Chapter 50: Vacay-decay?!

"Minna-San! It's time for all of us to take a vacation!"

Everyone in the meeting room stared blankly at Kuma. She was smiling up a storm and Moka rolled her eyes.

"Do we really have time for a vacay?" Lucy dead panned and the generals nodded with their agreement. The demon population was steadily growing and with the risk of having as many demons as humans were quite dire. And for Lucy of all people, the one who loved vacations, to deny the offer so quickly meant that they were seriously swamped. Wendy smirked and ran a hand through her black hair.

"I don't know. I sort of agree with Kuma. Well my human side does, anyways. Working ourselves into the ground with no rest can be quite tedious sometimes. I'm sure a short two day vacation won't kill anybody." Dennevah typed all of this down, wanting to keep track of who said who. She was like the Royal Guards secretary and counselor. Making sure to have proof as to who-said-what in an argument comes in handy.

"But it's not just the demons we have to worry about now." Cobalt argued and Laxus nodded in agreement.

"Yeah. We have new guards transitioning into this castle as well."

Claire decided to put her two cents after thinking of another excuse.

"Annnnd remember, all of the Royal Family will be meeting in a few days to talk about who will be transcending Moka to the throne." Gajeel decided that Kuma needed more reasoning since she was still smiling.

"Dont forget, we still have Oracion Seis to investigate and report it back to Master Makarov and Master Bob."

Kuma yawned and looked back at them with a bored expression. "You all done bitin' my head off?" Eve shook his head, not believing his eyes. She took all of that and still refused this silly vacation idea? She's stubborn just like Moka.

"Ok! So now that we're done trying to handle Kuma, here's what I say. Wendy's right, two days will not hurt. Actually it would help. You see Koga and I implanted these special forcefields around the castle with all of our DNA signatures printed in them. We can walk off and on the grounds as we please. Any demon trying to break in will be ended quite quickly. And if someone tries to hack the computers, they won't be able to. I've made up a series of passwords that only I know. Yokai is practiclly unpenetrable."

"Now those two days would help because I've realized something. The mini lacrimas that I keep for Fairy Tail episodes are repeadetly stolen yet returned exactly two days later. If I could catch whoever steals them from my room under my floorboard —I know right shouldn't be easy to find— I get to see who's making these episodes of Demon Hunter 101. If any information that we think could be harmless makes it on worldwide television, and yes worldwide because appearently we are that popular, someone can use that against us and."

Kuma made a slicing movement across her throat and Lucy shivered. "Exactly." She responded to Lucy's shaking.

"So technically I'm still working. You guys will be getting a much needed break. You can see the bags under Aunt Juvia's eyes!" Everyone automatically turned to the water woman who was in a corner, knees to her chest and hugging herself. Indeed she had purple blotches under her eyes signaling no energy was in her. She looked annoyed at being pointed out and flipped them off just because.

"So that's that! Vacation here we come!"

"I still don't feel like we should have had a vacation now."

Laxus nodded his agreement as they dropped there bags and fell back on their respective beds at the same time. All demon partners were to share a room, which was weird since they would all probably be boy/girl housing.

"Well nothin we can do so might as well enjoy the few moments of peace. Juvia's not the only one with bags under her eyes." He was hinting at his fellow blond but she thought he meant himself.

"You don't have bags under your eyes Sparky."

"I meant you, Blondie. I can smell the makeup."

She blushed and looked in a mirror. She looked fine. Laxus rolled his eyes and closed them, throwing his arms behind his head. Then a wild idea appeared in his head.

"Let's go." Lucy blinked at him. He had put on a T-Shirt so she was assuming they were going down to the beach.

"Hold on a sec! Let me put on my swimsuit!" He simply nodded and in a split second she was back out in her favorite white bikini with pink flowers.

"Now why the sudden enthusiasm to go have fun?" Lucy questioned as he dragged her down the hallway. She was still kinda shaky around him after he had tested to see if she really had Hysteria Mode. It was fun but she was in Hysteria Mode for two hours, torturing her partner with kisses and strip teases. His voice broke her out of her reverie.

"I thought of something that'll make me have fun." He responded with a growing smirk.

"What'll make you have fun?" She questioned, a little nervous. It wasn't a secret that Laxus was slightly something akin to a sadist and a perv. So when he gave her a lopsided grin, she gulped.

"We're gonna see how far you can go without entering Hysteria Mode."

Lucy immediately tried to push all her weight down to stop her moving, which Laxus ignored by throwing her over his shoulder and began to laugh, making sure each step was a little jumbled so she felt like she was going to fall.

"I..! Haaattee..! YOOOUUU..!" She screamed, but couldn't help but to tighten her hold around his torso when he rattled her again. She felt like crying.

"Juvia would like to know what's wrong with Gajeel-kun."

The man made of steel rolled his red eyes at his new demon partner. He knew it was going to happen but it happened to soon.

"I don't like sand." He said off handedly as she presented him with an ice cream cone. He took it without thanking her but she knew that was his style. She giggled at his answer and dragged him to a secluded spot of rocks next to a cliff where they could sit without being on the sand.

"...Juvia knows you don't want her here. But Juvia is going to stay because..." Gajeel was surprised when she took his hand. He hadnt felt it in so long. Not since back then anyway.

"Juvia wants to make sure her boys are alright." She concluded with a dazzling smile which made the mans knees want to go week. He had been trying to get distant, to stay away from her after they found Fairy Tail. But she wouldn't let go. Why? She had tons of new friends. She even had a little crush on Gray. Why did she want to stick around him?

'Oh yeah...' He thought sadly, as they tapped each other's cones lightly in a toast.

'I was her first.'

Moka walked alone on the beach, thinking. No one knew but she had split from her human form a while back so they could both have their seperate lives. Although now she had half the power she had before, she was still a force to be reckoned with.

"Why did Kuma pick the beach anyways? She's a vampire too. She'll burn herself." She thought off handedly but made no move to find her. She was walking around with Cobalt and she didn't want to interupt. The boy would remind her anyway. They do have brains.

At least she hoped.

The silver haired vamp sighed as she watched the setting sky. She wonder what her other kids were doing. She had six of them. She started thinking about them from oldest to youngest. Who would be the best for the throne when she stepped down?

Pricella. The girl who betrayed their family. She hardly thought about her anymore. Maybe Zeref would claim her but not her. She disgraced them.

Kuma. She was obviously a good choice. She had strong loyalty and she handled pressure better than others. Though she did jump to conclusions a bit to quick and she had a big tantrum that ignited on the silliest of things.

Then their was Hikari. She heard that she competed against Kuma for the S-Class exams. Laxus recounted how strong she was and how cunning her strategies were. Though she was hesitant with every move she made. He also played chess with her and indeed she was a genius. Though she didn't do so hot under stress.

Next was Sting. One of her only two boys. Him and his twin brother, Rouge were inseprable. So it would be hard to choose one because there was only one throne in that palace guarded by Yokai academy. Sting was strong and like his older sister, was a dragon slayer. One of four who were taught in the sacred art. He was a leader though he tended to get cocky. That would cost the race alot if he made a decision that'll end up screwing him over because of his pride.

His older twin brother, Rouge, was another wise choice. The third of her dragon slayer kids the boy was quiet and solemn. But again the problem lied with the two never wanting to seperate. He pretends to not care but she knew better. He worried about every little detail and that too could fuck them over if he over thought something.

Then there was her last girl, Wendy. Just like Kuma she didn't know she was her biological mother. And because these kids were raised by dragons, she didn't mind if they didn't consider her their mother. She did deserve it. Although Sting and Rouge do call her mother because they both were raised by male dragons.

Wendy was the youngest, far to young to be queen. Though the tradition was in the demonic race to crown the youngest the throne, Moka felt a war coming and so it was fine if she chose who. Wendy wasn't a bad choice though. She was just young. Which equalled naivety. And she was so nice and pushable in her human form that someone could just glare at her and she'll hand over the keys to Yokai.

Moka sighed and looked at the moon.

"How are you now...Zeref darling?"

"What do you mean Im uptite?!"

Kuma was full on glaring at Cobalt who just rolled his eyes.

"I just asked one simple yes or no question and you destroyed the beach!"

"You asked if I was a VIRGIN!"

After that she punched the boy in the chest and he hissed in pain.

They were talking about her career. Seeing which rumors were true or not. The thought occurred to Cobalt that her name was Temptress so she couldn't be of the virginity status since she was just so pretty. Why would she be? So when he asked, he momentarily forgotten this girl could kick his ass.

"And even if I weren't you wouldn't be getting anything." She said slyly, a bit of a blush on her cheeks. Cobalt snickered and gave a silly grin.

"Oh really? Because last time I checked at that party you were loving my hands on you." He got punched again but this time it was sloppy so he caught her fist in his hand. Her cheeks were a royal red. "Sh-Shut. Up!" Cobalt laughed and poked fun at her, while she pouted and grumbled about how teenaged boys were way to perverted.

"Hey Kuma, tell me about Shinra. You said you guys were raised by Jari together."

Kuma looked over at the blue haired boy and shrugged. "Yeah, we were. Just for about a year or two though before Jari took off. Believe it or not, he use to smile. It was pretty too! I guess when Jari left so did those pearly whites..." Kuma smiled softly to herself and took a sip of her strawberry drink laced (ok practiclly over balanced) with vodka. Cobalt stayed quiet, letting her get herself together.

"You know, Jari means gravel. When I asked why he was named for scattered rocks, he said that he himself chose it because it showed that no matter how strong like rock his will was, his feelings could always scatter his ambition. He said it was a reminder to keep himself grounded so that he wouldn't get so high to the fact that he would loose sight of reality." Kuma downed the rest of her drink and threw the cup in a nearby trash can without looking.

"Anyways, what about you? Who's your dragon? You are a Dragon Slayer." Cobalt downed his own alcohal, beer, and threw his plastic cup away. Where the two teens found the beverages would be a secret kept untill the grave.

"I don't have a dragon."

Kuma coughed and looked at him like he was insane. Before she could ask he looked up at the sky painfully and gave a cruel smirk.

"I'm what you call a 2nd generation Dragon Slayer. I have a lacrima embedded in me. I was a test subject and was a so called failure. But I like to believe I turned out stronger than they think. After all, I'm still here aernt I? And breathing. That helps too." Kuma gasped when he took off his t-shirt to show a scar. Right across his stomach.

"It happened so long ago, but I still get ache pains once in a while. Memory's still fresh. They didn't even put me to sleep first when they cut me open. Damn bastards. I was just a kid! I was only eight! Jesus this world is...unbelievable." He muttered, running a calloused hand through his short blue locks.

Kuma saw alot of Gajeel in his demeanor, not willingly wanting to trust anybody. He had people he talked to— not friends. But then she also saw specks of Juvia too. Sure he acted cocky, but he could be really shy and sweet when he wanted to make someone feel better. Cobalt tried to forget his past and make a better present, just like his mother. And maybe Gajeel may not have considered so, but Cobalt always looked up to him as a father figure. So he tried to be like him. He thought that maybe if he was Gajeel's kind of tough, the aches would go away.

Kuma saw that Cobalt didn't want to say more and so she tried to make him feel better but she couldn't do anything. But she could let him know that she could relate. That's how she felt better from lying to her mom all this time. By fiding out that she could correspond with her problems.

"Look! We're matching!" She exclaimed lifting up her top piece just below her breast to show the scar she recieved from Reiga, the illusion king. She smiled sadly and bumped into his side, letting her shirt fall between her fingers. Cobalt gave her an appreciative smile and laced his fingers with hers.

"I promise I'll tell you more. When Im ready. Just like you trusted me. I'll trust you. We're demon partners after all."

"And besides that we're nakama. Don't forget that tidbit too."

Cobalt and Kuma decided to race back to the hotel and grab something to eat. Using any meaningful yet teasing way to win like tripping and pushing.

Both with carefree smiles on they're faces.

"I hate you...so much."

Lucy was full blown blushing and straightning her bikini top when they stepped out of the water and began heading towards the hotel.

They had been hanging out in a secret little cove and Laxus couldn't help but to get handsy. Seeing how much he would have to do to put her in Hysteria Mode was a helluva good time. There were diffrent combinations too. He could use sweet words and gentle strokes of the cheek or he could get down and dirty and let his hands roam wherever they pleased. The mixutre of both moves though had her back in Hysteria Mode in less than two minutes.

"Sure you do, Blondie."

He chuckled when he pinched her thigh and she growled.

"Carry me!" She demanded and he gave her the deadest of deadpanned looks ever created. "You have shoes on and I don't want to mess up the hotel's floor. You volunteringly carried me to the cove. Or do you just always need a prize when Im involved?" Laxus chuckled and realized she was right about that. So he picked her up and walked them back to they're hotel room, half heartedly listning to her cheers of how fun today was besides his pervy side.

When they arrived though, Lucy gasped at a pink object sitting on her bed.

"What is it, Blondie?" Laxus called from his side, getting ready to take a shower.

"I-it's...m..I-I.." She picked up what seemed to be a book and began to start shaking. Laxus immediately came over to the other side of the room.

"What is it?!" He demanded and she smiled a watery yet bright smile.

"My mother's diary! I thought it burned! It's still here!"
