Chapter 48: Bookworm

Back at Shade's office, everyone was looking down at Carlos.

He gulped and replied, "I know he failed, but I'm dueling next and my deck can kick serious ass."

Bulldog then replied, "Thats what you said about Carlos and look what happened there, Daniel."

Sledge then replied, "You were suppose to teach him well, but he lost a important duel."

Daniel then replied, "I know, but I'll make you all proud."

Sledge then replied, "I doubt you'll do any good."

"ENOUGH, FOOLS", Shade yelled out loud.

They all looked at him with a scared look and he replied, "If he says he's a better duelist then his apprentice, then I believe him! I think he'll have a decent chance to beat him tomorrow, so you can all CAN IT!"

They all saluted him and Bulldog then repleid, "Yes..sir."

"Good, now leave before I get any more mad!"

They all turned to leave and he replied, "Daniel, stay for a bit longer."

Sledge and Bulldog quickly left and closed the door behind and Daniel then repleid, "You going to be mad at me for that lost too, I suppose?"

"I should, but I won't. You're not using that test deck, are you?"

Daniel then repleid, "No, sir. I have a much better and more powerful then that one, sir. It's better then that one."

"Good. I look foward to your win tomorrow."

"Yes, sir."

Later that night in the lounge, they were talking about her win.

She sighed and replied, "That was a tough duel, but my X-Saber Army wins again."

Kelly then replied, "You only going to use that deck for the rest of the time where here?"

Christina then replied, "I'll be using my regular fire deck next time I duel. I'm ready to use those fiery monsters again and I miss using it. I like my 2nd deck, but I want use my true fire deck as well."

Kelly then replied, "Sounds good, girl. Whatever deck you feel right using is fine with us, Christina."

Christina then replied, "I know and thank you, guys."

Back at the casino, Carly was in a meeting with Caitlin and Melissa.

Carly then replied, "How is the system doing?"

Melissa sighed and replied, "We don't know how to work it at all, madam. We can't figure it out at all."

Caitlin nodded and replied, "My mom here has done all she has done, but we can't get through to them while they're inside of that HQ, Carly."

Carly sighed and replied, "That puzzles me alot. I hope they're okay and I hope we can get a hold of them soon."

Caitlin then replied, "We'll do whatever we can, madam."

Carly then replied, "Call up Jeb and see if he can help us out."

Melissa then replied, "Yes, madam."

Everyone in the Future Fighters knew who Jeb was. His full name was indeed Jebadiah Clinton O'Malley. He was born in Ireland and then he and his parents came to live in London while he was only 5 years old and then they've lived there ever since. About 3 years ago (In their timeline), he was getting away from a couple of Savage Beasts that both had a gun and then Carly and Sebestian appeared out of a hidden portal and they Officer O'Malley arrest them and they vanished before his fellow cops came in and took the suspects into custody. That next day, Carly asked his boss about taking the entry exam for the Future Fighters and he accepted this idea and Jeb had no problem beating a sage to become a member of the group. He was a cop and he was really good with technology and since then, he's been the lead Tech junky of the Savage Beasts.

Caitlin smiled and replied, "I'll see if our tech nerd is ready to help out if he can, Carly."

In his room in their HQ, Daniel was going over her deck to see if it was ready to duel with.

He sighed and rpelied, "It took some good amount of time to get these cards, but They're good cards and I can't wait to use them."

He gathered the cards and made a deck of them and he smiled and replied, "Time for me to get a win for our team."

Back at the Casino, Carly was talking with Caitlin, Melissa and now Jeb who accepted the invite to the past to help out."

Jeb smiled and replied, "Nice to see you again, Boss."

Carly then replied, "I'm glad you were able to help us out."

"It wasn't a problem at all. My sweetie Jessie is back there and taking care of any trouble."

Caitlin then replied, "How are you both dueling?"

"While you'll be in this timeline, I asked for her hand in marriage and she said yes!"

Melissa smiled and replied, "Crangratulations, Jeb!"

"Thank you, Melissa. If it wasn't for you, I would of never met her."

Carly then replied, "Good to here all this good news. Did Caitlin tell you about our problem right now?"

"Yes, she did. That is a wierd problem. You shouldn't have any trouble getting a message to Sebastian, even if they're are stuck in their HQ."

"Well, we can't and we need you."

"Take me to the computer then."

She pointed to it and Jeb walked infront and typed some keys and then he sighed and replied, "I see you're problem."

"What is it, Jeb?", Melissa asked.

He looked at Carly and replied, "There's somesort of building controlled by the beasts in this city that blocks any attempt to chat with them. They did this before they even entered, madam."

Carly sighed and replied, "Damn it. I hate those assholes even more now."

Jeb the replied, "Let me had back to our timeline and see if I can find out anything about it and then I'll let you all know anything I find out soon, Carly."

Carly smiled and replied, "Thank you so much for all of this, Jeb. Tell Jessie I said Hi to her."

"Will do, madam. Will do."

Later that night, they were outside of the arena and Ginny replied, "Open up already!"

Suddenly, the huge went on down and Daniel was waiting inside and then as they ented, the door slammed shut and Daniel smiled and replied, "Who will be dueling me?"

Ginny raised her hand and replied, "That would be me."

Daniel then replied, "Fine and my deck is ready for anything you send my way!"

Ginny smiled and replied, "You won't beat me, you foolish man."

As they sat down, both duelists activated their duel disks and drew 5 cards apiece.

"Game on!", both yelled out.

(Daniel LP: 8000 - Ginny LP: 8000)

Daniel drew a card and replied, "I summon my Junk Blader!"

As he sat the card down, the junky warrior appeared (ATK: 1,800).

"Attack!"

the warrior went in and a Mystic Seer appeared on the card DEF: 100) and was blown to shards as the swords struck her and she drew 2 cards and then she took another card and placed on the bottom of her deck.

"Your turn now, I guess."

Daniel drew a card and replied, "I start by activating Spellbook Star Hall!"

The spell appeared.

"Next, I summon my Fool of Prophecy!"

As he sat the card down, a yellowed-robe magician appeared with a scepter in her hand (ATK: 1,600).

Christina then replied, "If he's using all Prophecy deck, Ginny may be in trouble."

"I now play Spellbook of Power!"

Suddenly, her weapon began to glow (ATK: 1,600 - 2,600) and then a glowing counter appeared on the Star Hall (SPC: 0 - 1) - (ATK: 2,600 - 2,700).

"Now, attack that warrior with Foolish Prophecy!"

She aimed her staff and fired a burst of magic energy and shot out, smashing Junk Blader to little pieces (Ginny LP: 8000 - 7100)

"When a monster effected by Spellbook of Power destroys a monster, I can add any Spellbook from my deck to my hand!"

He took a monster from his deck and placed it in his hand and then he replied, "Your turn now."

Suddenly, she let out a moan (ATK: 2,700 - 1,700).

Ginny drew a card and replied, "1 monster facedown and 1 card facedown and that'll end my turn now."

Daniel drew a card and replied, "I summon Breaker the Magical Warrior!"

As he sat the card down, the magical warrior with a glowing sword of magic appeared (ATK: 1,600 - 1,900 - 2,000).

"I remove his counter to destroy your facedown card!"

As his sword stopped glowing (ATK: 2,000 - 1,900), he swung his sword and a blade of magical energy shot out and cleaved her facedown Scrap-Iron Scarecrow in two pieces.

"Fool, attack!"

She fired a burst of magic energy again and it shot out and a Junk Defender appeared on the card (DEF: 1,800 - 2,100) and the magic attack bounced off its front (Daniel LP: 8000 - 7600) and then he groaned and replied, "Damn it! I'll set a card and that'll end my turn now."

Ginny drew a card and replied, "I summon my Frequency Magician!"

As she sat the card down, a mage appeared (ATK: 800).

"I now tune them together!"

The tuner magician split into 2 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through Junk Defender, which turned into 4 white stars.

"I Synchro Summon..Powered Inzektron!"

As he sat the card down, the huge machine Synchro she used in her duel in Duluth appeared (ATK: 2,500).

Christina then repleid, "Cool."

"Demolish her Fool!"

The machine aimed its cannons at her and it fired a burst of bullets that shot out and blasted her into pixels (Daniel LP: 7600 - 6800).

Ginny smiled and replied, "There you go. I'll set a card and that'll end my turn now."

Daniel drew a card and replied, "I'll switch Breaker to defense and then I'll set a new monster and 1 card facedown and that'll end my turn now."

Ginny drew a card and replied, "I summon my Gearfried the Iron Knight!"

As he sat the card down, iron-armored knight appeared (ATK: 1,800).

"Lets do this! Gearfried, attack!"

The mighty warrior went and made a downward slice with his sword, blasting Breaker into pixels.

"Attack!"

The cannons of the machine began to power up and then it fired a huge burst of shells and energy and it shot out and a Neo the Magical Warrior appeared on the card (DEF: 1,000) and was blown to atoms as the attack struck him down.

"Your move now, dude."

Daniel drew a card and replied, "I summon my Charioteer of Prophecy!"

As he sat the card down, a spellcaster riding a horse appeared (ATK: 1,800).

"Next, I play Spellbook of Summons! Since I Normal Summoned a Spellcaster, I can use this spellbook to Normal Summon another Spellcaster and I choose my Strength of Prophecy!"

As he sat the card down, a fiery spellcaster appeared (ATK: 1,500).

"Nexr, I play Spellbook of Life! I banish 1 spellcaster to special summon another from my graveyard!"

As he banished his Crystal Seer, Breaker the Magical Warrior appeared (ATK; 1,600) and then a 3rd counter appeared on the Star Hall card (SPC: 2 - 3).

"I now overlay my 3 monsters!"

The 3 spellcasters turned into blue orbs and then a portal opened up, which they flew into.

"I use these monster to build the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon! Appear before me..Alchemic Magician!"

As he sat the card down, the same Xyz Arkana used in his duel appeared infront of them..but she had the right hair color and she gave them both a smile (ATK: 1,500 - 2,100).

Ginny then replied, "Her again? Sheesh."

"She gets 200 ATK for each spell card in my graveyard."

(ATK: 2,100 - 2,700).

Christina then replied, "At least she doesn't look like a whore like it did when Arkana used her."

"attack her Gearfried!"

She began to glow and then she opened her hands and a burst of magical energy shot out and struck, smashing the knight to pieces (Ginny LP: 7100 - 6200).

"Take that! I'll set a card and that'll end my turn now."

Ginny drew a card and replied, "I'll switch my monster to defense and then I'll set a monster facedown and that'll end my turn now."

Daniel drew a card and replied, "I summon another Charioteer of Prophecy!"

As he sat the card down, the spellcaster riding a horse appeared (ATK: 1,800).

"I now equip my Alchemic Magician with Piercer Wand."

Suddenly, a glowing wand appeared in her hand (ATK: 2,700 - 3,100) - (SPC: 3 - 4) - (ATK: 3,100 - 3,200) (ATK: 1,800 - 2,200).

"This will give her a piercing ability and 400 attack points. Charioteer, attack!"

A beam of light shot from its glowing hand and the beam went cleanly through the huge machine and then it exploded into fiery metal.

"Magician, attack!"

She chanted and then a Synchron Gear appeared on the card (DEF: 1,000) and was blasted to pieces as the magic energy struck (Ginny LP: 6200 - 4100).

"Your turn now."

Ginny drew a card and replied, "I play Heavy Storm!"

The storm began and the wand was blown to pieces and the Star Hall card was blown to bits as well (ATK: 3,100 - 2,300 - 2,700) and he replied, "Now, I can add a spellcaster from my deck to my hand equal to the number of counters on the card and there was 4 of them.

He took a monster from his deck and placed it in his hand.

"I discard 1 card to bring The Tricky!"

As she sat the card down, the odd spellcaster appeared (ATK: 2,000).

"I now summon my Nitro Synchron!"

As she sat the card down, the tiny fire tank appeared (ATK: 300).

"I now tune my monsters together!"

The tiny fuel tank split into 2 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through The Tricky, which turned into 5 white stars. When this happened, Ginny raised her hands and began to chant:

"Gathering feelings will now become a new force! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Blaze on, Nitro Warrior!"

As she sat the card down, the fiery Synchro warrior appeared (ATK: 2,800) and then she drew a card and replied, "I play Forbidden Chalice!"

Suddenly, she let out a weak cry (ATK: 2,700 - 1,600) and then the warrior began to glow (ATK: 2,800 - 3,800).

"Attack!"

The mighty Synchro went and gave the Xyz a mighty punch, blasting the Xyz into fragments (Daniel LP: 6800 - 4400).

Ginny smiled and replied, "Take that! I end my turn now."

Daniel drew a card and replied, "I'll switch my other to defense and then I'll set a monster facedown and that'll end my turn now."

Ginny drew a card and replied, "Dark Blade, come forth!"

As he sat the card down, the dark swordsman appeared (ATK: 1,800).

"Lets do it. Nitro Warrior, attack!"

The fiery synchro went and punched the Prophecy monster and it shattered to bits as well.

"Attack!"

The swordsman went in and a Magician of Faith appeared on the card (DEF: 400) and he struck with his sword, blowing the spellcaster into tiny shards and then she took a card from her graveyard and placed it in her hand.

"Your turn now."

Daniel drew a card and replied, "I play Treasured Cards from Heaven!"

Both drew until they had 6 cards in their hand and then he opened his field slot and replied, "I activate The Grand Spellbook Tower field spell!"

As she slid the card into the slot and closed, the arena turned into a grassy field with a large magical tower behind Daniel.

"Next, I reveal 3 Spellbook cards in my hand to special summon my High Priestess of Prophecy!"

As she revealed the cards (Which were a Spellbook of the Master, a 2nd Spellbook of Life and a Spellbook of Wisdom), a beautiful woman appeared (ATK: 2,500).

Sebastian then replied, "She can be quite a bit of trouble if her ability is used too much."

"Next, I'll use Spellbook of Greed which I can only use if I have a Level or Rank 6 or higher monster on my side of the field and I must reveal a Spellbook card or both cards are banished!"

He drew 2 cards and took a card (Which was the Spellbook of Wisdom) and banished it and then he replied, "I banish 1 monster to destroy one of your monsters!"

As he banished his Spellbook of Summmons, she pointed her scepter and fired a burst of dark energy and it struck Nitro Warrior and then he burst into a fiery cloud of smoke.

"Next, I banish 1 dark and light monster to bring out my Choas Sorcerer!"

As he banished her Magican of Faith and Breaker, the imfamous socerer appeared with a evil smile (ATK: 2,300).

Christina groaned and replied, "I don't like where this is going!"

"You won't like this at all. I play Foolish Burial.'

He took a monster from his deck and slid it into his graveyard and then he reshuffled and replied, "I play a 2nd Spellbook of Life to banish one of my Charioteers to bring out the Wheel of Prophecy I just discarded to the graveyard!"

As he banished one of his Charioteers, a beastly Spellcaster appeared (ATK: 2,700).

Kelly then replied, "No..way."

"I banish your Dark Blade!"

Suddenly, she tossed a ball of black energy and shot out and the Dark Swordsman simply vanished into nothing.

"Rest of you, attack her directly!"

The Prophecy monsters went and struck her down with their magical powers (Ginny LP: 4100 - 0).

Christina groaned and replied, "No damn way."

Suddenly, Ginny began to glow and she turned to her friends and replied, "Take them out for me.."

Suddenly, she vanished into black smoke and then Daniel smiled and repleid, "She's our prisoner now and if you want to her, came and get her!"

Suddenly, he vanished into black smoke as well and Christina then replied, "No damn way this is happening to us."

Kelly then replied, "We'll get her soon enough, gang."

Sebastian sighed and replied, "I don't know how, but we'll do what we can to get her back."

Spellbook of Summons / Normal Spell Card

If you Normal Summoned/Set a Spellcaster-type monster this turn: During your Main Phase, you can 1 Additonal Normal Summon/Set this monster in addition to your 1st Normal Summon/Set, as long as the 2nd monster being Normal Summoned/Set this turn is a Spellcaster-type monster as well. You can only activate 1 "Spellbook of Summons" per turn and you cannot activate any other Spell Cards the turn you activated this card, except for "Spellbook" cards.

Piercer Wand / Equip Spell Card

Equip only to a Spellcaster-type monster. It gains 500 ATK and when it

Activate only if you contol a Spellcaster monster thats is Level or Rank 6 or higher. Draw 2 cards and then banish 1 "Spellbook" card in your hand and if you have no "Spellbook" spell cards in your hand: Banish both cards drawn with this effect. You can only activate 1 "Spellbook Of Greed" per turn and you cannot activate any other Spell Cards the turn you activated this card, except for "Spellbook" cards.

That was a hard loss for the team. How will they get her back? We'll answer that one later and now, Carly and her two assistants go to the building that has the system thats blocking them from talking to the gang inside of the HQ and they must duel the leader and Caitlin asks to duel. What kind of deck does she use? Find out in the next chapter and I'm keeping the titles name a secret for now.
