A/N: Hello folks! Thank you for reading and reviewing. I can't believe I've done over 60 stories now XD I'll soon be reaching my goal! I hope you are still enjoying them :)
This Morganders story is for Cirinde Palantir, who suggested Nick sending Greg and Morgan on a date, things end up a little passionate between them, and then the next day Nick asks what happened XD
Summary – Nick sets Greg and Morgan up on their first date, but they seem embarrassed when he asks how it went…
You Two Should Date
Greg and Morgan had been doing the same dance for month's now. One of them would go to ask the other out on a date, but then choke at the last minute, and just end up asking a trivial and pointless question like 'have you seen my coffee cup?' Everyone else on the team could see just how much they liked each other, Hell even Ecklie had seen it, although he wasn't best pleased about it… and that was why none of their friends could understand why Greg and Morgan just wouldn't start dating already.
Whenever one of the team asked them why they weren't dating yet, Greg and Morgan would both turn a deep shade of red, and either giggle nervously or find some excuse to leave. Nick and Sara swore down that they had never seen Greg turn so shy as when the topic of him and Morgan came up, and Finn claimed Morgan reminded her of a high school cheerleader who didn't want the football team captain to know she had a crush on him.
"I swear to God they need their heads banging together" Nick mumbled to Finn as they watched Greg once again fail to get his words out in front of Morgan, and practically running from the room.
"Oh, I think it's cute how they're so nervous" Finn said with a smile.
"But why can one of them not just say it? Will you go out with me?" Nick asked.
"It's just young love" Finn said with a shrug "Anyway, why do you care so much if they start dating or not?"
"Well…they've been through a lot of stuff recently, and I think it would be good for the both of them to have something else to focus on, like a relationship" Nick explained.
Finn smiled "Look at you, Mr Romantic" she nudged his shoulder and Nick rolled his eyes "So, what are you going to do about it? Without resorting to physical abuse such as head banging…"
"I don't know yet" Nick frowned "But I bet you 20 bucks I have them on a date by the end of the night"
Finn smiled and shook his hand "You're on!"
Near the end of the shift, and Nick, Greg and Morgan were all having coffee in the break room.
"So, are you two dating yet?" Nick asked out of the blue. Both younger CSI's nearly spit out their coffee.
"No, why would we be?" Greg asked turning crimson, whilst Morgan just laughed nervously.
"Because you quite blatantly want to be" Nick said plainly. He was not going to tiptoe around the subject. "I think you should give it a shot"
Morgan and Greg shared a look, as if they were considering it, but then Greg went back to stirring his coffee and Morgan suddenly found something fascinating to look at outside the window.
Nick sighed "Okay" he pulled his wallet out his back pocket and brought out some cash "Here is…" he thumbed through the bills "seventy dollars. You take this, you go have a good time doing something together, and then you can tell me if I'm wrong or not"
"Nick, I'm not just going to take money off you" Morgan said surprised.
"I am" Greg said leaning across the table and snatching the bills "the amount of times I've bailed you out for bets with Warrick, this is rightfully mine anyway"
"Yes, but you have to spend it on something nice for you and Morgan" Nick encouraged.
"No he doesn't..." Morgan blushed, although it was apparent to Nick that her voice was filled with longing and desire.
"No, I want to" Greg said with a smile and Morgan's eyes appeared to immediately brighten. "How about we take this and go for a burger….something simple, no pressure"
"Yeah…" Morgan said quietly "That sounds…nice" she tread carefully, not wanting to scare Greg away by saying just how perfect it sounded, and how she'd been waiting to go out with him basically since the day they met.
"Alright then" Greg said, placing the money in his jacket pocket "Shall we go? Wherever you want"
"Yeah, let's" Morgan replied.
Greg stood up reaching his hand out for her. Morgan took it and both CSI's felt a connection which they had never felt with anyone before. The touch brought warmth to each other's bodies after months of feeling so cold, and neither Greg nor Morgan really wanted to let go.
As he watched the younger CSI's leave together hand-in-hand, Nick couldn't help but look smug and very pleased with himself.
"Looks like Finlay owes me 20 dollars"
Morgan had directed Greg to a cute little burger joint not far from the lab, so they had decided to walk, keeping hold of each other's hands the whole way. They selected a booth in the corner of the dining area, hoping to find little distraction so that they could just enjoy each other's company away from the pressures of work.
"You didn't just bring me here because Nick practically forced us too, right?" Morgan asked.
"No, no of course not!" Greg reassured her. "Morgan, I've wanted nothing more in these past few weeks than to go on a date with you…I guess I was just too much of a coward to ask."
Morgan smiled at this response. "So, this is a date then?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I-if you want it to be?" Greg asked a little nervously.
"Of course I do" Morgan said with a small smile, and Greg seemed to visibly relieve. "And don't be sorry, I must be just as much a coward, I've wanted to ask you out too"
"Why has it really taken us so long to do this?" Greg asked. "Why could everyone see it but us?"
"I'm not sure, but you always hear these horrible stories about what happens to friends who date and then break up…." Morgan stated "I guess that's what scared me most…the thought of it not working out and…well, losing you"
"Hey, that's not ever going to happen" Greg said, as he reached across the table to take Morgan's hand. "You are too important to me to ever let you slip away from my life, no matter what"
Morgan had tears in her eyes after he said this; she'd never wanted Greg more than she did now. Leaning over, she pulled the male CSI's head forward, and took Greg by surprise, passionately pushing her lips against his, their mouths moving in perfect motion with each other's. Again, it felt so right, and it felt better than any kiss they had had with anyone else before, because it was genuine and Greg and Morgan knew it was going to lead somewhere good.
"That's the dance we should have been doing all these months" Greg said with a smile after they broke apart.
Morgan laughed "Yeah, I can't believe what we've been missing out on" she bit her bottom lip "Say erm…why don't we eat this fast and…go back to my place"
Greg's eyes grew wide and his heart rate immediately quickened "Yes…yes let's do that" he said nervously.
Morgan laughed "You're so adorable, you know that?" she said honestly. The waiter brought over their food and beers. Morgan raised her bottle "To our first date" she said.
"And I hope that there will be many more" Greg said raising his bottle too as they clinked them together.
The next night, and Morgan and Greg were sat kissing in the break room when Nick walked in. A smile broke across the Texan's face.
"Good evening" he said with a knowing voice, and Greg and Morgan immediately pulled away, embarrassed. "Sorry to interrupt. I take it last night went very well?" he raised an eyebrow.
"Well, we're going out again at the weekend if that's what you're asking" Morgan said, blushing. She knew very well that wasn't what Nick was asking.
"That's great! I'm happy for you guys" Nick said with a smile as he sat at the table.
"So erm…I'm going to go collect my evidence" Morgan said, feeling uncomfortable under Nick's stare, and she hastily left the room.
"So…what exactly did happen last night?" Nick asked.
"A gentleman doesn't tell" Greg replied sticking his nose in the air, deciding to plead ignorance.
Nick scoffed "Good job you're not a gentleman then. You're a teenage kid trapped in a man's body who's just desperate to boast about his latest quest…"
"Hey, Morgan is not a quest" Greg said defensively, and Nick couldn't help but smile "She's so much more, and I see I have a long and happy future ahead of me with her…"
"Ah, so it was that good was it?" Nick teased.
"I'm not discussing this with you!" Greg said incredulously as he stood up from his seat.
"Greg, you dog! One the first date? With the bosses daughter? That is the dream, man. That is the dream" Nick said.
"Oh, shut up!" Greg huffed; he was turning bright red again "I'm not saying it did happen, I'm not saying it didn't…"
"Well I'm going to say it didn't, because I want to be able to look at you guys again without getting nauseous"
"Hey!"
"What! I don't want to think about my little brother and sister doing that!" Nick said with a face of disgust.
"Urgh, well that makes you the pervert then doesn't it"? Greg said folding his arms.
"Okay, okay I'll drop it…so, are you at least going to thank me for making this whole date happen?" Nick asked.
Greg softened a little "Thank you" he mumbled "We needed the push and… I've never felt more confident coming back from a first date. So yes, thank you"
"You're welcome, buddy" Nick smiled. Greg went to leave and that's when Nick spotted something on the side of his friend's neck. "Greg, is that a hickey I'm seeing!?" he asked with a smirk.
"No, not listening to you" Greg said putting his hand over his hears and rushing from the room.
All Nick could do was laugh.
Haha oh dear XD Sorry about that but it had to be done this way ;)
I hope you will soon have more prompts for me; I'm making my way through!
