Okay my second chapter, woohoo!
Disclaimer- I don't own Danny Phantom
In no time it was Sunday night, and the Fenton house was anything but calm.
"MOOOM!"
Maddie Fenton rushed into the kitchen to see why her daughter was calling her. "What is it sweetie?"
"You left your ecto samples on the kitchen table again and they ate my outline for my essay!" whined Jazz who was holding up chewed up papers.
At the same time Danny walked into the kitchen to get something to eat. "Well that will be a new one, 'my parents ghost experiments ate my homework'," Danny snorted. "… Do you think Lancer would go for that?" Jazz glared at him.
Maddie smiled slightly at her children's antics. "Jazz, I'm sure you can tape it together again."
"This is what I get for coming home for the weekend to say bye to my baby brother before he goes off on his first trip abroad?" Jazz asked with a shake of her head.
Danny raised an eyebrow at her and crossed his arms. "I'm going away for a week, Jazz. And all it's going to be is Lancer boring us for seven days straight with no break."
"Going abroad is one of the greatest experiences a person can have. Everyone should get out of their comfort zone. Especially you, Danny," the redhead sent him a knowing look. "It will be really good for you to get out of Amity Park for a bit."
Danny glared back. "I think I can get out of my comfort zone perfectly fine here, thanks."
"Oh, Danny," Maddie sighed with her hands on her hips. "Jazz had a great time when she went! You'll be visiting so many historical attractions and sights, think about all the ghost activity there is!"
"Can't wait," Danny muttered.
"Oh, that reminds me! I almost forgot to pack you some ghost hunting equipment!" Maddie exclaimed as she rushed downstairs to the basement.
The halfa shook his head with a sigh. "What did I come down here for? Oh, food. Duh."
He could feel Jazz's eyes on him as he made his way over to the fridge.
"I know you're worried about the ghosts in Amity but mom and dad can take care of them."
He stopped with his hand on the handle to turn to her. "Maybe. But not only am I not going to be here, but Valerie, Sam, and Tucker are all going to be away too! Hell, even you'll be back at college," Danny added after a second thought. "The ghosts could easily take advantage of the city while I'm gone!"
Jazz's mouth twitched as she tried not to be too offended at the fact she was an afterthought in team Phantom. "Well, I'll see keep up with all of Amity's news and call mom and dad everyday to make sure nothing weird goes on. And if I think anything's up I'll be sure to tell you, okay?"
After contemplating this for a moment, Danny nodded and turned back to the refrigerator and opened it. He jumped back and slammed the door at what he saw.
"Ecto samples," the Fenton siblings said at the same time.
"BEEEEP BEEEEP BEEEEP!"
Danny slammed his hand on the off button to his alarm.
"It can't be time to wake up already," he said groggily. After spending most of the night fighting ghosts, he was exhausted and sore.
A peppy redhead barged into his room. " Come on, get up! You've got a long day ahead of you!" Jazz exclaimed.
"How did I get stuck with a sister who is such a morning person?" Danny muttered bitterly into his pillow.
"Today is the day where you'll finally leave the country!" she continued.
The younger Fenton rolled over to look at his sister. "Technically I leave the country all the time."
Jazz gave him a confused look.
"The Ghost Zone is another dimension. I'd call that out of the country, wouldn't you?"
Jazz rolled her eyes. "Just get downstairs, you dork," she said as she shut his door on the way out.
The teen smirked before rolling out of bed to get dressed into his usual jeans and t-shirt. Danny grabbed his backpack, duffel bag, and suitcase with a neon green Fenton logo stitched on the front that wasn't in his room last night. Picking up the handle of the suitcase he was pretty sure that his parents went overboard on packing the ghost hunting equipment.
He looked around his room trying to think of anything he forgot. He saw his old dented thermos sticking out underneath his bed. He wasn't sure if he would need it or not, or if his mom had put one in his suitcase but he took it anyway and stuck in the inside of his duffel bag.
He walked downstairs to find his family around the table eating breakfast. "Danny-boy! Look I made you some eggs!" hollered Jack even though Danny was just across the room.
The half-ghost looked at the eggs. "You realize they're glowing right?"
Jack held them up to inspect them closer. "Dang it!"
"I'll just have cereal," Danny said.
After Danny finished eating, his mom shouted, "Time to leave!"
"I'll get the Fenton Ghost Assault Vehicle ready!" Jack shouted grabbing the keys .
"NO!" the rest of the Fenton family yelled. The two kids looked at their mom with pleading eyes.
"I mean, Jack let me drive. You got to drive last time," Maddie said in a soothing voice.
Jack pouted his lip out and handed the keys out to his wife. "Fine."
The Fenton family, minus Jack, breathed out a sigh of relief.
Once the Fenton's got to the airport. They hopped out of the R.V. and the adults got Danny's bags out. Jazz walked next to Danny "Did you remember to pack the thermos?" she whispered so her parents wouldn't overhear.
"First mom then you?" she looked at him still waiting for an answer. " Yeah I brought the thermos along with a whole suitcase full of ghost equipment.," he sighed.
"They did it to me for my trip too. Just be thankful that they know now that they have to get a lock put on the bag when they check a bag full of ghost weapons," Jazz said bitterly.
Danny raised an eyebrow.
Jazz shook her head at the memory. "Let's just say it was the first and last time that I'll ever be interrogated." Danny laughed. "Anyway the trip is so fun! You'll learn so much with Lancer!"
"Yeah of course you'd say that," Danny grumbled.
Jazz gave him a playful shove. "Shut up."
After checking in Danny's luggage and a couple minutes of goodbyes and warnings to look out for ghosts, Danny's family left and he was left with his classmates and teacher.
"Nice of you to join us Mr. Fenton, I was just sharing the wonders of Shakespeare's life as we wait for the everyone else to check their luggage," Mr. Lancer said. The students gathered around him looked like they would rather be back at the high school than listen to him for one more minute.
"This is going to be a long trip," Tucker muttered as Danny sat on the floor next to him.
"Ugh! I can't believe the plane is delayed, it's been two hours already!" said an annoyed halfa while moving around in his chair trying to get comfortable. "Tucker can you check what's taking so long."
"On it," said Tucker as he whipped out his PDA, after some beeping and clicking he exclaimed "Got it! There's a storm over the ocean, it doesn't look that bad though we should be able to get on the plane soon," Danny groaned from hearing the news.
"Cheer up Danny, things could be worse," Sam remarked with a half hearted smile.
"Great every time someone says that something bad happens," groaned Danny. Not a moment after the intercom went off telling everyone that their flight was here.
"You were saying?" asked Sam with a sly smile on her face.
"Fine, but if anything goes wrong I'm blaming you," he joked as they boarded the plane.
