A/N: Hey guys! Glad you liked Greg's Halloween revenge, got another Halloween story for you right here. Now, this quirky prompt came from olorensl1289, who asked for one of the CSIs undergoing an animal transformation. Like I said, I'm open to any challenge, and I thought I could make something supernatural out of this.

Summary – Greg undergoes a supernatural transformation when he meets a Psychic at a crime scene…AU, Happy Halloween!

Transformation

For Greg Sanders, working to stop criminals on any other night was hard enough; but the work seemed to increase tenfold when it was time for Halloween. This time of year meant the creeps and the weirdos came out in full force, leaving Greg and the rest of the night shift team to pick up the pieces after more gruesome than usual murders and robberies committed by people wearing ridiculous costumes.

Greg was taking care of a robbery which had happened at the store of a Psychic. A small bell rung when the CSI opened the door and Greg became immediately engrossed in the strange crystals, potions and what appeared to be weapons on display. An old woman came through a beaded curtain and smiled a toothless grin at the young CSI. She was a stereotypical Psychic if Greg has ever seen one.

Not forgetting his manners though, the young CSI smiled back "Hello ma'am. I'm Greg Sanders from the crime lab, you called about a robbery?"

"Yes, yes my dear, but that's not important right now" the woman said with a wave of dismissal, causing the mound of bangles on her wrist to give a rhythmic jingle. Greg gave her a confused look. "Come this way Gregory Hojem…"

"It's…Sanders" Greg said, although he paused for a moment. Had he mentioned his other name at some point?

The older woman smiled "I know everyone who comes from a spiritual background"

Greg sighed and rolled his eyes "Not this again" he mumbled folding his arms "Ma'am…"

"Please, call me Prudence"

"Okay, Prudence…I've had people telling me all my life that I'm special because I've apparently inherited some psychic stuff off my Grandmother" Greg explained "but it's not true, okay, I'm not special and I never will be"

Prudence smiled at him a little sadly "Everyone is special in their own way, dear, you just have to realise you are too, embrace your abilities"

Greg sighed sadly "I appreciate you trying to boost my confidence or whatever it is you're doing, but I'd like to get on with my job now, which I barely get credited for, let alone for having psychic powers…"

Prudence raised her hands in defeat "Alright my dear, I'll leave you be…for now. They took everything from the register and some of the crystals they believed to be of worth."

"Okay, thank you" Greg said with a small smile. He didn't mean to seem snide before, but he chose science over the supernatural along time ago, and he wasn't going to change that.

Prudence smiled and left, heading back behind the beaded curtain. Walking over to the shelf, she pulled out a book, and flipped through the dusty pages until she found the one she wanted. She smiled and tapped a finger on the printed words.

"If this doesn't make you special, Gregory Hojem, then I don't know what will…"

The next night, Nick, Sara and Greg decided to go to the diner and grab a bite to eat before heading to work. Greg's stomach kept rumbling, and he found himself feeling hungrier than he ever remembered.

"I'll have the steak please…the biggest you have….and keep it juicy" Greg requested as the waitress took their orders. Nick and Sara gave him a shocked look after she'd left "What?" Greg shrugged.

"You finally putting some weight on your skinny ass?" Nick teased.

Greg smirked at him "I'm hungry, okay, and I want meat…lots of meat" he nearly started drooling at the thought, and licked his lips.

Once the food was brought, Greg's eyes bulged and he could barely contain himself. He started ravaging at the steak, taking big bites and barely giving himself time to breathe in-between mouthfuls.

"Chew, Greg!" Sara scolded him as she put down her veggie burger.

"Yeah man, your mom never teach you table manners?" Nick asked.

Greg rolled his eyes "whatever" he said with his mouth full, but started to take smaller bites, just for his friends' sakes.

As they reached their scene for the night, Greg found himself coming over itchy all of a sudden, and kept scratching the back of his head.

Nick shot him a look. "You got nits or something?"

"No" Greg snapped, sounding more aggressive than he should have done "Sorry" he mumbled when he saw the shocked look on Nick's face.

"What is with you tonight?" Sara asked, and Greg just shrugged.

They reached the porch of the house, when a fat ginger cat lazily sat down, blocking their way. Greg felt a sudden bout of anger coming over him, and found himself gritting his teeth and growling at the cat, causing the thing to screech and run away. Nick and Sara shared a look, before staring dumbfounded at Greg.

"What?" he said incredulously "It moved didn't it?" he argued and stepped into the house. Nick and Sara followed speechlessly.

"Where did Griss say the bodies are?" Nick asked as they walked into the hall.

Greg sniffed the air "This way" he said without further explanation, and led them up the stairs.

Sara sniffed too "I don't smell anything, do you?" she asked Nick. The Texan shrugged and shook his head. Sara held a confused frown as she followed Greg up the stairs.

Even when they were outside the room, Sara and Nick still couldn't smell anything, and so were bewildered as to how Greg managed to sense it from downstairs.

"Don't just stand there then" Greg joked as his two friends' seemed frozen at the door looking baffled, although, Greg couldn't understand why…

Greg was sent home early from the crime scene because he'd flipped out at the cat again and nearly kicked it down the stairs. Nick said he was going crazy from lack of rest, and so forced Greg to go home and sleep.

The CSI sighed as he looked at the full moon outside his bedroom window whilst getting changed. He thought about what Prudence had said last night, and wondered if there was some truth, maybe he was a somebody… No, don't be ridiculous Greg thought downheartedly as he lay down in his bed, and was soon fast asleep.

Greg woke up only an hour or so later to find his nose twitching. He could smell someone cooking meat not far away, and thought he'd love a piece. Yawning, Greg didn't recognise the sound which came out of his mouth; it was somewhat wild and closer to a howl. Greg frowned; he did feel a little strange. He went to rub his eyes, but found the task more difficult than it should be.

Greg froze. Those were not his hands which he could perfectly see in the pitch black, no, those were paws, and they appeared to be attached to him. Greg freaked out and rolled off the bed, landing on the floor with a thud, again, he howled, and then picked himself up on all fours. Wait? Why all fours!?

Greg hurried over to his full length mirror and the horrifying image before him made him cry out, but it wasn't a scream, it was a series of frantic barks. There, staring back at him was not Greg Sanders, but a dark brown furred wolf, with piercing eyes, pointed ears, sharp teeth and claws.

Oh my God, what is happening!? Greg thought, his ability to speak now clearly lost. I need help…shit…no one will know it's me… that crazy witch lady, I bet she did this to me! God, this seriously can't be happening, this just isn't possible!

As Greg bounded from the room, and hurried down the stairs, he was grateful he'd left the living room window open so he could climb out. He had to get to Prudence and fast, to make her undo whatever she'd done. He had to be discrete though, if anyone saw him he'd surely be shot.

Greg quickly dashed off down the street remaining in the shadows…maybe he shouldn't have been so quick to pick science over supernatural after all…

Sara and Nick were walking down an alley on their way back to the lab after going out for coffee. Suddenly, two men jumped out from the shadows, one of them grabbed Sara and pinned her arms behind her back, whilst the other forced Nick up against the wall.

"Hand over your money!" the man restraining Nick commanded.

"Alright, just don't hurt her" Nick pleaded as he took out his wallet.

The man holding Sara smiled "Oh, why would I want to hurt such a pretty thing?" he sniffed Sara's hair, and the female CSI turned away in disgust.

Suddenly, a deep snarl like a chainsaw sounded at the end of the alley, and they all looked to see the dark outline of a four-legged creature running towards them; a dog by the looks of it. The beast pounded at the man holding Sara and knocked him to the ground, baring his teeth wildly. The man holding Nick totally freaked and ran off, whilst the other man just screamed. The dog finally let him go and remained growling in threat until the men disappeared.

"Sara, get away" Nick said his eyes wide as he dragged the woman back. "That's a freakin' wolf!"

"I don't think he wants to hurt us" Sara said calmly "he saved us after all." She reached out a tentative hand, and the wolf came forward and nuzzled into it, seemingly giving a sigh of content.

"I'm calling animal control" Nick said pulling out his phone, the whole thing was making him uneasy.

"Thank you" Sara said softly to the wolf. She looked into the beasts eyes…there was something unsettlingly familiar about them…

After hearing Nick mention animal control, the wolf seemed to panic a little, and ran off into the night once more. Sara didn't even try to stop him.

Greg was panting wildly as he left the alley. He'd been heading to Prudence's store when he'd spotted his two best friends being attacked, and he'd be damned if he didn't do anything to try and stop it. But the strange thing was, Sara seemed calm about the whole thing, almost like she knew, and Greg couldn't help but be pleased with himself for saving them.

He stopped at the door and started scratching at it, seeing the light still on inside. The passage soon opened and Prudence stared down at Greg. "Ah, I've been expecting you" she smiled, and stepped aside to let him in.

Greg went to the back room, through the beaded curtains, and sat impatiently on the floor.

"Do you understand why I did this to you?" Prudence asked as she entered too. Greg nodded "So now you know, being special can come in many different forms, whether you're psychic, a werewolf, or simply a CSI" she smiled "Embrace your talents and your abilities, and you'll realise you're more appreciated than you know"

Greg tilted his head, and Prudence knew what he was asking her to do. Grabbing her book, and reading out another spell, Greg Sanders soon stood tall in his human form once more.

"Are you angry?" Prudence asked.

"Actually, I'm just grateful I still have clothes on" Greg replied, and the woman laughed. "It was…an experience, I'll give you that, but please don't do it again" he begged.

"That depends, do you truly believe in yourself now?"

Greg thought how Sara seemed to appreciate him, even though he'd been a wolf "Yes"

"Well then, my job is done…although, I'd appreciate if this stayed just between us"

"Your secret is safe with me" Greg said with a small smile "We mystic beings have to stick together, right?"

Prudence laughed "That's very true…your Nana Olaf would have been proud of you…especially if you embrace your supernatural roots"

Greg laughed lightly "Well I certainly did that tonight…and yes…I think she might be…"

So yes, quite an unusual story, but I'll give any prompt ago, so I hope you enjoyed this very different kind of story XD
