Chapter 19 - The best laid plans

Dumbledore was pleased. He had placated James and Lilly with the return of their daughter and had managed to secure Bulgaria's help with the war against Voldemort. Of course they didn't know of the prophecy or Scarlett's full involvement in the war.

But, casualties of war cannot be avoided. Once Scarlett had birthed an heir for the Bulgarian national then it was simple to separate them allowing Scarlett to focus on defeating Voldemort and then she would be shipped off to Bulgaria to live a life full of Children and dignitaries and parties.

But first thing first they must arrange a wedding then everything will be put into motion. And Scarlett will agree lest they be forced to go to plan B. If Scarlett refuses and the marriage be put into jeopardy then they must bind her.

He would offer himself, of course, with him being a powerful Wizard then he would be able to have the strength to contain her. Then of course he would help her in the final battle between good and evil.

It is all for the greater good of course.

James was happy. His daughter was coming back! His little girl! He was bouncing in his office as he sat doing his paperwork as though his bum was made of rubber.

Sure, he made mistakes and he knew he would need to do something for her to get her forgiveness. Maybe he could buy her a new broom. Daniel always loved it when he did that.

He knew she wasn't mad at him. Not really anyways, no it was all Sirius's fault. James growled internally when he thought of him. He made Scarlett turn against them! After all he did for him!

And then, when he had died he had tried to pass on dark objects to HIS daughter! He thanked Merlin that Dumbledore spotted the object before it could be passed on fully.

And now he had accepted a marriage contract from Bulgaria. He was lucky that the national was interested in marrying his daughter. This was a good thing after all. Every ones daughter was married by age 18. Now she would too.

It was all good for James. He was up for a promotion, his daughter was coming home and now there was to be a Potter wedding.

Life was good.

Lilly was happy. Her baby girl was coming home. Now she could talk to her about all the things in her life like her marriage to the Bulgarian delegate.

After all she was her mother and that...Arse Sirius Black couldn't have given her daughter what she needed. A female role model.

And who better than her? She was smart and pretty (As James often reminded her) and was a good mother. She could teach Scarlett how to take care of a child so that when the time arrived for her to have her own child she was prepared.

Now, she wasn't saying she was the best mother. After all she had allowed Sirius Black to steal her away from her. Even after they had banned him from the home they shared he had continued to turn her against them.

She didn't blame Scarlett. No she blamed Sirius Black. Luckily that...dog got what he deserved. Some people had criticized them for being 'heartless' and 'cruel' for not attending his funeral but after what he did to their family he was still lucky he had a body left to bury.

She still contemplated whether she should dig him up and destroy him again. But she knew that it would really be a heartless thing to do. After all he was dead, So instead she settled for hating him in private and never mentioning his name again.

So, if someone chose to ask, yes. Lilly was indeed happy that her daughter was coming home and that she was being married to a very important man and into a very wealthy family.

So, yes she was happy.

Today is the day Albus though The plan is all going accordingly and nothing could ruin it. Smiling he watched the couple standing at the alter.

Then with two words the best laid plans lay to ruin.

"I object"
