Hello, my beautiful readers! Sorry about how long it's taking me to update, but since in about two weeks, I'll be gone for almost an entire month, I'm trying to get a bunch of chapters prewritten. Thanks for bearing with me, and Congrats to iamking, Emilia, Iamthatawesome, Green bunny, EX3451, Bluedog197, gwb620, moonlight46, Kaarlinaa, and Zinnia99! I guess I did make it kind of easy, but I wanted you guys to figure it out. To all who didn't; her password was 'Beastboy Logan' backwards. Enjoy the chapter!
He hesitantly opened his eyes. He half expected to see the rocky, crag-like paths that dominated Raven's mind the last time he had taken an unwilling visit. Instead, he seemed to be laying on something soft, and everything was a startling green.
Every thing was strangely silent as well. The only thing he could hear was the sound of someone else's breathing, even with his keen hearing. Wait, someone else's breathing?
He sat up and looked around. The room disturbed him, to say the least. Upon closer inspection, the walls were plastered in posters of himself. Some were official merchandise, while others looked eerily like photos the team had taken, cropped so only he was visible.
What is this place? He wondered. This wasn't her mind as he remembered it. It seemed more fit for one of his hardcore fangirls.
His search finally reached a doorway. A woman leaned against the frame, with her burgundy hood covering her face, and the cloak gently draped around her shoulders.. No, it can't be. He thought. Raven doesn't have an emoticlone with a cloak that color... I think.
"Hello, Beastboy. Finally decide to come and visit me?" She whispered, and removed the hood obscuring her face. It was indeed Raven, or at least a version of her.
"Where am I?" He inquired, glancing about the room again.
"You're lucky you're cute, because you sure aren't the brightest crayon in the box." She chuckled huskily "You are in Raven's mind."
"And what part of her mind is this?" He asked pointedly.
"You're in my domain." She sounded amused.
"And, who are you, exactly?"
"I am Raven." She replied simply, but with a smirk. "Although I'm sure you meant something more along the lines of 'What part of Raven are you?' To answer your question, Hon, I go by many names. Some mistakenly call me Passion, and others even more foolishly identify me as Love. Both are wrong, but they are apart of my... Personality. I am behind every 'overly attached girlfriend', and many people rather aptly consider me 'need' and 'clingy-ness,' but both don't quite fit. One of my more accurate names is 'demonic lust' and I'll admit, it is rather ironic, but that isn't my name either."
Although he was terrified of this doppleganger's demeanor, he couldn't help but exasperatedly think. Come on, spit it out already.
She slowly advanced on him, deliberately placing one foot in front of the other, until she sat down next to him, the bed making a small creak.
Hold on, this is a bed? He glanced down, carefully shifting. It was actually a bed. Why would this be here? Do the emoticlones need to sleep?
He was snapped out of his thoughts when she placed a hand on his thigh, and trailed a finger down his chest. The doppelgänger leaned in closer, her lips just grazing his ear, and whispered. "Of all my names, I choose to go by Obsession."
He bolted. It was like several alarms were ringing in his head, and a little voice was screaming "May day! May day! "
He tore out of the room, and quickly found the exit. Instead of giving chase, Obsession simply laughed. "You can't hide from me in my own mind! I'll find you eventually."
Something was wrong. There was something off about that woman. Despite what she claimed, he couldn't believe that she was a natural part of Raven. Obsessions were unhealthy, and Raven was definitely not obsessed with him, unlike what Obsession's room would lead an outsider to believe.
He needed to get to the bottom of his. His legs were beginning to tire, and he could only hope the next emoticlone he ran into would be able to explain things to him.
She tried to settle into state of meditation, but something was nagging the back of her mind. No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't push it away, or at the vary least identify it.
Even without the mysterious worry in her mind, guilt was beginning to gnaw at her stomach.
She knew he hadn't been trying to hurt her, and in all honesty, the scratches weren't very painful, physically. She had definitely sustained worse injuries during fights.
No, her problem was how his mere presence was about enough to make her lose control of every emotion she had. It baffled her immensely. Sure, prior to today, he was one of the few who could sneak emotions past the dam that was her mental resolve, but today, it was like he had opened every floodgate.
The worst part was how completely unaware he was of what he could do to her. She wondered if Beastboy realized just how suggestive he sounded, telling her to surrender. He had made her skin positively crawl with those few words, and she wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing. Maybe both.
With each passing moment, it became clearer that neither of her internal annoyances planned on subsiding anytime soon. Maybe I should go find him, and apologize, or something. She wondered. The knot of remorse weighing her down loosened with the consideration.
She carefully opened the door leading back into the tower, weary of the other titans. The last thing she needed was to be harasses by one of her teammates, at least not while her emotions were feeling so raw. The lights were unnaturally dim. Rounding the corner, she was faced with the actuality of the destruction. The tower looked totally and completely trashed. Did I do this? I hope no one got hurt. Where is everyone?
"Beastboy!" She yelled frantically, although her voice still held its signature monotone. "Starfire! Robin! Cyborg! Where are you?" What is wrong with me? This wasn't normal, not even in her most violent of outbursts. Maybe they went to get the spare lights and cleaning supplies from the basement.
She raced down the steps, as the elevator wasn't working. Out of the corner of her eye, some thing caught her attention, or rather, it's absence did.
"The T-car is gone." She muttered. Turning heel, she sprinted back up the steps. They had to have left a note somewhere.
She eventually found a small scrap of paper tacked to the fridge.
"Dear Raven, In the case that BB somehow forgets where we went, the Titans East called with an emergency. Everyone besides you two went to help fight the new Villian. We'll be back ASAP. -Robin."
"Ugh, I'm alone in the tower, with only Beastboy, How wonderful." She sighed. Where could he have wondered off to now? She carefully picked through the glass to get to the camera room. With any luck, it'd still be working.
YAY! I finally got a new chapter finished. Thank you, everyone, for being so patient. I'm sorry it's short, but I've been having a mini-block, and longer chapters have been a struggle. Anyways, I hop you enjoyed! Be sure o let me know what you think in the reviews! :)
