A/N: Hello my lovelies! Thank you so much for the reviews on the last chapter, always make me smile :) This chapter is for Marymel who asked for a story with Sara, Morgan, Nick and Greg friendship. So here you are, I made something which I hope is quite dramatic out of it ;)

Summary – After being captured at a crime scene, Sara, Morgan, Nick and Greg are scared to learn one of them will die every ten minutes unless they can be saved…

A Sick Man's Game

Sara and Morgan were working downstairs in the house when it happened. Sara was knelt over the body taking some pictures, whilst Morgan was dusting the window frame for fingerprints. Both CSIs were so caught up in their work and chatting trivially, that neither of them noticed the two men who began to sneak into the room.

It was Sara they grabbed first; the man wrapped an arm around her neck, holding a rag to her mouth and the CSI let out a muffled scream to try and warn Morgan. The blonde whipped around at the sound of the scuffle, but then she too was leapt on by the second man, a rag held to her mouth.

Both CSIs struggled, trying to get to their weapons, trying to somehow alert Nick and Greg who were upstairs, so that the male CSIs could help them, but also warn them about the danger so they wouldn't get caught too. But, no matter how much Morgan and Sara struggled, it did no good, both men were much stronger than them, and there was something on the rags which was making them feel drowsy. Eventually, Morgan and Sara both lost the fight, and started to slump to the floor unconscious. They just hoped Nick and Greg would be alright.

"Did you hear that?" Greg asked Nick when he thought he heard a soft thud coming from downstairs.

"No" Nick replied; he'd been too distracted by the flash of his camera.

"Well…I'm going to check on the girls, just to make sure" Greg told him and left the room. "Morgan! Sara!" the CSI called as he bounded down the stairs, but he was troubled by the lack of reply.

Greg froze in shock when he found two men dragging his unconscious friends across the hall; Greg couldn't remember the last time he'd felt so scared, yet so angry.

"Get the hell off them you bastards!" he yelled, but then realised today of all days had to be the one he didn't carry his gun.

"Greg?" Nick's worried yet confused tone came from the top of the stairs as he heard his friend yelling.

"Nick, run!" Greg called, but then one of the men came up behind him, and started to knock him out with the chloroform.

Nick arrived to the shock of both Sara and Morgan being unconscious, and Greg struggling with a brute of a man. There was a certain anger which boiled within Nick at the sight of his three younger siblings suffering and being attacked.

The Texan hurried down the stairs, drawing his gun as he did so. Greg tried to warn him that the second man was waiting behind the banister, ready to jump Nick, but it was too late. Nick was soon being subdued by the chloroform too, and then all the CSIs were lost.

Sara was the first to come around; she felt so unbelievably tired and confused that at first she didn't want to wake up. But then it all came flashing back to her and she snapped her head up, eyes wide and breathing heavily with fear.

She was in a basement of some kind, and across the room was Nick and Greg, sat slumped unconscious on some chairs, with their hands tied behind their backs. Beside Sara was Morgan, and it appeared that the blond CSI was just about coming to as well.

"Morgan…" Sara whispered in encouragement; she thought it best to be quiet so their attackers wouldn't know they were awake just yet. "Morgan, it's okay, wake up" she encouraged.

"Sara…" the blond groaned as he her head rolled a little. Morgan felt so lethargic she was sure she'd been drugged, but Sara needed her to wake up, so she rather reluctantly opened her eyes. "Wh-where are we?" she asked.

"We're in a basement" Sara told her as she scanned the walls looking for possible means of escape "but I think we're still at the crime scene…" she turned to look at Morgan again "You feeling okay?" Sara asked; the younger CSI looked very pale.

"Yeah…I'm fine" Morgan told her "Just…just a bit scared I guess" she confessed.

"That's okay" Sara told her with a comforting smile "I am too"

Morgan gave her a small smile of appreciation and then turned her attention to Nick and Greg "Why haven't they woken up yet?" she asked worriedly.

"They will soon" Sara assured her.

As if on cue, Greg let out a small groan as he tried to stretch his arms to free the cramp, but found himself incapacitated. Nick's eyes started to flutter open and he could still sense the smell of the chloroform lingering around his nostrils. This could only mean big trouble.

"Guys, you have to wake up!" Morgan begged with them quietly "We've gotta get out of here, together" she stressed.

"Those bastards" Nick seethed as he tried pulling at his restraints, but it was no use.

"Calm down" Greg told him gently "We just gotta think"

Nick finally gave up struggling and sunk back in his seat with a cry of defeat. The other's looked at him worriedly and he bowed his head, seeming ashamed.

"I'm sorry" he mumbled.

"What for?" Sara said in confusion "This isn't your fault Nick, we were all caught…"

"I…I should have done something!" the Texan continued to berate himself. He was the last one to be caught, he'd actually had his gun drawn…and yet he'd let all three people he loved like younger siblings get hurt.

"It's not your responsibility to protect us, Nick" Morgan told him delicately. "We appreciate that you do, but we all look out for each other anyways because that's what families do"

"Yeah" Greg agreed, even though he himself felt guilty; he'd been the only one not carrying a gun after all "We're in this together now, and we get out of this together somehow…no playing the hero" he added with a slightly stern look in Nick's direction.

"You know you'd do the same if you had the chance…" Nick mumbled in response.

Greg was about to react, but the then the door of the basement opened and two men came striding down. All of the CSIs recognised them to be the men who'd captured them, and stared daggers in their direction.

"Pathetic, the lot of you" one man said as he began to stride up and down the middle of the room, looking at each CSI in turn. "I can't believe we caught you all, the two of us, against four of you, three of you armed! But there's always one who lets the side down isn't there" he added with a smirk at Greg, and the CSI looked away with guilt written over his face.

"Don't listen to him, Greg" Sara jumped in "you could never let us down…"

"How very touching" the man said with a roll of his eyes.

"Now we don't have time for proper introductions…" the second man interrupted "But you can call me Ed and this is Matt" he said indicating to the other man.

"Yes, and I have devised a little game for you to play" Matt smirked, posing his fingers in a pyramid-like fashion. "You see, I don't like people who meddle in my business, and therefore you must be severely punished…I have alerted your friends of your capture and have requested a ransom. For every ten minutes I don't have that money…a CSI dies" he said with a sadistic smirk.

Nick started struggling again then, not caring how the rope cut into his skin "The only person who'll be dying today is you!" he yelled "you touch any of them and I swear to God…"

"Don't even try and threaten us" Ed said with narrowed eyes "And you know what, for being so audacious, you can decide who dies first…"

"Me" Nick said immediately.

"What did I just tell you?!" Greg seethed at him angrily.

"Nick, you can't!" Morgan cried as tears started streaming down her face.

"Aah, I knew you'd say that" Matt waved his finger "Either choose one of them, or we'll kill them all at once, right in front of you very eyes" he threatened.

"No…" Nick said in defiance "Why can't I just…"

"Nick, stop it" Sara warned him "We've said from the start, we either all get out together, or we all don't" Greg and Morgan nodded in agreement, even though the thought scared the hell out of them.

"Well, that's no fun" Ed said, striding up and down the room again "I guess…we'll have to choose then, and it's not gunna be you" he said pointing at Nick, who was visibly shaking with rage, but also fear for the life of his friends.

"So let's see … the feisty one" Matt said going to study Sara closer; the glare Sara gave him could have burned holes in his skin. "The beautiful one" he said moving along to Morgan and picking up one of her blond waves, rubbing it between his fingers.

"Get your filthy hands off her" Greg yelled protectively as he saw Morgan trying to shy away.

"and that brings us to you…" Ed said as he went and stood behind Greg. "You come across as the cocky one…"

"That's just what dumb people call smart people, you asshole" Greg jibed.

Ed got angry at this and grabbed the CSIs hair, forcing his head back. "And for that, you die first" he seethed.

"No!" Sara and Morgan cried in unison, whilst Nick just looked extremely pissed.

Matt looked down at his watch "Well what do you know, first ten minutes is almost up, we best get ready" he said rubbing his hands gleefully.

With that Ed pulled back his jacket and drew out one of the CSI's guns "You wanna say your goodbyes?" he smirked.

Greg looked around at his friend's worried face. "No…" he mumbled; it'd be too hard "Just…just take my death as enough, and let them all go when I'm gone…"

"Greg…" Morgan whimpered; how could this be happening, how could they let this be happen?

"Just kill me instead" Sara tried in weak protest; even the usually strong woman was scared beyond belief.

"No, Sara, it's okay" Greg said quietly, and then Ed pointed the gun at his head.

"One down" the maniac smirked as he took the safety off the gun" three to go…"

A gun shot sounded…two, actually. Morgan screamed and Sara looked away, whilst Nick just looked wide eyed in confusion. And Greg…Greg was still breathing, because it was not him who'd been shot, but Ed and Matt who fell, after two officers had managed to sneak into the basement and take them from behind.

Finn and Russell were there too, and they immediately started untying their friends. As soon as they were free, Morgan and Sara ran to Greg and hugged him tightly all with tears streaming down their faces, shaking uncontrollably.

"I can't believe we almost lost you" Morgan whispered into his shoulder.

"Don't scare us like that again" Sara scolded him lightly.

"I know, I'm sorry you guys" Greg whispered.

Eventually the girls pulled away, and they all looked at Nick who had his arms folded across his chest in a stoic expression "What happened to not playing the hero?" the Texan said "I know you wound them up on purpose…"

"You're mad I didn't let them kill you?" Greg asked incredulously.

"No, Greg, I'm mad because…because you were gunna let them kill you!" Nick said.

Greg didn't say anything else, just gave a small smile before walking to Nick and hugging the older man. Nick buried his face in his younger brother's shoulder and let the tears slip.

"It's okay" Greg told him as he rubbed the Texan's back "We're all okay now"

"Yeah, because we made it together" Morgan reminded them with a small smile "Just like we said we would"

"And we're always going to be there for each other" Sara added "Just like a family should be"

I'm so sorry if the ending appears a bit rushed, but I have set myself a 2,000 word limit. But, I really liked writing it, I love portraying a sibling bond between the 'younger' CSIs. I hope you enjoyed!
