Odd stood outside the theatre, Naomi standing beside him. They entered the building silently, everyone else cheering with a passion around them. They worked their way through the massive crowd of hundreds, finally coming out near the front of the stage.
"I've always liked standing at concerts." Naomi said, looking out at the empty stage. "It feels more energetic."
After a moment without response from Odd, she looked over at him, his head angled down, his usual smile faded away.
"Odd, are you okay?" She asked, causing him to look towards her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just..." Odd sighed, the emotional weight on his shoulders feeling heavier than any physical weight he has ever had to carry. "I had a fight with one of friends. He just has trouble listening to other people sometimes."
Naomi gave him a faint smile of understanding, then grabbed his hand. "Don't worry about it now, Odd. Just enjoy the concert with me."
Odd gave her a reassuring smile, but inside, deep down, he was worried more than ever before. One simple thing had ruined a strong relationship, and his strongest friendship. This opened Odd's eyes to how fragile his world really was, everything hanging on by a thin string; every string having it's own knife, ready to be cut at a moments notice.

*CRACK*
Jeremy slammed his fist on the keyboard, all the rage that had built up in him over the last few hours finally behind released.
"It didn't work! Again!" Jeremy yelled, putting his head down on the keyboard.
Aelita placed her hand on Jeremy's back, rubbing it softly.
"Jeremy, you need a break. You've been working non-stop for hours."
Jeremy lifted his head and began typing again.
"I don't have time for break." Jeremy said, looking straight into the monitor.
Aelita moved closer to him, placing her hand on his right shoulder.
"Jeremy, you need to stop obsessing over your work. You are a kid you know?" Jeremy didn't respond. "Why don't we go out, do something fun?"
"I don't have time for fun, Aelita!" Jeremy lashed out, instantly regretting what he said.
"Aelita... I'm sorry..." Jeremy turned his chair to face her.
"Jeremy... you don't have to work twenty-four seven. You can spend time doing other things... you can spend time with me."
Jeremy took off his glasses, placing them on the keyboard. He stood up from his chair, the two now standing close to each other.
"Aelita, you wanna know why I've spent so much time over the last few days working? The last time X.A.N.A. attacked, when we were stuck in the sewers... all that stood between you and X.A.N.A. was me. When I think back to that, I can't help but imagine what could have happened if they didn't deactivate the tower in time." Tears began to run down Jeremy's face. "I'm not good enough... I can't protect you. That's why I work all the time, that's why I can't have fun like everyone else, that's why I can't take breaks..." Aelita started to cry at this point as well.
"All I want in this world is for you to be safe, and back there... I couldn't keep you safe."
"Aelita... I don't want to lose you..."
Both teens were sobbing quiet yet heavy sobs, now reaching out to join in embracing each other.
"Jeremy... you're all the protection I need."
Aelita paused for a moment, their embrace tightening.
"Jeremy, I... I love you."
"Aelita, I love you too."
They both stood their, safe in each other's arms, the world around them nonexistent, everything else forgotten. All that existed was love.
But all that was broken by a series of beeps from the computer.

"Odd, isn't this great!" Naomi yelled through the cheers of the crowd.
"Yeah, I guess." Odd said in a saddened tone.
"Come on, Odd, let's dance." Naomi said, grabbing his hand.
Suddenly, Odd felt something in his pocket vibrate.
"Hold on, Naomi." Odd said, fumbling around in his pocket for his phone. He pulled it out and answered.
"Hello?"
"Odd, it's Jeremy. X.A.N.A. alert."
"Alright, I'll be at the factory ASAP. I'll try to get Ulrich too, hold on a sec."
Odd muted his phone and began to look around the building for Ulrich. He noticed someone who looked like him in the distance and started to walk that way.
"Odd, where are you going?" Naomi asked.
"Sorry, I gotta go!" He yelled through the background noise of screaming fans.
He walked for a few seconds, pushing through many people before he found Ulrich standing with an overdressed Sissi.
"Ulrich!" Odd yelled as he got closer.
When he reached him, Ulrich turned to him and pointed a finger out.
"Odd, I don't want to talk to you right now."
"Yeah, leave us alone you food loving freak." Sissi hissed, her red dress reflecting every light in the room due to the small plastic pieces covering it.
"Ulrich, we don't have time for this. Our little 'friend' has shown up." Odd said, to Ulrich's immediate understanding.
From under the ground, a black ghost came up and entered Sissi's body. She shook for a moment before raising into the air, yellow lightning surrounding her body as she rose.
Odd and Ulrich looked up in fear, frozen for a moment before Odd un-muted his phone and raised it to his head.
"Jeremy, we have a big problem."
"What's the problem?" Jeremy asked.
"I think Sissi just went Super Saiyan."
