Hello sweeties, guess who's muse is being a good little girl?
Taylor9901, I completely agree with you about the dinner and movie being too cliche. Definitely not having that :D
Usual warnings: I'm a big girl who uses big girl words and talks about big girl things. So if cussing and talks of anything sexual offends you, leave now. No hard feelings.
I'm not SM, don't wanna be, not trying to be. I just love her characters so I use them to bring my own stories to life.
Enjoy. ~ Riney
Chapter 48
BPOV
Emmett had gotten all secretive over the past few days.
It was downright ridiculous.
Here we were going at warp speed snail pace...and trust me, adding warp speed to a snail pace ain't saying shit...I'm horny half the time for some odd reasons. Hormones or some other bullshit like that.
Alls I know, is that I'm horny all day, every day.
Enter the frustration.
I live with a gorgeous man and even though we were just forming a tentative friendship, I was a hot blooded woman and I knew quality produce when I saw it. And Emmett McCarty was definitely quality produce. Still, I couldn't get laid.
I'm sure I had cobwebs growing down there and a bush that would rival the world's largest rain forest. God, I really needed a pick me upper. Alice and Rosalie were busy with work and their own personal lives and we hadn't been able to arrange our spa day.
I was going crazy and our, Emmett and I, budding friendship, was filling a large void in my spirit. Which brings us back to the secretive crap.
Oh we still talked, and spent time together, but he stopped touching me.
Gah!
I didn't even realized I enjoyed it until it wasn't there to enjoy anymore.
Dammit.
I had gone to bed angry every night. Last night had been no different.
Why had I been angry? Well, because when I went to kiss the fucking gorgeous asshole, he pulled away, patted my arm and headed into his own room.
Fucking patted my arm!
Can you believe that shit? Arghhh!
I blinked my eyes and let them slowly adjust to the morning light streaming into the bedroom. Wow, we actually had a sunny day so far.
I turned over in the bed, or tried to at least. Something was blocking my turn, so I shifted on my side and turned around to find a covered silver tray with a single purple rose lying next to it. I gingerly took the rose up and brought it to my nose, taking a deep whiff.
Surprisingly, my stomach didn't churn at the scent.
Prejudice baby knew that her daddy gave me this rose. This rose that meant things I wouldn't begin to imagine. I placed the rose back on the tray and lifted it, immediately hit with the aroma of a heavenly breakfast.
A glass of cranberry juice, a mug of steaming hot Swiss Miss hot chocolate, two of my favorite breakfast things. Let's see if he got all three? My eyes flitted over the plate, an involuntary smile spreading across my face, as I took in the sight of three fluffy buttermilk pancakes.
In the next instant tears were filling my eyes and I blinked rapidly to stay their flow, taking a deep breath, I calmed down. I lifted my fork and began digging in, what can I say? At six months pregnant I was always hungry.
Halfway through the meal I noticed the note.
I grabbed it with my free hand and read it quickly.
I was to enjoy my meal, take a shower and wait by the door for someone to pick me up.
What sort of cryptic shit was this?
I stayed there for a few minutes, finishing up my breakfast, all the while contemplating if I would follow the instructions written down for me, or if I would just ignore them and go back to sleep.
Of course my curiosity got the best of me and I was showered and outside waiting in fifteen minutes flat. Emmett had already left apparently, because there was no sign of life in the cottage other than myself. He left without saying goodbye. This fact made me frown, and then deepen as I wondered why I was bothered by this.
When the dark car rolled up to the door I watched as the driver got out and came around to open my door.
"Good morning Ms. Swan," he said bowing slightly, his voice formal and direct.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked, foregoing the formalities.
"I'm afraid I'm not at liberty to say miss," he said, his facial expression giving nothing away.
Grrr.
I got into the car with a huff and continued to fume as we drove away.

EmPOV
The last few days had been the hardest days of my life thus far.
Distancing myself from Bella was hard on both of us. Don't think I didn't notice the flashes of hurt in her eyes when I shot down her every attempt at anything physical between us
It was hard but necessary.
I needed this day to go perfectly.
Since I had never dated before I was pretty much winging it. I got a good set of pointers from James which helped a lot. Gee, what would I do without the guy as my wingman? I had wracked my brain thinking of a good date and what it entailed.
Dinner and a movie were far too cliche and Bella didn't strike me as the flashy kinda girl. She didn't particularly fancy getting dressed up and rubbing shoulders with the members of high society. So using the intel I had gotten from James I came up with an idea of my own.
Naturally, since I never did anything small, I planned a Date Day.
Yup.
Cue smug smile.
I was going to take Bella on a date all day.
I had it planned to perfection starting with the breakfast in bed.
If everything was going according to plan she was already on her way to the spa appointment. I heard her complaining about looking like a fat, greasy haired cow and other girly shit. So that was phase one of my day: Amplify Bella Beauty.
While I waited for her to be finished, I went to the office and took care of a few matters before clearing out for the day. I noticed how my secretary's eyes widened when I smiled at her and asked her how her morning was going.
She was actually too shocked to answer so I laughed and told her I was heading out for the day. As I drove along, I looked at my reflection in the rear view mirror and was shocked myself.
When was the last time I looked happy, was happy?
I shook the thoughts from my head and continued on to collect Bella. When she walked through the glass door of the spa, my heart felt as if an anaconda had wrapped itself around it and started squeezing.
They were right about that saying.
Pregnant women do glow.
When she saw me, she raised a brow at me, a small smirk on her face.
I couldn't resist her even if I had been trying.
I walked over to her and tilted her chin up and slanted my lips over hers. I felt as though I had come home. Her taste intoxicated me and the smell of her freshly styled hair washed over me like a balm. Lavender.
Bella sighed and pulled away, a blissful smile on her face.
Simply beautiful.
I smiled and her eyes fluttered up to mine and then she smacked my arm.
"Ow!" I cried rubbing my arm. "What was that for?"
"That's for not kissing me for the past three days!" she cried, hitting me again. "And also for ruining my lipstick."
I threw my head back and laughed heartily before grabbing her around the waist and kissing her thoroughly. Baby didn't exactly appreciate me squishing her between us and started kicking up a storm. I rubbed my hand over Bella's stomach, hiding a smile at her sudden gasp as my fingers made contact with her stomach, "Hey little one, it's your daddy. I'm sorry for squishing you just now."
Almost immediately the fluttering slowed under my hand and a huge grin took over my face as I looked up at Bella, who in turn rolled her eyes and gave a loud groan.
"What?" I asked, the grin still in place.
"I'm being betrayed from within the womb!" she cried throwing up her hands in mock exasperation.
"She just likes my voice," I said tweaking Bella's nose with my fingers.
"This proves I'm having a girl," Bella grumbled. "She's falling for your charms even from the womb."
"You think I'm charming?"
"Shut up," she groused. "What is this all about?"
I rolled my eyes, "What you should've said is 'Thank you Emmett'," I said.
Stink eye.
"Thank you Emmett," she said, her teeth snapping together so hard I wonder if they chipped.
"I'm taking you on a date," I stated simply.
"And you have me getting ready now?" she asked.
"It's a Date Day," I said.
"Say what?" she had an adorably lost expression on her face.
I went on to explain to her that this was my first date real date since adulthood and I wanted to make it memorable.
"I can't believe you've never dated," she said as I led her to the car.
"Would you let that go?" I said with a groan.
She laughed, "Since you're doing so much to impress me," she smirked, "I'll let it go...for now."
We headed to the next location of the date.
An arcade house.
Bella squealed and beat me inside.
We played every game they had in the place, constantly battling for the top place. Bella won. She would not stop talking about it.
She ruffled my hair as we headed across the road to the bowling rink.
"You're cute when you pout."
I was going to pout all day.
We bowled for an hour, ending the game on a tie.
"Just so you know," Bella said as she buckled her seatbelt. "I let you win those last two games."
"Let me?!" I cried. "Bullshit."
"I didn't want to hear you bitching all day about being beat by a girl, twice."
"I'm so gonna get you," I said glaring at her playfully.
She just laughed and I found myself captivated by the sound.
"You need to laugh more often."
She looked over at me and murmured, "Hmm."
"Gonna tell me where we're going next?" she asked after a few moments of silence.
I shook my head, "You'll see. Are you feeling ok? Hungry?"
"Emmett," she said turning to fix me with a glare. "I'm pregnant not dead. I'm supposed to exercise and if I eat anything more before lunch I'm going to burst."
I chuckled, "I'm sorry."
Next location was a book fair. I had learnt from Edward that Bella was a bit of a book worm and anything to do with books, especially old books.
"Emmett..." she breathed as I opened her door.
"Hmm?" I asked watching her face attentively.
"Is this...is it really...are those books?" she finished her disjointed question.
"You like?"
She turned to me a weird look on her face, and then she whispered, "I'm really starting to fall in like with you."
I managed to contain the outburst I wanted to make and smiled instead, "Does that mean the date is going well?"
She tiptoed and brushed her lips against mine, "Yeah."
Touchdown!
