A/N So, I finished my Exams, and started College. I have been busy settling in, and I'm sorry about the wait. If there is anyone still reading this story. I'll try and update quicker from now on.
Sorry about this Lazy chapter. The next one will be better. Promise!
000- Slade Wilson-000

They were both comfortably sat in leather seats on Slade's private jet. Yes the man had a private jet, why wouldn't he? It wasn't as if the man struggled for money, the haunt was an example of that, while the furniture wasn't particularly extravagant, it was good quality, and there was a fair bit of tech around the place...and the training room...no expense had been spared there.
Slade had just quizzed Dick on the events prior to his arrival and frankly, he wasn't impressed.
"who were they?" He asked calmly.
"The H.I.V.E." The sullen boy replied.
"That band of misfits? that Blood calls criminals?" The man said, deep in thought. "well, I've been meaning to pay them a visit." He trailed off.
"There is really no-"
Slade cut him off before he had chance to say anything more. He was in a foul mood, and the boy? how could he even begin to justify them. If those teens had been there, Slade couldn't have guarantee they would leave alive, despite Slade's morals when it came to killing kids.
"I think there is, Dick, they pulled a knife."
"I'm fine..." The boy, protested, going quiet as Slade sent him a sharp look.
"Really?" Slade said wryly gesturing to the ugly purple mesh on Dicks cheek. The man suddenly let a small smirk grace his lips.
"You know," The man started conversationally. "I think I may have to invest in a tracer...or maybe one of those child Harnesses."
"Hey! No way!" Dick exclaimed.
The look on the boy's face was really quite priceless. His eyes were wide and his jaw had dropped.
"Well, it seems to be the only way I can make sure you don't wander off." Slade said with a smirk, amused with the reaction he was getting from his young charge. He saw a hopeful glint in the boy's eyes. Clearly he thought the man was joking. Well he wasn't. Not completely.
He laced his fingers together and rested his chin on them, leaning forward slightly.
"I'm serious about the tracer."
The boy huffed, sending the man an in dignified look. It took all of Slade's self controll not to laugh at Dick's antics. It really was quite adorable.
Slade watched as the young acrobat leaned back in his chair, sulking slightly. It was only a matter of moments before the boy dropped off, leaving Slade alone with his thoughts.
He thought about Dick. The boy was young and teachable. He had skill. There was no doubt about that. He was also loving, friendly and kind. Slade hoped that his hatred of Tony Zucco would break the boy. He needed to convince the boy that Zucco needed to die. The man had killed his parents. It was his right to take that piece of filth's life. Sometimes he thought it would be easy to do, other times he was not so sure.
The boy wasn't quite stable. He was incredibly conflicted, his interactions with Slade were just an example of that. Sometimes the boy was civil, treating the man almost like a surrogate father, then other times he hated him. Slade needed to make the boy trust him without a shadow of a doubt if he wanted to turn Dick into a loyal apprentice.
He looked across at the sleeping boy once more before leaning back in his chair, enjoing the silence of the rest of the Journey.
000-Dick Grayson-000

Dick awoke to Slade gently shaking his shoulder.
He yawned and tried to bury his head in his arm rest. He had had a relatively peaceful sleep.
No nightmares.
He wasn't sure why. Maybe it was the fact that he knew Slade was opposite him. That couldn't be true though, right? He couldn't feel safe with a mercenary watching him, could he? He certainly shouldn't do. For some reason though, he did.
The man had such a sense of power about him that Dick felt overwhelmed by it. There was no doubt in his mind that Slade was powerful. He had yet to see him in action but he knew the man was strong. Was that why he had been hoping the man would come and save him earlier? Why did he want the man to save him? He was a criminal and he had no reason to care about Dick. He had however seemed worried about him. Maybe it was just a cover up in front of Jason- acting like the caring father, frantic with worry. He hoped it was more than that. It would be nice to feel like someone cared.
"Five more minutes." He mumbles sleepily.
He heard A sigh come from the man, but took no notice. He was tired, and was actually having a nightmare free sleep.
"No, Dick. Up." Slade said firmly, his hand still on Dick's shoulder.
He figured Slade wasn't in a mood to be messed with so he groggily pushed himself to his feet. Slade gestured for Dick to go ahead of him. He complied albeit not without muttering under his breath. He heard a hint of a laugh, indicating the man had heard him.
Damn...he has good hearing...
Slade spun Dick around by the shoulder and crouched down in front of him. His face held a serious expression and Dick was worried that he had irked the man.
"Dick, you are to be on your best behaviour, am I clear? You will be polite at all times, only speaking when spoken to and you will address me as Sir."
Dick's mouth dropped. Call the man Sir? It was one thing when he voluntarily did so. The people they were meeting must have been of a high standard. Dick became almost nervous. He didn't want to look stupid, he was already dishevelled from his earlier encounter.
"You're kidding me, right?" Slade's face remained serious.
"No, I am not. The Al Ghuls and I have worked together in the past and I do not wish to Jepordise any future dealings."
"Alright..." The man was clearly waiting for something, so he quickly added the honourific title. "Sir."
The man nodded, seemingly satisfied with this response and patted him on the shoulder.
"Good boy." He said before walking ahead of his young Apprentice.
A/N Sorry about the long wait and I said The Al Ghuls would be in this chapter, I know. I decided to split the chapter in too so I could update.
