The break up happened so swiftly, Mike wasn't sure what had happened. They were just fine, and in a moment, things changed and they were screaming at each other. He said some things he shouldn't have, yeah, he regretted them. But Eve said some things that were nasty too. That all happened months ago though. He was sure that he didn't even cross her mind.

Ever since then, that's all Mike could thing about. He couldn't help himself. In bed at night, he found his dreams going to her. In the shower when his thoughts drifted, he found himself thinking of her. It was inevitable, Mike knew that he was still in love with her. But he wasn't sure that she still felt the same way.

Eve looked like she was having the time of her life without Mike while he suffered without her. Had he even crossed her mind once since the break up? He really hoped that this happiness was all a façade. Did she forget everything that they had been through? All the hardships they endured? All the good memories they shared? Was she really over him that quickly?

Maybe she didn't love him at all... But Mike didn't dare go there. There was no man's land. He couldn't bear to know that their whole relationship was a waste of time. It couldn't be. It seemed way too real, to the both of them. It had to be real love. It just had to be.

God, how many times did he say sorry to her? Too many to count, that was for sure. As Mike lay in bed, thinking about Eve, he knew what he had to do. And he had to act quick. Although, there was still a part of him that felt like it was too late for he and Eve. Did he blow his chance with her already?

It was late already, so he wasn't even sure that his plan would work. Nonetheless, he still had to try. He grabbed his phone and dialed her number, then prayed that she would answer. Mike held his breath as he waited her to pick up.

"Hello?" Eve answered and Mike's heart was pounding a mile a minute.

"Eve?" He asked, his voice thick with sleep.

"Mikey?" She replied in that nickname given long ago. It made his heart flutter.

"Yeah, it's me." He said.

"What's going on?" She asked, true concern in her voice. Maybe she did still care. Maybe she did still love him after all. Maybe she did want to give them another shot.

"Are you busy?" Mike asked, fear clearly etched in his voice.

"No, why?"

"Do you maybe, want to meet up at the coffee shop here in the hotel? I think we should talk." He simply said hoping and praying that she would say yes.

"Of course." She answered. "I'll meet you down there." She said and hung up. Mike then got out of bed and slipped on his shoes even though he was in his pajamas. He then took the elevator down to the lobby floor and headed to the small coffee shop. All he wanted was a second chance, and he would never screw up again. He had been miserable without Eve. Would she feel the same?

There he saw her. Eve was wearing a loose t-shirt with some shorts, and the t-shirt actually belonged to Mike. It was apparent now, he did still care. She had the cutest bed head, and wore no make up, but her eyes had sleep written in them. She then smiled and waved to Mike as he made his way to her at the table.

"Hey, Eve." Mike greeted as he sat down.

"Hey. So what's up?" She asked with an eyebrow raised. What was so important that he needed to talk this late at night? Mike took a deep breath and looked up at her.

"I still love you." He said simply and watched Eve for her response. It was quiet for a moment.

"You do?" She asked and Mike nodded. "Mikey..."

"I know I messed up Eve, but I'm sorry. I know I've said sorry a million times, but you've got to forgive me. We need to be together, I need you." He begged to her while she watched him. "I can't let you slip away.

"I still love you too." Eve admitted. That was all he wanted to hear from her perfect lips.
