A small groan escapes 2D as he slowly rolls onto his side. He opens his eyes to see small dead leaves and the sky a deep pink color. He blinks a bit to shake his head to look again.
He was laying on the ground, in a bush, and it was sunset. 'Why am I in a bush?' thought 2D. He shifts a bit to rub at his head, which hurt a lot. 'Where's Mudsy, why isn't he with me?' thought 2D.
Then it all hit, the Enclave, the gun fight, Murdoc's words, and being pushed down the hill. "Murdoc!" gasped 2D, sitting right up. He gets out of the bush and quickly runs up the hill.
'Please be okay, please be okay.' thought 2D. He got to the top to stop dead. He saw dead Enclave on the ground and blood, but he didn't see Murdoc.
Shaking a bit, 2D walked around the area, looking for any sign of his Satanic lover. "Murdoc, Murdoc, MURDOC!" screams 2D. He listens to his voice echoing, but there's no reply.
Murdoc was gone.
'No, no, where is he, where could Murdoc have gone, he'd never leave me.' thought 2D.
"We will meet again."
Those words, Murdoc knew he might not be here, but he still made a promise to find the teen. 'Mudsy.' thought 2d.
He sniffled and starts crying to fall on the ground. He was gone, Murdoc, his love and companion was gone. 2D was once again alone in the Wasteland. But worse, he didn't even know if the Satanist was alive or not.
There was no clues for him to follow. 'Murdoc, I'm sorry.' thought 2D. The bluenette sobbed and wiped at his tears to freeze.
He heard a groan.
Standing back up, he looks around to see one of the Enclave soldiers moving, they were still alive! 2D gulped when he saw a laser rifle on the ground. He grabs it and slowly approaches the soldier. The guy groans even more, showing he was in a lot of pain.
2D almost felt bad till he reminded himself this guy had something to do with Murdoc's disappearance. Pulling all his anger together, the teen uses the rifle to whip the soldier in the head, causing the helmet to fly off. The guy cries out in shock and 2D shoves his foot on the guy's chest, pinning him.
"Where's Murdoc!" demanded 2D. "Wha-oh dammit, you're still alive?" asked the soldier. This only pissed the teen off more and he stomped harder on the man, making him cough up blood.
"Where the fuck is Murdoc, tell me now!" yelled 2D. "Ugh shit, okay, okay, if you're talking about the guy who was with you, ya, he's alive." coughed the soldier. This lifted the bluenette's spirit a bit, he was alive, Murdoc was still alive!
"Heh, but you'll never see him again." smirks the soldier.
2D looks at him in confusion. "Why do you say that?" asked 2D. "Because it's the truth, ugh, the remaining soldiers captured him, well, the bastard knocked me out, but I do know that they're taking him to the Pitt." grins the soldier.
"Th-the Pitt?" asked 2D. "Ya, it's a slave compound, if you actually do find it and get in, heh, you'll find nothing more than a broken man who'll do nothing more than serve his masters so he won't be punished." laughed the man. 2D was horrified, they were turning Murdoc into a SLAVE?!
The soldier just laughed more and this made 2D furious. With a pained yell, he raised the rifle, shooting the soldier, decapitating him.
With the soldier dead, 2D slowly moved back a bit to fall back down. He drops the rifle and starts crying again, even harder than last time. Murdoc was trapped in the Pitt, being turned into a slave. He had no idea where the Pitt is, and even if he did, he has no plan or a single idea as to how to get in.
2D continued to cry as the sun sank lower. Soon, it was nightfall and the bluenette still cried. It wasn't long till 2D cried himself to sleep.
*~* GORILLAZ *~*
Panting, something was panting in his face. 'Plus what's that horrible smell.' thought 2D. He keeps his eyes close till he felt something licking his face.
2D gasps in disgust and sits up to wipe his face. "What the hell?" wondered 2D. He turns to come face to face with a dog. 'A dog?' thought 2D.
It barks happily, panting even more, tail wagging hard. 2D studies and sees it's different from the dogs he's already seen. This dog still has it's fur, black and white, and it seemed a lot more friendlier.
Smiling, 2D reaches a hand out to pet the warm, soft fur. "Hey there, where did you come from?" asked 2D. The dog barks and jumps a bit, making a small jingling noise. 2D then sees a collar around the dogs neck and checks the tag.
"Dogmeat...oh, your name is Dogmeat." said 2D. Dogmeat barks happily as 2D pets his head. "Nice to meet you, Dogmeat, I'm 2D." said the teen. The dog pants and holds out a paw to shake with 2D. "You're a clever boy, aren't you?" asked 2D, shaking his paw.
Dogmeat just wags his tail. The bluenette then looks around but sees no one, where was Dogmeat's owner? "Say, where's your owner?" asked 2D. Dogmeat bows his head, whimpering and the teen understands.
"You lost your owner?" asked 2D. The dog barks sadly and 2D nods. "I know how you feel, I lost my lover to these bastards who took his to a place called the Pitt." said 2D. Dogmeat walked closer to 2D, nuzzling his knee, whimpering. "Thanks." said 2D.
The teen stood up and took in his surroundings, what was he to do now? He wanted to find Murdoc, but he also has to complete his destiny. 'If I look for Murdoc, I could doom the Wastes by failing the prophecy, but if I follow it, I might lose Murdoc, and even if he lives till I do find him, he won't be the same.' thought 2D.
It was a lose, lose situation, what was he going to do?
Dogmeat barked and the bluenette looks at him. "I don't know what to do, should I continue on or find Murdoc, what do I chose?" asked 2D. Dogmeat panted and stood up on his hind legs, putting a paw to the teen's chest, over his heart.
2D smiles and pets Dogmeat's head. "You saying I should follow what my heart says?" asked 2D. Dogmeat barks loudly and sits, waiting patiently. The bluenette sits down and put a fist to his chest as he thought.
When he learned he could make a difference that can change the Wastelands for the better, it made him really happy. But, the love he shares with Murdoc, all the adventures they went on, the time spent together, it all makes 2D love him so much.
2D closes his eyes and he smiles. "Dogmeat...my heart is calling for Murdoc so that's where I'm going." said 2D. Dogmeat barks happily at this but 2D frowns.
"But still, I have no idea where the Pitt is or even an idea on how to get in." said 2D. Dogmeat tilts his head as the teen sighs. "Besides, even if I do find it, it's just me." said 2D. Dogmeat growls and puffs out his chest. "Okay, just us." laughed 2D.
Dogmeat then stood up and looked out to the Wastes, walked in a circle, picking up a rock, and turned back to the teen to drop the rock. 2D stared at it to suddenly get it.
"Are you telling me to find people to help?" asked 2D. Dogmeat barks happily, jumping in the air. The bluenette smiles and stands up. "You're right, someone in the Wasteland has to know where the Pitt is." said 2D.
Dogmeat wags his tail as 2D puts on his back pack and grabs his laser rifle. "I better get looking." said 2D. He starts walking but pauses to look at the sitting dog. "Come on, Dogmeat, we're in this together now." said 2D. The dog barks happily and runs up to the teen.
They start to get moving when Dogmeat sniffs at the ground and digs a little. "What's wrong?" asked 2D. A string pokes from the ground and the dog picks it.
Coming out of the dirt, is a golden inverted cross. 2D's eyes teared up, Murdoc's cross. "He must of lost it in the fight." said 2D softly. Dogmeat looks at him and presents the cross.
2D takes it and looks at it. Murdoc had never taken it off, not for all the time he's known him. Smiling, 2D puts the cross on and holds the cool, smooth metal in his hand. 'Murdoc, you're right, we will see each other again, but this time, it's me who'll do the saving.' thought 2D.
Dogmeat puts a paw on 2D's leg, whining a bit. "I'm okay, let's get moving." said 2D. The two got up and started off north. 2D smiled at the cross, holding it tightly.
"Don't worry Murdoc, I will find you." said 2D.
A/N: It's been awhile, but again, live happens so I was away. Anyway, so Murdoc is gone now, but 2D isn't alone for Dogmeat has appeared and offers some of his doggy wisdom to our blue haired hero. What will happen now? Will 2D and Murdoc find each other? Will 2D really find help? Who knows.
