Chapter Six: Don't confuse likeness with love
Aw guys I can't say how much I love your reviews and I love reading every single one of them. There won't be a rescue however with Aidan coming to his half brother's house trying to take Allie away from Damien though since I don't want to rush things in this story. I know the first chapter was rushed but I feel as if I have managed to slow things down a bit with this story which I am happy with. I just feel like if I make Aidan rescue Allie from Damien it would be rushing things in the story and I don't want to do that since I have other plans for this story. I know some of you are still fans of Aidan so don't worry I will whip something up with Allie and Aidan but right now I actually want to give Damien a chance.
Anyway here is Chapter Six I hope you enjoy it and please review I enjoy reading them and they keep me going with this story once again thank you everyone who has reviewed on this story I really do appreciate it.
Allie's POV
I woke up in my bed at 1.00 pm in the afternoon, it was a pleasant afternoon I might say since the sun was shining, I could hear birds singing as they flew by freely passed my bedroom windows which made me happy. I looked around the room only to see that Damien was no longer in the bed beside me. However I could hear the water running from inside of the bathroom so I assumed he was taking a shower in there. I stayed where I had been lying for the past twenty-four hours in my bed thinking back to my dream and to waking up at midnight with Damien looking concerned at me, I even recall him repeating the riddle that I had heard in my dream but then again it could've been my imagination.
There was no way he could've known the riddle in my dream unless he is a mind reader or something. But I still couldn't get that riddle out of my head and the warning behind it. What did it mean? Where was this book in the library that I have to find? And why do I keep having these dreams? They must mean something.
This made me feel so frustrated, I continued to feel like this until I heard the bathroom door open and there right in front of me was Damien, his bare chest was exposed to me since he had nothing to cover him but a towel that had been wrapped around his waist but I have to say it hung quite low on his hips.
I couldn't help but continue to stare at his amazing biceps and body, goodness he was flipping hot.
"I'm not a fashion show darling." He teased me while grinning towards me.
"I never said you were." I tried my best not to blush but failed miserably as he came closer to me, his grin becoming wider as he moved towards me.
"How are you feeling?" He asked softly.
"I'm feeling confused and frustrated." I answered.
"With: what? My: good looks?" He teased me.
"No with the dream I had last night. I still can't figure out what the riddle means." I sighed.
"How long have you been having these dreams? Allie." He asked me.
"I've been having these dreams for a few weeks now why?" I really couldn't figure him out.
"Just, asking." I could tell that wasn't what he actually wanted to say.
"No tell me what you wanted to actually say." I commented.
"That is what I wanted to say and may I remind you again honey that you do not make the rules or give the orders here." He sounded slightly frustrated; drops of water were landing on his hard-toned chest, gosh if only I could rub my hands up and down on his chest wouldn't that be great I shook my head in frustration why am I having these dirty thoughts about him? I shouldn't be even thinking about these things especially with him in them.
"May I please go outside today?" I asked.
"Of course: just stay out of the forest that is another rule of mine that you must obey." He still had authority in his tone but it was somehow soft as well.
"Okay I'll obey the rules just let me go outside I need some fresh air anyway." I exclaimed.
"Very well Berham! Bring me my whip now." I felt my heart race up as he shouts in the bedroom before I hear two knocks on the door.
"Come in!" I hear Damien shout.
At once I see a plumped man enter the room, he was quite pale, and he had lovely dark brown eyes, and he was wearing a lovely black suit, a white shirt, a pair of black trousers and a pair of black shoes. He had red hair that touched his shoulders almost but continued to hold a smile on his luminous red lips.
"Yes master." He said quietly.
"Take Allie outside to the front of the house while I get changed, I want you to bring Midnight and Perry to the front of the house do I make myself clear?" He gave him a stern look.
"Yes sir." The man known as Berham replied taking me out of the bedroom and escorting me downstairs down to the ground floor until we were standing outside at the front of the house.
For a moment or two we stood there on the grey stoned steps until Berham had decided to walk off somewhere probably to get Midnight and Perry I am guessing. Who were they? I wondered as I waited impatiently for Damien to come down. In a few minutes I felt a large warm hand being placed upon one of my shoulders, I turned around only to be met with gorgeous emerald green eyes. Well for a man he is very attractive and very quick at getting showered and changed.
He wore a black hoody, a blue v neck tee shirt, a pair of black trousers and black sketchers with red stripes on them.
"Berham where are you?" He shouted loudly again.
"Here, sir." The man who looked as if he was in his early forty's responded. He was leading two horses to the front of the house. One was a pure black stallion and a pure grey mare, she was not as tall as the male but tall enough for me to get on I guessed however I hadn't been horse riding for a long time.
He stopped in front of us, I watched as Damien took hold of the reins of the black stallion. He stroked the horse's long black mane showing affection towards his stallion before gazing towards me.
"Come on you're riding Perry." He announced.
I gulped how was I supposed to ride that big horse?
"I can't ride that big black horse." I told him.
In response to my statement he roared with laughter, the sound of his laughter was almost as beautiful as his voice, not too deep but deep enough to be as pure as rich velvet.
"No you're not riding this big black horse because this is Midnight my horse. Perry is over there standing beside Midnight, she's a little feisty but she's a loyal companion. Go over there and get on the saddle." He explained.
I walked over towards where Perry the pure grey white horse was standing, at first I felt quite hesitant to whether or not to lift out my hand and stroke her but when she came quite close to me I felt at ease to touch the bridge of her muzzle before pulling myself up on to the horse's back and sitting on the saddle that had already been equipped on her back.
"I hope you know how to ride on Perry." I heard Damien say.
"I haven't ridden in a while." I admitted.
"Hold on to the reins, on to the coloured green part of the reins and hold tightly on to it. It will give you the control you need to lead the horse and stop her when you need her to do so." He explained gently.
I did as I was told and held on to the reins tightly before kicking the sides of the horse gently and immediately it started walking. We rode out of the entrance of the mansion and rode passed some beautiful houses in some of the villages not too far away from Damien's mansion. When we rode into one of the fields we slowed down.
"Sir may I continue to ride for a while on Perry? Just, for a moment longer." I asked.
"Well I see she has grown attached to you already and has already become a loyal servant. Where do you plan on taking her?" He asked pleasantly but I could not help but hear the seriousness in his soft tone.
"Just: around the fields." I lied in truth I wanted to go into the forest because I wanted to know why he forbids me to go there.
"You don't fool me Allie, you're lying where do you actually want to take her? The only place I could imagine that you would want to go to is the forest." Oh my god he's such a psycho.
"Why would I lie to you?" I exclaimed.
"Probably: because you don't want me to know anything." He started to lick his lips as he glared at me before concentrating again on where he was taking his black stallion to. He was right though, I didn't want him to know anything and yet he did. I was hopeless at lying to him. He always knew when I was lying so I decided to change the subject.
"May I ask you a question?" I gazed towards him; he had such a lovely straight back sitting on the massive saddle on the back of his stallion.
"Another question of why I won't allow you to go into the forest?" He teased me once again.
"No I want to know if there is a book in the library about Mother Nature." I stated.
His eyebrows rose immediately once I had finished my sentence.
"Why do you ask me such a question?" He almost barked out.
"I'm curious because of my dream last night." I admitted.
"You are curious because you want to know if the riddle means something." He softened his tone.
"How did you know the riddle? Just, as a matter of interest." I stumbled over the words a few times.
"I guess I am just very good at guessing things." He responded before heaving a sigh. That wasn't the truth I knew he was hiding something.
"Come let's turn back and return home." He suggested, I couldn't help but wonder why he would not tell me the truth but something told me what I had asked him had either frustrated or had depressed him slightly.
Xx
We made our way back towards the mansion, I felt myself drifting off into a daydream almost like an endless daydream as we were riding towards the large black gates I didn't notice that the gates had opened when he had stopped in front of them without even typing in a code or getting someone to open the gate quite creepy I thought as I came out slightly from my daydream.
We continued to ride our horses for a moment I couldn't help but look back only to see that the gates were already closed okay either I am going crazy with my imagination or there are some strange things going around outside this house and possibly inside too. We continued riding our horses until finally we stopped outside in front of the mansion only to be greeted by Berham and another man who looked about my age. He looked quite poor in my opinion, a brown hat, a brown coat, a white tee shirt and a pair of brown dirty trousers and a pair of brown worn out shoes to match the colour of his eyes.
"Ah thank you Berham I see young Joe here has decided to try and help out for once."I heard Damien say the last word as if the boy hadn't been helping out at all and as if he was relieved in a way that the boy had decided to show up.
I was about to get off the horse and let my feet touch the concrete ground until I felt someone's hands being wrapped around my waist and as if my hands had a mind of their own they wrapped themselves around the person's neck for a split second I looked up and noticed that it was Damien who was lifting me ever so gently off my horse. We stared at each other for a few minutes but to me it felt like forever until he brought me back down to the ground and un-wrapped his hands from my waist.
"We should go inside. Berham and Joe will take the horses back to their stables." He announced before removing my hands from his neck and making his way back inside of his mansion. I walked up the grey-stoned steps before making my way into the large hallway only to see that he wasn't there. I felt like a lost puppy trying to find its owner if I am being honest here. I walked up the stairs making my way towards my bedroom and opened the door he wasn't in here. I really wanted to know why he was acting like this towards me now.
I walked towards his bedroom that was next to mine; I knocked on the door a few times only to be greeted with no answer. I opened the door slightly; he was standing next to one of his bedroom windows, his back facing me.
I opened the door more and entered the room before closing the door behind me. The next thing I knew I was being pressed up next to the wall and was face to face with my fiancée.
"What are you doing in here without my permission?" He asked stroking my cheeks lightly.
"I wanted to see if you were okay." I answered truthfully.
"Very thoughtful of you Allie but I would like to be left alone now with some peace and quiet. I do not want you in my presence at this time." He came in closer.
"What is wrong with you? I ask you a question and you give me a false answer, we come back to your mansion from horse riding, you lift me off my horse then act as if there is something that's bothering you so what is wrong?" I complained.
"I do not have to explain myself to you now leave." He growled lowly.
"I will not Damien!" I shouted.
"Did I not specifically tell you not to call me by my actual name unless I gave you permission to do so?" He growled loudly this time.
"Then explain yourself to me!" I shouted back.
Now I regretted saying that because the next thing I knew he had thrown me on to the bed and was now towering over me.
"Now you will be punished for your disobedience." He growled. He started to press up against me gently before removing my blue dress and tossing it down on to the bedroom floor. He grinned at this since I was biting my lips in horror; he started to kiss my neck and nibbling under my earlobe before whispering something into my ear lovingly and dangerously.
"Your heart is as pure as gold. Were you spoilt when you were younger?" He made me shiver in response which gave him the option to give me a warm smile before claiming my lips again before letting me answer him.
"I wouldn't say I was spoilt. I was okay." I answered him before hearing him speak again.
"Hmm I'm not too sure whether or not I believe you but I can safely say you are more of your mother's little girl than your dad's little girl." He mocked me.
"Shut up!" I shouted before my lips were claimed again by his. I didn't understand why he was being so gentle with me and yet so dangerous. I don't know why but for whatever reason I started to kiss back and deepen our kiss only to have my hands wrapping themselves around his neck. For a good long ten minutes we continued our routine until he decided to pull away and break the kiss.
"That was lovely but I am afraid your punishment will be this, you're going to be locked up in your room for a week babe." Damn him he knows that he is sexy and yet he thinks he can punish me by locking me up in my room for a week just because I told him to tell me what was wrong? This is just out of line!
"You can't lock me up in my room for a week I'll be bored to death!" I shout.
"Okay its now two weeks." He smirked obviously amused by something.
"You're such an asshole." I murmur under my breath.
"It's now three weeks if you insult me one more time it will be for eternity." His voice is soft and yet so seductive and ever so dangerously threatening.
I stay quiet while looking up at him and as if my hands have a mind of their own I start to unbutton his shirt stroking his exposed chest but before I can take it off he removes my hands gently from his shirt looking at me with caution.
"This is as far as we are going to go. Now go back to your bedroom Allie I'll see you later on if not tomorrow." He kisses my hands lovingly before hugging me and leaving a small trail of kisses down my neckline.
Once he stops kissing me he straightens up and starts buttoning up his shirt again.
"Now leave my room please." He whispers before motioning me towards the bedroom door. I quickly get off the bed and lift my blue dress off from the floor and place it on me allowing it to cover my pale arms and legs.
I watch him stride over towards the door holding it open for me; I walk over towards the door taking a quick glance at him, he gives me a small smile before I find myself no longer in his room.
Almost immediately I started to feel cold walking in the hallway, I continued to walk towards my room until I had reached it. I know it was next door to Damien's room but it felt like forever until I had actually reached the door. When I entered my room I closed the door behind me thankful that it wasn't locked just closed. I really did miss college to be honest since I felt slightly bored here nothing to do except meet maids, let them do my hair, have dinner, lunch and breakfast with Damien and listen to his statements as well and to follow his rules.
Damien's POV
Goodness she was so tempting, so irritating and yet so beautiful. There were times I wanted to eat her up so badly but then again she was my fiancée and had been since birth. I had yet to mark her and had to mark her soon. Once she would be marked nobody, not a vampire and no wolves would be able to touch her, they would do well to stay away from her because if they dared to touch her I would rip their hearts out. I continued to stare out of the window, I wouldn't really lock her up but I wouldn't want her to leave me ever.
My thoughts drifted back to last night, I remember watching her sleep but as she slept I was able to read her mind, she had been dreaming of a wolf, I was able to hear the wolf's voice echoing through my mind since I had been concentrating very carefully on what the wolf was saying. I wondered who the wolf was, my own wolf continued to growl but I continued to stay focused on what I was hearing. I could sense Allie's uneasiness; I just wish I knew who the wolf was in her dream.
I continued to gaze out of my bedroom window until I heard my door knocking again.
"Come in." I roared.
I heard the door opening and then closing again.
"Sir would you like some supper?" I heard Elle speaking shyly behind me.
"I'm not hungry now Elle, check if Allie wants some." I yawned hoping that nobody would bother me
"Okay sir." I heard her mutter. Quickly I gave her a dismissive wave of my hand giving her the signal to leave my room. She left my room closing the door behind her quietly making her way to Allie's room next I thought.
Xx
"Miss Allie may I come in?" I heard one of the maids calling my name as I sat upon my bed.
"Yes you may." I answered. I felt so tired; I just wanted to fall asleep in my bed never mind listening to someone coming into my room to speak to me. I know it may sound harsh but I just wanted to close my eyes and sleep peacefully.
"Would you like some supper?" I looked up only to see that it was Elle in my room.
"I don't feel hungry." I stated hoping I hadn't offended her by saying that.
"You haven't had anything all day." She exclaimed.
"I'm not hungry." I repeated.
"I don't want you to starve." She started again.
"I said I'm not hungry how many times do I have to say it in order to get you to understand that?" I barked out.
"Okay madam." She curtseyed before departing from my bedroom, closing the door behind her.
Elle's POV
Oh my god how can Damien even love someone like her? She's so rude! Yes I understand maybe I did annoy her but I didn't want her to starve to death but that's not a reason for her to be so impudent towards me. I continued to make my way back down stairs until I had reached the ground floor and barged into the kitchen trying to stay calm.
"Hey Elle are you okay?" I looked up as I was walking towards the sink in the kitchen turning the hot tap on and rubbing my fingers in some soap before washing it off carefully with the hot water. I turned the hot tap off a few minutes afterwards and grabbed the dry towel that we used for drying our hands off. I looked up once again only to make eye contact with Abbey my best friend in the whole house. She was prettier than me in my opinion; she had long ash blonde hair that had been tied back into a bun, hazel brown eyes, and a beautiful thin angular face. She wore a plain black top with long sleeves to cover her arms, a black skirt that stopped mid thigh, a pair of black tights and red pumps on her feet. Abbey was twenty years of age; she also had been heartbroken many times before by guys and yes people treated her like shit because the same thing had happened to both of us.
"Yes Abbey I'm okay thanks." I lied.
"No you're not Elle, what has happened?" She asked as she continued to walk over towards me and give me a hug.
"Its Allie, I offered her some supper and well maybe I did annoy her but I didn't want her to starve because she hasn't had anything all day and she was just rude to me." I explained.
"Aw Elle, just ignore her, if she's going to be like that then let her be like that. You deserve better hun." She gave me another hug squeezing me ever so slightly; I loved Abbey so much I didn't know what I would do without her.
"Thanks Abbey, I just wish people didn't treat me like that as if I'm someone or something disgusting." I sighed.
"Honey some people are just cows, let them act and think as they please. At the end of the day they don't really know you and you know where you stand so don't let others get you down." She hugged me she was like a big sister to me. I heard the front door ringing.
"I'll catch you later hun." I said quickly taking my leave from the kitchen and walked towards the front door only to see Drake in the doorway.
"Hello Drake." I greeted him hugging him tightly but he pushed me away gently reminding me of my place.
"Hello Elle, tell me is the master here?" He questioned me.
"Yes of course he is. Please come in." I stepped aside letting him walk through the hallway letting me close the door after him so a draft wouldn't come in.
"Would you mind telling me where Damien is?" He asked me in that sexy tone, goodness he was hot as anything, muscular, broad shoulders, and such a gorgeous figure. But I knew where I stood.
"I think he's in the library." I smiled pleasantly towards him.
"You're still as flirty as ever aren't you?" He stroked my cheeks for a minute or two before giving me a small smile.
I was about to answer when one of doors to one of the rooms in the corridor closed loudly, almost as if someone had slammed a door. Walking in the hallway passed the staircase was the master. It was hard to tell if he was pleased or not since his face held no emotion whatsoever. So my guess is he is either tired with frustration or something like that.
"Elle get back to work." He barked at me lifting his gaze to Drake.
"Drake you're late!" He shouted until Drake walked over towards him giving me a wee wink before he walked off into the library with the master.
Drake's POV
I have to say it's been ages since I've been to Damien's house, I've been really busy with working at the college I just haven't had time to meet up with any of my friends. But earlier on today when I had been minding my own business walking in the forest I heard my phone vibrate in one of my trouser pocket's I answered.
"Hey Damien what's up?" I asked.
"Hey would you mind coming over to my house? I need to talk to you about something, it's very important that I do." He sounded serious.
"Am sure but it will take me a while to get to your house since I'm in the forest at the minute." I responded.
"Listen you get your ass down at my house now and if you're not here within five minutes your ass will be mine." He sounded serious even though that was a joke.
"Okay buddy see you soon." I was about to end the call but he beat me to it hanging up on me.
I quickly placed the phone back into my trouser pocket and looked around me making sure of my surroundings before I transformed from a human into my wolf form.
I was a black and white wolf but I had some shades of golden brown around my neck. I growled quietly before taking off into a sprint running as fast as I could until after a few minutes due to my amazing speed I should say I reached the large black gates in the distance which led to the huge mansion that Damien my best friend owned. We have known each other ever since we were six years of age.
I transformed back into my human form since I didn't really want to scare anybody here. The gates opened immediately, I ran again until I had reached the grey stone steps at the front of the house. I must've looked a mess by now since I was wearing a red hoody, a white vest underneath it a pair of brown trousers and white sketchers. I pressed the small bell on the right hand side of the wall.
After a few seconds of waiting one of the maids opened the door, it was Elle I had met her a few years back when Damien had took her in and made her one of his maids. Yeah: long story. I was expecting her to just say hello and come on in but instead she draped her arms around me and hugged me tightly. As much as I wanted to hug her back and enjoy the hug I had to remind her of her place. I did exactly that I pushed her back gently and immediately she knew her place.
She was beautiful, she always had been beautiful and even though I wouldn't admit this directly to her but I actually felt sorry for her. She had been taken advantage of at such a young age and yet some people just backstabbed her and treated her like pure shit but she always did her best to not say anything to them when she wanted to say something to them so badly.
I walked into the house and asked her where the master was, and had told her that she was as flirty as ever. She was such a cute and lovely girl, she was still as innocent as ever she'll always be innocent to me even if she doesn't have her virginity anymore she is still pure and as innocent as ever to me.
We were interrupted when Damien showed up in the corridor and had told Elle to get back to work. I walked towards Damien when he had told me that I was late obviously he had been pissed off by someone or something.
I looked back for a minute or two just to give Elle a wee wink, she meant a lot to me. I followed Damien into the library, closing the door behind me. He sat down on one of the chairs next to the large fireplace. There were shelves of books everywhere basically, very grand but not too grand.
I sat down on one of the sofas that were across from one of the chairs next to the fireplace wondering what had been troubling him.
"What's troubling you?" I broke the silence.
"I overheard a conversation between Abbey and Elle; I also overheard another conversation earlier on between Allie and Elle. I want you to take Elle away from the house for a while." I couldn't believe what I had just heard; he wanted me to take Elle away for a while just because he had overheard two conversations seriously? I shook my head trying to stay calm.
"You can't be serious why would you even want me to take her away from her job? She not only has a job here, she has a home here and she has friends here that care about her. Just because you overheard two conversations between people doesn't mean you have to kick the poor girl out of her home." I really wasn't happy about this.
"I'm not kicking her out Drake I'm doing her a favour my maids know what happens when they annoy guests in the house way too much. Plus I know she's been unhappy for months now so why should she receive more unhappiness here? I want her to be happy." He explained.
"No you want Allie to be happy, you want to please her and make her see that you're not a cold-hearted man you are actually warm-hearted. If you want her to accept you for who you are then don't do this to Elle. Elle doesn't deserve this one bit and you know fine rightly she doesn't." I exclaimed.
"I do not wish to kick her out; I want you to take her in with you so she can attend college. The deal is this you take her in for a few weeks so she can attend college and see how she does on a free literacy or numeracy course, I will pick her up after two weeks and bring her back here and if she wants to go back to college then she can go back and she'll have earned her freedom. "He corrected me.
"But what's stopping her from staying here and attending college?" I inquired.
"The college that you work at is too far away from here where I live and it would be a great opportunity for Elle to be able to learn new things in college. If she stays with you for a few weeks you could help her with literacy, numeracy or maybe even history. I'm sure Elle would love to get the chance to meet new people and learn new things." He smiled towards me.
"What about Allie? When can she come back to college?" I wanted to know since she hadn't been in for a few weeks now and nobody knew why she hadn't been in.
"I am thinking about getting a private tutor for her here." He exclaimed.
"I don't think she would want that Damien. I think Allie should be allowed to come back to college, people miss her, and the teachers are starting to wonder whether or not she is even coming back to college. They have tried contacting her parents but her parents haven't been returning the school's calls. Plus nobody knows where she is. I didn't know where she had gone to either until you brought her up." I stated.
"She'll go back to college next week you have my word." He remarked.
"One: last question." I watched him raise a brow.
"Is there not a special college for girls like Elle? She is a wolf after all. I'm pretty sure there is a school for vampires and wolves. Could she not go to that college instead? It would be a lot safer for her and it's not too far away from here." I sighed.
"Yes there is one but she first has to go to the college that you teach at to get some qualifications and after two or three weeks with you I will consider about taking her to that special college for vampires and wolves but she has to have some qualifications first. Also the college is very hard to get into." He noted.
I agreed eventually that I would take Elle in for a few weeks and let her have the small experience of the college she would be attending for a few weeks while staying with me. But she would also be doing her job as well but Damien noted that she would go back to her job after two weeks were up. Then in a month's time if everything went well she would be taken to the college that would be for her kind and for vampires.
We ended our long conversation with a goodbye and a hug. I walked out of the library only to see Allie coming down the large staircase and Elle standing next to the front door. I smiled towards Elle before walking over to her and whispering something in her ear.
"See you next week angel." I took my leave knowing that Damien would explain everything to her hopefully.
Elle's POV
"See you next week angel." Those words kept on circulating in my mind; I watched him take his leave until I started to get slightly cold and closed the front door only to hear the sound of the master's voice coming from the library asking me to come to him at once.
I did as I was told and scurried over to the library before entering the room and closing the door behind me. He was sitting in one of the chairs next to the fireplace. It was a while before he looked up at me and motioned for me to sit down next to him. I sat down on one of the chairs next to the fireplace.
"Elle the reason I have called you here is because I have something to tell you." He started the conversation.
"Yes master." I murmured.
"I have arranged for you to go to college next week, you'll be staying with Mr Young for two weeks. Now you won't be doing your job until two weeks are up. I hope you get some qualifications while you are there because I will be considering soon about taking you to the special college for vampires and wolves." He explained gently.
I took in every word that had been said; to be honest I hadn't even thought about college, I had learnt most things by working around here.
"Master I do not know what to say." I tried my best to keep eye contact with him.
"Don't say anything then." He replied calmly.
"Will Abbey be going as well?" I asked.
"No just you." He responded tiredly.
"Does Mr Young work in the college? The one I will be going to for two weeks." I questioned.
"Yes he is a teacher there." I heard the master answer.
"Oh I see." I muttered underneath my breath.
"I will pick you up after two weeks okay. I just hope you find it a great experience. That will be all for now you may go back to your duties now." He put it bluntly.
I nodded in respect and left the room, I didn't know what to think or to feel even, I had learned so much here and I had made some awesome friends here so why would I have to go to college that Mr Young worked at? I couldn't put my finger on it. But then again I wondered who Mr Young was.
I continued to walk back up the large staircase passing by some maids, like Abbey and Demy who were busy dusting and polishing the banisters on the top floor. When I walked by them I asked Abbey nicely if I could have a moment with her in private. Of course being my best friend she gladly came with me back downstairs and into the kitchen on the ground floor.
"I'm going to college!" I squealed almost.
"Oh my word chick I'm so happy for you." She hugged me tightly.
"But I will be going there for two weeks." I paused.
"Sure I'll still see you after college." She tried to sound cheery.
"Hun I'll be staying with a man that I don't know called Mr Young I think he's a friend of the master and then after two weeks are up I'll be back here but I don't know what to feel." I admitted.
"Honey you should feel happy I wish I could go to college and before you know it maybe master will send you to the special college." She winked giving me yet another hug.
"Anyways babe I better go here and get back to work maybe I'll catch you later yeah." She said before she left the room. I gave her a weak smile before I started to clean the worktops in the kitchen until I heard the door opening and closing again. I turned around only to see Allie standing in front of me; she looked tired, bored, and hungry and fed up with something.
"Get me some water now!" She barked out. Really I'm fed up with her behaviour how can Damien even love her when she's acting like a total bitch?
"On the way: madam." I said getting out a clean glass from one of the cupboards and held it under the cold tap. I filled it up with the cold water before handing it to her.
"Thanks." She said quickly.
"You're welcome." I said almost as if I was in a rush or something.
She took a sip of the cold water then decided again to be a bitch towards me.
"This water isn't really cold enough. I don't really like water from the tap is there any water in the fridge?" She asked.
"No there isn't." I said.
"You haven't even checked." I heard her say.
"I didn't have to, earlier on this morning when I was on a short break I checked the fridge and there was no water in the fridge." I tried to stay calm.
"Please can you check again?" She softened her tone.
I sighed before going over to the fridge and checked there was only peach water but no still water in the fridge.
"There's only peach water would you take that? There isn't any still water." I looked back at her.
"Yeah I like peach water." She responded almost in a whisper.
I lifted out the peach water from the fridge before closing the fridge door and making my way towards the sink; I poured out the cold tap water from the glass, and started to open the bottle of peach water pouring it into the glass.
"Thank you Elle the peach water is lovely." She thanked me pleasantly.
"You're welcome madam." I kept eye contact with her as she was drinking the peach water.
I watched her finish her drink, she sat the glass down on one of the worktops walking out of the kitchen afterwards. I walked out of the kitchen a few minutes afterwards and noticed that the master had departed from the library and was probably making his way back to his bedroom upstairs.
Allie's POV
I had noticed that Damien had gone back upstairs; I don't know how long he had been in the library for. I was relieved now that he had left the library and had disappeared upstairs because it meant that I would have the chance to find the book. Yes I was still bothered by the dream last night.
I rambled over towards the library closing the door behind me quietly, I couldn't believe how grand and big it was, there were so many shelves filled with books I thought it almost impossible for me to find a book of Mother Nature. I ambled over towards one of the shelves that had the category horror above it and looked through there no book called 'Mother Nature.' I looked at another shelf that said the word romance but nothing there and just when I was about to give up I came across an old book shelf that had the category of legends on it strange name for a category I must say. I looked along the books until I found a book called the ancient chronicles of Elerath Forest. I sighed taking out the large book and sitting myself down on the clean marble floor beside the large book shelf and opened the book. But before I had done that I made sure to blow on the book and wipe some of the dust off it because it was quite dusty and it seemed like an old book.
I looked around for a moment or two hoping that nobody would be watching me; I opened the book slowly and started to read the first page.
Once upon a midnight blue sky a woman walked across the ocean blue sea, her heart was a pure as the radiant golden sunshine, and her skin was as white as the crystal moonlight. She was loved by all nature, animals loved her. She was known as Queen Celina of Elerath, she had a happy life with her husband King Thornton of Elerath their kingdom was peaceful and had been peaceful for many years until one night she had found out that she was pregnant with yet another child, and as she stood by her bedroom window a voice in the wind told her that she would have a baby Princess. Shocked by the maiden's words she knew that if she was to have another child the King would not be happy for he yearned for another son. The Queen had already two girls and one boy, the first was Princess Vera, Princess Freya and the youngest was Prince Lorenth. She knew the King would not be pleased if she gave birth to another girl. As she continued to gaze out of her bedroom window looking down at the snow she remembered the maiden that loved all of nature telling her that the youngest Princess would be the heir to the throne. How would she be able to tell her husband this? She wondered since he would be outraged with this. After a while of gazing out of her bedroom window she joined her husband outside in the garden, he was standing near one of the balconies gazing at his kingdom. She slowly told him the news. He sighed and for a while the King stood silent before telling his wife that if this was true they would have to bring word to their people.
I quickly closed the book thinking that I had read enough for one day, of course I had found no clues yet to the riddle but at least I had started to read the book, I sighed perhaps I would read more of the book another time. I carried the large book in my hands and made my way out of the library and into my room hiding it underneath the bed hoping nobody would find it.
Xx
Half an hour later: I woke up with a painful headache until I heard my bedroom door knocking.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Abbey: madam." I heard the girl reply outside in the doorway.
I walked over towards my bedroom door and opened the door for her. She seemed pretty enough, I watched her as she came into my room.
"Madam I have been sent here by the master to help you get prepared for dinner." She claimed.
"I'm not hungry." I told her.
"Madam please it is important that you have something to eat." She started to annoy me.
"Since when did people like you start to care about me? Since when did it become important for someone to tell me that it is important that I eat? I would rather be with my parents instead of this place." I nearly raised my voice at her.
"I could slap you for saying that, but since I am not allowed and do not wish to displease the master than I will do the one thing any decent person would do. I'll tell you why it is important to eat. It's important to eat because unless you want to die of starvation I would eat to stay healthy loads of people all over the word die of starvation you know especially in Africa, you should be grateful that the master has taken you in. What do you think would happen if he didn't?" She really had pissed me off now.
"Of course I know loads of people all over the world die of starvation, and I never asked for your master to take me into his lovely home, and if he didn't I would've gone back to my parents." I snapped at her.
"You should learn to have better manners." She stated before walking over to my wardrobe and getting out a simple light blue long sleeved dress with lovely white pumps to go with the dress.
She placed the dress on the bed and the pumps at the end of the bed. I sighed before taking them into the bathroom and got changed.
Xx
"Master can I talk to you about something?" I heard Elle ask as she stood behind my chair in the dining room.
"Go ahead." I answered staring at the yellow flames that moved rapidly in the fireplace.
"Why have you decided to send me away next week to college?" She asked shyly.
"I have decided to send you to college for two weeks because I thought you would get a nice experience out of it and get yourself some qualifications while attending there." I replied.
"Master this is not a punishment is it?" She asked me once again shyly.
"Why would you think that?" I questioned her.
"I just thought I had done something wrong and you thought this was the best way to punish me." She answered.
"If I was going to punish you I would have already told you so." I told her.
"Do you think Drake loves me?" She caught me off guard when she asked me that. "Could you love me even?" I raised an eyebrow at that second question.
"Elle I think he is fond of you but I am not too sure about if he loves you. As for me I think you are a great maid and I am fond of you also but no I do not love you." I answered her.
She stayed silent after that for a while before I heard the door open to the dining room, Allie and Abbey stepped inside to the room. Allie looked amazing, her hair was resting on her back, her dress suited her, she looked so cute I thought as she continued to walk over towards the table and sat down on the left-hand side.
"Thank you Abbey, you may leave." I told Abbey since she was standing next to the door. I watched her leave but when Elle was about to leave I stopped her.
"Elle are you not going to ask Allie if she would like something to drink." I heard her sigh before turning around and giving me a small smile.
She ambled over towards Allie who was now sitting in her chair looking at the fireplace.
"Madam would you like something to drink?" I heard her asking nicely.
"No I would not." I was quite surprised to hear Allie respond like that to Elle. I watched Elle come back over to me and asked me if I wanted anything to drink and I told her I wanted some more apple juice. She immediately curtseyed and left the room to go and get me a drink.
"Allie there was no need for you to answer Elle like that." I told her.
"She's been pissing me off all day today, oh and above that all of the maids that have come into my room apart from Demy have done nothing but harassed me all day." She said sarcastically.
"They are only trying to help you try to be grateful." I tried to stay calm.
"I want to go and see my parents." Oh please not this subject again.
"I already told you it is too dangerous and far too risky to go back to see your parents do you even know what would happen if you did see your parents again?" I looked at her closely.
"Well then why don't you take me to see them?" I heard her complain.
"Oh and you would want to put me in danger too? How thoughtful of you, where do you suggest we start?" I teased her.
"Please Damien let me see my parents." She called me again by my actual name.
"I'll bring your parents here then it can be easier for you to see them but there will be a price to pay for the debt." I warned her.
"What price?" She asked.
"You will see when the debt has been paid." I told her.
"What price?" She shouted.
"Now now, don't shout, there's no need for shouting." I told her before walking over towards her and kissing her forehead.
"You better eat your food before it gets cold." I exclaimed. Dinner had already been ready before Allie had even come down, there were many trays of fruit, and food like roast beef, chicken, turkey and boiled potatoes and etc. I watched as Allie was trying to reach the roast chicken but being a gentleman, I took her plate and started to put some of the chicken on to her plate as well as some boiled potatoes, some carrots, broccoli, and some parsnips. I decided to put her plate back down in front of her on the table cutting the chicken for her before watching her dig into her food.
I sat back down on my chair at the other end of the table and started to eat some turkey with some vegetables.
I ate my food slowly while watching Allie eat away at her food until I heard the door knocking.
"Come in!" I shouted.
I watched as Elle walked into the room with a glass of apple juice on the tray that she was carrying.
Surprisingly she wasn't shaking at all; she quickly placed the apple juice down on to the table beside my plate. I thanked her before she asked Allie if there was anything she could get for her. Allie just shook her head in response and after that Elle left the room in silence.
Xx
Gee why does she have to treat me like that? Does she not have any manners at all? I thought as I walked out of the dining room and made my way into the kitchen, at least the master was nice enough to me. I started to clean the worktops again while trying to rid myself of those thoughts. In ways I was looking forward to be going to college and in ways I wasn't. I would miss my friends especially Abbey because if it hadn't been for Abbey I wouldn't have been able to ignore people like Allie.
I sighed before walking out of the kitchen and making my way up to the top floor to clean the bedrooms, I started with the master's bedroom and was about to make the bed until the door opened and there stood Abbey in the doorway carrying some clean sheets in her hands.
"Need any help with changing the sheets?" She offered me some help.
"Yes please Abbey." I replied.
She chuckled before rambling over towards me and helping me with changing the sheets; it was easier when it was two people changing the bed sheets.
"What do you think of Allie?" I questioned her.
"She's okay but I think she really does need to grow up a bit." I heard Abbey respond truthfully. After ten to fifteen minutes we had finished changing the bed sheets and moved the dirty ones into the laundry basket that looked like a cart that we would go around with. I was glad that Abbey had brought it with her. We made our way into Allie's room next. I opened the door so Abbey could go in first, I closed the door behind us and we started to take the dirty sheets off the bed and change them.
After we had changed the beds and cleaned all of the rooms, we decided to start a pleasant conversation while dusting and polishing the banisters on the top of the staircase on the top floor.
"Have you heard any stories recently?" Abbey questioned me.
"No not really why? What sort of stories?" I asked.
"I am not one to listen to gossip or anything but there's talk of Drake looking for a mate." She responded.
"A: mate?" I asked.
"Yeah you know when a wolf is trying to find its soul mate?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Oh yeah, really has he found his soul mate yet?" I asked.
"No not yet. I don't know if it's true or not but I think he is looking for a mate to spend the rest of his life with." She assumed.
Gosh I wish I could be his mate, I sighed while continually dusting and polishing around the banisters.
"Abbey do you know Drake's surname?" I questioned her.
"No why?" She answered.
"No particular reason." I replied.
"I think he's funny at times, and you like him." She teased me.
I ended up going deep red as she teased me.
"Abbey don't tease me." We both giggled as we continued to do our duties until Damien came upstairs with Allie.
"May I ask what is so amusing?" He sounded displeased.
"Sorry sir I was just teasing Elle about Drake." Abbey spoke up.
"I will advise you not to do so again Abbey you are here to work not to chit-chat all day long. Get back to your duties both of you and no teasing each other over things or people that do not concern you." He told us off.
As we were walking passed them I couldn't help but notice Allie giving me a dirty look goodness what have I done wrong now? What is her problem? I wouldn't mind slapping her across the face as I continued to walk closely beside Abbey, yes Abbey and I talked about people but we never bitched or said anything nasty about them. That was the difference we weren't backstabbers the ones who did say bad or mean things about people were backstabbers.
My wolf growled, we made our way downstairs and back into the kitchen and got out the mop and the big brush and dustpan I would sweep up in the hallway and Abbey would mop the kitchen. We both worked hard, very hard I should add.
I started to sweep the floor in the hallway on the ground floor carefully making sure I didn't miss any dirt or dust that may have been on the ground while thinking constantly like a lovesick girl of Drake. I had known him for a few years now and yet I didn't know his surname maybe when I would see him next week I would ask him. I still remember meeting him for the first time a few years back. I was ten years old when I had met him and now I was nineteen years old but people told me I looked more like sixteen or fourteen years old.
I sighed while I was constantly sweeping around the hallway until I heard Abbey talking again behind me.
"You'll see him soon don't worry Elle." She said as if she had been reading my mind.
"Abbey stop reading my thoughts you should know better." I told her before giving her a cheeky grin.
Sometimes we didn't have to move our lips to speak we could just speak with our minds like vampires could, as strange as this may sound but it was part of our powers that we had. Also sometimes we could read each other's thoughts. We didn't have to be in the same room to read each other's thoughts so it was kind of cool.
"Elle are you nearly finished with sweeping up the floor?" I heard Abbey ask in my mind.
"Yes why?" I answered back using my powers before sweeping up the last piece of dirt on the floor and brushing it on to the dustpan and carrying it carefully back into the kitchen and putting it into the kitchen bin.
"I was just asking." Abbey admitted.
"Abbey why do you think Allie would give me a dirty look like that? When we were going downstairs again after the master told us off?" I asked in my mind.
"Babe she is probably jealous of you, do not ask me why but that's probably the reason or she dislikes you. Just ignore that sort of behaviour okay there's no need for you to waste your breath on it." She responded truthfully.
After that we both stayed silent, we got on with our work until I decided to go and water some of the flowers in the gardens.
Xx
After Damien had taken me upstairs after dinner I couldn't help but give Elle a dirty look, right now I didn't really like her maybe in time I would but right now I felt as if we were enemies or I myself felt bad for giving her a dirty look. She seemed like a girl that had been hurt a lot recently and I bet Elle found it hard to trust people.
I sat on my bed before lifting out the large book out from underneath the bed and resumed with reading the book. However when I read the next page I found as if the story was going a bit fast but I kept my thoughts to myself. It read this.
Nine months had already passed and the beautiful baby girl had been born, overwhelmed with joy and happiness the King and Queen decided to celebrate the birth of the new baby girl known as Aliena. However when they celebrated the birth of their new baby girl and told their people the news instead of being happy, the people roared with hatred and demanded that the baby girl should die. The full moon was outside of the castle, with all the courage the Queen had in her, she walked outside of the Throne room and walked towards one of the balconies before casting a terrifying curse upon the Kingdom.
"Hear me!" She shouted at the people.
"You have disgraced the mother of all nature, one day a pure Princess shall walk among you and if she has not broken the curse by the time the full moon has risen and has fallen in love with one of the wolves that may have a pure heart this Kingdom shall burn in fire and all of this Kingdom shall be destroyed! This daughter of mine one day will have two sons both of them shall be wolves and if the true Princess from now shall not fall in love with one of the wolves then this Kingdom shall be no more!" Terrified by her words the King tried to reason with his wife but she would hear none of his words.
Looking up at the full moon she walked down towards one of the gardens before closing her eyes and asking the maiden who brought the wolves into this world for something she had never asked before. She asked for her baby daughter to become a wolf, to be protected from all the wickedness in the world.
Her wish had been granted by the maiden but before it had been granted the maiden spoke to Celina and told her that there would be consequence for this wish. It would be a life for a life of half wolf and half human. Celina knew what she had to do and gladly accepted it but of course she knew she would have to leave her baby daughter in this world soon in the care of her brothers, sisters and her father until that faithful day when she would be married and would give birth to two sons and one of them would capture the heart of a true Princess of mother nature.
I closed the book again. Who could be this true Princess of Mother Nature? It couldn't be me could it? I mean I have no royal blood in me nor have I been ever loved by wild animals in the forest and I am sure I have never ventured into the forest alone. I am not sure if I am falling for Damien or not but one thing I am certain about if this story is more than just a story then I must be the one to capture Damien's heart and change him. He is not cold-hearted I know that but he must change, he has to change.
I stayed there in my bedroom until the door knocked a few times.
"Come in." I said.
The door opened and there stood Damien closing the door behind him quietly before walking over towards me until he was towering over me and kissing me passionately.
If there is one thing I am certain of it is I must choose between the two of these men but the question is which one should I choose? They are completely different, Aidan is gentle, annoying and jealous at times. Damien on the other hand, is gentle, caring, dangerous and seductive. He actually makes me feel as if I have nothing to fear or I shouldn't fear anything he makes me feel safe and yet I can't help but feel as if he is starting to care more for me but I must choose not now but when the time is right. I continued to kiss him until I opened my big mouth and spoke out of turn saying something I never expected to say to him.
"I missed you." I muttered.
"I've missed you too." He whispered back.
We resumed what we were doing and stayed like that for the rest of the night until we fell asleep in each other's arms I don't know but I think I'm starting to care for this beautiful man in a friendship way. I don't want to confuse likeness with love but one last question came to my mind before I drifted off into a dream.
Could I really fall for this beautiful man in time? Or would I have to leave him in order to be free of him? I don't know which one to choose but right now my heart was racing like mad for him as I was cuddling into him, he was so warm and so gentle with me. Right now I didn't want to leave him I just wanted to stay beside him with his warm arms wrapped arms around me. I just wanted to be safe with him. Could he love me back in time if I fell for him? Or would I be just another tool? That was the last question that circulated in my mind before I drifted off into a pleasant dream about him with me.
