A/N: Happy Valentine's Day guys, and to my fellow single people, Happy Friday :3 Naturally, this story must be one of love. This if for Denton1122 who suggested I write a story about Greg and Morgan on a date, and a Guest suggested I do a story for Valentine's Day, so here we are! I hope you enjoy :)

Summary – It's Valentine's Day, so Greg and Morgan go out on a date, but it's not the conventional Valentine's ploy. Morganders, of course!

Valentine's Date

"So, what are you and Greg doing for Valentine's Day?" Finn asked Morgan as they walked to the locker room to gather their things before heading home for the night.

"Oh, we're going to the movies" Morgan said chirpily.

Finn laughed "No kidding, you actually convinced Greg to go and see one of those goofy chick flicks they normally show on Valentine's Day?"

Morgan scoffed "God no, that would be so boring. We're going to see this new psychological horror film" she said with a smile.

"That sounds, erm…romantic" Finn said uncertainly, and Morgan just laughed.

"Well, it's what we like. We both agreed that Valentine's Day was just some big consumerist crap so that businesses can make money. You should be able to show the person you love that you love them every day" Morgan explained. "So we will not be having the conventional Valentine's night"

Finn nodded. "An interesting perspective, but still, doesn't make us singletons feel much better" she said with a smirk.

"Maybe you should go out tonight and meet someone?" Morgan suggested.

Finn laughed lightly "No, it's alright, I have a lot of sleep and Pizza eating to catch up on anyways, as depressing at that sounds."

Greg entered the room as this point with a broad smile on his face "Hey baby, you ready to go?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'll just be a sec" Finn replied teasingly and Morgan rolled her eyes but smiled at the older woman.

"Yeah, I'm ready" Morgan said, putting her bag over her shoulder and going to take Greg's hand. "See you Finn, don't give up, okay?" she said with a wink.

"Yeah, yeah, get out of here you crazy kids" Finn said with a smile and shook her head.

"Bye Finn" Greg said and Morgan waved before the couple left the room together. "So, are you excited about tomorrow?" Greg asked his smiling girlfriend.

"Sure am" Morgan replied squeezing his hand happily "We've been so busy on different cases recently I feel like I haven't seen you in ages" she pouted.

"I know, and it's been hard" Greg said honestly; Morgan meant the world to him and he needed her smile every day to keep him going. "But this is our first Valentine's Day together, and we're going to do it our way" he said with a smile.

"It's going to be the best I've ever had" Morgan said with a soft smile as she placed a kiss on Greg's cheek.

The following evening, Greg and Morgan headed to the movies arm in arm, Greg keeping Morgan close to try and protect her from the frosty night air – Morgan had never felt safer in anyone's arms than she did in Greg's. A lot of the couples in front of them asked for tickets to various romantic films, but Greg and Morgan had no interest in such things, and so got tickets for their horror film as planned.

As the movie started, Morgan nestled herself close into Greg's side, and Greg smiled as he placed his arm around Morgan's shoulder and rested a cheek on top of her head. The film was pretty good, but that wasn't the important thing for Greg and Morgan – the main thing was that they got to spend time outside of work together, and they could just sit and relax.

There were a few moments in the film were Morgan couldn't look, so she would bury her face in Greg's shoulder and he would chuckle to himself as he rubbed her back soothingly and told her when it was over – Morgan was adorable to Greg, and he loved being able to take care of her.

However, when it was Greg's turn to jump at a rather sudden scene, Morgan couldn't help but laugh at the look of shock on his face, and Greg looked highly embarrassed at the loss of his brave composure.

"Don't worry; you'll always be my fearless man" Morgan had whispered to him seductively, and then the couple had shared a passionate kiss at the back of the theatre like two love struck teenagers.

After the movie was over, Greg and Morgan wondered out into the cold night once more, laughing about the movie.

"I mean the way they tested the blood from that body was so illogical" Greg said "that is not how I would have done it; Finn would have had a fit!"

Morgan laughed. "Yeah, and it was so obvious who the killer was, all they had to do was test that dirt sample and it would have been a much shorter movie!"

Greg smiled at his girlfriend "Ah, the downfalls of being a CSI, but then I suppose if I wasn't one, I wouldn't have met you"

"Yes, and what a shame that would have been" Morgan said with a smile. "So, what shall we be cynical about next?" she asked.

"How about that?" Greg said as he pointed to a restaurant window as they walked by.

"Ah, yes" Morgan pondered. "Look how they sit opposite each other, gazing into their eyes like it's the first time they've noticed they even have them. Holding hands like they know it's the last time, tricked into thinking the food is posh just because it comes in small portions and is so overpriced."

"Mm, how very poetic" Greg mused. "But so long as I tell you I love you every day, and show you that I mean it all the time, special things like that don't have to be reserved for one day, we can do them whenever" he said with a smile.

"Exactly" Morgan smiled back. "I know you love me, and I love you, just like every other day and night"

"So, how about we skip the fancy meal and go find a greasy burger and fries somewhere and share a milkshake, just as a little romantic gesture?" Greg suggested.

"I knew we were together for all the right reasons" Morgan teased. "Sounds like a plan to me" she smiled.

The couple walked for a further ten minutes before stumbling across a quiet little burger joint neither of them knew had existed. It was practically empty inside, but there was a welcoming atmosphere and the food did look pretty good. Morgan and Greg took a booth to themselves in the far corner and simply ordered a burger and fries each, and a strawberry milkshake – two straws.

Greg and Morgan chatted away about nothing in particular. Nothing very important needed to be said for them to start conversation, and no silence between them was awkward; they were just comfortable in each other's presence.

Greg used to think he talked way too much before he met Morgan, just spilling out any random thought that came into his head, but Morgan had assured him she liked to listen to him speak, and she always hung on his every word. In turn, Greg always liked to learn more about Morgan, her likes and dislikes, hobbies, and her past, so he would always ask questions and Morgan was always more than willing to answer. If Greg and Morgan were ever to get married one day, he wanted to know as much about Morgan as possible.

The food was brought, and Morgan and Greg indulged themselves in the thick, flavoursome burger and the perfectly greasy fries.

"I much prefer this to some snooty restaurant" Morgan said with a bite of burger still in her mouth.

Greg nodded in agreement "This is what I call real food. Who goes out just to order a salad!?" he said as if the idea was ridiculous.

Morgan laughed "I could not live without fries" she proclaimed.

Soon Greg was full, but Morgan was still going strong; he was very impressed. "Where do you put it all?" he asked with a laugh "You're skinny as a twig, and I've never been out with a girl who can eat more than me"

Morgan shrugged "It's a gift" she said with a smug smile "And that's because I'm one of a kind, baby" she added with a seductive pout.

"Yeah, and I found you, and I'm so glad I did" Greg said with a smile, and Morgan smiled back at him.

After they'd finished the meal and paid, it was late, and as the couple stepped onto the streets once more they found the sky illuminated with stars and a shining moon – it was such a nice ambiance that Greg and Morgan didn't want to waste it, so they decided to take the longer way home and walk through the park.

"I've had a really awesome night" Morgan said as she linked arms with Greg and rested her head on his shoulder as they walked.

"Yeah me too" Greg replied "but I enjoy every day I spend with you" he said with a smile.

"Well there will be many more" Morgan promised "And I love being with you too."

They walked in silence for a little while, before Greg reached into the inside pocket of his jacket. He pulled out a small rectangular package.

"I know we said we weren't going to get gifts" he said sheepishly "but I just wanted to give you a little something, nothing tacky like chocolate or a rose though" he promised.

"Okay, thank you" Morgan said with a smile as she took the package and opened it excitedly.

Morgan's heart soared when inside she found a small framed picture of her and Greg when they went down to Lake Mead for the day. Morgan was sat in-between Greg's legs and leaning back on his chest, and Greg had his chin rested on Morgan's shoulder and arms firmly wrapped around her waist. The sun was shining down on them and they looked like the happiest couple alive.

Morgan looked up at her boyfriend with a happy tear in her eye, and Greg had the same charming smile on which he did in the photo.

"That was the first time we kissed" Greg reminded her. "That was the day I realised that my life was going to change forever, and I couldn't be more excited about it."

Morgan smiled widely at him "Thank you, this is perfect" she said before placing her arms around Greg's neck and hugging him tight "I'm going to keep it on the table beside my bed, then I can see you every night" she said proudly.

"I'm glad you like it" Greg said and they shared a kiss, before Morgan pulled back and went to dig something out of her purse.

"So, I got you a little something too" she confessed "I thought you'd get me something anyway no matter what we said" she added with a smile. Morgan pulled out a small square box and handed it to Greg.

Greg shook it a little, and it rattled, before he tore off the paper and opened the lid of the square box. His eyes widened.

"I remember when you told me you collected coins with your grandfather, and I remembered you said this one was missing" Morgan explained.

Greg pulled the large silver coin out of the box and looked at it with amazement "How did you find this?" he asked, sounding slightly shocked "They're so rare!"

"My Step-Father is an avid collector too" Morgan said "he knew a guy and I got it for a fair price"

"Thank you, this is amazing" Greg said with a grin, before pulling Morgan into a tender kiss once more. "I love you" he said once they broke apart.

"I love you too" Morgan smiled back and they continued to walk hand in hand.

That Valentine's Day had been the best of their lives, and even though they didn't know it yet, they would have many more 'best days' to come.

Haha so maybe it's just the fact I'm single that has made me cynical, but I wanted to do something a little different ;) Anyway, I hope you guys have had a nice day sharing the love!
