~~Hello readers, welcome to my Pokemon fanfiction.

I don't own anything from Pokemon.

Only my original characters belong to me.~~

~Introduction~

My name is Sioku Marie.

I am a 12-year-old girl with curly brown hair and blue eyes.

I live in an apartment with my mother.

My hobbies include exploring, playing with Pokemon, swimming, and meeting new people.

My dislikes include medical facilities, complete silence, seeing people and Pokemon get hurt, and bullies.

~End Introduction~

This story takes place in the Gallar Region.

My adventure began in a small town called Postwick.

Today was the day when I started my jurney as a Pokemon trainer.

I woke up to the sound of my mom's Umbreon panting and running into my bedroom.

"Hi Umbreon," I greeted happily.

Umbreon hopped onto the bed and licked my face.

I ruffled her long fur in return.

Then I stretched and let out a yawn.

"Thank you for waking me up," I said as I hugged her.

The dark type Pokemon sniffed my neck.

I giggled as I felt her cold wet nose come in contact with my skin.

"Let's go Umbreon," I urged.

Umbreon shook off in response.

I sat up carefully and pushed the covers off of me.

Umbreon hopped down onto the floor.

I swung my legs over the side of my bed and then stepped down onto a rug below.

The sun shined brightly through my window.

Umbreon wagged her tail as she exited my room.

The sound of her tail tapping on the walls made me laugh.

I walked over to my closet and slid one of the glass doors open.

My outfit was neatly laid out on a tall wooden dresser in front of me.

It contained pink sparkly flat shoes, pink dress pants, and a purple dress shirt.

After changing out of my pajamas, I folded and placed them neatly in a drawer.

I closed the closet and then sat down on a stool in front of my vanity.

Then I retrieved a hair brush from a drawer and started brushing the tangles out of my messy hair.

Afterward, I pulled my hair into a high ponytail.

"My hair looks good today," I said as I looked at my reflection in the circular mirror.

I grabbed my bag off the floor before I stood up.

Then I exited my bedroom and hurried down the short hallway.

My mother Kara was sitting on a long couch and watching Tv.

Umbreon lay curled up on the floor beside her.

Kara is a woman in her late thirties with straight red hair and brown eyes.

She wore red tennis shoes, blue jeans, a red long-sleeved shirt, and a red jacket.

"Good morning Mother," I greeted as I plopped down on the opposite couch.

"Same to you Sioku, are you ready to go?" she replied.

"I sure am, I can't wait to start my Pokemon journey. I'm going to choose Sobble as my partner," I answered with glee.

"That's a good choice," she commented.

"You should go in the kitchen and get something to eat," Kara suggested.

I laughed nervously when I heard my stomach growl.

"I planned on doing that anyway," I replied as I stood up.

I happily made my way into the kitchen and then grabbed a few doughnuts from a cardboard box.

Then I filled a glass cup with water before I carried them to my seat at the dining room table.

I watched the Tv as I ate my breakfast.

After breakfast, I cleaned up the area.

Then I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth.

A knock at the door suddenly caught Mom's and my attention.

Umbreon excitedly ran toward the front door.

"Come in," said Kara.

The door opened to reveal a tall man with long purple hair and amber eyes.

He wore a baseball cap tilted to show off the crown design on the rim, a red fur-lined coat that has logos of sponsors on the back, a black striped shirt with a sword and shield on it, and white shorts with white tights with a black and gold diamond pattern down the side.

The man happily entered our house.

"Good morning Leon, welcome to my home. I'm so glad you're here," Kara greeted.

"Same to you ma'am, I'm glad to be here. Welcome to the Gallar Region," Leon responded.

In the midst of their conversation, Umbreon jumped on Leon while wagging her tail wildly.

Leon lost his balance and fell on the floor.

A feeling of embarrassment washed over Kara.

Her face turned bright red.

She looked down at her Pokemon and hollered sternly. "Umbreon, get off of him!"

Umbreon slid off of the man and shook her head.

"Sit down," Kara commanded.

Umbreon sat down by her feet.

Kara then helped Leon stand up.

"I am so sorry," she said remorsefully.

"Don't worry about it," Leon replied.

Kara pointed to her Pokemon and added. "Thank you sir, but this one knows better."

Umbreon put her head down and yawned.

I heard all of the commotion and emerged from the bathroom.

"What's going on in here?" I asked as I walked into the living room.

"Umbreon just jumped on our neighbor," answered Kara.

I looked at the man and said politely. "Hello sir, my name is Sioku. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Hi Sioku, my name is Leon. You must be a new trainer," he replied with enthusiasm.

I smiled and said cheerfully. "Yes, I can't wait to get my starter Pokemon and begin my journey."

Leon laughed and patted my shoulder.

"Wow Sioku, I really admire your spirit. I would like you to meet me in Wedgehurst after you pass through Route One," he said.

"That sounds like a plan," I replied.

Leon smiled as he took his leave.

Mom pulled me into a tight hug and said gently. "Good bye Sioku, I hope you have fun during your travels. Please take care of yourself and your Pokemon."

"Thank you Mother, you know I will. I promise to make you proud," I replied while returning the embrace.

My mom and I released each other after a minute.

Then I turned around and gave Umbreon a hug.

"You be good Umbreon," I said.

Umbreon nuzzled me in return.

After releasing her, I walked out the door.

Then I headed up the path between the two houses.

The weather outside was perfect.

There wasn't a cloud in the sky.

Many Pokemon came into my view as I entered the grassy area of Route One.

"Those Pokemon are all so cute! I can't wait to catch some of them later," I said happily.

My walk was mostly quiet until I heard a rustling sound coming from a nearby bush.

I stopped and stared at the bush to my left.

A fox Pokemon suddenly popped out from underneath the bush and ran toward me.

As cute as the fox was, I couldn't let my guard down.

I bolted nervously across the grass.

The fox Pokemon growled as it followed me.

My heart pounded rapidly in my chest.

Sweat dripped down my face as I panted heavily.

Without warning, the fox jumped into the air and then tackled me to the ground from behind.

I sat up and tried to push it away as gently as I could.

However, that fox was relentless.

Much to my horror, the angered Pokemon stared into my eyes with a piercing glare.

I tried my best to stay calm.

To my surprise, the figure of a larger creature suddenly came into view.

The large creature looked like a cross between a dinosaur and a fish.

I stared at it in awe.

"Wo... that huge Pokemon can't be wild. Where did it come from?" I thought.

The giant Pokemon launched a beam of ice from its mouth that was aimed at the fox.

The fox couldn't dodge it and got covered in ice.

As the giant Pokemon moved closer, the ice covered fox hopped off of me and fled.

A feeling of instant relief washed over me.

I smiled at the hybrid Pokemon and said gratefully. "Thank you for saving me. My name is Sioku."

The Pokemon nuzzled me in return.

"Do you belong to somebody? I asked gently.

The Pokemon nodded and then lowered its head.

"Where is your trainer?" I continued.

At the sound of that word, the Pokemon's eyes widened.

I stared curiously into its round eyes.

There was a look of pain mixed with sadness in them.

"Are you all right?" I asked sympathetically.

The Pokemon only stood still.

"What is this poor Pokemon going through? Why did it rescue me? Does it need my help?" I thought sadly.

My thought process was soon interrupted when I heard an angry female voice enter the space.

"Dracovish! Get over here!" She screamed.

The creature now known as Dracovish let out a nervous yelp.

I jumped in fear and wondered out loud. "This new Pokemon's name is Dracovish? What does that girl want with it?"

Dracovish trembled as it stood frozen in fear.

Without any hesitation, I pulled myself up and wrapped my arms around the frightened Pokemon.

"Calm down Dracovish, I'm right here. What's the matter?" I said soothingly.

Dracovish snuggled against me in response.

I continued to hold the Pokemon in a loving way.

"It's okay Dracovish, nobody will hurt you when I'm around. I promise," I assured softly.

The hybrid Pokemon looked at me as it listened to my voice.

"I won't leave your side," I whispered.

Dracovish and I became startled when we heard the sound of footsteps coming toward us at a fast pace.

"What the heck is going on?" I thought.

Dracovish began to tremble violently as he spotted a furious looking girl who stopped directly in front of us.

"I found you Dracovish," the girl said wickedly.

Dracovish lifted its head in response to her voice.

"Hey, Dracovish, are you okay? Why is that girl after you?" I whispered.

A look of pure terror had instantly replaced the sadness in its expression.

Watching that innocent Pokemon fear for its life tugged very hard at my emotions.

My heart sank to the floor.

The girl crept toward Dracovish until she was standing right behind it.

Her ominous aura sent shivers crawling up my spine.

However, I decided to push those thoughts aside in order to help Dracovish.

Dracovish remained still and closed its eyes tightly.

"I'm still here Dracovish," I reassured.

"Get your hands off of my Pokemon! Who are you?" the girl demanded in my ear.

I faced her and responded as calmly as possible. "Hold on mis, this is your Pokemon? My name is Sioku, who are you?"

The girl glared at me and answered roughly. "If you must know, my name is Kiera. What are you doing with my Pokemon?"

I kept my composure toward Kiera in order to prevent Dracovish from freaking out.

"Please calm down Kiera, I didn't know that this Pokemon was yours. It just came to me out of nowhere," I answered smoothly.

"Let go of my Pokemon this instant," she ordered.

I reluctantly released the terrified Pokemon and stepped back slowly.

Dracovish stared at me with sad eyes.

Even though Dracovish's plea was silent, I could hear it loud and clear in my mind.

Seeing Dracovish like that broke my heart.

"I know Dracovish, but you don't belong to me. I'm so sorry," I said brokenly.

I got a closer look at Kiera after I separated from her Pokemon.

Kiera was tall with blond hair and light blue eyes.

She wore black flat shoes, black leggings, a long white dress, and a thin white cover.

Kiera smirked at me as she asked. "Do you seriously feel sorry for that pathetic creature?"

I glared daggers at her and shot back. "Of course I do, your Pokemon is clearly scared out of its mind! Do you even care?"

Kiera just brushed off my emotions and laughed carelessly.

"Why in the world would I care about a Pokemon's feelings? Those creatures are only mindless pets that we can control," Kiera replied bluntly.

I felt my blood boil inside me like hot water.

My anger toward this ruthless girl radiated off of me like fire.

"Kiera, that is not true! Pokemon deserve to be loved and cared for! They are capable of showing emotions just like you and me!" I hollered in her face.

The girl shook her head in disgust.

"Wow Sioku, you are pathetic. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't make any real friends on your journey," she said with a smirk.

"You don't know anything about me," I argued.

"It's time for me to teach my rebellious Pokemon a lesson. It obviously knows better than to run away," Kiera said with an annoyed sigh.

I immediately had a bad feeling inside.

The girl held up a Pokeball and commanded. "Toxtricity, come on out."

An electric and Poison type fox Pokemon emerged from the Pokeball.

The shaking in Dracovish's body intensified as it looked away.

I stared at Toxtricity's fur with admiration and commented quietly. "That Pokemon is so beautiful. I just wish it didn't belong to a monster like Kiera."

"Use thunderbolt on Dracovish now," Kiera ordered.

As Toxtricity was preparing the blast, I looked at Kiera and shouted. "What are you doing? That poor Dracovish hasn't attacked anyone yet!"

"Shut up and stay out of my business," Kiera snapped back.

Toxtricity unleashed a powerful thunderbolt from the end of her tail.

"Dracovish, look out!" I called desperately.

Unfortunately, Dracovish was too scared to defend itself.

The thunderbolt struck Dracovish directly in its back.

Dracovish cried in pain as it slumped down on the ground.

I watched the scene with a stunned expression.

This Pokemon really needed to be taken away from her as early as possible.

Dracovish pulled itself up and bravely fired an ice beam at Toxtricity.

"Nice work Dracovish," I praised.

Toxtricity waved the ice away with her tail.

Kiera grinned maliciously at me and boasted. "My Dracovish has been a stubborn Pokemon ever since I first captured it. It always finds away to fight against me."

I glared at her and replied. "That's good, I don't blame it. Dracovish deserves a better trainer anyway."

"Only worthless losers like you would say that," Kiera countered.

She then pointed to her other Pokemon and instructed. "Use toxic on Dracovish."

Toxtricity released a toxic fume in Dracovish's direction.

Dracovish breathed it in and laid back down.

Its body was becoming weaker with every second that passed.

"Let's finish this up with thunder fang," Kiera said proudly.

"Dracovish, try to get out of the way!" I hollered fearfully.

Unfortunately, Dracovish was far too weak to move.

Toxtricity charged forward before it sank its electric fangs into Dracovish's neck.

Tears poured from my eyes as I watched.

Dracovish seized as volts of electricity passed through its body.

It soon fell into the dark void of unconsciousness.

I hated seeing Dracovish in that horrible situation.

"Dracovish! No!" I cried.

"There is nothing you can do to save it," Kiera said before she laughed villainously.

I dropped to my knees in utter defeat.

"Toxtricity, return," Kiera ordered while holding up a Pokeball.

Toxtricity obediently let herself get pulled inside the Pokeball.

Kiera then grabbed a long thick rope and wrapped it around Dracovish's injured body.

My eyes widened with horror as I gasped.

The girl held up another Pokeball and called out. "Rapidash, help me drag this Pokemon home!"

The fire type horse Pokemon Rapidash emerged from his Pokeball and grabbed hold of the heavy rope.

I watched sadly as Kiera and her Pokemon mercilessly dragged Dracovish away from me.

I was alone once again after Kiera and her two Pokemon disappeared from my sight.

An image of Dracovish flashed through my mind.

"Oh Dracovish, I won't forget about you. I will save you from your terrible master one day," I said sadly.

I stood up and walked dejectedly across the grass.

Luckily, I didn't get confronted by anymore Pokemon.

I arrived in the next town and started to look for Leon.

The town of Wedgehurst was bigger than Postwick.

The town contained a Pokemon center, research lab, a train station, and a few other buildings.

Fortunately, I spotted Leon standing near the train station.

I smiled and waved at him.

"Hello Sioku, we meet again. I have some friends who want to meet you as well," the man greeted.

"Hi Leon," I responded briefly.

Leon noticed my lack of enthusiasm and asked. "Is something bothering you?"

Tears of sadness welled up in my eyes as I explained. "Yes sir, I just witnessed a Pokemon being abused by its trainer before I came here. The poor thing didn't want to leave my side after it saved me from a wild Pokemon. When the trainer returned, she made one of her other Pokemon attack it as punishment for running away from her. Then she dragged it out of my sight by a thick rope."

"Thank you for telling me Sioku, a Pokemon should never have to go through any of that. Do you know this trainer's name?" Leon continued gently.

I let out a heavy sigh before I answered quietly. "Yes, her name is Kiera."

"Thanks for the information," Leon said gratefully.

I only nodded in return.

Leon retrieved three Pokeballs from his Pocket and said. "I have something that will cheer you up."

He then sent a Pokemon out of each ball.

The three small Pokemon happily ran circles around me.

A small smile formed on my face as I stared at the care free creatures.

"These Pokemon are so adorable," I commented.

"At the start of their journey, trainers are allowed to choose one of these three starter Pokemon to have as their first partner. The grass type Pokemon is called Grookey. The fire type is called Scorbunny. The water Pokemon is called Sobble," Leon explained.

I looked up at Leon and said. "I have already made up my mind a long time ago. I'm going to pick Sobble as my first Pokemon partner."

The water type lizard Pokemon Sobble excitedly jumped into my arms.

"Hello Sobble, my name is Sioku. I'm so glad to meet you," I greeted with a bright smile.

Leon handed Sobble's empty Pokeball to me and said. "Excellent, please take this with you. I'm sure you two will become good friends."

"Thank you very much Leon," I replied.

I held up the Pokeball and commanded. "Okay Sobble, return."

Sobble hopped into the Pokeball and let the object close around it.

Leon then handed me five more empty Pokeballs and said. "You can carry up to six Pokemon with you at a time. Your next destination is the Pokemon Research Lab. Good bye for now Sioku, I wish you the best of luck on your journey."

"Thanks for everything," I replied before I walked away.

I strolled over to the lab and then entered.

A woman looked toward the entrance and saw me standing there

"Good morning new trainer, my name is Sonia. Welcome to my research lab," she said politely.

I walked over to her and responded. "Thank you Sonia, my name is Sioku Marie. Leon sent me here after he gave me my starter Pokemon."

"That's wonderful Sioku," she said with a smile.

Sonia opened a drawer and pulled out a device.

She then placed it on the desk in front of me and explained. "That machine is called a Pokedex. The Pokedex will give you information on any Pokemon that you encounter on your journey.

I picked up the Pokedex and said happily. "Thank you Sonia, this Pokedex will be very helpful to me."

"You're most welcome Sioku, good luck on your Pokemon journey. You should go through Route Two and visit my grandmother's house," Sonia replied.

Before I could exit the building, I saw something crawl out from underneath Sonia's desk.

The Pokemon started to hop around with excitement while wagging its tail.

I pointed my Pokedex at the new Pokemon.

The electric type dog was called Yamper.

I knelt down to Yamper's level and reached my hand out to it.

Yamper sniffed my hand before it rubbed itself against my arm.

I gave the little dog a gentle hug and ruffled its long fur.

Then I looked up at the woman and said. "Pardon me Sonia, Yamper is so adorable. Is this Pokemon yours?"

Sonia grinned at me and answered. "He sure is, Yamper and I are best friends."

"I can't wait to catch a Yamper of my own sometime," I said with glee.

An image of Dracovish flashed through my mind as I played with Yamper.

"I'm one step closer to rescuing you my friend," I thought.

I stood up carefully and added. "I should get going now. Hopefully you and I will meet again."

Yamper barked as it watched me exit the lab.

I walked up a short path and then turned into an area that led out of Wedgehurst.

"Sobble, you and I have a rescue mission. We are going to save a friend of mine during our journey," I said out loud.

Sobble heard me and popped out of its Pokeball.

I grinned as I watched my new Pokemon partner walk beside me.

Our walk through Route Two was mostly silent as we explored the area.

I watched many Pokemon pass by as they went about their business.

Suddenly, a Pokemon spotted Sobble and ran toward us.

It looked exactly like the fox that attacked me earlier on Route One.

I immediately pointed my Pokedex at the Pokemon.

The dark type fox Pokemon was called Nickit.

I didn't have to worry about not being able to defend myself alone anymore since I had a Pokemon with me.

Sobble protectively stood in front of me and faced Nickit.

I smiled down at my partner.

"Go get him Sobble. Use water gun," I commanded.

Sobble aimed a stream of water at Nickit.

Nickit fought back by tackling Sobble.

"You use tackle as well," I instructed.

Sobble rushed toward Nickit and tackled it.

Nickit fell to the ground with a thud.

"Let's wrap this up with water gun," I said.

Sobble hit Nickit with another stream of water.

Nickit didn't move from its spot on the ground.

"Good work Sobble," I praised.

Sobble happily jumped in the air.

I pulled out an empty Pokeball and then threw it toward the defeated Pokemon.

The Pokeball closed around Nickit and wobbled a few times before it clicked shut.

I picked up my Pokeball and held it in the air.

"We did it Sobble, I caught Nickit!" I said proudly.

Sobble nuzzled my leg in response.

"I wish Dracovish was here to see that," I said sadly.

I walked slowly across the bridge with Sobble by my side.

We eventually reached a house near a lake.

I gently knocked on the door.

"Come in," said a voice from inside.

I opened the door and entered the house with Sobble right behind me.

An elderly woman approached me and greeted. "Hello young lady, my name is Professor Magnolia. I am pleased to meet you."

"Good morning Professor Magnolia, my name is Sioku. Your granddaughter Sonia told me to come here to see you after she gave me a Pokedex," I responded.

Professor Magnolia pointed at Sobble and said to me. All right Sioku, I see that you are a Pokemon trainer."

"Yes ma'm, I received my first Pokemon from Leon today. I also caught Nickit on my way here," I replied joyfully.

"That's good news, it sounds like you're getting prepared for your journey. I have a gift for you too," Professor Magnolia as she presented an object to me.

The object looked like a wristband.

"What is that?" I asked curiously.

"This bracelet is called a dino max band. It will allow your Pokemon to dino max and possibly gigantomax in battle sometimes," she explained.

I placed the bracelet on my wrist and said happily. "Wow, that sounds really cool. Thank you very much."

"You're most welcome Sioku, I wish you good luck. You should head back to the train station," Professor Magnolia replied.

I waved at the woman before Sobble and I exited her house.

Then we started to walk back to Wedgehurst.

I stopped abruptly as soon as I heard a second rustling sound coming from another bush.

Sobble stared at the bush with intent while it waited patiently for a Pokemon to come out.

As the rustling sound grew louder, Sobble raced forward and fired a water gun at the bush.

"Sobble, be careful!" I shouted protectively.

The water Pokemon looked at me in response.

A frightened Yamper suddenly popped out and used thunder shock on Sobble.

Sobble stumbled backward in pain.

I opened up Sobble's Pokeball and said gently. "It's time for you to return and take a rest."

Sobble let itself get pulled inside the ball.

I then held up another Pokeball and called out. "Nickit, it's your turn!"

Nickit emerged from the Pokeball and stood in front of me.

Yamper's tail sparked wildly as it stared at Nickit.

I smiled down at the spirited Yamper.

"Nickit, use tackle," I commanded.

My fox Pokemon charged forward and then tackled Yamper to the ground.

Yamper zapped Nickit with thunder shock.

"Use tackle again," I instructed.

Nickit landed a direct attack on Yamper.

Yamper fell to the ground with a thud.

I grinned and threw a Pokeball at the defeated yamper.

Yamper was instantly pulled inside.

The Pokeball wobbled a few times before it clicked shut.

I picked up my Pokeball and held it in the air.

"We did it! I caught Yamper!" I cheered proudly.

Nickit wagged its tail with excitement.

I returned Nickit to its Pokeball and said. "You did a great job. Thanks for helping me catch Yamper."

Just as I was walking back to Wedgehurst, I saw another Pokemon fly above my head.

I pointed my Pokedex upward in its direction.

The bird Pokemon was called Rookidee.

I held up Yamper's Pokeball and called out. "All right Yamper, it's your turn to battle!"

The dog Pokemon emerged from its Pokeball and began running circles around my legs.

I bent down to pet Yamper and said. "You are such a cute Pokemon. I am so glad we're together."

Yamper barked while wagging its tail.

I then stood up and commanded. "Use thunder shock on that Rookidee up there."

Yamper jumped into the air and struck Rookidee with a thunder shock attack.

Rookidee began to descend slowly toward Yamper.

"Now use tackle," I instructed.

Yamper charged forward and landed a direct attack on Rookidee.

Rookidee fell to the ground with a thud.

It then lifted itself into the air and created a gust of wind by flapping its wings.

Yamper stepped back in response.

"Use thunder shock again," I commanded.

Yamper zapped Rookidee a second time.

Rookidee landed in the grass and didn't budge.

I threw an empty Pokeball at the defeated bird Pokemon.

Rookidee was then pulled inside the ball.

The Pokeball wobbled a few times before it clicked shut.

I picked up the Pokeball and held it high in the air.

"I just caught a Rookidee! You did an awesome job Yamper," I said proudly.

Yamper panted happily while jumping on me.

I rubbed behind its ears in return.

A brief period of silence passed by as I stood in the field.

"Dracovish, I miss you so much. I wish you were here with me," I thought.

I let out a heavy sigh as I imagined the huge Pokemon.

"Yamper, let's go back to Wedgehurst now. I need to get you guys healed at the Pokemon center," I added.

Yamper and I then hurried out of Route Two and back into Wedgehurst.
