Gringotts
Harry sat with Hermione, it was the weekend and they had decided to visit Gringotts to see if they could speak to the Director about his scar. The rest of the girls had wanted to come too, but he didn't want to attract too much attention so it was decided only Hermione would go with him. After all she had known him the longest so it was only fair. Harry groaned has they waited to see the Director. What a week it had been.
Flash Back
Great Hall
Harry sat at the Slytherin table along with the rest of his girls. He suddenly looked up to see a swarm of owls heading towards him. Hedwig was leading the rest of them. He could see the paper tied to her leg. The other owls however had red envelopes tied to their legs. Harry knew what they were, ever since Ron Mum had sent one in the second year. They were howlers and no doubt filled with all sorts of complaints about what he had done yesterday at the Ministry. Harry watched as all the owls suddenly landed on the Slytherin table, they then began to push each other around, trying to make sure their letter was removed first. Harry ignored the other owls for now and removed the Daily Prophet from Hedwigs leg. He then gave a streak of bacon and allowed the other girls to fawn all over her. Harry placed the Prophet to one side and carefully removed the various red envelopes from the other owls. Once he had them all, he placed them in a pile and then used his wand to set them on fire. The various screams of people could heard as the pile slowly turned to ash. Harry then used his wand to banish the ash and unrolled the newspaper. He groaned at what was on the front page.
Young Lord Takes Law Into His Own Hands, As Young Heir is Given The Dementors Kiss
Article by Rita Skeeter.
Dear Loyal readers, Yesterday a misguided young boy was executed for his crimes against one Lord Harry James Peverell-Slytherin-Gryffindor-Potter. Marcus Flint was arrested two weeks ago after he had violated rule 667. Which states, Another Lord may not take or use another Lords property, without permission of that said Lord. Marcus Flint took Miss Slytherin (Formerly Miss Parkinson) against her will after Lord Harry James Peverell-Slytherin-Gryffindor-Potter had acquired the girl through a slave bond. As Many readers will remember Miss Slytherin ( formally Miss Parkinson) tried to remove the future Lady Peverell from the equation using a class A potion. As Miss Slytherin (formally Miss Parkinson) was too young to accept the charges brought against her, It would be her father who would have to face the consequences. Lord Parkinson refused to accept the charges and disowned his daughter, handing her over to the Lord who she had offended, which he was well in his right do so. It is reported that after the slave bond was created, young Mr Flint tried to Purchase the slave off Lord Peverell, who refused to sell the goods onto Mr Flint. This lead Mr Flint to take matters into his own hands, and took the goods without Lord Peverell permission, breaking law 667. Yesterday at his trial he was found guilty of all charges and was going to be sent to Azkaban for his crimes, the punishment agreed by the Wizengamot for the crime committed. However Lord Peverell stood up in the gallery, and used his power as Lord Gryffindor and Lord Slytherin to change the Wizengamot verdict. Lord Peverell then went on to sentence Mr Flint to the Dementors Kiss, a Punishment that was only considered for those who had committed murder, or were a serial offender. The Chief Warlock tried to plead with Lord Peverell that the punishment he was wanting to be issued was far to severe for the crime Mr Flint had been found guilty of. However in a show of defiance Lord Peverell brushed the pleas off and Mr Flint was sentenced to the Dementor Kiss. A misguided boy who had his whole world ahead of him. However even though this story seems tragic we must asked the real questions. Why did Lord Peverell see it fit to go against the Wizengamot verdict? and will he do it again in future, if someone else upsets him? These thoughts I leave with you my good readers.
Harry shook his head, Rita was making him out to be the next dark Lord. Couldn't they see that what he had done was the right thing to do. Flint was dangerous, and there was no way he would learn from his mistakes. Harry was certain had Flint been anyone else but a pure-blood, then he wouldn't have even reached the front page. Harry threw the paper down, he noticed while he had been reading, mostly all the Slytherin had now left the table, giving him dirty looks as the left. Harry noticed his girls were looking at him.
"What? Flint deserved everything he got. I was well in my rights to change the Wizengamot ruling."
Harry noticed all the girls paused for a brief moment before all was agreeing with him. One girl in particular was very grateful that Harry had changed Flints punishment, and that was Pansy, at least now she could sleep at night knowing her attacker would never touch her or anyone else again.
End flash back
After that morning Harry had found it difficult being in the snake pit. He spent most his time in Slytherin suite, along with Daphne, Tracey and now little Astoria. All three girls also were getting glares from the whole house, and so to make sure they were safe, Harry had keyed them all into his suite. Harry was so busy remembering the last week that he hadn't noticed one of the goblins were already here, and it was only a tug on his robes from Hermione that alerted him to the Goblins presence.
"My Lord, thank you for waiting. The Director is ready to see you now. Please follow me."
Harry stood with Hermione and then followed the Goblin through to the back of the bank. They quickly navigated the various corridors until the came to a huge set of golden doors. In front of it stood on either side were two Goblin guards who crossed their spears on seeing the party approach the Director office. Harry and Hermione watched as their guide spoke to both guards, causing both their spears to be removed. Harry and Hermione then followed the small Goblin inside.
Ragnok looked at the door and noticed the young Lord being escorted in by one of his clerks. He had been most intrigued about the letter the Young Lord had sent him earlier in the week. One of the main reason for this was the letter didn't go into detail about what the young Lord wanted. Ragnok stood from his desk just as the two teens approached.
"Lord Peverell-Slytherin-Gryffindor-Potter, welcome, please take a seat."
Harry and Hermione took a seat across from the Director. Harry then waited silently while the Director removed the letter he had sent earlier this week.
"My Lord as you know I received your letter, however it didn't say much. So I will need you to explain to me, just what you feel we could do to help you."
Harry took a deep breath and then started with his explanation.
"Director, why I wanted to see you has a lot to do with mt scar. You see last week I made a horrifying discovery. It seems my Scar is a Horcrux and the soul fragment attached to it, is that of the late Dark Lord Voldemort. I heard that your curse breaker deal with them on a daily basis, and thought maybe you could help remove the soul fragment from my scar."
Ragnok eyes widened. "My Lord it is true that we do deal with the foul things on a daily basis, however that has been objects, we have never come across a living thing being a Horcrux. If you could explain to me how that the Dark Lord soul came to being attached to your scar, then maybe it will give a better understanding of what we are actually dealing with here."
Harry nodded in response. "Well I only have a theory, you see I believe that Voldemort created this horcrux by accident. On the way to Hogwarts this year, the train was attacked by a swarm of Dementors who were checking for my godfather, as you know earlier this year he was an escaped convict on the run. For some odd reason the Ministry believed he would use the train to travel to Hogwarts. Anyway once the Dementors had raided the train, I found myself blacking out under their effect. It was then I relived that fateful night my parents died. Before Voldemort could kill my mother she had placed some sort of protection spell over me. I watched as Voldemort killed my mother and then approached my cot. I believe he intended to make a Horcrux however I was not the intended target, as I would have been dead. I believed he was going to use my death to complete the ritual, however he had not counted on the spell my mother had placed on me. When he tried to use the killing curse it rebounded back onto himself. I think a piece of his soul was then torn from his body, and it latched on to the only living thing in the room, me, or more importantly my scar."
Ragnok lounged back in his chair. he then turned to small clerk. "Go fetch Bloodthirsty immediately. If anyone can help the young Lord it is him." The small clerk quickly raced out of the office, intending to carry out the directors orders.
"If what you say is true My Lord then there might be a possibility of removing the soul fragment, seeing how the Dark Lord did not complete the ritual to make one of those things. On brighter note, Miss Bell is now keyed into Gryffindor vault has per your instruction." Ragnok suddenly looked up and noticed the clerk was back, with a very ancient looking goblin.
"My Lord may I introduce Bloodthirsty. He is our shaman and a very wise goblin who is filled with all sorts of knowledge. I believe he would be the best person to deal with our problem. Bloodthirsty the Young Lord has approached me regarding a problem. He believe his scar is an accidental Horcrux, created by the late Dark Lord Voldemort."
Harry nervously stayed seated as the ancient looking goblin extended his staff and used the tip to touch his forehead, right where his scar was. Harry suddenly cried out in pain. He quickly pushed the staff away and then used his hand to hold it against his scar. He noticed the Shaman and the Director was in a discussion. Finally Harry noticed Ragnok look at him.
"My Lord, our shaman has just confirmed that your scar is a horcrux, however it is not a complete horcrux. He says he can remove the soul fragment however the ritual will be very painful and there is a very high chance that you will not survive. Do you still wish to proceed with the ritual?"
Harry lowered his head. He didn't exactly have much choice. It was either have the Goblins removed the soul fragment, or wait till Voldemort rose once more, and then allow him to kill him. Harry did not fancy taking that chance though. If anything he wanted to make sure Voldemort could never return and by destroying the soul fragment in his scar, then that would be one less horcrux to worry about.
"Director I ask that you remove the soul fragment from my scar."
Deep within Gringotts Ritual Chamber
Harry knelt in front of the Shaman and watched as he used blood to trace various runes in a circle around him. He then nervously watched as the Shaman then pasted his forehead in the same blood and then used his fingers to trace a small rune over his scar. Harry could smell the blood and it was making him feel really sick. Several drops ran down the side of his face. Harry then watched as the Shaman moved outside of the circle of runes. He then watched as the ancient Goblin began to chant. Harry noticed the runes around him were beginning to glow. He then watched the Shaman strike his staff into the floor. he noticed the runes suddenly glowed brighter and then a single strand shot out from each runes and attached themselves to his scar. Harry screamed in agony, the strands were actually pulling at his scar and the anchor runes that was now traced over his scar. Harry screamed and thrashed around.
Outside behind a protective barrier Hermione looked on frightened by the screams coming from the boy she loved. She knew Harry had chosen to do this, however the constant screams and watching him trashing about was making her cry. After several minutes she couldn't take it anymore.
"Stop it! Can't you see you're killing him!" Hermione attempted to charge the barrier however she suddenly found herself being restrained by two Goblins. "Let me go! Harry needs me, Please!"
Ragnok looked down, he himself could see just how much pain the young Lord was in. However if he was to interrupt the ritual now then there was now question the boy would die. He watched as the girl wrestled in tears with his guards as she watched horrified as the boy she loved suffered.
Harry was still screaming the pain was too much. However just had he had given up all hope, he screamed out once more, and noticed his scar suddenly heated up. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth. Suddenly the pain was gone and he blacked out.
Blood thirsty watched as the boy fell forward, exhausted from his ordeal. The Shaman could see the soul fragment, it was held in place by the runes. It was a small swirl of black energy. The Shaman then chanted once more. The soul fragment was then sealed into a magical orb, which floated into the Shamans hand. It was over the soul fragment had been removed, however there was still no way of telling if the boy had survived the ordeal.
Cliffy, Will Harry survive? Or will he die.
