I found myself back the day before we filmed the after show with Geoff's surprise party. I'm surprised everyone's kept it a secret, unless someone did spill it and Geoff's just doing a good job at hiding the fact that he knows, but he's not really the type to do that. I was crowded with hugs and, "Thank Goodness you're Okay,"'s when I finally got back. Even Jo offered me a quick, "Sorry," and somewhat of an apologetic smile.
Dawn didn't say much. She acted as though it has just been overnight that we hadn't seen each other, though she did say she was happy to see me again. We hung out in my room while Lindsay was out being stupid.
The both of us settled on my bed, leaning against the wall. We both munched on some chips as we spoke.
"You're wearing your flower again." Dawn pointed out.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah. When I was in the hospital, Cameron brought me one of these. He's really mad at me right, maybe wearing this will show him that I'm still the same Zoey as when we first met." I shrugged.
"But you're not."
I looked up at her. "What?"
"You're not the same Zoey as when we all first met. I've noticed it in your aura. It definitely hasn't changed drastically, but it's enough to notice. It happens to everyone at least once in their life. Something big can happen and it might change right away, or it'll be over time. In fact it happens all the time." She giggled. "I mean, even look at Cameron. When we all first met, do you think he could really be angry at everyone? He was too curious and new to everything. It was a big change that took a little bit to actually change him."
I stared at her, but her small smile did not falter. She grabbed another chip from the bag and munched away happily.
"Are you trying to make this seem like basic psychology?" I frowned, but a smile sneaked past anyway.
"Well, really, it was something kind of made up by the author, but that's breaking the fourth wall. So, yes. It is like basic psychology." Dawn jumped up. "Let's go check with Bridgette to see if we can help with the party."
I nodded and got up too. "Sure, I'll meet you there, I just have to go put the chip bag back into the kitchen."
"Alright." We parted our separate ways.
Moments later, Mal joined me.
"How long have you been waiting outside my door?" I asked him, taking another chip from the bag.
"Those look disgusting." He ignored my question, glancing at the bag.
"Mmm, they are. I don't know why I let Dawn pick the chips. I mean, there are some healthy chips that are good, but these just plain taste bad." I smiled as he rolled his eyes. "Also you ignored my question."
"It's not your business." He told me.
I stopped and put my hands on my hips. "Not my business? This has to do with the fact that you're stalking me Mal!" He stayed silent.
I went into the kitchen alone. When I came back out, Mal was gone.
"Welcome back to Total Drama Take Two's Aftershow! I'm Trent, your host, with Leshawna, your other host."
"Hey!" Leshawna waved at the camera.
Trent started again, "And-"
Leshawna jumped up, "And we have Zoe back. All healthy and happy!"
I nervously waved, with a little smile. I thought in my head, 'Happy? Not really. Healthy? Probably not.'
Trent frowned at Leshawna. "Yeah. Also, we're going to go a little off-schedule here. It's something Geoff will really like."
"WOO! Partaaay!" Geoff leaped up, throwing his hands in the air. (And I might as well add that he just didn't care).
"You know, I probably shouldn't have used such an easy-to-guess sentence." Trent said to himself, earning a chuckle from the audience.
Bridgette jumped up to him and hugged him. "Happy birthday!"
Party balloons fell from the ceiling, music started playing, and someone in a Sasquatchanakwa costume (at least I hope it's a costume), rolled in a big cake. Chris popped out of it.
"Hey! Happy birthday!" He climbed off.
"Chris! You practically ruined the cake!" Bridgette frowned.
"What? Isn't that you people do now at surprise parties?" He asked, brushing cake off his outfit.
Geoff walked over and tasted some of the cake. "This is awesome!" He threw his hands in the air again, (though he probably cared a little this time).
"You really like it?" Bridgette asked hopefully, hands clasped in front of her.
"I love it! Thanks a lot, Bridge!" He picked her up and kissed her... for a while.
The party was fun. It continued well after the show ended. I hung out with Dawn and the occasional passing girlfriend most of the time. Mal was standing somewhere behind me the whole time. Cameron didn't come within a 20 feet range of me. I figured it was best to let him cool down then to pursue him. I had enough problems with Mal.
"You know what they should do?" Katie asked Dawn, Sadie, and me.
"I know what they should do!" Sadie replied, the two of them squealed.
"What should they do?" I asked them, staring at the drink in my hand. It was supposed to be plain tropical fruit punch, but I'm pretty sure at least one of the guys (*Cough* Duncan *Cough*) poured something alcoholic into it.
"They should play a slow song!" Katie and Sadie said at the same time. "Let's go ask B to put one on!" Katie offered, to which Sadie nodded enthusiastically to.
Dawn and I watched as they ran up to B, who was manning the music, and asked him something (Most likely to put on a slow song). B shrugged, but moments later the requested song was put on. A few couples decided to dance, but most stood off to the side.
"Hey, Zoey?" I heard Mike's voice and my heartbeat quickened. But not because it was good, but because I was afraid. I turned around to see his hair spiked up, but the dark circles were still under his eyes, and a smile that could only be Mal's was there.
"Mike?" I asked him, smiling.
He smiled a little more. "Care to dance?" He asked, doing the nervous gesture Mike had, which was rubbing his neck.
I was taken aback. "Oh. Uh, sure."
He grabbed my hands and we proceeded to dance. Mal was silent the whole time, and he looked away, so I couldn't see his face.
"Ma-ike, this is kind of weird of you." I frowned.
"Yeah, just thought I try something." He still didn't turn his head back to me.
"What is with you?" I asked him.
"What do you mean?" He asked back in a bored tone.
I pushed him away. He turned to me finally.
I backed up a few steps. "Stop following me around, Mal. Make up your mind."
"Make up my mind? That's what I'm trying to do. Mike's not doing too good." He grinned.
"Mal!" I yelled, drawing more attention to us. "That's not the point. Why do you act like you care for me one moment, and then ignore me for the rest? It's torture for me."
"Zoey, I-"
"No, leave me alone. I don't need you. I don't." I turned around and ran.
Hope you enjoyed! The story's not over, but I don't really think anyone would think that. However, I do think there will only be one or two more chapters before I start the sequel! I'm so excited for it. Tell me what you think about a sequel. Um, please, review. Point out good and bad things so I can improve the story. Thank you!
