Crane sat in his Arkham cell waiting for Nigma to break him out. He was pissed he was still in here after Batman captured him after his Halloween scheme. Releasing his fear gas into a Wayne Foundation masquerade ball he had fun with the screams filling his ears he robs and snatched jewels off of people before running and then being chased down by Batman.

Hoping that Nigma would get him out soon he looked at the blank post card he received last week. It was the Gotham skyline at night and he knew a baby boy was born. Sid didn't want to know the sex of the baby but she was going to make sure he knew once the child was born. If it was a girl it would have been a post card with a sunrise or sunset with pink in it. The post card confused the guards just like Nigma wanted it to do, but Crane knew what it all meant. The clock tower red 11:30 which meant to him Nigma was going to break him out November 6th and it was 11:59pm on the 5th.

As soon as midnight struck his door slid open and the power went out in the Asylum. Standing he approached the door cautiously, unaware of what Nigma's escape plan was. Once he stepped out into the hall he felt a sack go over his head and his world went blank.

"You sure this plan will work?" the kid asked as he sat on a crate in the abandon factory where they were waiting for a truck to deliver Crane.

"Well he may be a little pissed he had to stay in a laundry bin most of the day, but it was Sid who came up with this plan," Nigma replied as he twirled his cane dressed in his Riddler costume. "Who kidnaps someone from Arkham anyway, it's more exciting to blow the place up and cause mass panic."

"Mob mentality be quick, quiet, and unseen unless you are making a statement," the kid replied as he heard a truck squealing to a stop outside their hide out and heard it pull away just as fast. "I think the package has just been dropped."

"He's going to be in a terrific mood," Nigma sighed as they walked out to find Crane kicking around a laundry cart.

"Whose ludicrous idea was this!?" he fumed, as he pushed the cart over.

"That would be your girlfriend," Nigma replied calmly as Crane tossed a few more things around. "Now can we be on our way before you alert the police to our position?"

"I was shoved in a cart full of dirty laundry!" Crane roared as Nigma and the kid headed towards the black impala they borrowed from Sid. "Do you realize how much inmates smell at the place?!"

"Calm down and get in the car," Nigma ordered as he got in the car behind the wheel and the kid hopped into the backseat.

"Well now I know where the baby gets his whining from," the kid said quietly to Nigma before Crane got into the car.

"Make comments like that when he is not in hearing range," Nigma warned earning a glare from Crane.

"Just get us back to the apartment alive," Crane muttered as he put the seat belt on knowing when it came to driving Nigma could be reckless.

"You told her about my driving didn't you," Nigma said as he started speeding down the back roads. "That's why she wouldn't give me the keys to the Ferrier!"

"No I told her," the kid admitted before Crane could respond. "Plus if you put a scratch on that car you would find yourself missing some parts that identify you as a male."

"Let me guess you told her to save my man hood," Nigma laughed as he took a sharp turn, causing the occupants of the car to be jerked around.

"That and my own skin too of course," he said as he steadied himself and the car slowed down to pull into the hidden garage. "Isn't that what you taught me always protect your own hide first."

"Glad you were paying attention," Nigma said as he parked the car and Crane got out as soon as the vehicle stopped and slammed his door then stormed away. "Someone doesn't like us bonding."

"Or he just hates the idea of someone else like you running around," the kid joked as they watched Crane leave knowing it was better to give him space.

They were both right of course. Crane was still pissed off with what had just happened. In the back of his mind he knew it was a bad idea to go up there and blow up like he wanted to, but his anger was blinding him. As he made his way quickly up the stairs he was still enraged, he almost snapped the key in the lock as he unlocked the stairway door. He threw opened the door to the hallway causing a sword to clatter to the floor as Sid had just closed the door to the nursery.

"What the hell kind of half-baked scheme was that!?" he roared as he came towards her only to be slapped on the chest and yanked into the living room.

"I swear to high hell if you wake up our child I will stab you," she hissed at him poking him in the chest. "And that was the best I could come up with since all of Nigma's plans kept falling apart because half of his crew is still locked up in Blackgate. I could have just left you in there to rot and hell next time I will!"

"Next time just come up with a plan that doesn't end up with me shoved in dirty laundry," he ordered and she started to giggle.

"Oh my god what?" she laughed at him which only pissed him off more. "Sorry, I only paid people to get you out of there I didn't ask what the plan was. I am sorry about the methods but it worked."

"Can I see him?" Crane asked then she led him out of the living room and towards the nursery door.

She put a finger on her lips to motion for him to be quiet as she opened the door. Silently they entered the room that was a pale sky blue. He looked over the dark cherry wood crib and looked at the tiny baby boy sleeping soundly. This was something he never thought he would see since he became Scarecrow. Who knows maybe his son would be the one who finally ended the bat. He was silently pulled back out by Sid and back into the hall. A rouge of Gotham having a little family was unheard of but he would make it work, he swore to himself he would.
