Author's Note
So, as you all know, it's been about two months since I last updated. I've had some time to think about it and I've come to a conclusion. I've decided that I can no longer continue with this story. I thought that my interest for it returned, but it hasn't. I deeply apologize to all of you that liked this story, but I cannot go on. I will hopefully continue writing stories for this site, just not for Twilight since it no longer holds my interest. To be somewhat fair, however, below is what my plan was for how I was going to have this story go. To be honest, part of my problem is that some of my plan doesn't make much sense to me and I'm unsure of how to fix it. The other problem is that the direction and ending I have in mind makes Renesmee's character very cold and selfish, which doesn't sit well with me. The way Stephanie Meyer wrote her, Renesmee does not seem like the type of character to become cold and cruel, so I'm not very comfortable having her become that way. Because of this, the ending would be very sad. I'm not sure, but the problem might be that I'm not very comfortable writing a story that ends in tragedy, which wasn't originally intended but just snuck up on me. Again, I'm very sorry for bailing on this story. My heart just isn't in it anymore. I hope you all aren't too disappointed/angry.
Early the next morning, before he had to leave, Alec brought Renesmee back to the meadow. He gave her a large sum of money, so that, if she ever wanted to, she could buy a plane ticket to go see him in Italy. When they got back to the Cullen house, everyone was waiting for them. Alec and Renesmee had their last goodbyes and Carlisle and Edward had to hold Renesmee back as Alec and Felix left.
Two weeks go by with Renesmee feeling very depressed, not even Jasper can help her. Then Charlie comes to the Cullen's home to confront the family because he overheard some members of the wolf pack talking about how they were happy that the "Italian bloodsuckers" were finally gone. Bella, not wanting to lie to Charlie anymore, caves under pressure and tells him the truth that they are all vampires. However, she refuses to turn him into a vampire or kill him, so she makes sure he stays under their constant surveillance to make sure he stays safe, in case the Volturi find out. The rest of the family reluctantly agrees.
Meanwhile, Renesmee wasn't in the room but hears this conversation and makes a decision: She cannot stay with a family that is (1) breaking the laws and (2) potentially putting her life at risk after she has just been cleared by the Volturi. She gets her passport, the money Alec gave her, and a small bag of her belongings and goes to Italy to turn her family in.
When she arrives, Aro is happy, but surprised to see her. When he asks about the meaning of her presence, she uses her power to show him that her family has broken the law. Aro is outraged when he sees this and orders her family's death. However, he offers Renesmee a pardon because she confessed and she showed him about her second power (that she can "take" and use another vampire's gift). He offers her a place with the Volturi guard, which she immediately accepts, mostly because it's really the only way she and Alec can be together. The two lovers reunite amidst the planning of the Cullen's executions and Renesmee's transformation and training into becoming a proper Volturi guard. Of course, Alice has a vision that the Volturi will be coming, so the family gets all of their friends from the other covens and wolves to help them once more.
When the Volturi arrive in Forks, Aro has Renesmee immediately take Alice, Edward, and Bella's powers (at this point, she has quickly learned how to take and use more than one power at one time). She is able to manipulate Bella's power into locking all of the Cullen's and their friends into a shield so that they are all forced to stay in one place. After Aro gives his speech, Alec uses his gift to numb them all and the other members of the guard, except Renesmee, go through and kill them all one by one.
One hundred years later, Alec and Renesmee are proper mates and living happily together with the Volturi.
