So here it is the first chapter of my short story spin-off from Season 1 of my Power Rangers: Trident Force series, the story follows Kendrick as he teams up with rangers from the past, possible future and other earths who have once been evil but were able to overcome the evil to join the good guys in the end. Those selective rangers are being targeted by a being called The Arbiter who deems them unworthy.
Disclaimer: I don't own anyone owned by Power Rangers/Hasbro. I only own Kendrick Chambers and Edward Barnes while Cassandra "Cassie" St. Claire belongs to ICrzy. I also don't own The Arbiter who is property of Unworthy Studios from Youtube, whose series Power Rangers: Unworthy inspiration for this story.

Kendrick stepped out of the portal and back into the park. He took a deep breath of fresh air then started walking away.
"Chambers wait up."
Kendrick turned around to see Abby stepping out of the portal, he was about to say something only for Abby to grab his wrist and place his morpher back in his hand.
"No one is going to replace you. Go and do what you need to do and when you're ready, you'll come back and help us stop Zeltu once and for all" she said with intense emotion swelling up in her throat. She then leaned over and kissed him on the cheek before going back through the portal.
Kendrick looked down at the morpher in his hand. He knew that he didn't deserve to be a ranger but if he was going to be forced to keep it then he knew there was one thing had had to do before leaving.

"Um excuse me Mister Mercer" Kendrick asked.
"Yes?" Anton said not looking at the man talking to him. When he looked at the man his eyes widened when he saw what was in Kendrick's hands.
"I believe this belongs to you" Kendrick said as he handed over the case to the billionaire who gladly accepted his missing case.
Kendrick didn't wait for a thank you as he turned and started walking away. He stopped when a dark portal opened up in front of him and a dark figure carrying a sword stepped out in front of him.
"Kendrick Chambers of Earth-616" the figure asked.
"Yeah, who the hell are you and what do you want?" Kendrick asked back thrown off a bit but on guard by the figure's sudden appearance.
"My name is The Arbiter and I am here because you have been deemed unworthy."
Now
"I'm sorry but I have…. What are you talking about?" Kendrick asked confused.
"Your actions now and those that have yet to come have deemed you unworthy of the power that comes with being a Power Ranger" The Arbiter replied.
"But that's just it, I'm not a Power Ranger" Kendrick said.
"There is a power morpher in your procession is there not?" The Arbiter asked.
"Yeah but…" Kendrick started, but before he could finish The Arbiter shot forward. He summoned his sword and brought it down aiming for Kendrick who had to quickly roll out of the way at the last second making The Arbiter hit the ground were Kendrick once stood.
"You have to listen to me, I'm not a Ranger and don't want to be" Kendrick said trying to plead his case.
The Arbiter ignored his plea as he stormed towards Kendrick who was lying on the ground. Arbiter leapt towards Kendrick, his blade at the ready but just as Arbiter's blade was coming down a woman appeared and deflected The Arbiter's blade with her own. Then woman then side kicked him backwards. That's when a man with short dark hair came flying out of nowhere kicking the Arbiter back even more. The man and woman were in a fighting stance between The Arbiter and Kendrick. The Arbiter seeing that he was currently outnumbered teleported away. The man and woman turned to face Kendrick. The man walked over and offered his hand out to Kendrick who accepted it allowing the man to help him up to his feet.
"You alright kid?" the man asked.
"Yeah, thanks" Kendrick responded.
"We have to move fast, if we're going to stop him" the woman said.
"Wait…. Who are you guys?" Kendrick asked.
"My name is Tommy" the man said who was quickly replaced with images of Mighty Morphin' Green and White Ranger, Zeo Ranger Five Red, Turbo Red and finally Dino Thunder Black. "And this Karone" Tommy said, the woman whose name was how known as Karone was replaced by an image of Pink Lost Galaxy Ranger.
"What did that Arbiter want with me?" Kendrick asked.
"From what we understand, he believes that any ranger that has been evil is unworthy of being a Power Ranger" Tommy replied.
"I tried telling him that I'm not a ranger, I don't even know if I worthy of being a Power Ranger" Kendrick said. "And wait, he said it's not only because of the things I have done but things I have yet to do, what did he mean by that?" Kendrick asked.
"I think I can answer that" came a girl's voice behind Kendrick making the former evil ranger turn to see a familiar face standing behind him.
"Mikayla? What are you doing here?" he asked.
Mikayla walked over so she was standing next to the three rangers. She took a long deep breath before saying anything.
"The truth is, I'm from the year 2047 and in that future the earth is ruled by an unspeakable evil and he has one disciple known as The Dark Ranger who not only destroyed the Trident Force Rangers making them the last ranger team in existence but he went after former rangers as well" Mikayla said with some sadness having to recall horrific events she had experience.
"And I'm this so-called Dark Ranger?" Kendrick asked.
"Yes, and as long as Zeltu is around, the possibility of you still becoming the Dark Ranger is in the cards" Mikayla answers.
"Do the other Trident Rangers know this?" he asked.
"The only part I've kept from them is your identity as the Dark Ranger but I'm not entirely sure that defeating Zeltu will save my future" Mikayla responded.
"You can't keep something like that from them, promise me that you'll tell them" Kendrick says to her.
Mikayla nods her head.
"You have to promise me something then" she says, he nods head. "I want to you go with them and stop this Arbiter from destroying the other rangers from this Earth and the others" She said then turned and walked away leaving Kendrick alone with Tommy and Karone.
Kendrick placed his hands on the top of his head and let out a growl of annoyance, this is the last thing Kendrick wanted. He just wanted to live his life out of the ranger life but before he could even do that he was pulled back into the life.
"Listen I understand that this is a difficult situation but we're going to need all the help we can get" Tommy says to him.
Kendrick turns and walks away from the two former rangers then turned back around facing the two of them.
"All right I'm in" he says.
Tommy smiles then says,
"Come and meet the others."
Tommy turned and pulled a device out from his jacket pocket. He typed something on the keypad and pushed a button. A portal opened up in front of them. Tommy, Karone and Kendrick stepped through the portal. When they stepped out they found themselves in a large room with computers, but they weren't the only ones in the room. There were three men standing there as well. Kendrick looked around at his surroundings, it looked like a cave of some sort, a dinosaur fossil cave. The pillars in the room had what appeared to be dinosaur footprints on them.
"Where are we?" Kendrick asked.
"This was the headquarters to the Dino Thunder Rangers which also happens to be located under my house" Tommy said.
Kendrick gave Tommy a look telling the former ranger that he was highly impressed. He then turned his attention to the three men standing in the room giving him weird looks.
"Who's the kid?" the man with dirty blonde hair asked.
"Kendrick Chambers, please meet Hunter Bradly, his brother Blake and Ryan Mitchell" Tommy said.
Kendrick walked over and shook hands with all three men. As he shook their hands, an image of Crimson Thunder Ranger, Navy Thunder Ranger and Titanium Ranger flashed over them respectively as he looked at each one of them. Kendrick turned to face Tommy.
"So, the six of us are going to try and stop Arbiter?" Kendrick asked.
"No, there are three more that will be joining us" Tommy replied.
"We know that this Arbiter is attacking rangers who were once evil, so the question now is who is his next target?" Blake asked.
"I think I have an idea" Tommy walked over to the computer at the other end of the room and took a seat while he typed away on the keyboard. A few a moments later, the computer dinged. "I think I found his next target" Tommy said turning to face them.
"Okay, where to then?" Hunter asked.
"Not where…. But when" Tommy responded.

New York, New York- Year 2031
A portal opens up and Kendrick along with Tommy, Hunter and Blake step out. The four rangers watched as the portal closed before turning to the device in Tommy's hand.
"All right if my calculations are correct then The Arbiter's next target should be in this vicinity" Tommy said pointing to a place on a map then pocketed the device.
"So, this is the year 2031, huh, not what I was expecting" Blake said sarcastically.
Kendrick looked around then back to Tommy.
"I'm confused, I thought the future would be all apocalyptic? I mean Mikayla said I destroyed the Trident Rangers so shouldn't this be? I don't know not like this?" Kendrick asked confused about his current surroundings.
"Maybe it's a possible future? I mean we know about the multiverse due to Lord Draven's attempt to destroy them so maybe just maybe there are different timelines" Tommy said.
"Well if this is a possible timeline and Zeltu is to be destroyed, then it's one I look forward to living in" Kendrick replied.
Then he realized something, he was in the future, despite a possible future, it was still a future and maybe he could use this to his advantage about finding out who his real parents were. He waited until Tommy and the others had their back to him before slipping away.
"So, what's the plan?" Blake asked Tommy.
"You two check the left side of the university while Kendrick and I will…." Tommy started to say only to stop when he realized that Kendrick was missing.
The three former rangers looked around, but they soon realized that he was nowhere to be seen. "This is not good" Tommy said.
"Great, just what we need a runaway grunt" Hunter said annoyed by Kendrick's actions.
Tommy took a long deep breath then turned to the Bradley brothers.
"Change of plans the two of you go and search for whoever The Arbiter is targeting" He said then pulled out the device and handed it to Blake who took it. "I'll try and find Kendrick before he does something that he regrets" Tommy said then took off looking for Kendrick while Blake and Hunter made their way onto the grounds of the college.

Cassandra St. Clare, or simply Cassie to her friends walked out of her music business class with a spring in her step. Today was the last day of the semester before spring break and she would be making her way back home to Legacy Hills. She was also excited because she would be seeing her girlfriend Sora for the first time since Christmas. She was placing her book into her bag when someone bumped into her making her drop not only her bag, but all of its contents out onto the ground.
"Seriously, watch where you're going people" she muttered under her breath as she crouched down and started picking up her scattered items.
Out the corner of her eye she saw someone crouching down next to her and started helping her to pick up her items. Turning her head, she saw it was one of her classmates from her class. She remembered his name as Edward Barnes or Eddy as he liked to be called. If she remembered correctly he was here at Juilliard to learn how to produce and write music. When they finally collected everything they stood back up.
"Thanks for the help Eddy" Cassie said with appreciation.
"No problem Cassie" he replied back.
The two friends started making their way to their next class when suddenly The Arbiter appeared in front of them.
"Who or what is that?" Eddy asked scared for his life.
A look of protectiveness came over Cassie who then turned to her friend.
"Go, make sure people get to safety" she said.
Eddy without giving it a second thought took off running leaving Cassie alone with The Arbiter.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Cassie asked as she got into a fighting stance.
"Cassandra St. Clare, I am The Arbiter" The Arbiter responded as he brandished his blade then pointed it at the former Lore Keeper Pink Ranger. "And you have been deemed unworthy." He said matter-of-factually.
So yes like I had Tommy explain to Kendrick, the future that Cassie is in a possible future to the Trident Force Timeline. I did this as a set up for a team up between my Trident Force Rangers and Cassie's team Lore Keeper Rangers from decode9's series Power Rangers: Lore Keepers Seasons 1-3 which is really good and highly recommend reading.
