Chapter 19 (Plans)

"What are you even planning to do with her?" Sakura asked, she passed him an ice pack and sat beside him.

Naraku looked at her and smirked "We are going to get back together," he winced as the ice pack made contact with his bruised cheek.

"Tell your boyfriend to stop sticking his ass into my business. Okay?"

"I don't really know what you both see on that girl, Inuyasha is going crazy over her," Sakura scowled.

She needs a better strategy if she wants Inuyasha to stay. All her hard work was going down the drain because of that womans' return, she needs to get him back. She looked at her brother once again.

"You need a plan to get everyone's attention. I have something in mind," Sakura smiled devilishly.

"I think I am going to like this," Naraku sat straight on his seat.

"This is just a simple plan than involves you, Kagome and a little scandal," Sakura grinned.

Inuyasha parked his car and gawked at the house in front of him, he shook his head in disbelief and headed towards the door. He knocked on the door and a small smile formed on his lips as he heard a familiar voice from inside.

"Coming!" the door opened and a high squeal reached his ear.

"Inuyasha!" Sango gave him a big hug and ushered him inside.

"Miroku! He is here," they walked towards the kitchen. Miroku was running around the kitchen preparing the table. He looked up and a grin escaped his mouth.

"Hey buddy!" he placed down the plate and walked towards him.

"You lecher, you are getting married?" Inuyasha patted him in the back. Miroku smiled shyly as he scratched the back of his head.

"Well, she threatened me," Miroku whispered.

Inuyasha let out a melodious laugh, something he hasn't done in a while.

"Shut up Miroku," Sango glared at Miroku. Inuyasha watched the couple bicker with a small smile on his lips. He honesly missed everyone so much, they all drifted apart after college. He became busy with the company while the others became busy with other things.

"Im just kidding babe," Miroku gave her a quick peck on the lips and redirected his attention to Inuyasha. "So do you know what time the others are coming?"

"I think Bankotsu is on his way now, I was just on the phone with a while ago. He's pretty busy in the office lately," Inuyasha said as he popped a grape into his mouth.

"Like you haven't been so busy lately. You are in the news every week. Are you doing alright?" MIroku looked up from what he was doing to get a good luck of Inuyasha.

Inuyasha shrugged his shoulder, "I am actually not that busy right now. Seshoumaru is back in town, he is kind of taking over the business. I am planning on taking a break for a while, it has been a crazy and stressful month," INuyasha sighed.

"Where's your fiancé anyway?" Sango asked

"I don't know," INuyasha said nonchalantly. He actually has no clue, after deciding to cancel their wedding, he doesn't know if he should still continue their relationship. An image of another girl popped into his mind. Kikyo Kei. After dropping her off in her condo the other night, she refused him to walk her into her unit. She quickly left his car but not without saying 'thank you' and givng him a smile. That was the most genuine smile she has ever shown him and it awfully reminded him of Kagome.

"Why did you even cancel the wedding?" Sango asked, breaking him out of his thoughts.

"Got bored of her," he said "Can I have some beer?" Inuyasha asked as he made his way to their fridge. "This is a really nice house by the way."

MIroku and Sango looked at each other and shook their head with a smile. Some people just never change.

"Remember when we pulled a prank on Totosai?" Bankotsu asked as he laughed hysterically.

"That was really mean," Sango said as she took a sip of her drink, she broke into a smile and looked at everyone. "His reaction was priceless though," Everyone started laughing.

"Those were really some good times," Kouga said

"Who would forget when Inuyasha and Kagome tried to get out this-" Kouga stopped mid-sentence when he noticed everyone became quiet. He looked at Inuyasha and mumbled "Oh shit,"

"Good job Kouga," Souta rolled his eyes

"Do you guys seriously think that I am going to get offended because you mentioned her name?" Inuyasha gulped down his beer. "I am fine. It has been, what? Almost 3 years? 4 years? Since I have last heard from her? She is doing well, right Souta?"

Souta looked down the ground, his conscience slowly and silently eating him away. Sango looked at MIroku helplessly, Miroku held her hands tightly and mumbled a 'no'

"I have completely moved on," he placed down the can on the table and looked at everyone. The tension in the room became much thicker.

"So," Ayame tried to ease up the tension "when am I going to get my bridesmaid dress?" Ayame laughed nervously.

"The wedding is in 2 months so we have to get all of you guys measured up for your suits and your dress. I expect all of you guys to be in OUR wedding, understood?" Sango said

Inuyasha gripped the stirring wheel tighter, his thoughts going back to their conversation a while ago. Kagome is still a hard topic to talk about amongst them, even just mentioning her name makes everyone uncomfortable. They know how much it affects him, anything related to her is a sensitive subject.

It has been 4 years since she left but it feels like it hasn't been long since he got his heart broken. The wound is still fresh, the ache he felt after hearing the news about her leaving and the feeling of his world crumbling down after finding out that she was engaged was the most devastating feeling ever . He tried looking for her, for weeks he used all of his sources and tried his best to convince Souta to tell him where she was. Until he got a report, saying that she was with her parents and was getting married in a few days. He wanted to ask her so many questions and ask her for his forgiveness for whatever he has done to her. He was willing to do anything just to get her back but she already gave up on them. HE could never forget the feeling of his heart breaking into pieces as he read the letter Kagome sent her, everything he thought that was real was all lies.

He turned off his car and went inside his unit. Without flipping the lights he found his way to his room with ease. He lay on his bed and closed his eyes tightly, trying hard to erase the words etched in his mind.

'I never loved you.'

With her last words still engraved in his mind, he fell asleep.
