Chapter 1: Too Dangerous Vampires To Let Live?

-At The BBA After Two Months-

'Mr. Dickenson! Builders have finished the final fixes and we got more blood donations. Donations are being brought to the fourth floor,' woman secretary informed.

'Has there been any trouble?' Dickenson asked.

'Few people groups have protested but they were ended after we called the security but it's been quiet for a while. Something tells me though it's not going to last long Mr. Dickenson,' secretary answered.

'Thank you. You can go now,' Dickenson said and went to the elevator to go to the first floor. In there, Dickenson saw people at work at the counters, small kids running around as they wanted to go train beyblading in the training room on the first floor or buy new parts. It was like nothing had happened but the only reminder of it was the blood donation room on the other side of the room but it was clearly known. In front of it had a sign that said where the blood was going, to the vampires. And because of it the trouble usually happened there but the nurse has mentioned she didn't care about it.

Dickenson walked past the counter and saw the last wall fixed. Rebuilding had been fast and the entire town's fixes were complete enough to allow people to come back in. The only place that was restricted was where the fight had happened as army was still surrounding the area.

'Mr. Dickenson! We need your decision on the new parts for beyblades,' secretary found Dickenson again and came with more papers. As Dickenson took the papers there was shouting at the front door and security responded quickly.

'Move away asshole!' man yelled as security hold him and his friends back. Dickenson walked a little to the open to see the front door better and he was noticed.

'Dickenson! Why are you allowing kids to come here while you have monsters here too?! Kids aren't safe here!' man yelled as security pulled them back again and almost out of the window when Dickenson raised his hand.

'I understand your concern and it's understandable but just like I have told to others before you, they haven't harmed anyone here and they do drink human blood but through volunteer donations. Nothing is forced,' Dickenson explained.

'Haven't harmed anyone?! What about my family! They were turned to those ghouls and for what?! Do you expect us to just leave it that!' man protested and didn't care for the tight hold on his arm.

'I don't expect that but the vampires responsible for that have received their punishment. We are only doing what we think is right. Everyone was told to leave them alone and in exchange they stay here and don't harm humans. I do believe they are dangerous and cause fear for different reasons but they have proven to have emotions themselves,' Dickenson spoke but inside knew it was probably in vain.

'Monsters don't have emotions!' man yelled and without another word was pulled outside.

'You don't know how wrong you are,' Dickenson stated to himself mostly as he recalled the moment Christian came emotionally with Kai in his hands. They were even able to laugh like everyone else.

'Thank you. I expect that won't be the last one for a while,' Dickenson thanked the security and they returned back to the work.

'It's little hectic here,' woman's voice stated and Dickenson turned around smiling.

'Hey,' Judy stood there with a calm smile, 'How has it been here?' Judy had heard along with others what Christian and others were, and she was concerned but still trusted Dickenson to keep her son safe. Judy also trusted to Max's decision with this. All Stars were causing a scene as well since they were known in Japan as well. They were giving autographs to kids.

'It's been something. We have these situations a lot,' Dickenson admitted.

'What about people inside?' Judy asked worryingly.

'Well kids just want to beyblade like normal and just ignore the fact they are few floors above them. Adults show more clear signs of worry but don't say anything,' Dickenson answered.

'What if they come down? They can walk in here even during sunlight if they wearing those jackets,' Judy asked as All Stars finally came closer after been freed from fans.

'During the two months they have been here, only Tina has come down during the day once. It did cause the people to avoid her but she returned there soon after. She was bringing to my attention a small problem with the girl's bathroom,' Dickenson answered.

'What about during the nights?' Emily asked.

'Then they do appear more often. Like Mike, Sara and even Rick. This place is closed after 11pm and then some might come down or go outside to do whatever they feel. It's been going to the roof top mostly,' Dickenson explained since these things weren't a secret.

'What about Tyson and others?' Michael asked, 'Where are they now?'

'On the fourth floor with them. Well, mostly with Kai. He has been training them like in the old days,' Dickenson answered smiling.

'It looks like their leader has been quiet. Too quiet for my taste,' Judy stated with clear worry.

'Christian? Apparently, it's normal for him to be quiet and he does spend time together with his siblings. Judy…' Dickenson looked around him and saw happy faces with laughter, 'Honestly, what do you think? What I have seen the past months, I think Christian and others are just like us when it comes to living in peace.'

'I'm frightened but I do believe your and Max's word. Who would have thought that there has been vampires among us so long,' Judy said.

'Other than them we only know Susumu Hiwatari and his wife were vampires too but no one else. It's possible everyone is waiting for the result of the debate,' Dickenson said as they walked to the elevator.

'Not even vampire hunters have come forward,' Emily noted.

'That's true. Most of the people are waiting for the results too and ready to vote about it when it happens,' Judy agreed as they were going up. As the elevator doors opened to the fourth floor they could here Tyson's disappointed grunt. After glancing behind the corner they laughed for the reason. Mike had beaten Tyson in… ping pong. Max, Kenny and Sara were laughing as they have watched Tyson's many attempts to win.

'Why can't I beat you?' Tyson picked up the small ball and challenged Mike again who let out a chuckle and just shrugged his shoulders.

'Trying to be a ping bong master next?' Michael joked.

'Mom!' Max called out happily and ran to hug Judy.

'Hi guys and that's not the plan,' Tyson stated.

'Tyson just made a bet with Mike. If Mike loses in ping pong, Tyson is allowed to check Mike's room,' Kenny added as he was typing on his computer.

'What's that about dude?' Steve laughed.

'I want to see if he's hiding any dirty magazines or whatever,' Tyson chuckled at the end. Everyone could see it was their way of having fun.

'This is your first time meeting Mike right?' Max asked.

'The second actually in total but first time while knowing he's a vampire,' Emily cleared out and raised her glasses, 'Is it only you?'

Mike shook his head and put the ping pong racket down, 'Tina and Lara are on the next room and Rick is helping Kai with his ability training. Christian is in his room.'

'His powers?' Eddy asked as he sat down next to Kenny on the sofa.

'Yes. He has more control over them but they are making sure about it and get him used to them. Kai has the same force ability than Christian does,' Kenny replied.

'You act like the outside world doesn't exist,' Michael said with half humour.

Tyson tapped the racket on the table, 'What can we or they even do? Everyone knows what people think down there. I bet there was another scuffle there.'

Michael rubbed his neck, 'You're right about that.'

'Things have calmed down on the ghoul part but they are starting the main debate soon,' Emily checked her notes for the live tv debate. It was going to be shown to entire world with live voting too partly.

'I can't believe there will be a literal a vote on someone's life,' Tyson complained and dropped on another bigger sofa, 'Is that why you came today?'

'Pretty much. White Tigers are coming too and should be here soon. We were thinking that you would have liked to watch it together,' Judy asked.

'I'm going to vote for their lives for sure!' Tyson declared firmly with Kenny and Max nodding as Eddy walked up to the television and turned it on. Max, Kenny and Michael sat down next to Tyson on the sofa as television was put on the right channel. News channel was on and it was preparing to start the live debate in the government building with many politicians and leaders from different countries around the world.

'Should someone go get the vampires to see this?' Michael asked and Tyson poked him on the side.

'They have names you know,' Tyson pointed out when Sara tapped him on the shoulder this time.

'I'll go get the girls. Why don't you go pick up Kai and Rick?' Sara asked and Tyson stood up happily. He left running but stopped almost immediately.

'What about Christian?' Tyson asked and was clearly nervous. During the past weeks his anger towards Christian had faded but he did felt nervous around him instead. After seeing his emotional side back then helped with changing Tyson's mind. Originally Tyson had wanted to keep Kai away from him but it was clear that they cared for each other, although it wasn't normal brother-brother relationship.

'Let me do the honours,' Mr. Dickenson said and followed Tyson to the rooms as elevator door opened again and White Tigers walked in.

'Where is they going?' Lee asked as they walked to the sofa themselves.

'Not far. Just getting Christian and others,' Mike answered quickly.

-Tyson's View-

Tyson had run to the door and without knocking peeked inside the room. He could see Rick standing with his hands crossed while Kai was sitting down eyes closed. He looked like he was meditating.

'What do you want?' Rick suddenly asked and Tyson fell forward.

'Nothing! Live debate is about to begin and I was asked to get you, jerk,' Tyson grunted.

'Are humans always this rude or is it just you?' Rick did let out a small smirk. Before Tyson could protest Kai appeared in front of him and Tyson jumped up from fright.

'Just leave it. Let's go,' Kai stated and walked past Tyson without stopping.

'Don't do that! You can just walk you know,' Tyson called out after Kai as they walked out.

'This is something to get used to,' Rick shook his head as he stepped out of the room as well.

-Dickenson's View At The Same Time-

Dickenson arrived to the biggest room on the floor and knocked on the door but there was no answer. He waited for a while before knocking again. Since there was still no answer Dickenson opened the door slowly and saw Christian laying down on the bed with his hands behind his head.

'Are you sleeping?' Dickenson asked calmly while walking closer.

'No,' Christian replied quietly but didn't open his eyes.

'Live debate is about to start. Would you join us?' Dickenson asked. He heard Christian grunt before opening his eyes with a frown.

'You seem tense and stressed. Anything I can do?' Dickenson asked with worry.

'Don't treat me like a child you know. I'm not same to you like Bladebreakers,' Christian sat up on the edge of the bed while talking.

'I think that has changed a bit, don't you?' Dickenson smiled and saw Christian throwing him a questioning look.

'Everyone has experienced a lot. Tyson and others want to also defend you and others. I know there are humans don't feel the same as we do and you're right about what you said about humans trying to kill you the moment they can but…' Dickenson placed his hand on Christian's left shoulder without fear, 'Now you have us and don't have to be alone with this issue. You can trust us.'

Christian pushed the hand off and walked past the elder, 'Don't push it.' Christian continued waling out of the door and leaving Dickenson into his own thoughts.

'Looks like building trust with Christian is going to take more effort than with others,' Dickenson thought before going back to the others as well.

-With Everyone-

'You made it just in time!' Tyson called out when he saw Christian and Dickenson coming.

'Try to keep quiet Tyson now so that we can hear everything,' Michael said as Christian sat down next to Kai while Sara offered Dickenson her seat.

'Okay, okay. Sheesh,' Tyson mumbled and turned to the television.

-In The TV, Meeting Hall-

Middle-age man with glasses stepped in the middle of the room and stepped up into a stage with a microphone behind his ear and next to his mouth.

'I welcome everyone coming today in person and the people who are through a video call. I'm Jin Kane and Japan's representative. Today, we have here other world's other countries representatives to talk about the world's situation with worldwide voting,' Mr. Kane began, 'I'm sure all of you here know why we are here today but for the people around the world watching this we can't be sure. The reason we are here is to discuss what should be done about the fact that real vampires exit in the world.'

Worried talking already could be heard in the meeting hall and very worried looks. It didn't take long for the first protest.

'What is there to discuss? Everyone knows that a vampire was behind the massacre two months ago when those monsters appeared. Why hasn't Japan dealt with them?' one representative asked.

'I will ask everyone to calm down first and listen to the facts what we do know. As for your question, it was voted in our country to leave them alone until situation has been discussed because this situation is far more complex than you know,' Mr. Kane replied calmly and whispers started again.

'Alright. We will first began to tell you what happened months ago and what was the reason for it. Chief Thomas from police force, if you please,' Mr. Kane stepped down and Thomas stepped up.

'I'm Chief Thomas and I represent Japan's police force with the information we have gathered from eyewitness and… from the vampires who were at the centre of it. Ghouls first appeared in China out of nowhere and later in Japan which caused global shut down on borders and fighting against the ghouls. Army couldn't do much and many people were lost to them. Later it was found out by people sheltering in BBA building and others places in Japan that a different creature was behind the ghouls, a vampire but not just one but three,' Chief Thomas speech already got frightened gasps and Thomas waited for everyone to calm down. Until today it wasn't totally known around the world what exactly had happened but it didn't stop the rumours, but now they were getting the information first hand.

'These vampires simply wanted to kill humans and show that they are superior to humans. Also most likely didn't want to hide anymore and caused to them act this way but it's only a speculation. On the other side, there were vampire who wanted to stop the ghouls and fought against them by killing the vampires behind the ghouls. As we can see, they were successful but they didn't come out of it without injuries. After these vampires who saved the humankind have been living in the BBA building and haven't caused any trouble to this day,' Thomas continued.

'Who were behind it? How about the ones who stopped them?' another representative questioned.

'For those questions I let out leading scientist answer your questions in a moment,' Chief Thomas bowed a little and let Mr. Kane speak few words.

'The army General Hank and the scientist Samuel will be telling us who these vampires are and about theirs abilities,' Mr. Kane spoke before backing away again.

General Hank stepped up spoke up first, 'For the vampires responsible for the disaster, only one of our kind has one of them but do to his age, we won't tell his name. Here they are,' General Hank started a presentation and first picture came to the screen with a name and basic information.

'His name was Matt Hale and he was 15 years old before he was turned into a vampire. He's the one who was spotted by a witness. According to the information his powers were invisibility and quietness,' general Hank explained.

'How do you know that he was behind it? How do you know their abilities?' representative asked quickly.

General Hank kept his composure and answered, 'The witness who was being protected by another vampire saw Matt Hale attack them and heard him speak. Please, be patient everything will be explained.'

'Next, Gina Woods, 14 years old. Her abilities weren't really known but one of them was reverse attack. Meaning that she could reverse an attack coming towards her or reverse some other ability from someone else,' General Hank said before moving onto the main picture of three.

'Erik Jasoness, also 14 years old and his ability was ghoul making. He was the one who attacked humans and turned them into ghouls before unleashing them into the world. He was behind the disappearances of so many people at the time,' General Hank revealed.

'Those three were behind it all? Couldn't imagine by just the pictures,' yet another representative asked.

'It's surprising. Now, we have a bigger list and these vampires are the ones who killed them,' General Hank continued the slides, 'Before anyone asks questions, allow me to explain everyone first. Samuel and I will answer them after that.'

'All of them look between ages 14 to 16 but have been vampires a long time. Ages here are basically their real age how long they have been alive. For the Matt, Gina and Erik we didn't have that information. First, Tina Reed, over 360 years old and her ability is putting her opponents to sleep,' General Hank began slowly and for good reason. The age alone caused a ruckus in the meeting hall and Mr. Kane had to quiet everyone down.

'Second, Lara Brooks, over 290 years old and ability is cause pain to others in some shape of form,' General Hank showed a new slide.

'Third, Mike Williams, over 390 years old and ability manipulation or mind control in other words.' Now it was the ability that caused worried whispers but Hank ignored them.

'Fourth, Rick Wilson, over 450 years old and ability paralyzing and time control. His ability has been seen by many in action and it saved one of the shelters and other humans even before that,' Hank added.

'Fifth, Sara Andrews at first but it has been confirmed that her real last name is Hiwatari, Sara Hiwatari. She's over 350 years old and ability is invisibility and slightly faster speed. Speed in this case means their ability to run faster. According to the information fast speed is every vampires ability but there is separate ability to it. In her case she's slightly faster than other vampires so far.'

'Sixth, Kai Hiwatari. He was only turned into a vampire about a year ago. So, his age is 15 years old. His ability fast speed and fire. He has a force ability too but he can't control it yet in command but is practising.'

'And lastly, their leader, Christian Hiwatari, over 500 years old and he has many abilities, fast speed, time control, teleporting, scanning his surroundings, seeing into the future, force and memory control. He, Kai and Sara are siblings and have same parents who no longer are alive. The day they died, their father Susumu Hiwatari was over 1900 years old and their mother Katherine Hiwatari was 1500 years old,' General Hank finished and everyone was quiet from shock.

'That's madness! If I wouldn't have seen those ghouls myself I would have never believed this but there has been vampires among as that long? Almost 2000 years,' one representative finally spoke up.

'How do you know their abilities? Couple of kids have a same powers? How can this Christian have so many? What does memory control mean?' another representative questioned.

Scientist Samuel stepped next to Hank, 'Some of those abilities were seen in action and rest were told by Christian and others when General Hank questioned them. The reason for shared powers is the fact that abilities are passed on. Christian here has turned Kai, Sara and Rick into vampires and that's why they share same abilities and still have their own. And as for the last question, it literally means memory control. Christian has an ability to control someone's memories, change, block or delete them but he can also return them back and he can use this ability from the distance. One example is the fact that he made the whole world forget Kai Hiwatari as the beyblading champion but those memories have been returned.'

'That's insane! Among all of them he's the one who is the most dangerous one. Not to mention Mike and even this Rick,' representative yelled out angrily.

'Calm down. What is the force ability?' another representative continued with more calm demeanour.

'To explain that I'm going to show you some video clips and pictures because your thoughts about him being dangerous is also true and for everyone's sake when it comes to voting, we must be honest about everything here,' Hank went to the laptop and showed few video clips from the BBA building where security cameras were recording the situation a lot. Everyone watched how ghouls were lifted up into the air, exploded, pushed back, from inside how Christian put his hands on the ground and scanned the planet and finally how he created the field around the building before teleporting away.

'His force ability basically allows him to do different things. He can create a clear force that can be seen by the eye but also use it to attack from the inside in different sizes and which we come to this picture,' Hank showed a picture of the huge, destroyed area.

'Many cameras and eyewitnesses saw a brute force and explosion happening from this location and this is the result. Entire area is gone, going many blocks, big buildings and who knows what else was in there. This was the cause of Christian's ability force when the fight between the vampires happened,' Hank explained with serious tone.

'They are too dangerous to let live. Why are they still alive?! There is no way we can allow someone like them to be among humans!' a representative from the beginning asked once again, 'Can they even control their powers? This Kai apparently has trouble.'

General Hank explained, 'When vampires are first returned it's only natural for their powers be like that which means practise, which Kai Hiwatari has been doing the last year. But despite they can go out of control for couple of reasons. First, they haven't drank blood for a while which increases that risk and second, they don't control for example of their own emotions enough.'

Mr. Kane stepped on the stage this time, 'That is why this discussion is happening. There are many who think as you do but at the same time there are people who believe that they shouldn't be killed just because they are different. Of course they acknowledge the facts about their dangerous powers and need for blood to survive. The past two months BBA has put up a blood donations and to this day volunteers have offered their blood to them in exchange for money or for something from the BBA store, mostly beyblading parts. Many donators are around 15 years old and parents of those whose kids do beyblade.'

'Not only that BBA director Stanley Dickenson and many others like Judy Tate, White Tiger beyblading team, All Starz beyblading team and finally the Bladebreakers have spend time with them. According to what they have seen in their normal daily lives, these vampires don't act any differently than humans. They laugh, have fun and so emotions like everyone else,' Mr. Kane continued while showing Mr. Dickenson's report about them.

'Many also asked us not to forget that they saved the humans from the ghouls and protected people in the shelters,' Mr. Kane added at the end and showed results from online questionings. That caused everyone to be quiet once again since they couldn't argue against the facts either.

'I believe it's time for the vote and see what the world thinks. I personally believe that they should be allowed to live but they need to be handled somehow,' first representative said.

'I don't agree,' another one said.

'Alright then. To everyone here and people watching. This is the questions: Should the Christian and the others be allowed to live? Vote now,' Mr. Kane opened the voting line and votes began pouring in.

In the BBA building Tyson and others were voting quickly and hoped many more would say yes too.

'They made Christian sound like a monster out of all of them. Bastards,' Tyson complained.

'When they say everything out loud, he does seem like it and it can't be helped,' Kenny tried to reason but they could see Christian's expression. He was leaning against his own hand with angry look in his eyes.

'I would guess those powers have a big effect on their decisions. Mind, time and memory control don't sound pleasing,' Lee added himself, 'Which means people fear Christian, Rick and Mike the most.'

'Tsk. Humans,' Tyson mumbled and others stared at him.

'Couldn't have said it better,' Mike laughed. Others found it funny at the end and burst into laughing too, expect Christian, Rick and Kai. Rick did smirk a little but his attention was on the television along with Christian and Kai. They could only wait what was the world's choice, basically.
