Hey kay,

You're the first one to read my sad attempt on an IzayaFF. Well…I've written some chapters of it already, so I'll publish that stuff, and afterwards, you'll have to wait 'til I figured out how to continue. Anyways, thanks for your support!

(Since I really think, even though Rei is such a Mary-Sue – working on that - that the storyline of this is even better than the one I have in my other FF.)

And to anyone else who'll stumble upon this – leave a comment, please. Love you!

The place we were at was a building, I'd say seven floors. And up there a parapet. I looked up, but there was nobody in my sight. I snorted and made my way to the door. It was open.

After some stairs, we arrived at the final door. I opened it after a small hesitation. The door opened up to a roof, like of thousands of other buildings too. I started walking and looked around. The roof was empty.

"Ahh, Leika-chan and her…brave savior." I turned around slowly. The man just closed the door where we went in through. He didn't seem to be old, and he wasn't what I expected him to be. He was a lot more good-looking and normal. Expect for the weird coat with fur trim he was wearing. Following one of my habits, I searched for his eyes, and looked straight into them. I took a half step back. Those eyes were…dangerous. I knew that that guy was more than just trouble.

I just wanted to ask him what sort f freak show this was, when the girl spoke:

"Um…could you happen to be Nakura-san?" My mouth almost fell open. "You know him?" She didn't respond, but he did.

"We really do know each other in a way. Will you leave us alone for some minutes so we can speak alone?" I didn't like him.

I looked at the girl. "If you want to talk with this…guy alone, I'll wait over there. When you guys are done talking, I'll give you a ride home, 'kay?" She nodded. With a last suspicious look towards Nakura, I made my way to the other side of the roof. I sat down and eyed the stranger suspiciously.

I kept an eye on the couple, but from what I could tell, he was really just talking to her. I didn't understand what about, but I could hear their voices and see what they were doing.

Well, it was mostly his voice.

After a while – I'd say fifteen minutes – Nakura walked towards me. I didn't move a muscle. I knew that he was dangerous though I couldn't say why I thought that. Probably I just didn't like him.

He stopped in front of me. I looked up to him, and I didn't even try to keep my disliking towards him a secret.

"Done talking? Then, can I bring her home already, without fearing that you'll get her kidnapped again?"

I knew, I had no freaking proof. But I wanted him to know that I didn't like him.

"How rude." He smiled at me, in a way that scared the creeps out of me. That guy was out of my league, I knew it.

"But don't worry, I don't intend to let her get kidnapped again." I stood up.

"So you really were the one organizing that kidnapping?", I growled, secretly amazed on being in the right – it had just been a joke. He nodded, his eyes looking at me like he could look into the deepest of my soul. Scary wasn't word enough to tell what that was.

I fought with myself. On the one hand, I wanted to punch him for letting a girl get kidnapped. No matter for what excuse. On the other, I was scared of him.

I decided on staying calm at first. I could try to fight him afterwards anyway.

"Why?"

He smiled. And started walking around; my eyes followed him. "I wanted to see the emotions on her face when I told her everything. Of course, it was sort of boring, I predicted everything like it actually happened." He looked over to me. "Except for you; I didn't think that someone would interrupt."

I stared at him in disbelief. "You made her go through that sort of thing so you could see the emotions on her face when you told that it was all you who planned her kidnapping and rescue?"

He nodded. "Yes! It is sort of amusing."

I felt my fist shaking, but I controlled myself. "Why? Why do you do something like that?"

He chuckled. "I love humans, that's why." I winked.

"If you love humans, shouldn't you be nice towards them?" He laughed. "You got it wrong! I love how they act, I love their emotions! I love to watch them." His eyes met mine again.

I took a step back. "You're the worst. You're insane!" He chuckled. "What a mean thing to say. After all-"

He was suddenly so close to me that I almost tripled when backing off. "You don't care for humans at all."

"What?!" I wasn't growling, I was shouting. I tried to hit him, but he dodged easily. "How can you say that I'm a sick psycho like you?!" He grinned.

"What's the name of the girl?" He asked. I was so confused by that question that I forgot I wanted to kill him. "How does that fit here?"

The weird guy started walking around again. "You don't know her name, do you? You never cared for it." I stayed silent. Well, I didn't know her name, but still, it had nothing to do with it! I wasn't friends with her, was I?

The man continued. "You asked for Celty's name, didn't you?"

"She's the Black Biker; you don't get to see an urban legend in person that often!"

"So you want to say that Celty is important enough to get asked for her name, but that girl isn't?"

I glared at him. "Of course not! I just-"

"You just didn't care. You don't care about her name. You don't care about her at all." I narrowed my eyes at him.

"That's not true! Why should I have helped her then?"

He grinned. "First: You didn't know it was her when she got kidnapped, did you? You would've rescued her even if she was someone else."

"I can't see what's so bad about it-"

"Second: After the interesting part was over, you lost your interest in her."

"I said, that's not-"

"You didn't ask what I did to her yet. You didn't want to go to her to see how she is. You didn't ask one question about her well-being. You weren't interested. And I can tell you why: She – or better said, her rescue – wasn't the interesting part about this anymore. Nor was it Celty. No, the interesting thing that appeared was me."

His brown, scary eyes held my look. I couldn't look away, and for a second, I was scared that he would find out everything about me by just looking at me.

"To put it like this, you are way worse than I am. I love humans, though my actions may look otherwise. But I am still honest with them – in my way. But you – you don't care for humans at all. The only reason you're helping them is because it makes you feel better."

I tried to back off further, but the parapet blocked my way back. I stared at that man, who just made me question my whole life and all my morals.

"Who…who the heck…are you?"

I was seriously scared of him. Not in the way I would be of a man who'd try to attack me physically. That guy was way more frightening.

He turned around, gave me one last look and said, waving his hand in a playful way:

"My name is Izaya Orihara, and I'm information broker. Thanks for the talk, it's been fun."

I stared at him disappearing, and tried to understand what the heck just happened.

Slowly recovering, I made my way to the girl. She seemed to be even more shocked than I was; she stared off into space with wide eyes. I kneeled down next to her, put my hand on her shoulder. I wanted to ask her what he said to her, but I realized that I didn't want to speak about the talk with him either, so I let it be.

"Let's go. I'll give you a ride home."

She nodded slowly and stood up. We made our way downwards, and I lend her my helmet, asked for her address, made sure she was sitting safely behind me, and drove on. When I dropped her at her home, she quietly gave me my helmet and wanted to head inside, but I grabbed her sleeve.

"Wait. Your name..it's Leika, right?"

She smiled a little, but it still seemed to be a little off. "My name is Anako Asami. Leika is the name I use in a chatroom. Thanks for everything today." She bowed deeply. I shook my head. "No big deal. Let me know if you have trouble again – no matter what sort of." I hesitated. "I'm…Rei." She bowed again. "It's nice to meet you." I swallowed. "Well then. See you around."

I wanted to say good bye, when I remembered something. "Ehm, Anako-san?" she looked at me, waiting for me to continue. "Can I ask a favor of you? I'd really appreciate if you wouldn't tell anybody about my little bike here…I'm sort of not supposed to drive a thing like that at my age." She nodded. "I won't tell anyone. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. In return, could you please stay quiet about… what happened tonight?" I nodded, too. "I'll take it into my grave." We smiled at each other.

I put on my helmet, revived my bike and drove on. I saw her through my mirror for a blink, then I turned behind a building and lost her out of my sight.
