Despite the absurdity of it, my legs began to feel weak, causing me to plummet into the nearest chair. I wracked my brain for any information my father may have given me that could lead up to this.

He never mentioned anyone.

He always said he'd never remarry.

He didn't sound any different over the phone.

He didn't seem in love.

He never asked me if I was okay with this.

I mentally ticked everything off of my checklist for reasons that would lead up to Charlie getting married again.

I could hear Alice and Jasper murmuring and I knew Edward was trying to get my attention, but I tuned it out.

Did he not care enough to tell me?

Is he scared of my reaction?

Is he scared of us meeting?

Is he scared of me?

"How could he not tell me?" I wondered aloud. "I mean, I'm still his daughter. I deserve to know, right?" My voice started getting higher and I was beginning to panic a bit. Alice was by my side in an instance, patting my back and telling me that "It was a sudden decision and I barely saw it coming." I felt myself growing calmer and gave Jasper a small smile.

I took a deep breath and felt Edward's hand wrap around mine. "So...um when is the-" I stopped to clear my throat, "wedding?" I asked as I fidgeted slightly.

Alice straightened up immediately and gave me a nervous smile. "Well, it seems that Charlie's new bride has decided to set the wedding for next weekend. On Saturday."

Okay Bella stay calm. I slowly breathed in and out even though it wouldn't help me since I was a vampire.

"Am I invited?" I asked hesitantly.

Alice nodded furiously and said, "Yup! She's even requested to meet you!"

"Do you know what her name-"

"Morgan"

"And how old-"

"34"

Okay. I can deal with a 6+ age difference. At least she's not like 22.

"Alright. When do we fly out?"

Alice perked up and practically shouted "Tomorrow at 7 a.m. She really wants to meet you Bella so you'll fly in earlier than everyone else!"

"Is Edward also coming?"

"Yes."

So Edward and I are flying to meet my future step-mother early.

Wonderful.

I felt Edward squeeze my hand as he said, "It'll be alright, love. We've been through far worse."
