COLONEL PINES'S POV:
Prologue:
It was the 17th of August, 1956.
Colonel Jack Pines was walking through the streets of Astoria, Oregon. The young man knew what he had to do.
He was on a mission for the CIA, to capture a portal on the nearby banks of the Columbia River. He knew where it was. Corporal Pines knew that it was a dangerous task and thought how his mission would go.
Would it go good or bad? He knew what could happen... he just didn't want to think bad thoughts.
He hated hell, that's a goddamned thing he hated. But, his connection to the Illuminati's creators WAS more important in his family tree... but he was careful about the planning, even more careful than General Patton himself.
But he didn't want to doubt himself. He knew the man, when he was younger. Patton was nearly killed in a car crash in 1945, after WWII ended. But, the old commander survived... and he knew what had to be done in revenge for the deaths of 2 of his family members in that same car crash. He became a greedy tyrant.
Since 1951, Patton has nearly led the USA into a conflict with the USSR, 3 different times. But Pines knew, and he knew alright. The world, he wished, could change out of the hell and nightmares of the past. The men lost, the resources downed, and most insanely: the massacres.
One thing was for sure: if it could take him 5 years, hell, even 30... he knew that he could stop the tyrannical Patton.
He arrived at the destination of the portal: 200 miles outside of Astoria, Oregon: the little town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. He carefully went into the sacred cave where the portal was, and dismantled it, piece by piece.
How could it be known to have been here, he thought, confused.
Then... he heard a low sound, which sounded like glass shattering. He froze in his tracks, stunned by the noise.
He quickly puts the dismantled pieces into his large backpack and runs for the exit of the cave. He then saw something out of the corner of his eye: a furry man standing, along with a few other furry men, including one that stood as tall as a tree. He knew what the creatures were: the Bigfoots.
His adrenaline reached a level where it seemed as if he was running down Mount Everest, rather than the caves of Gravity Falls. He started to breathe heavily, as sweat ran down his forehead, before reaching the exit of the cave, as he heard loud roars and garbled words that sounded to Pines, as if they were saying, "COME. BACK. HERE. YOU HUMAN TRAITOR."
Pines reached the sunlight, as the Bigfoots reached it as well. But the sun was too hot for them, and their skin started to sting and burn. They fled back into the safety of the cave, shrieking fiercely, hoping to never see the mysterious human again.
The Colonel thought he had saved himself with a bit of luck. He then walked into Gravity Falls, and sat on a pile of land. He then built a masterpiece that shocked the town, and he would become known as "The Mystery Colonel." And, The Mystery Shack was born.
As he had read the books of Major Sir Ernest Shackleton, the great Antarctic explorer, and Lieutenant George Mallory, the climber that went missing on Mount Everest in 1924, along with his fellow climbing partner, Andrew Irvine, the Mystery Colonel wanted to turn to another idea.
He wanted to find A mysterious Illuminati, that had sent the town into a "historic" town for 60 years. He called it "Cipher." He found 6 journals, knowing what the Cipher was and how and what its plans were. It looked like an Illuminati, the symbol of something even the Colonel himself hated, the New World Order. And he knew the Cipher wanted to create a New World Order... But, he would leave that up to his nephews, twins Stanley and Stanford Pines.
As he returned to military life, he became known for his bravery, especially taking down Patton, the greedy tyrant, appealing to the United Nations to send him to The Hague.
Eventually, he would retain the rank of General, but he would like to be called "The Mystery Colonel" on the West Coast, as he found one of Gravity Falls's darkest secrets: THE CIPHER TWINS, BILL AND WILL CIPHER.
