The void, Time Lords and saving people.
Chapter sixteen:
Disclaimer sadly
A while later, when the Doctor had cleaned himself up, the party had congregated in the dining room and were eating soup. Outside it had gone dark and a thunder storm had moved in.
"A terrible day for all of us. The Professor struck down, Miss Chandrakala taken cruelly from us, and yet we still take dinner." The Doctor said a touch unbelieving.
"We are British, Doctor. What else must we do?" Lady Edison said helplessly.
"And then someone tried to poison me," he continued, "any one of you had the chance to put cyanide in my drink, but it rather gave me an idea.
"And what would that be?" The Reverend asked.
"Well, poison. Drink up," he said calmly making everyone else shared a horrified look.
Well, everyone except Rose.
'So that's what he was doing in the kitchen, poisoning the soup, fantastic' Rose thought sarcastically. Thought she knew he wasn't thick enough to not think this plan through and poison his companion, daughter, himself and, to top it off, a major historical figure, so what had he done? She couldn't taste anything in it apart from well, soupiness, apart from the pepperiness if it but that was nothing to go on, and she couldn't feel any thing shutting down so- wait. Pepperiness, pepper, active ingredient piperine, there dealing with an insect, a giant wasp, same basic structure as earth wasps and almost every other insect in the universe, all with the weakness to piperine.
"Oh you clever asshole," she said before she could stop herself, this made him grin at her, he knew she knew what he did, 'good job Tyler, grow his ego, well done,' she thought to her self be for continuing, "you laced the soup with pepper."
"Ah, I thought it was jolly spicy," the Colonel said and continued with his soup.
"But the active ingredient of pepper is piperine, traditionally used as an insecticide. So, anyone got the shivers?" The Doctor asked the group.
Then, almost as if on cue, there was a big, loud crack of thunder and the windows blew open, blowing out the candles in the poses and plunging the room in to darkness.
"What the deuce is that?" Colonel Curbishley cried out.
Rose was not missing this, she knew that, for some reason, this psychotic alien was acting like one of Agatha's characters and it wouldn't miss a chance like this. She took her mask out from her coat pocket and turned it on, it instantly went to night vision mode.
"Listen, listen, listen, listen," the Doctor repeated trying to settle the panicked guests and hosts so he could hear the buzzing sound.
Though Rose could already see where it was coming from, the Reverend, he was vibrating and buzzing though looking just as confused as everyone else.
"No, it can't be," Lady Edison whispered disbelievingly.
Lightning illuminated the room for a moment before Agatha stood "Show yourself, demon," she said and then everyone started running around panicking.
Rose watched the Reverend as he ran to one end of the room and stopped under the painting there, the vibrations getting worse until he silently transformed in to the wasp that they were chasing before.
"Nobody move. No, don't! Stay where you are," the Time Lord yelled, trying to get everyone to stop moving around.
But then the Reverend wasp became visible in the light from outside, resulting in more panic from the guests and hosts.
"Move! Out, out, out, out! everybody out!" Rose yelled to get the others moving.
Thought only the Doctor, his two companions, Agatha and the butler left, but Rose couldn't careless about that right now. As they left the room, the wasp dove down, heading straight for Roger Curbishley. Thought he never did get the chance to kill him.
Quickly, Rose jumped up and back on to her chair and then leaped towards the alien bug, colliding with him and smashing in to the wall. He knew that the Doctor would be back and was running out of time not to blow his cover and was starting to panic. Once the two got to the wall, he took control and through Rose to the ground and stabbed the tip of his stinger in to her leg, a few inches above her knee, making sure that that he left enough poison in the wound before flying off and changing back to human and looking as innocent as possible before the Doctor came rushing back in with the others with a sword.
But the damage had been done and Rose was lying on the frowns where the wasp left her trying to stop the flow of blood from her leg wound and also trying to stop her self from screaming from the pain of the poison going through her. But all to soon, the pain and blood loss got the better of her and darkness took her.
Sorry it's kinda short but I really rather not be exterminated by the guest.
Love? Hate? Oh well.
