Author's Note: Hello everyone. First, I want to apologize to my loyal readers and fans for abandoning this story. You all have rocked with me and I apologize for leaving you guys hanging like that. I honestly meant what I said at the end of the last chapter and stopped this story. Then it didn't sit right with me, and I couldn't do that to you guys. It just didn't feel right having it say 'Complete' when it wasn't and ending it right there.
*****Note: You will have to log out and leave a guest review if you've already reviewed Chapter 19. The site won't let you post two reviews from an account to the same chapter. If you had problems reviewing, that's why.
I got some hate for asking you guys not to guess. My REAL fans and friends didn't seem to mind. But some people on Tumblr did. Check out this post;
"But forreal though, what REAL difference does it make if someone makes a guess about your fanfic? If you're a writer who truly takes pride in your work and you enjoy doing it, why should it matter if people discuss and speculate on what's going to happen next? If they happen to guess correctly, then hey~ that means they're seeing your line of thought (lord knows how difficult that can be to get across in writing) and they're actively analyzing your work and, frankly, just having someone to REVIEW with that kind of speculation is an honor for me as an amateur writer myself. If you feel the need to rewrite your entire plot over a fucking guess that may or may not have been correct in the first place, maybe the problem's with you and your writing, not the person making the guess."
#there's not even a legitimate reason i can think of as to why someone would feel the need to prevent their readers for making guesses #and then punish your readership but stopping the story cold because someone made a guess #liiiike #what's the reason for that really? #that shit makes zero sense to me
And this comment;
"Seriously, that's like the dumbest shit ever. But of course it's coming from her…"
Now these came from people who don't like me and the feeling is mutual. I feel the need to discuss it since they did. I DO take pride in my work and I think you all know that. I'm sorry that I'm the kind of writer that wants my readers to have something to look forward to. I don't care that another writer likes for people to guess their next move. I don't. I think I have the right to do that since I'm the one writing this story. I don't tell other people what to do with theirs, so why is what I do with my story even a factor to these people? If someone guesses correctly the aftermath of your cliffhanger and you like that and don't want to change it, then fine. But you seriously need to stay in your lane and let me do what I want.
I like to keep you guys on your toes and shock and surprise you. How dare I want my readers to have a good reading experience? How dare I politely ask you not to guess in your review? How dare I not want to show you my hand before the game is over? Shame on me for wanting the mystery and the suspense of what I want to do be revealed when it's supposed to. Shame. On. Me.
I don't care that that doesn't make sense to other people. It makes sense to me. True, I want people to understand what I'm trying to convey. So I'm sorry that I don't like people knowing exactly what I'm going to do before I do it. I'm sorry for wanting to change my plot line because someone guessed it. I'm sorry that I'm not as good of a writer as she is. I guess her word is bond, and I seriously suck at this. I'm so glad that she decided that me and my writing is the problem. You all must be idiots for liking my story and the way that I write. I should just give this up since she and some others don't approve. Should I just let her finish all of my stories?
I DO NOT own the lyrics to "All the Way Home" by Tamar Braxton. Used for entertainment purposes only.
I really hope you guys enjoy this latest update and this "save" that I have to continue the story. For the record, Karen WAS the person that yanked Regina from Danny's lap. I feel like me continuing with that person just seems futile to me. I know some don't understand. I do. That really makes me think I'm losing my touch and if I had stuck with Karen, that would have confirmed it for me.
The stuff written in italics is flashback and there's actually a flashback within that. I hope that isn't too confusing. Please let me know if you don't understand and I will explain it to you. I added the part from Chapter 18 so that you guys wouldn't be confused.
Please check out the other author's note at the end of the story. Reviews are hugs! :)
Danny awoke that morning groggy and feeling like he had a hangover. He vaguely remembered the night before. He isn't even sure if he said goodbye to Rico before ending their conversation. He felt like he was in the middle of a tornado when Rico told him what he talked about with Lacey. He knew that without a doubt that Lacey got the wrong idea when she saw Regina walk into his place. If he didn't already hate Regina, that would do it. He hated everything about her. He wished she had never come into his life. She would no longer be a problem for him though.
Danny got up and got dressed for work. He needed to be there. Though he felt like shit, he had to go to work. He needed a serious dose of caffeine to get him through his day. Maybe a proper meal. He showered and dressed and did the rest of the things he needed to do to prepare himself for leaving his place. Once he was certain everything was in order, he left and drove his Porsche to work. He held on to the hope that Lacey came to work and he could have a talk with her. He needed to explain that if she saw Regina walking into his place, it's not what she thinks. He hasn't suddenly gotten back with her. The thought of him getting back with Regina made his stomach turn. He couldn't be with a woman he hated that much. He thought back to the night before when she showed up at his place...
Regina takes this time to climb on Danny and straddle him. She was surprised that he wasn't aroused, but assessed that it shouldn't take long to change that. She reached down to stroke him. Danny had to close his eyes and pretend that she was Lacey to get the kind of reaction she wanted. Jackpot! Regina thinks. This was easier than I thought it would be.
Danny rubs her back and starts to stroke her hair. He grabbed her hair with a little force. He knew he didn't hurt her, but he did enough to scare her. He loved watching the reaction that appeared on her face. Danny leaned closer to her. "Regina, you never should have come back here." Danny says as Regina trembled and her eyes grow to the size of saucers with fear.
Danny placed his hand around her neck and started to squeeze. He could feel her pulse speed up and the bones in her neck. He really thought he was going to go completely to the dark side and end her miserable ass life.
"Danny...ack...you're...ack...hurting...me...ack..." Regina gagged as she reached for his hands to try and pull them from around her neck.
Danny's eyes started to darken. "I'm hurting you? Good." Danny taunted as he squeezed tighter.
Regina continued to gag and cough. "Please..." Regina begged. She felt as if she was losing consciousness. She thought he was going to kill her. She knew he was going to kill her.
She had no idea that someone was standing behind her until she was yanked from Danny's lap forcefully by her hair. She reached frantically at the hands pulling her across the floor by her hair trying to remove them, but the grip on her hair was strong. She started to wheeze, cough, and gag. Danny's grip around her neck was so tight, she was gasping and begging for air. It still felt as if his hands were around her neck. If she didn't know any better, she would really think that her neck was broken from how much pain she was in. She heaved and coughed violently to stabilize her breathing. She actually started to vomit. Plus she was dealing with the now splitting headache from the force of being yanked by her hair. She really felt like her scalp was either bleeding or on fire. She was seriously debating her life choices at that moment. She was the dumbest woman in the world for coming back there. She knew that now. She had to get herself together though. Maybe die after having fought for her life. Once she regained her composure, she looked around and wondered who pulled her from Danny's lap.
She looked up and couldn't believe her eyes.
The person stared down at her and smiled. "Hello, Regina."
Regina looked up in horror at Vikram's sister and Danny's aunt, Tara. She was more afraid than she thought she would ever be. She figured she should be from the way that Tara pulled her forcefully by her hair and dragged her across the floor. She knew of the bad blood between Vikram and his sister. She just didn't know how deep it went. This can't be happening, Regina thought.
"Regina. How are you? Why do you look so afraid?" Tara asks as she stands over her with a devilish smile on her face.
"Tara...what are you doing here?" Regina asks, trying but failing miserably to hide the fear in her voice.
"No, Regina. The question is, what are you doing here? Don't you think you've hurt Danny enough?" Tara asks.
Regina ignores her to buy herself some time. "What do you want, Tara? Why are you here?" Regina asks in a shaky voice.
"Oh, Karen, you know Danny's mother and Vikram's wife? She told me that you came back here and fucked up my nephew's life once again. I decided to come over here and help him with his little problem. Imagine my surprise when I saw you walk in here. I watched and waited. You didn't even notice that I came in here and watched you try to seduce Danny. Again." Tara says mockingly. "It must really be my lucky day. That sucks for you though."
"Why are you so angry with me? I've never done anything to you." Regina says to keep Tara talking as she figures out a way to escape.
"Regina. This isn't about what you've done to me. This is about what you've done to Danny, Lacey and Karen." Tara answers.
"But what does that have to do with you? This doesn't concern you." Regina says with finality as she tries to get up from the floor, but Tara knocked her back down.
"I didn't give you permission to move." Tara taunts further.
"Why are you doing this to me?!" Regina almost pleads.
"I just old you dear. Karen told me that you came here and fucked up Danny's relationship with his girlfriend, Lacey. The one that Karen and I like. We never liked you." Tara says.
"But this is between me and Danny. I am still his wife." Regina says.
"Oh, I know that. You're still his wife because you're a gold digging, slut, con artist that won't leave him alone. Just like Karen was still Vikram's wife when you were sleeping with him. What kind of woman sleeps with the father and the son? You were a fool to ever get involved with Vikram in the first place. I'm quite sure you know that my brother and I hated each other. I love my sister-in-law and my nephew more than you know." Tara says.
"So?" Regina says smartly.
Tara laughs heartily. "So? So I protect my family at all costs. I'd even be willing to kill for them." Tara says surely.
"What?" Regina stammers as she tries to regain her composure once again.
"I think you heard me correctly, Regina. But I'll repeat it. I'm willing to kill for my family. Even if the person hurting them is family. You said you're still Danny's wife. That makes you family too." Tara says.
"What are you talking about?" Regina asks in mock ignorance. Everything is becoming clearer to her.
"I think you should let her in on our family secret, Danny. Or do you want me to do it?" Tara asks as she looks at her nephew.
"I'd like to do that myself, Aunt Tara." Danny says as he walks up to Regina and stands over top of her. "Guess what happened to your boyfriend, Vikram." Danny says with anger and fury still in his eyes.
"He's dead." Regina says surely.
"Of course he's dead. Guess who killed him?" Danny asks in a mocking tone.
Regina tries to think. "You?" Regina asks although she's afraid of the answer.
"Nope. My dear Aunt Tara took care of that." Danny says happily.
"You do remember Vikram, right? I know you remember finding his dead body that day. You saw what happened to him, and he's my brother. What do you think I'm going to do to you?" Tara sneers.
"Why would you kill your own brother? What kind of monster are you?" Regina questions while still thinking of ways to get out of this.
"Regina, I think you're mistaken. My brother was the monster. Growing up with him was pure hell. He tortured me. Beat the hell out of me every chance he got. He started drinking at an early age and he was a mean, nasty drunk. I couldn't tell our parents about it because he was that scary. I vowed to get revenge on him. He conned you into marrying his son for money. For money! His own son. I can't believe you thought that a man that would go that far and hurt his own flesh and blood, would be good and honest to you. Are you really that stupid? You must be because here we are. Getting involved with Vikram may have cost you your life." Tara reveals things to Regina that she really didn't want to hear.
Regina starts to cry. She should have never come back there. "Please. I'll leave and never come back. I won't tell anyone. Just let me go. I'll sign the papers. I'll do whatever you want." Regina pleads with Danny and Tara.
Danny chuckled. "I warned you, Regina. Remember?" Danny says.
Regina looked at him and the expression he had on his face. She realized it was the same one when she remembered the day before...
Regina looked at Danny, and the absent look on his face and in his eyes. He didn't seem to be in the same room with her. She continued to be frightened. He's much scarier than his father. Vikram was a kitten compared to Danny. I may have made a mistake. Regina thinks as she looks for a way out.
Danny snapped back into reality. "I'm not the young guy you seduced and tricked into marriage anymore. I will cause you lots of pain. I have money. I can make you disappear, and then it won't be an issue anymore. I can make happen to you what I should have done when I found out what your plan was. You're going to sign those fucking papers and go away. And stay away for good this time. Do you understand?" Danny asks through clenched teeth.
"Yes." Regina says again. The look on Danny's face and the darkness of his eyes have scared her. She didn't know Danny had that in him. He really isn't the young guy she married anymore.
"I was very generous with my offer. But now since you came here and destroyed things for me, I'm taking that offer away. And if I don't get Lacey back, you'll go away." Danny says with certainty. He really didn't mean to scare her like that, but he meant business.
"Go away, where?" Regina asks in a scared voice.
"The same place Vikram, your boyfriend went." Danny answers gravely.
Regina's eyes got wide with fear. She thought she was the only one that knew about Vikram actually being killed after he faked his death. She knows Danny knew that he was still alive. She didn't know Danny knew he was killed. How does Danny know that part? Regina asks herself. "But..." Regina says.
"Bye, Regina." Danny says as walks into his bedroom, leaving her alone.
She left quietly, after having the second fright of her life...
Regina shook her head to remove the memory from her mind. She remembered what he said and remembered being afraid. She was more afraid now. She should have listened to him. She said the dumbest thing possible. "I thought you were just trying to scare me. And you did. I'm scared. I'll leave here and never come back. I won't tell anyone about this or about Vikram." Regina mutters.
Danny and Tara look at each other and laugh. "You should have thought about that before you brought your ass back here. I offered you money. You should have signed those papers. Then you tried to offer me your body like I'm that damn desperate. Your pussy isn't that good." Danny says in a nasty tone.
Regina ignores his last remark. "I'll sign them. I'll sign them right now. You don't even have to give me the money anymore." Regina says.
"Oh, we know that. We know you'll sign those papers. And I won't give you a dime." Danny says.
"Danny. I'll take this from here." Tara says as she reaches down and yanks Regina to her feet by her hair. She screamed out from the pain. Tara reaches behind her back and pulls out a gun and shows it to Regina. "I'm not afraid to use this. If you try anything, you'll get it worse than my brother did. Let's go." Tara says as she ushers Regina over to the elevator. As soon as she presses the button, the front door buzzed.
"Where are you taking me? Where are we going?" Regina wonders in concern for her safety. She regretfully found out what Tara was capable of and she was scared to death. She just found out that Tara killed her own brother. Regina always assumed that he was killed by the people that he was hiding from. She was wrong in her assumptions. That's how Danny knows about Vikram. Regina was more scared at that moment than she was the night she found Vikram.
"That must be my pizza." Danny says without a care in the world. He's done with Regina. Thanks to his aunt.
"You go down and get it. I'll stay here with her. We can't chance this bitch screaming for help." Tara says.
"You can just take the stairs. If she does scream, no on will hear her." Danny says.
"Come on, Regina. We're going on a trip." Tara says as she and Regina disappear through the door.
Danny ate his pizza and calmed his nerves with a beer. That was working until he got the call from Rico...
Danny thought about Lacey the whole time he was driving to work. He pulled into the garage and exited his car with an extreme amount of effort on his part. He didn't want to be at work, but he needed to be there just in case Lacey came to work. He felt like it had been a long time since he has seen her. She had become an intricate part of his life and he didn't want to lose her. He hated the sequence of events that led to them being apart. He hated Regina with everything inside of him. He had to thank his mother for calling his aunt and letting her in on what was going on in his life. He wished Tara had stepped in years ago. He would still be with Lacey.
Danny dragged himself into the building and stopped at the Starbucks. He needed coffee about as much as he needed oxygen at that point. He then got on the elevator and made his way to his office. He sat and refueled. He was getting up the strength to be disappointed by not finding Lacey in her office when Cole knocked on his office door.
"Hey man. How are you feeling?" Cole asks and gets a good look at Danny. "From the looks of things, you still aren't feeling well." Cole offers as he comes to sit down in one of the chairs in front of Danny's desk.
"Hey Cole. I feel like shit. But thanks for asking." Danny says as he gives a pained closed mouthed smile.
"I can see that. What's wrong?" Cole wonders.
Danny chuckled, causing Cole to wonder what has him laughing at his question. "I don't think you would believe me if I told you." Danny says and takes a sip of his coffee.
"What? What could be so bad that you think I won't believe you?" Cole asks quizzically.
"Well, Cole." Danny begins but gets up to close his office door. He doesn't need this circling around the building. He knows Lacey won't say anything, and neither will Cole. He comes back to sit down and pauses before he begins to tell his friend his unbelievable story. "As I was saying, to make a long story short, my estranged fake wife came here and ruined everything that I had with Lacey." Danny says and waits for Cole's reaction.
Cole looks just as shocked as Lacey looked when she found out he had a wife. "Estranged fake wife? What the hell? You're married?" Cole asks incredulously.
"Unfortunately, yes. I'm still legally married to that bitch. I won't be for long though." Danny says with certainty. He knows for a fact that Regina won't fuck around with him any more.
"You're married? You?" Cole asks again. He can't believe that Danny, of all people, is married.
"Yes, Cole. I was stupid enough to marry the first girl I thought I loved when I was nineteen. I was young and dumb. She only married me for my money. I found out her plan. I hid my money from her and started sleeping around so she left. I haven't seen her since then. I found her to end this farce, so that I could marry Lacey. She came here and ruined everything. Everything. Lacey won't even talk to me." Danny says, while only telling Cole the main parts of the story. Cole doesn't need to know shit about his father and Regina. Especially the stuff about his father and his aunt.
"You're right. I don't believe you. But I know you aren't the kind of guy to must make shit up. I take it you never told Lacey you were married." Cole responds.
"That would be correct. I've never seen Lacey that angry or hurt. And we hated each other. I love her, Cole." Danny says solemnly.
"I can see that. Is that why she's not here?" Cole wonders.
"Yup. I've got to get her back, Cole. I've got to." Danny says.
"I'm sorry to hear that things are messed up. Maybe she'll come around. It's not like you were cheating on your wife with her. She might just need time to get over the shock. I'm still shocked, so I wonder how she feels. I won't tell anyone your secret. You already know that." Cole says as he stands to leave and walks over to the door.
"I hope you're right. Thanks, man." Danny says. He gets to work for a few hours until he gets a call from Rico. He actually calls him on his work line. "Danny Desai." Danny answers.
"Hey, Danny. It's Rico. I have some good news for you. I was just calling to let you know that the papers from Regina came in. She faxed them over late last night. You know we still have to go to court to get a judge to finalize it, so I called in a favor to my judge friend. He has some free time on his docket today if you and Regina can make it. I know you want to get this over and done with as quickly as possible. Since she's still here, I figured we could do it today. Do you think you can make it?" Rico says the information so fast, it almost goes over his head.
Danny took a little bit of comfort in that. He was rid of that bitch. "That is good news, Rico. It's the best news I've heard in a while. Let me talk to my boss and Regina. I'll call you back in ten minutes." Danny says. He just felt a surge of adrenaline. He picked up his cell and called Tara. "Have that bitch dressed and ready to go in an hour. We're going to court." Danny says as he stands up and puts his suit jacket on. He told his boss that he was taking an early lunch and called Rico back before he left his office.
He hoped that would be enough to get Lacey back.
Danny arrived at the courthouse with time to spare. He stood out front and waited until Rico walked up to him. "Ready?" Rico asks.
"More than ready. She's not here yet." Danny says and before long, Regina, Karen, and Tara walk up. Regina still looks scared as hell. "Here she is now."
"Hello, Danny. It's a beautiful day, isn't it?" Karen says.
Danny smiles. "Yes, it is." Danny states. He then introduces Rico to the three women. "Rico Benetti, this is my mother, Karen, my aunt Tara and my former wife, Regina." Danny says happily.
Rico looked really surprised to see Regina there with Danny's mother and aunt. He knew that Karen was going to testify that their marriage was a fraud on Danny's behalf and as a witness. He just wondered why she was there with the woman whose husband she slept with and tricked her son. He let it go though. He had a job to do for his friend and client. "It's nice to meet you all." Rico says as he extends his hand to them. Regina barely wanted to shake his hand.
"Thank you for helping Danny so quickly with his problem." Karen says.
"No need to thank me. I'm happy to help out a friend. Plus Danny is paying me good money for this." Rico says and everyone laughs except for Regina. "Shall we?" Rico asks and the four follow him into the courthouse.
After a minor wait, and a testimony from Karen, Danny and Regina, plus the affidavits signed by Regina and Danny, Judge Douglass Howard declared that the marriage between Daniel Desai and Regina Crane was null and void.
Danny was a free man.
Regina was sent away with a stiff warning from Tara that if she was ever stupid enough to come back or to tell what she knew about Vikram, she would make sure that she never took another breath. She promised her that if she didn't do it herself, either Karen or Danny would take care of it for her if she wound up in jail. She also told her that she would be watching her. She recited her address, where she worked, even the names of the men that she was trying to con as well.
Tara didn't mean a word she said though. She wanted Regina to leave town with the feeling that she was being watched, but that she was off the hook. In due time, Tara would appear in her life and truly pay her back for all of the anguish she caused. It was the least she could do for Danny. He was her nephew and deserved to have her look out for him since he had the world's worst father and he deserved better than that.
Regina took Tara's warning seriously. She would never, ever set foot in Green Grove again, and would never, ever tell a soul about Tara and Vikram.
Lacey left her mother's house with her mission of getting the truth out of Danny on her mind. She was glad that her mother gave her something to consider that neither she nor Clara thought about. She cherished the motherly wisdom her mother gave her from time to time. She was really glad that her mother told her that she and Danny could work past their problems, even after what she went through with her father. If her mother could forgive that kind of betrayal and move on, then so could she. Lacey never admired her mother more than she did at that moment. She strived to be just like her one day. She was on that road to getting there with her decision to take Danny back. She hoped he would still have her. She also needed to thank Rico. Rico set the ball in motion to her forgiving him. If she hadn't run into him and talked, she and Danny never would have reconciled.
She thought about him the whole time she was driving home. The song playing on the radio made her super emotional. She pulled over on the side of the road so that she wouldn't have an accident. Her feelings for Danny were overwhelming her. She needed him back in her life.
Wait a minute baby, going too fast
Imma turn back, ohhhhh
Wait a minute baby, going too fast
Imma turn back
Dont even know what we fighting for
Damn I need a minute, so baby keep your distance
Heard it out, so Imma just go
To find a waiting up,
I just need some time alone
Damn where the hell are my keys
I just wanna leave, get in my car,
And now Imma just drive, all night
Turn off my phone, radio on, and drive
So why I'm just
Screaming out the road, got my head out of control
Cause I'm thinking about you all the way home
Got a long way to ride and I can't even deny
I've been thinking about you all the way home
Wait a minute baby, going too fast
Imma turn back
Thinking about you all the way home
Wait a minute baby, going too fast
Imma turn back
I've been thinking about you all the way home
Hey baby, I'm back and I come down
I've done with all cursing
I came to give you something
You got me screaming for a different reason now
Why we break up,
Stop, turn it up
Neighbors loud, I need down,
I head to my car, I don't wanna go
But it's getting late, so why don't I just drive all night
Moving real slow, radio low, just drive
So why im just
Screaming out the road, got my head out of control
Cause I'm thinking about you all the way home
Got a long way to ride and I can't even deny
I've been thinking about you all the way home
Wait a minute baby, going too fast
Imma turn back
I've been thinking about you all the way home
Wait a minute baby, going too fast
Imma turn back
I've been thinking about you all the way home
And all I road, I knew I shoulda stayed right where I wasnt
Instead of drive and think of you
So why I'm just
Screaming out the road, got my head out of control
Cause I'm thinking about you all the way home
Got a long way to ride and I can't even deny
I've been thinking about you all the way home
Wait a minute baby, going too fast
Imma turn back
I've been thinking about you all the way home
Wait a minute baby, going too fast
Imma turn back
I've been thinking about you all the way home
Lacey decided to run home because she had to get herself together before she made the trip to Danny's place. She pulled into her driveway and turned her car off. She saw headlights in her rearview mirror and looked to see who had pulled up behind her. Maybe they were just turning around. She got out of her car and looked behind her to see Danny getting out of his Porsche. He stood beside his car and nervously smiled at her. Danny seemed genuinely happier to her, but he didn't exude the natural confidence and charisma he usually displays. He seemed timid and reserved.
"I'm sorry to just come by like this. I know you don't want me here-" Danny begins but Lacey interrupts.
"It's ok. I don't mind." Lacey says and smiles at him.
Danny gingerly smiled back at her. "Can I come in? Please?" Danny asked.
"Yes." Lacey says and starts to walk towards her front door with Danny following. She opened the door and Cricket was there to greet her. Lacey bent down to pick her up and started to rub her. "Hi. Cricket."
"Where did she come from?" Danny asks sincerely as he shuts the door and watches Lacey interact with her kitten.
"I got her today. I was sad and needed something to put a smile on my face and keep me company in this big house." Lacey says a little sadly, though she's happy to interact with her new friend and roommate.
"Well I'm glad to see you have something to make you happy. That's all I want, Lacey. I'm sorry that I hurt you by not telling the truth about my past." Danny says sincerely.
"I'm sorry too. I'm sorry that I was that nasty to you and for not believing you. I ran into your friend Rico and he confirmed that the story was true. I was going to come and apologize last night. Then I saw your wife walk into your place and not leave, so I thought the worst and came home." Lacey says.
"I talked to Rico. He told me the story. I assumed that you saw her come in. It's not what you think though. We were just discussing us ending our fake marriage. That's it." Danny says, although he isn't telling her the entire truth. Lacey doesn't need to know all of that. She just needs to know that he loves her and his marriage to Regina is over.
Lacey shook her head and smiled. "I believe you. I talked to my mother about it. She thinks we can get past this." Lacey says. "I'm sorry that I made what happened to you all about me. What your father did to you was despicable. Please forgive me for being so misunderstanding about the situation."
Danny smiles and walks toward her. "I forgive you. You forgive me? You really want to try and make this work?" Danny wonders hopefully.
"Yes. I forgive you. If my mother could forgive my father, then I can forgive you." Lacey says as she smiles at him.
Danny rushes towards her to kiss her but she puts her hand up to stop him. "Not so fast, Danny. I can't get involved with you again until your marriage to her is over. I know it wasn't real, but I can't morally be with you when I know you're still technically married to her." Lacey says. She puts her kitten down and just looks at him.
"Lacey, I'm not technically or legally married to her any more. She signed the papers. We went to court today. It's over." Danny says cheerfully. He's happy as hell that it's over and Lacey wants to take him back.
"Danny, don't lie to me. I'll give our relationship another try, but not right now. I'm serious about this. I can't be with you until your marriage is over." Lacey counters.
"Lacey, I'm not lying. We really went to court. I'll be right back." Danny says before he opens her door and rushes outside. He comes back seconds later with papers in his hands. "See. It's official. She's out of both of our lives." Danny says.
Lacey takes the papers and looks them over. He's telling the truth. His marriage to Regina is over. She doesn't say anything and goes over to hug and kiss Danny. They started to kiss like they were grasping for their last breath. It felt like it had been too long since they were together. Lacey melted into his arms as his hold on her intensified. She released her grip on the papers she had on her hand and they fell to the floor at their feet. They continued to kiss until Lacey broke the kiss. "It feels like it's been a long time since we kissed." Lacey says as she beams at him. Just that quick it seems as if everything that they went through the past couple of days never happened. They got right back where they were before the disruption.
Danny smiled too as he pulled her closet. "It does. But it also feels like nothing ever happened." Danny says.
Lacey says nothing and takes him by the hand and leads him upstairs to her bedroom. She needed to be with Danny again. Once they got to her bedroom, Danny seemed to go into attack mode like he did the first time they were together. He undressed Lacey faster than he ever did. Once she was fully naked, he just stood and watched her in all her glory as he slowly undressed himself. He undid his tie and unbuttoned his shirt while never breaking eye contact. Once he was as naked as she was, he climbed into the bed on top of her. He hungrily started to kiss her while he stuck his hands between her legs. He wanted to taste her so he lowered himself and doe his head between her legs and started to savor her most sensitive area. "Danny...Danny..." Her calling out his name really excited him and turned him on for her even more. She was more than ready for him. She really started to cry out for him. "Danny...please..." She started to beg because she wanted him inside of her. She felt his erection press up against her and soon, he was inside of her.
Danny started to thrust into her like his life depended on it. He was happy to be inside of her again and even happier that she forgave him and was back into his life. He never wanted to be without her again. Those last few days felt like the longest days of his life. He had no reason to mope anymore, because his life was back to normal. He thanked the woman he loves for coming back to him without words. The realization of him almost losing her forever and was too much for him to bear. "Lacey...Lacey..." Danny moaned to her because she felt that good to him. He couldn't get enough of her as he moved in and out of her for what felt like hours. Their bodies craved each other that bad.
They were so engrossed in each other that they didn't notice the dark figure standing over them.
Author's Note Again: Y'all know not to guess in your review, right? I've already gotten an eclipse of shade on this matter, so why not really give people something to talk about?
As far as the time line regarding the nullification of a marriage due to fraud, I looked it up and it says:
When fraud is alleged, the action must be brought within three years of the discovery of the fraud. It must be shown that the fraud would have deceived an ordinarily prudent person, and that the consent was given due to the fraud. If the party alleging fraud failed to act prudently, the annulment will be denied.
If the parties cohabit after the time of duress or force, or after the discovery of the fraud, no annulment will be given, as the marriage will be deemed ratified. In order to prevail in an annulment under DRL 7(4), the injured spouse must immediately cease cohabiting with the other party.
Now I know that this is just fanfiction, but I decided to add this just in case somebody tried to come for me. I know I didn't stick to the actual law, but who cares? Thank you for reading.
