I'm really sorry for the delay in publishing this chapter. Like some you will know, I started my last year in the University and I started a new job, which sometimes takes all my free time. But, don't worry it looks like now I am less busy so, I will try to update regularly my three fics.
Thanks to everyone who took some time to read the last chapter and let me a review. It is possible that you don't know it but, it is really important for my read your opinion. It not only help to write the next chapter but also it give encourage to continue doing. Like some of you will already know, English is not my first language, it is spanish and, it takes me so long to write the chapter and proofread it. Chapter 13: A long weekend in the lake (Saturday)
Matt was moving in his bed; he couldn't find a good posture to fall sleep and, the unbearable heat had part of the blame. The other part of the blame was the way in which his body reacted while Gabby was putting on him her sun block. Feeling her soft skin on his skin almost killed him, the temperature of his body increased really quickly. As a consequence, he had to enter in the water as soon as he could in order hide the effect that she had on him.
Tired, he got up and removed of his body the shirt that he was using, which was soaked with his sweat. That night was being one of the hottest nights of spring in the state of Illinois. He rested again his head against the pillow. At first, he felt better; it was a good idea that he took off his shirt but, some minutes later he was feeling again the same warm feeling. Knowing that in that way he couldn't sleep, he decided to get up and go to the living room with his mattress. Luckily, the temperature of the living room would be fresher than in his room.
He put the mattress on the floor really near to the big window that was on the front of the house. He approached to the window, opened and looked to the night sky which was star-filled. He came back to the mattress and lied down on it. Few seconds after he closed his eyes, he heard some steps coming from the hallway.
Few seconds after he closed his eyes, he heard some steps coming from the hallway. He looked to the door and saw that Gabby looked out from the door.
"Hi" he said
"Oh. Sorry" Gabby said ashamed "I didn't knew that you were here"
"Couldn't you sleep?" He asked getting up
"No. It is so hot"
"You can sleep here with me if you want" he said shyly giving some pats on the mattress
"No. Don't worry, I am going to drink a glass of water and come back to me room"
"No way young lady" he said, walked to her and grabbed her hand "You are going to lie down in that mattress with me"
"I am not sure if that it is a good idea"
"The mattress is big so, we can sleep together. And, we are adults" both of them were nervous about sleeping together
"Alright" she said smiling
Both friends lied down on the mattress facing to the other. In that moment, it was when Gabby noticed that he wasn't wearing a shirt; she could not realize it before since all the lights were off. She could see how his chest going up and down each time that he breathe.
"Good night Gabby"
"Good night Matt"
Gabby was the first one who fell asleep. Matt preferred to be awake a little bit longer thus, he could stare her while she was sleeping peacefully near to his side. He moved close to her and pressed his lips against her forehead "Sleep well"

The next morning, Gabby woke up feeling better after spending all the night sleeping and resting. She looked her watch and saw that it was half past eight. She rested her head against the pillow and heard the birds singing outside. She looked to her side hoping to watch Matt still asleep beside her; however, he wasn't there. It might be possible that during the night, he decided to come back to his room. She could not avoid feeling stupid; last night when he proposed to sleep together she hoped to wake up wrapped in his arms like the morning after he was discharged of the hospital. She never said a word but, she woke up before than him and stared him during some minutes; when he started to move she pretended to be asleep.
Five minutes later, she got up off the mattress and walked to his room to wake up him. They would have a long and fun day ahead. She looked from the door frame but, she didn't see him. Feeling worried about him, she went to the kitchen and to the bathroom but, he wasn't in anywhere.
"Where are you Matt?" Thinking that something bad could have happened to him, she ran to her bedroom, put on her sneakers and ran to the outside of the house.

Leslie Shay entered in the flat that her best friend and she were sharing, with a grin from ear to ear. Last night, she received a text from Gabby asking her if she wanted to go tomorrow to the cabin to pick up her and bring her back to the city.
"Hey" Kelly said from the couch "Why that smile? Did you have a good night with your hot date?"
"Of course. I can't believe that you doubt about it. I am smiling because tomorrow, I am going to go to the lake for having lunch with Gabby and Matt" she saw that his expression changed "I am sorry"
"Do not worry. Go, hang out with them and have fun" he wished that they asked him to go too but, it wasn't the case. He assumed that Matt was still angry with him.
"Come on; tell me why you have that face"
"I don't have any face"
"Of course that you have it Kelly Severide"
"I miss my friend"
"Don't worry. According to Gabby he is better. And, after some weeks in the lake, he will feel much better. He will come back soon to 51 and, everything will be like in the past" she rubbed his arms trying to comfort him
"No Shay" Kelly said with tears in his eyes "Matt is not going to come back to 51 never again. He hates me"
"But, you told me that you spend one night in his house and everything was perfect between the two of you"
"It was just one day. I guess that he miss our friendship. Besides, he was sick that day, I even doubt that he remember that I was there"

When Gabby was outside asking where she should go first to find him, she saw him. He was swimming in the lake. His body moved through the water without disturbing it. She stared him moving in perfect harmony with the water during a few minutes until he got out of the water. His muscular chest was completely wet and some drops were falling down his dirty blonde hair as well as from his torso.
"Gabby" he said, he did not wait to see her awake so early
"Hi" was all that she could say in that moment. Her scary and worries about that something bad happened to him went far away. He rubbed with his finger his eyes and saw that she was staring him with open mouth "Are you okay?" he asked concerned.
"Yes. I was worried about you" she said averting her eyes of his perfect body.
"Why?" he took of the goggle of his head
"Because I woke up and you wasn't in any where" she said trig to sound serious, however, she was glad that he was trying to change his routine. It was something positive.
"I am sorry. You were asleep and I didn't want to wake you up. You looked so peaceful" her cheeks turned red immediately
"Next time it will be better if you let me a note"
"Okay"
"Are you hungry? I can cook something"
"Yeah. I am starving" as his stomach made some noise making that both of them laughed.
"you should not have swum, if you had not had breakfast before"
"I was swimming just half an hour" he said in his defense
"By the way, you are great. Really good"
"Thanks. I was in the swimming club of my high school"
"Really?" she asked surprised
"yeah. What is strange about that?
"I always thought that in high school, you were something like a nerd. You know, always studying in the library and, really bad on sport"
"There are a lot of thing that you don't know about me, Gabriela Dawson"
"Are you inviting me to discover it?"
"Maybe" he joked and both entered in the house.
"I will be glad to know everything about you" she whispered when he went to his room to change his swimsuit for a sweatpants and a shirt

After they finished their breakfast, Gabby got dressed with her bikini and, a comfortable short and a tank top while Matt put on a dry swimsuit. Between both of them, they prepared some sandwiches and grabbed some bottles of water. Today, they were going to do hiking in one of the famous routes by which that lake was famous in Illinois. According to the landlord, there was a lookout on the top of a ravine that it was the perfect place for a beautiful picture.
They walked during two hours and, they made a stop for getting some rest. They were exhausted; however, the view was great and was worth the effort that they were doing.
"How are you Dawson?" he asked after gave a long drink of his bottle of water
"Great, and you?"
"not bad" he said smiling
"I think that the route continue into the water" she said pointing to the signals that define the way forward.
"Do you mean that we have to get our feet wet?"
"Yeah. Do you want to continue?" he was taking off his trainers
"Yeah. it is going to be fine" she took off hers too and both of them continue walking with their feet inside of the water.
"By the way" Gabby said smiling mischievously "enjoy the cold water Casey" and she pushed him to the water. He fall over his back into the cold water and emerged a few seconds later completely wet from his head to his feet.
"If I were you, I would run as fast I can" Matt warned her. She let her bag on the soil started to run with him behind her. Nevertheless, he was faster that her and caught her one minute later.
"Casey, you are wet" she said when he hugged her from her waist
"As well as you are going to be in a few seconds" he lifted her and carried her body on his right shoulder while she was trying to get free but, it was impossible. He walked to the bank of the river and jumped to the water with still carrying her.
They stayed under water looking to each other, like if they were trying to determine what to do next. Gabby was the first one to come back to the surface because of the need of oxygen. Some seconds later, he did the same.
"Are you happy?" she asked and splashed him with water
"Yeah" she pushed him under the water and started to swim to the bank.
"You are dead" he joked and swam after her. When he was on her side, he grabbed her and pressed her body against his. "You are going to pay the consequences of doing what you did" their bodies were making contact into the water in which they had never being before. The water was making that they were closer every second. He couldn't speak or think. His mind was thinking about how perfect would be to caress her body in that moment. The tension was killing him.
"Matt" Gabby said. Matt didn't say anything he just crept near to her and placed his hands in her waist, putting her tighter to his own body. Matt hand travelled to her breast and dared to touch it making that Gabby bit her lips avoiding a moaning. He went to placed his lips against her when a noise made they moved away one to each other.
The noise was made by a small animal that moved inside of a bush. Matt looked to Gabby and could see that her eyes were expressing shame of letting that he touched him in that way and, disappointment.
"Gabby" he said swimming to her "I am sorry, I should not have do that"
"No Matt. It doesn't matter" She turned away, and some tears fell down her cheeks. She felt stupid for feeling in that way, while she was between his arms. He made that she feel special but, she felt rejected when he moved away of her.
"Gabby" he put a hand in her shoulder and turned her face. He could see that she was crying "Gabby" he said again
"Why Matt?" she said crying "why one seconds you make me to feel special and the next one you reject"
"Gabby"
"Stop of saying Gabby" she walked out of river grabbed her stuff and walked away of him running as fast as she could.
It took Matt a few seconds to understand what was happening. He screwed up again like in the Christmas party. He walked out of the lake, took his stuff and tried to find her.
"Gabby" he called out but, she didn't respond.

Three hours later, Matt entered in the cabin. He has been trying to find Gabby during all the afternoon but, it was like if she has disappeared. Now, it was darker and, he was worried that something bad could have happened to her. Thus, he decided to come back to cabin, drive to the town and speak with the police. When he opened the door, he saw that she was finishing of packing her stuff.
"Gabby" he let out a breath "Where was you? I tried to find you"
"I am leaving Matt, I can continue here with you. I hope that you find whatever that you are trying to find here" she was trying not to break down into cries in front of him.
"Gabby" he placed his hands in her shoulder "Why? It is because of what happened in the river? I am sorry"
"I am sorry too. I am going to call my brother" she tried to walk away of him but, he stopped her
"Can you please wait a second and speak with me for one minute?"
"I can't Matt. One moment, you made me feel like if I was special but, the next one you reject me. It is always the same and, I can't continue like this"
"I think that you need a cold shower to take the wind out of your sails" he walked to her and lifted her like he did in the river
"Matt, let me go"
"No" he said walking to the lake. When they were at the end of the dock, Matt threw her into the water.
"Matt" she shouted some seconds before that they entered in the water. "I hate you" she said when she emerged of the water
"Are you relaxed?" he asked kneeling on the dock
"Why did you throw me into the water? It is really cold" she said crying rubbing her arms.
Matt got up, took off his shirt and jumped to the water near to her. He got closer to her and hugged her.
"It is freezing. I want to get out"
"No, we have to speak about what happened before"
"I don't want to speak"
"Good. I will be the one who spoke and, you the one who listen" knowing that it was the only way in which she could get out of the freeze water, she nodded "I said you sorry because I should not have done what I did to you. If you feel special when you are with me, it is because for me you're a special person. Someone, who does not deserve to be treated like a one-night stand" surprised by his words she rise her head and looked to him trying to determine if he was saying the truth.
"Matt"
"don't say nothing, just listen to me" she nodded and he continued speaking "When we were in the lake this morning and, I was caressing your breast, I moved away when I heard the noise because I realized that you deserve something better. You didn't deserve to be treated like that for me. You deserve to be treated with respect. And, I want to do it right. I have to say that I don't know what is happening and, it is scaring me. In the last couple of days you are driving me crazy each time that you smile me or touch me with you soft skin" at that point of his speech Gabby had tears in her hazel eyes "I don't know what is going to happen in the future but, right now the only thing that I can say you is that I want to face it with you on my side. You are really important for me Gabriela Dawson and, I want to see how far we can go in that because, it is something special, something worth to do it right. You make me feel like anyone never in my life makes me feel before"
Gabby looked him without knowing what to say. He opened his heart to her confessing his feelings. He wants to try to have a relationship with her and above of all; he wants to be more than friends with benefits. She opened her mouth a few times but, she closed it again. She wanted to express her feeling too but, how? Her mouth wasn't saying what her mind was shouting her to say.
Finally, she was able to move again thus, she got closer to him, placed her hands behind his neck and slowly her lips met his in a tender kiss. Matt didn't wait this kind of answer by her so; he was shocked when he felt her soft lips against his. Some seconds later, he moved his hands to her waist and pulled her body more closely to his. He wanted to feel her. Both of them were embracing while they were sharing their first kiss. A minute later, he moved away breathing heavy, looked her to her eyes and watched that she wanted the same; she wants to know how far they can go in their new relationship.
She wrapped her legs around his waist and he moved his hands from her waist to her lower back. She moved her head to one side and, Matt took the opportunity to give small kisses around her collarbone and neck. With each kiss, she could feel the electricity that both bodies were generating with each caresses and kiss. He moved his mouth and kissed her again in her pink lips. Their tongues fought for the control of the kiss while their hands were exploding the body of other.
A moan escaped of her lips and, it encouraged Matt of continuing kissing her. Gabby hands travelled to his toned chest; this time he was the one who moaned under her touches. Gabby broke the kiss because of the need of oxygen and looked him. He was smiling and, she could say that he was a little ashamed. He was ashamed because he couldn't control his own body. She could feel his hard member against her body. Luckily for him, the water and the dark night was giving them some intimacy.
Her hands travelled to his swimsuit. Follow her lead, Matt caressed her breast. Gabby felt again the electricity through her body; she placed Matt's body tighter. Matt started to nibble her neck owing to the pleasure that she was giving him.
"I think that we should slow down" he confessed when he felt Gabby's hand inside of his swimsuit.
"Okay"
"I mean what I said before, I want to do it right"
She gave him one last kiss in his lips before swam to the dock. He lifted her and she stayed stand up waiting that he lifted himself.
In that moment, a cool breeze made that her body started to shake. She rubbed her arm trying to keep warm. He approached to her and helped her to get out of her wet clothes.
"Are you undressing me, Casey?" She joked when she got out of her shorts and shirt leaving her dressed in her underwear.
"Yeah" he said smiling. He took his shirt, which was dry, and gave it to her "put it on"
"Thanks" wearing his shirt and Matt holding her wet clothes, they came back to cabin.
"Wait here. I will bring you a towel" he entered in the house and returned some seconds later with a towel for her.
"Thanks but, what about you?" she asked since he just bring one towel
"We can share it"
"You know, it not fair that I am the only dressed only with my underwear" she helped him to take off his swimsuit and put the towel around both of their bodies. Trying to keep the warm of their bodies Matt placed her body closer to his; their chests were touching. Like before, their lips met slowly while their hands were again exploding their bodies. The only different was that time there wasn't any shyness. Matt took the towel and placed it on the floor together with her shirt. Gabby's hand traveled to her bra but, he stopped her, a sign that he didn't want to rush things. She smiled and nodded.
"Are you okay?" he asked rubbing her arms
"Yeah" she smiled and they went to the living room where they sat in front of a fireplace that Matt lit. They were still wearing their wet underwear; they didn't want to walk away of each other thinking that maybe it could break the magic moment that they were sharing. He placed his arm in her shoulder and put her closer to him; she rested her head in his shoulder. Exhausted but at the same time happy of being able to lift a weight off after confessing their feeling, they closed their eyes and fall asleep together in the arms of the other.
