Author's Note: Hello everyone. This update took longer than it should have because I was suffering from a serious case of feels concerning this story. I hate to do this, but this is the beginning of the end. I no longer feel about this story the way that I used to and that frustrates me and makes me sad. This Danny and Lacey meant a lot to me, and so did this story. That little fiasco with the guessing and the reviews did a lot of damage. I had such high hopes for this fic, and now I feel like it has been tainted. The hate, shade, and the slaps to the face I have received over this story is quite ridiculous.
I know some say that it's "just a story," It is, but it's also my feelings and thoughts put out for you guys to read. As most of you can see, I write from my heart and with a lot of passion. So for someone to say that it's just a story, is quite insulting. Would you tell Toni Morrison that Beloved is just a book? I'm no Toni Morrison (Now watch one of my haters or shade masters takes this and runs with it. I already got compared to thinking I was Oprah, so this should give them something to discuss) or even a professional writer, but I desired to be one. Writing isn't as easy as some may think. My Humanities professor in college told me that I was a brilliant writer but I didn't have the stomach to become a professional one. That stung. I still wonder if she was right.
I feel that it be best for me to end this story and send this version of Dacey off into the sunset. My heart just isn't in this story anymore. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. It's a shame that I, as well as you all, got robbed of seeing the complete vision I had for this story come to fruition the way that I planned. Maybe I'll take what I was going to do here, and put it in either Feathers and Lacey or Cupid's Joke. The only good thing about what went on with this story being ruined is that it didn't ruin my Dacey feels completely. I have a lot of feels for Feathers and Lace and Cupid's Joke. Maybe I shouldn't have said that. They might come for me again.

"Oh, I just came by to see the woman I still love to see if I could get her back. But I see you two got back together." Archie says bitterly.
"How did you get in here, Archie? You gave me my key back." Lacey wonders.
"I made a copy a long time ago just in case I lost it. It really came in handy." Archie sneered.
"What makes you think you had the right to make a copy of my key and then use it without my permission? How in the hell did you even know that Danny and I were apart?" Lacey asks in utter disgust. Danny still hasn't said a word, but he's still observing though.
"Because I still love you, Lacey. I've been in here more times than you realized. I thought we could get back together since you broke up with Danny because you found out he was married, but I guess not. I see that you really are the slut that I thought you were." Archie says in an extremely nasty tone.
Danny shook his head and chuckled at the ridiculous situation he was now in. He couldn't believe this asshole was back, that he admitted to coming into her house, and he had the balls to call Lacey a slut in front of him. He surprised Lacey and Archie as he lunged from the bed and immediately crashed into Archie. They struggled for a moment as Lacey watched in horror as Danny and Archie battled like lions in the wild. Danny was again getting the best of Archie when he grabbed him by the hair and pounded his head into the floor until he passed out.
She looked at Danny in horror as Archie laid lifeless on the floor. "He isn't dead is he?" Lacey asked in worry. Despite her hating him immensely, she didn't want him to die and she definitely didn't want Danny to go to jail. She couldn't believe Archie was in her house and that he stood there and watched her and Danny have sex.
"No, but he's out. What the fuck is he doing here?" Danny asked as she started to get dressed. Lacey put on clothes as well.
"I have no clue. I got my key back from him when we broke up. I had no idea he made a copy and actually came in here. How could he just stand there and watch us like that?" Lacey asks as she slips her shirt over her head. "What do we do? Should we call the police? I don't want you to get into any trouble." Lacey asks Danny as she looks at the unmoving Archie. She has no idea what to do in this situation.
"Yes. Call the police. He pretty much broke in here. If you don't call them, I really am going to kill him. I'll keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't move while you wait for them." Danny says.
"Ok." Lacey says as she grabs her phone and dials 911 as she heads for the stairs. The emergency dispatcher came on immediately and Lacey explained the situation. "Yes, I need the police to 2511 Barclay Way. I had an intruder but he attacked my boyfriend and now he's unconscious." Lacey says as she's finally in her living room and sits on her sofa. She sees the forgotten court papers and goes to pick them up. She really can't believe what just went on in her house. Archie coming into her place with the copy of the key she took back from him. She wondered just how often he came into her house. He mentioned her breaking up with Danny since she found out he was married, so he must have been in there recently. She had no idea. The White officer spoke.
"Hello, officers. He's upstairs." Lacey says as she points towards the stairs and the officers walk quickly up them. She returns to sitting on the sofa. Cricket comes out and jumps on the sofa next to Lacey and slowly crawled into her lap. Lacey was relieved to see that Archie hadn't done anything to hurt her. Minutes later, Danny comes down the stairs and sits next to her and grabs her hand. "What did they say?" Lacey asks.
"That they would take it from there and for me to wait so that they could get my statement. I still can't believe that asshole came in here." Danny replies.
"Me neither. He said he's been in here more times than I realized. That really scares me, Danny." Lacey replies in a worried expression.
"I know. I'm just glad I was here with you. Who knows what he could have done to you. You're moving in with me." Danny says in a serious tone.
She just looks at him. "Is that your way of asking me to move in with you?" Lacey asks.
"No. That's my way of telling you that you're moving in. I'm not taking any chances. You mean too much to me." Danny says.
"But what about the house? What about the kitten? What about all of my stuff?" Lacey asks.
"We'll figure all of that out. Until then you're either staying with me or I'm staying here. We'll still have the locks changed because Archie is seriously fucked up and he might try this again." Danny responds. Soon after, the officers come down the stairs with Archie who looks completely out of it, but he's alive and walking and he's handcuffed.. They take him out and put him in the squad car and one of the officers comes back in.
"What are your names? Can you tell us exactly what happened here?" The officer asks as he pulls out his pad and a pen.

"Nope. She was actually on your side and told me I was overreacting. She understood why you didn't tell me. I was mad at her for being on your side. I tried to put her out of my house. She was ready to come over to your place and fight when she thought the worst like I did. That is until my mom talked us down." Lacey answers.
"Good. I don't ever want to get on Clara's bad side. I love her like my little sister, but she's a pit bull in a dress." Danny jokes.
Lacey laughs. "She is. She's loyal and will go to bat for you and protect you if cares about you. But if you cross her, she will bite and never let go. I know she will always have my back and never betray me. I love that about her." Lacey admits.
"I do too. I love how close you and your sister are. Now I have a sister." Danny says and then smiles.
"My mom really made me admire her even more because she picked herself up and dusted herself off after her marriage to my father ended. I know how hurt and devastated she was so her telling me to forgive you and work things out made me see her in a different light. She's my hero." Lacey says then adds, "Your mom too. She went on with her life after what your father did. She isn't bitter or hostile. I hope to be like them one day."
"I'm happy to hear you say that. I love that you and my mom get along so well. She hated Regina even before she found out the truth. You two are the most important people in the world to me." Danny says as he reaches over to rub her cheek and smiles. "So, what's on the agenda today? And where are we taking everyone for dinner?" Danny asks quizzically.
"Well, I'm getting the locks changed first. Then I have to go to the grocery store. I wanted us to cook dinner for everyone together. We can celebrate on the rooftop deck. Is that ok with you?" Lacey wonders.

"I'm glad to see you're happy." Deirdre retorts sincerely. "It was nice meeting you. Lacey. You guys take care." She says and then walks off.
"So, you told your friend about me?" Lacey asks in a playful manner.
"Yeah. I told her how I wanted you but things were complicated. She suggested I tell you how I felt." Danny tells a little white lie. Lacey doesn't need to know that he asked her to pretend to be her before they got together. The past is in the past.
After they finished their grocery shopping, the went to purchase wine and alcohol for their guest. They were really trying to make their guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Lacey stopped past her house to get suitable attire for the evening and to check on Cricket. She found her curled into a ball on the sofa sleeping peacefully. That little ball of fur made her happy.
She then went to Danny's condo with him where they relaxed and fooled around for a bit before they had to start cooking and getting ready for their party. They called themselves making up for lost time again. They really weren't even broken up that long, but it felt like a long time to both of them. The closeness they shared and the forming of their relationship really sealed the deal of them being a couple. After years of hating each other, when they took that plunge, they both fell hard.
A few hours later, Lacey and Danny showered together and dressed for their small dinner party. Neither was going to get dressed up too fancy because the party was just for close family and Rico. Danny dressed in a white Henley and dark blue jeans. Lacey inadvertently matched him with her navy blue and white striped dress that was fitted at the top and flared at the waist. It stopped just below her knee and she paired it with navy blue wedge heels. She looked really cute and domestic with the apron that she put on.
Danny and Lacey got into their groove of cooking together as they waited for their guest to arrive. Karen got there first and was happy to see Danny and Lacey back together. She really liked Lacey and liked him for her son. She no longer had to be upset about his con artist wife messing up things again for him, thanks to her sister in law Tara.
Rico got there next and he too was happy to see Danny and Lacey back together He knew how much Danny cared about her and loved her, so he was happy to see his friend back with he woman that he loved. Judy and Clara arrived moments after Rico. Judy of course came in with a homemade peach cobbler. She couldn't resist, even though Lacey told her not to bring anything. Clara came in and was impressed with Danny's place. She loved how the elevator just opened up right into his living room. She was happy to see her sister happy again.
Danny walked over to get the dish from Judy and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "It's good to see you again, Judy." Danny says.
"Likewise." Judy says happily and gives Lacey a hug.
Clara walked over to Lacey and gave her a big hug. "I'm glad to see you and Danny back together, Sister." She says as she hugs Lacey.
"Thank you Sister. I'm glad too. Let me introduce you to Karen and Rico." She says as she breaks apart from their hug and takes her hand. "Rico, Karen. This is my sister, Clara and my mother Judy." She says happily.
Karen gives Judy and Clara hugs. Rico stands to greet them and is a little fixated on Clara. He becomes a little nervous. Clara just smiles at him. She can't help but think that he's adorably awkward. Rico pulls Danny aside.
"Is Clara single?" Rico asks in a semi embarrassed tone.
Danny chuckles. "I think so, but I can find out for sure if she is."
"Good. But don't tell her that I asked." Rico says.
Danny chuckles again at Rico's demeanor. He pats him on the shoulder. "I won't." Danny says.
Clara kind of did the same thing with Lacey. "Who's the guy? Did you deliberately try to set me up with someone?" She asks.
Lacey giggles. "He's Danny's lawyer and friend that I told you about. I didn't have setting you two up on my mind at all. He just helped me see the truth like you and mom did. That's why he's here. Why, do you want to be set up?" Lacey asks in an animated tone.
Clara looks over at Rico again. He's pretty cute with his semi curly hair and beard. "Maybe." Clara says and winks at Lacey.
"I'll be right back." Lacey says as she walks over to Danny and Rico. "Can I borrow him for a second, Rico?" Lacey asks politely.
"Sure." Rico answers.
Lacey grabs Danny by the arm and pulls him into the bathroom. "Is Rico single?" Lacey asks.
Danny laughs. "He is. He asked me if Clara was, but he didn't want me to let her know he asked." Danny says.
"How do you feel about my sister getting with your friend?" Lacey wonders.
"I feel good about it. Rico is awesome. I think he and Clara could balance each other out." Danny replies.
Lacey grins and pulls him close to kiss him. She puts her arms around his neck as he puts his around her waist and rests them on the small of her back. "Did we really just play matchmaker?" Lacey asks.
"Close, but not quite. I'm sure they'll hit it off though." Danny says with a grin.
Lacey was really in her feels because she was thinking of doing something she never thought she would do. She hesitated for a moment, and then got the balls to do what she was feeling. She looked up at Danny and realized that she indeed loved him and wanted to spend her life with him. "Danny, will you marry me?" Lacey asks.
Danny looked at her in shock. He never expected her to ask him something like that. He stared into her eyes. "I'm supposed to ask you." Danny says with a grin.
Lacey grins too. "I couldn't help myself." Lacey says as she giggles.
Danny placed a kiss to her lips. "Lacey, will you marry me?" Danny asks.
"Yes. But you have to get me a ring." Lacey says as she kisses him this time.
