Chapter 1: Prologue
AN: I know I should work on the other fics, but this was bouncing around in my head for so long… This is another of those usual SW time travel fics, except this time it's slightly different. Based on the title I don't need to explain. Oddly enough, this a sort of sequel to Different Times, though you don't really need to read it. If you don't there will only be a few things you may not understand. Besides, this will explain it in the fic in later chapters. I chose the light side ending BTW even though the Agent was a darkside character. This was written on a phone. Enjoy!
PS: I have only completed the IA, Sith Warrior, and Smuggler storyline but know parts of Trooper storylines. Just a note. Sorry?
PPS: Hulac is the IA, Vladislav is the Trooper, Fenyx is the Smuggler.
PPPS: This takes place after the whole Nathama Conspiracy thing. I was making sure not to see spoilers of any sort so I actually wasn't expecting what happened. Needless to say, I was FAR from pleased…
PPPPS: So there is a lot that I changed lore wise following the Nathama Conspiracy. Firstly, the EA never allied with either, choosing to remain neutral. Second, the Eternal Fleet and Gravestone were never destroyed. Yeah, just for the storys sake. Sorry if it angers anyone...
Final Note: Armor: Hulac: Aftermarket Targeters Armor MK-2, though where the Empire symbol would be has the Eternal Alliance symbol replacing it.
Vladislav: Alliance Recon Armor, minus the helmet.
Fenyx: Sly Operators Armor, Minus the helmet, dyed dark red and black
It was another (relatively) peaceful day in the Eternal Alliance base on Odessen. Everything was functioning normally and conflict was at an all time low. Of course, this was partially due to the fact that it was evening and most were retiring to barracks. Even though it had been a few years since the Order of Zildrog had fallen and the Eternal Alliance had chosen to remain neutral, they still aided planets that had faced major damage in all the conflicts that had taken place, be them Republic or Empire. It had been a tough few years, but they had emerged victorious against any foe that challenged them.
The Eternal Alliance, led by Commander Hulac Raginis, ex Cyper Agent of Imperial Intelligence, had become the superpower of the galaxy, though they stayed clear of the war between the Republic and Empire. His innermost circle of command included his two most trusted advisers, Theron Shan and Lana Beniko, as well as his two brothers, Fenyx and Vladislav. Currently they were in the planning room going over reports.
Lana handed Hulac a datapad. On it was a list of the planets that needed aid and those that had finally finished rebuilding. Fenyx yawned, not to happy with his current location. He wanted to be out doing anything but reports and papers. Noticing the state his brother was in, Hulac called the 'meeting' to a close. To be honest, most of the rooms occupants had lost focus on the tasks long ago. They split to go to their respective quarters.
Each of the officer quarters bunked two people. There were three in the section of the base they occupied. The Alliance Advisors had their own little section. Hulac shared with Theron and Vladislav and Fenyx. Lana got her own. The door slid open with a swish as the Commander approached. He sighed and collapsed on his bed. It had been a long day and the lack of sleep didn't help. Even with Valkorian dead, nightmares still plagued him. That was partially the reason he bunked with Theron, the ex SIS Agent being one of the few who could pull him out of it. Well, that and that they were unofficially married. Theron had proposed but they hadn't got around to a wedding or the like. There was just so much to do.
"You alright? You look like someone just ran you over with a speeder."
"Feels like it." His reply was muffled by the pillow he had faceplanted.
"I see. Well, long day tomorrow. Get some rest." Hulac rolled off the bunk as Theron said this. He made his way to one of the grey metal dressers that was in the scarcely decorated room. He opened the bottom drawer to find a pair of grey sweatpants and a knitted red sweater that had the words 'Spyboy #1' in grey lettering. Theron had a matching one except the number was 2 instead of 1. They had been given to them as a Life Day gift from Fenyx. He had them custom ordered from a seamstress in the Alliance who was all too happy to comply. Even Lana had gotten one with the words 'Scary Sith Advisor'. Needless to say, she was not pleased and had made that known. They had found Fenyx in the medbay afterwards.
"I can't believe that you wear that, even just to sleep in." Theron commented as Hulac pulled on the sleepwear.
"Eh, why not? I'm certainly not wearing it in public. Besides, you four are the only ones to know of its existence. It's actually comfortable." He shrugged.
"Sure. Good night."
"Likewise." He replied as they retired for the night. Of course, it was far from peaceful.
Hulac stood on Odessen. Battle raged around him. Red and blue lasers flew by. He turned to each side to see the combatants. What was revealed shocked him. Republic Clones and Separatist droids fought fiercely. While this shocked him, it wasn't the most surprising. What surprised him the most was who stood with the Clone Troopers. Alliance members fired at the oncoming horde. He stared in shock. What was going on? Why were Alliance members there? Last time he was stuck there; nobody knew of the Alliance. Of course, last time he'd still been part of the Imp. Intel. When he was there. Had it been refounded? Had it been in the shadows the whole time? If it was the second, why would that be? They would have ended the war as soon as it started with use of their fleet and army. So many questions.
He turned as he was surrounded by a good number of the enemy. He was cut off. He turned back to look at his forces, led by his friends. He scanned the battlefield. He locked eyes with Theron and called out for aid. He moved forward, followed by a squad of their men. Too late. The droids fired.
"Hulac!"
Said person shot straight up, sweating and trying calm his racing heart. His roommate had one hand on his shoulder, looking at him concerned. "Nightmare again?" At Hulac's breathless nod he continued, "What was it? You called my name."
"Nothing… Just a dream…" he muttered. Theron wasn't convinced but knew that he wouldn't get any answers out of him so he dropped the subject. He'd ask again in the morning when they both were rested.
"Okay. I assume you'll be fine now?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine." He replied as he laid back down and rolled over. Taking the hint, the man left him alone and fell once more asleep. Hulac wasn't fine and he'd find out what was bothering his boyfriend.
The next morning
Both woke up around the same time and prepared for the day. They had decided to reconvene in the morning, so they returned to the planning room. None of them seemed particularly rested. A look of unease was on Lana's face.
"Lana, is everything okay? You look concerned." The Commander asked his friend and advisor.
"The force… It's, how do I put this, It's like it's in turmoil. I can't make sense of it. Something big is going to happen, that I know." She said in a worried tone. The sense of unease spread to the non-force users.
"Well, that's not good." Fenyx stated. His usual joking attitude was gone, a serious one taking its place. Vladislav shot him a glare, as if to state 'obviously'. He saw it and shrugged. Hulac had a sinking feeling. That feeling must've something to do with the nightmare. After all, said dreams seemed to constantly be prophetic or something of the sort. It was frustrating to put it lightly.
'I think I may know why." He started.
They looked startled. Lana raised an eyebrow, "How?"
"I had one of the nightmares. Like the ones I got when Valkorian was in my head." Here he looked at his older brother, "It was about that other time."
Getting what he meant, the Trooper looked shocked. "What do you mean? We left that behind. Getting back is impossible. I don't think even the force is capable of that."
"I have a feeling there's something you're not saying." Fenyx broke in. He had no idea what they were referencing, and they were his brothers! The two shared a look.
"it's… a long story…" Vladislav answered the red-haired Smuggler.
"We have time." The youngest of the three said. He leaned back, a stubborn expression crossing his face. The two gave sigh before turning to the others.
"Well, it started like this…" Vladislav began. They explained everything that had happened. When they finished, there was a stunned silence.
"Time travel."
"Yes."
It took them a minute to digest the information.
"So you think that this may happen again soon. That we might be thrown forward in time."
"Yes."
"Well, how can we prepare for it?"
"All I know is that we won't know until it happens."
"Wonderful."
"Exactly." And with that they went about the torture of paperwork. It had been about an hour in when it happened. Lana stumbled as she felt a large disturbance in the force. She wasn't the only one. It was felt by all force users in the base. Even those who weren't near Odessen or part of the Eternal Alliance felt it. And just like that, it ended.
Clone Wars Era, The Negotiator, six months after the events of Different Times
Obi-Wan sighed as he spoke with his old padawan. They were discussing the recent events that had brought them to their current whereabouts. Separatist forces had been attacking supply runs near Wild space. Uncharted territory. The idea was that they must be hiding somewhere in that uncharted area, but, as of that moment, nothing had been found. Nothing but space. Until, now. A wave rushed through the force so that the Jedi had to steady himself. He was on the bridge at the moment.
"General! Reports coming in that a planet just… appeared on scanners. It was empty before and now it's here. It doesn't add up!" One of the Clones reported, not looking up from his station. The planet engulfed most of their view. That wasn't what was the most alarming. That award belonged to the massive fleet that came with it. Alarms sounded. Clones rushed to their stations, ready in case of an attack. Luckily, this was unessasarcy. The ships just stayed in their position.
"General, a transmission on all frequencies is coming through."
"Put it on." He nodded. A blue holographic image appeared and the Jedi did a double take. Standing before him was someone he never expected to see again. It was the agent he'd met six months ago. He looked older.
"People of the galaxy. Let it be known that the Eternal Alliance has returned." He said. The message played on repeat.
"Things just got a lot more complicated." Commander Cody whistled.
"Without a doubt, Commander. Without a doubt."
