🌸花吐き病🌸

What is Hanahaki disease?

Hanahaki is a fictitious disease where the patient vomits or coughs up flower petals because of a one-sided love or rather an unrequited love.

It comes from the Japanese words:

Hanna (花): Flower

Hakimasu (吐 き ま す): Vomit

Symptoms:

🌸Intense chest and throat pain.

🌸Intense cough accompanied by vomiting of flower petals.

🌸Shortness of breath, burning when breathing, in some cases labored breathing or suffocation.

🌸Fever.

Symptoms can vary from person to person.

As well as the time it takes to present itself can vary.

Some people can take up to a year to file, others usually file in a matter of months or weeks.

And in its most serious cases... days before death.

In itself, the disease produces a very strong anguish in the patient, causing flowers to appear in the lungs of the victim.

They also grow roots in the respiratory system and even in the worst cases, they can grow in the heart.

These roots and flowers grow and become a big problem since they obstruct and cause perforations in the respiratory tract... making the main characteristic of this disease that the patient coughs up and vomits bloody petals.

Some victims even drown.

Is there a cure?

There are only two proven ways to "cure" this disease:

The first is through surgery to remove all the roots, flowers and stems, but this has some side effects:

The most serious effect is that with the withdrawal of the roots and flowers, the feelings of the person are withdrawn...

In some cases, the patient will no longer feel or love as before, it all depends on the person.

And the second cure is that the love is reciprocated but in the most sincere and pure way possible... although many times this is an impossible solution to carry out.

Although, a new "cure" for this is currently being experimented with, which consists of a method called "Zero Contact".

The color of the petals that are vomited is also very different between patients... since they acquire a characteristic color that reminds them of the loved one.

Like the type of petal, it is also different between patients, making the most common sakura and rose petals.

The more love you have for that person... the more painful the disease will be.
