Chapter 23
Edward Prov
It's been months since, she slammed the car door in my face. I still can't get that image out of my head. I could tell I hurt her badly. I don't know how I could've been so selfish. I wanted to chase after her but I don't deserve her after that. I have no excuse for the way I been acting towards her. She already moved out of the town house the next day. Her things were already packed up and gone. There was no reason for me to stay in the States anymore. I had no other choice but to move on, and that's what I did. When I got home my parents were very understanding of my situation.
I've spent most my time with Nick, and Michael. Those two setting me up on blind dates, going out to the club. All the girls were very beautiful but none of them were Bella... I need to get Bella out of my head now! She's gone, she's moved on and now I need to. Right now Michael, Nick and I are sitting at a table with three other girls. Nick's two week girlfriend Sofia, Micheal's nine month girl friend Anna. Tonight Nick and Michael set me up with a girl Lauren. Lauren was pretty, with golden curly hair. Pale skin, and green eyes. I tried to make best conversation with her. I asked her the 'get to know you questions' It was just simply the same girly answers with a flirtatious giggle at the end. She finally went to the bathroom and left. I sighed bored.
"Edward dude, this is your like forty fifth blind date in the past three months." Nick drew my away from my thoughts. "She's hot, why don't you take her to your palace already," He winked at me. I could tell he was already ditsy.
"Nick you're drunk," I replied.
"Listen Edward," He put on a serious face and looked at me. "You need to let loosen up a bit. Stop being so uptight. You always say you have duties and have to be perfect, and now this is your only chance you can live a single life. Where you can screw up, learn from your mistakes, be wild, have fun. Because before you know it you will have to take on the duties of the throne. Live in the now." I starred at him. For once in my life I was actually speechless. "Oh yeah, I can be deep," He added. "Hey sexy," He went off with Sofia on to the dance floor.
"Edward Nick is right. When are you ever going to get another chance to be close to a normal single life. We know you still love Bella," I wanted to interrupt him but he held his hand up stopping me and continued. "We just want you to have a normal fun life,"
"Michael lets be honest. Our lives will never be normal." I smiled a little at him.
"It is now and you're wasting it by not noticing it exists." He got up and left me at the table alone. I sighed and waited for Lauren to come back. She smiled walking towards the table. Lauren and I talked for a while. I just kept a conversation until Nick finally came back so we can go. Nick came back almost falling on top of the table.
"Man Edward! We need to go on another vacation again and have your dad pay for another all female crew!" His eyes were half closed and I can tell he was blurting things out but this was no lie he just said. I looked at him with a range of anger that came over me. My dad! I should've guessed from the start!
"Let's dance!" Lauren caught my mood and pulled me to the dance floor. To be fair to her I danced with her for a while. I showed her some swing dances my mother taught me when I was a kid. I held her close to me. I of course bought her a couple drinks. Then she returned the favor. Once I dropped off Lauren at her house I kissed her cheek good night. She blushed and thanked me for the wonderful night, then went inside. I got back into the car and drove home with Michael. I slowly parked the car in the garage. We sat there reflecting on the night.
"What else has dad done behind my back?" I turned to him.
"I'm guessing you found out about the ship crew thing,"
"They always say secrets come out when they are drunk." Michael nodded.
"Dad... Planned many events for you to attend in America so you would supposedly get the feel of 'duties' but the real reason was for you to be away from Bella. Hoping you would lose feelings for her." My hand tightened on the steering wheel. I pursed my lips together trying to calm myself down. "I'll race you to the living room!" He quickly got out and ran for it. I laughed a little getting out chasing after him. I quickly came behind him and got him in an arm lock messing up his hair. "Not fair!" We pushed and shoved each other laughing into the main entrance.
"Boys break it up!" Mother yelled pushing us apart.
"Edward! Michael! You two are suppose to act like Men! Grow up!" My father's voice caught my attention making me immediately stop laughing.
"Grow up father? Why don't you grow up!" I turned facing him.
"I beg your pardon!" He argued.
"Michael let's go give your father and brother some privacy," Mother and Michael dashed out of the room. As soon as they left tension filled the room.
"You're idea for the all female crew, really father?" I stepped towards him.
"You're always saying how you want a break and some fun. Plus I thought with all that traveling it would be nice to have a bachelor vacation."
"Did you even ask Bella if she was comfortable with it?"
"Oh please Edward, It's your guys' vacation and having other guys as the staff totally defeats the purpose of a bachelor get away,"
"If you didn't know dad I wasn't a bachelor! I was in love. I was a boyfriend to a beautiful women." I raised my voice. "And just when I thought you couldn't get any lower, you sending me off to events I didn't even have to attend! Just to keep me away from her!"
"Son-"
"Don't call me that!"
"Listen to me Edward! You needed to grow up and know what it's like to have those responsibilities. It was a college romance, it needed to end. She would've distracted you even more then she has."
"You can't control my life! I love her more then my life, you took that from me. I was a total ass to her because I thought she was the trying to control my life when really it was you all along. It's all your fault!"
"Son I just wanted your future to the the way we planned it."
"You can't always think about the future. Live in the now dad. But now I have to go fix the past!" I walked past him storming out. I grabbed my cell phone out and dialed her number as fast as I could. I'm sorry the number you have reached is out of service. I threw my phone across the room. I had to contact her before I left for the "Smile" training program. I thought of it. I grabbed a pen and a piece of paper.
My Dear Bella,
No words can tell you how truly sorry I am. I know what an asshole jerk I was. I know I treated you badly, and I was never there for you. I love you, I never stopped loving you. The night you slammed the car door in my face, everything was over for me. I lost you. And I never want to do that again. I need you in my life...
I'm only asking for 14 reviews this time! Hope you enjoyed!
