POVs used in this chapter: Dirk Strider
Your name is Dirk Strider, and you are observing one of the most interesting games you're allies have come up with yet. Now, picture this if you will: eight kids, four of which are from the illustrious Felt group, trying to climb an unstable stack of chairs to reach a cake that could topple off at any moment just for the sake of easing their boredom…you see a lot of problems with this plan. Oh, and it was also a Boys versus Girls tag-team game, with specific members at different heights waiting for one of their corresponding members to climb up and tag them. Seven-year-olds, as you can probably tell, love to make things more challenging.
Naturally, your Bro (who was supposed to be babysitting you) had allowed the game to go on. While your brother could probably handle an emergency if needed, you were not sure if he'd make it worse by instinctively bringing out his swords. His methods of "assistance" were often ranging from that of the "Anime Hero Protagonist" to the "Beginner, Klutzy Anime Hero Protagonist" depending on the day. It was a miracle that Mr. Egbert would allow Bro anywhere near John, Jane, or Feferi.
However, luckily you weren't the only one with a brain, as Jane had kindly refused the offer to play and was waiting with her father's cellphone. Since "911" was basically implanted into the contact list of said phone (John has had many accidents in his life, and it's a wonder that he's still completely motivated to do the dangerous and improbable), you were opted not to worry as much about your brother, Dave, as he was quickly catching up to Roxy without too much hassle from Rose and Jade. Calliope and Feferi were currently using their creative talents to build a net for anyone that accidentally fell.
Now, this capture device was no simple butterfly net. Calliope and Feferi had built a makeshift "safety net" of sorts from assorted pillows, blankets, and couch cushions. They had asked you if you had wanted to participate before, but you had kindly refused. Honestly, you were more of a spectator than anything else. You'd rather just let everyone else have their fun while you simply observed with some metal trinket in your hands to play with. You weren't sure why, but you've always had more of a connection with machines than you did with humans. Bro had always been supportive, since robots were badass and kind of close enough to the smuppets that both enjoyed (Dave found them creepy for some reason, though). You observed as the first child fell, and you had to facepalm at the fact that it was Dave who fell first.
"So uncool…" you mumbled, shaking your head. Dave, of course, chose to stick his tongue out at you as he attempted to do a few flips in the air before landing on his back.
"I'M BEING IRONIC!" He "yelled dramatically" as he fell.
You sighed, resigning yourself to the fact that you probably had to save him, and stood from your corner…and then, it happened. You weren't how or why, but all of a sudden the tower began to topple over, leaning in the direction of Calliope and Feferi, who were distracted by their efforts into creating a perfect net. Panicked slightly, you tried to move, to run before it was too late…and then a bright flash suddenly crossed your vision; or at least, that's how it'd seem to any other person. You, however, knew exactly what was most likely going on. Within a split second, you, Calliope, and Feferi were moved, the tower had disappeared, and the other kids were lying on the ground, looking incredibly confused.
And where was Bro in all of this? Naturally sitting upon his chair as he was a split second ago, like a boss. You were pretty sure you'd be Bro when you grew up.
Lulu: End~
