DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN YU-GI-OH!

Chapter 11

"What should I do?" Atem thought to himself. "If I hold back and let Yugi win, he might find out and never forgive me. Or, if I let him win, he'll be happy. But then again, if he wins he won't continue to strive and he'll become lazy." Atem bit his thumb as Yugi prepared the game.

Feeling Atem's distress, she thought to herself. "What is wrong with him?" She saw him fret and fidget around. "Is he afraid Yugi will win? No, there's more, isn't there Atem?" Anzu smirked and crossed her arms. She took a good look until her eyes landed on his. She gasped. His eyes were filled with confusion and regret. Atem obviously is deciding on whether to beat Yugi or not. "But why? This situation has a simple answer, just think."

"If I beat him though… he'll…" Atem was almost overtaken in his internal struggle (A/N See what I did there? lol) and was about to lose it! "Ugh… what would Anzu do here? She deals with children all the time…" Atem's eyes widened. Anzu; that could be a clue to the answer! Looking back, Atem saw that Anzu was staring intensely at him, as if trying to answer him. But, typically, the answer eluded him. But, when he looked into her eyes, he gasped and saw it. "I understand…" he mumbled, Anzu nodded. Turning back to the game, he watched Yugi and knew what he had to do. "I know what I have to do. No matter how much it hurts." The game had just finished the intro and is now at the main menu.

"Ok, we're doing… battle." With the wave of Yugi's arm, a song list appeared. Most of them were recent too. Yugi's eyes widened to that of a child on Christmas morning.

"Look at how happy my Yugi is!" Rebecca gushed. Looking down, Anzu saw the blonde child and couldn't help but laugh.

"So you like Yugi then?" Anzu asked.

"Well duh! Of course!" Anzu was dumbfounded. No person she has ever met would ever acknowledge the fact that they liked someone. But Rebecca didn't even hesitate on denying it.

"Interesting…" Anzu mumbled.

"So bro, pick your poison." Atem whipped his head to Yugi.

"Where did you learn that!?" he yelled. Yugi flinched and rubbed the back of his head nonchalantly.

"I don't know, I think I heard it on TV or something… maybe at school from some kids in the higher grades." Atem's eye twitched for a moment while Yugi just scrolled through the songs. "Come on Atem, pick a song." Once Yugi scrolled to the bottom, a preview of a song started playing.

If you wanna scream yeah! Let me know and I'll take you there!

"That one!" Atem yelled while pointing. He then slid his arm to the side and picked it. "Set your difficulty Yugi." Setting his to hard, Yugi watched closely and set his to hard as well.

"You ready Atem?!" Yugi said enthusiastically.

"As ready as I'll ever be…" Atem replied lamely. Yugi blinked while his mouth was open.

"Well get ready then!"

"Ok," said Anzu.

"Now let's see what Atem decided." said Rebecca.

All of them focused on the screen as the dancers appeared, trash talking the opponent, and got into position.

"Atem, do what you have to. I hope you made the right decision." thought Anzu.

3, 2, 1, GO!

If you wanna scream, yeah
Let me know and I'll take you there
Get you going like ah-ooh
Baby baby ooh baby baby
Ah-ooh baby baby ooh baby
If you wanna turn right
Hope you're ready to go all night
Get you going like ah-ooh
Baby baby ooh baby baby
Ah-ooh baby baby ooh baby
If you wanna scream…

The song ended and the victor was decided. At a staggering 3,275,378 100% Flawless, stood a very tired Atem. He was so tired, that he fell backwards.

"Too… many… curls…" he panted. Giggling, Anzu walked to him and knelt down to him until she was sitting on her legs.

While Yugi, on the other hand, had an incredible 2,863,738 99% Great! He was so close! He was about to beat his brother!

"Ugh…" Rebecca walked up to Yugi and wrapped her arm around his.

"You were awesome Yugi!"

"Yeah well I wanted to beat Atem!" he puffed. Rebecca giggled.

"Well that just means you have to work a little harder then. You're there, you just have to refine your skills."

"Yeah, that's true!' Yugi turned to Atem. "You hear that Atem?! I'm gonna get better and beat you one day. Come on Rebecca." Yugi and Rebecca left Atem and Anzu in search for cool toys.

After they left, Anzu picked up Atem's head and placed it on her lap.

"Are you ok Atem?" she asked. Atem's breathing eased a bit and he opened his eyes. Once seeing Anzu from that angle, he blushed and quickly got up.

"Y-yup, never better!" Anzu stood up, smirking and brushing herself off.

"Well alright then. Now," she walked closer to Atem. To tease him obviously. She walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his arm like before. "Let's go look around more Atem! This has been very fun so far." Atem couldn't believe it, she was having fun?! And then, he saw it, she was actually, genuinely smiling! The most confusing part was, Atem wanted to make sure she keeps that smile from now on.

"Crap…" he thought. "Uh ok, let's go." Atem took a deep breath and began to walk in the opposite direction of his little brother. "Just calm down Atem. She's just a person, no reason to be so stiff." he thought. Atem took a quick look at her and saw her smiling still. This made his eyes go wide and made his heart race until it began pounding against his rib cage.

"Too easy." Anzu thought. "Oh but I just can't help it! I just can't resist the urge to tease him, especially this bad! What's wrong with me?"

Atem closed his eyes for a minute, he breathed slowly, "Atem Mutou, you promised you would show her a good time. What are you waiting for?!" Atem opened his eyes and grinned. Anzu felt a change in him and looked up, only to be met with a different Atem than before. "Up you go!" Atem got down and put Anzu on his back, something she has never experienced before. "Hang on tight!"

"Wait what?!" In that instant, Atem began running with Anzu on his back. And strangely enough, they were both laughing. Anzu was laughing because she was actually having fun while Atem was laughing just for the sheer joy of it and because Anzu was laughing.

The two began their journey through the store and found many things to do. Once Atem put Anzu down, they were at a candy area of the store. Atem could tell he made a good choice in going there first from Anzu's expression. She was wide eyed and looked as if she was basking in the sweet scents of chocolate and other sweets that filled the air. It was intoxicating, but he knew she loved it.

Anzu ended up buying a hand-full of chocolate. Looking at the bag, Atem shivered in remembering that morning.

"Never again…" he mumbled. Anzu had a bar of chocolate in her mouth but she turned to him.

"Come again?" she tried to say. Atem blinked and felt laughter bubble up in his throat. Then he noticed all the smudged chocolate on her face and found it harder to contain his laughter. "Man I love chocolate!" she yelled with a goofy grin knowing full well that Atem was about to laugh.

Atem's restraints failed and he led on a full on laughter barrage. He had to lean against the wall before something else failed him.

"Ha, I made you laugh!" said an unusually childish Anzu. Atem was calming down and once he did he grabbed her arm and ran somewhere else.

This time, he brought them back to the games.

"Atem, I don't dance."

"Very funny, I'm way too tired to do that thing again. We're gonna play something else." The two looked around until a certain game caught Anzu's eye.

"Wow, I haven't seen this in years."

"What, a game?" Anzu punched Atem's arm and he rubbed it shortly after he yelled. "OW!"

CLICK!

"Very funny, no. I meant this." Anzu held up a Mariokart game. "I used to have a Nintendo 64 so I used to have a lot of Mario games and I loved the racing one." Atem raised a brow.

"Are you good?" he asked trying to contain his smirk.

"I think so… I mean, when I was young, no one could beat me but… I haven't played in a while. It's not like I can play anyway. I work so I have no gaming consoles, and I don't have time to play anyway."

"Then what makes today special?" Anzu turned to Atem and smiled.

CLICK!

"Well, I had a good reason to shirk my duties." After that, Anzu walked passed him. He turned and watched her, seeing the way she walked. For some reason, he liked it.

"It's like she can walk like a boss. Is that even possible? Anyway, I'm glad you're having fun Anzu." Atem mumbled. He looked to the shelf where the game Anzu saw was. "Mariokart is for Wii and I don't have one…" Atem walked over to the Xbox section but checked to see that Anzu was looking at Nintendo games. "Actually, I have a better idea." He walked over to Anzu. "Let's go somewhere else now." he said while holding out his hand. Anzu looked at him and saw the kindness in his eyes. He's completely different from before. What happened? No longer caring, Anzu took his hand and they walked away.

After a while of running around through candy sections, games, toys, Anzu managed to lose Atem as part of their game. So when she looked behind, she didn't see him. Backing up, Anzu bumped into something and it seemed to be able to grab her.

"I found you." said Atem.

"Cheater." Anzu said playfully. Atem let go, shocked.

"Anzu, how could you say that? I would never cheat…" he said while covering his face.

"Nice act, but you can't fool me that easily." Atem stuck his tongue out.

"Ah, I know, but it was worth a try." Atem looked around, wondering where they were.

"Atem,"

"Yeah?"

"A photo booth, I didn't think that would be here." Atem turned around and saw it. They were in a pretty empty part of the store. Atem saw how much Anzu was looking at the machine and wondered if she ever went in one.

"Well, we can't just stand here. Let's go in!" Atem took Anzu's hand and let her go in first. Once he got in he said, "Silly faces first ok?" Anzu nodded, but before he did anything, he took off Anzu's hat then Atem took out a dollar and inserted it. "Let the fun begin!" Atem took his hands and lengthened his mouth while sticking his tongue out. Anzu saw this and tried to copy him.

Click!

"Ok, now random faces!" Atem showed the top of his teeth but covered the bottom and used his fingers to make it look like he had horns. Anzu saw his face and laughed, pointing at him while holding her stomach.

Click!

"Oh and what were you laughing at?" Before Anzu could answer, Atem grabbed her again, the same way from when they were on the Ferris Wheel. This time, their foreheads were connected.

"I wasn't laughing at you, you know." Anzu put her finger on his chest, both of them taking their heads apart and looking into each other's eyes.

Click!

They were still in that position, but now they were a bit closer. So close that they got to the point where their noses were touching. They closed their eyes, smiling.

Click!

Then something happened that Anzu didn't prepare for. She began looking at Atem's lips. And she didn't know that Atem was doing the same thing. They both smirked,

"One time won't hurt anyone." said Anzu. Atem chuckled lowly.

"Funny, I was thinking the same thing." With that out of the way, they both slowly made their way to each other. Once their lips brushed up against each other, they knew that this going to be crazy. With the start of one simple kiss, it turned very sweet short after. Better than any candy either one of them has ever had. Anzu wrapped her arms around Atem's neck while Atem tightened his hold on Anzu. The way their lips moved along was perfect, almost like they were made to. Right when things were about to get heated,

Click!

Opening their eyes in shock, they quickly let go and Atem ran to get the pictures while Anzu put on her hat.

When the photos were printed, two sets came out. One for him and one for Anzu. Atem was reaching for them but found he was a little dizzy. His lips tingled, "Holy shit, I wonder what would have happened if we continued?! I feel dizzy from a halfhearted kiss, how would I feel after… ok I shouldn't have even thought about kissing her anyway." Atem took the pictures to put them in his pocket and Anzu finally came out, but it looked like she was dizzy too.

"Ugh, why does it feel like I have a hangover or something? All we did was kiss, it's not like he had some shots before coming and even if he did, and it shouldn't even have an effect on me. Damn… wait… Oh no!" Anzu yelled.

"What's wrong?" asked Atem.

"I still have to find someone to stall the crowd!" Anime question marks appeared over Atem's head.

"What?"

"Um… when are we leaving?" Atem took a look at the time through his phone and saw that they had been there way longer than he had originally planned for.

"I guess now. Yugi must have found something he wanted by now, come on." Without realizing it, Atem put his arm around Anzu's shoulders. She was shocked about this, mainly because Atem didn't know he was doing this. Strangely enough, she didn't really care at this very moment.

When they came back to the entrance, Atem held out both of his arms.

"Anzu come here and do this too."

"Uh… ok I guess?"

"YUGI!" he yelled. His voice echoed through the whole store and about two minutes later, little Yugi came falling from a higher floor and landed right in Atem's and Anzu's arms.

"Hi! You called me big brother?" Atem nodded.

"Yup, did you pick something yet?"

"Mm-hmm! Rebecca's bringing it… now!" Atem put Yugi fully into Anzu's arms and she held him up normally.

Little five-year-old Rebecca came, a kart full of candy and toys. Anzu saw this and went wide eyed. She looked at Atem and saw that he became pale.

Rubbing his head, Atem took the kart and went to the cashier. Luckily, there wasn't a line because of the other lanes.

"Hi there." said the cashier.

"Hello, sorry about this but my little brother just loves his toys."

"It's alright, it's my job anyway." After everything was scanned and placed in bags. Atem was getting his wallet out to pay.

"Crap…" Atem checked his other pocket. Then the back pockets, then his jacket. He was about to start panicking when,

"Don't worry, I got it." said Anzu. Atem went wide eyed, thank everything good in the world that she was here. That would have been embarrassing for him, not to mention Yugi would be so sad.

After everything was paid for, Atem got the bags while Anzu held Yugi. Before Atem left, the cashier stopped him.

"Hey, uh I know it's not my place to say this but… that is one hell of a woman." Atem blinked and watched her leave with her brother as a small grin appeared on his face.

"Yeah… thanks." Atem grabbed the bags and tried to catch up to them.

"Hey slow poke!" said Yugi who was giggling over Anzu's shoulder. Anzu turned around and smiled.

"So, I have a favor to ask."

"What is it Anzu?" They continued walking to the car, and when they all got in, that was when Anzu continued. "I need you to drop me off at Central Park, if you don't mind."

Atem just strapped on his seat belt and saw Yugi climbing on top of Anzu's lap to seat with them up front.

"I don't mind, as long as you let us go with you." Yugi raised his arms up.

"Yeah, I wanna go too!" Anzu looked at them both and knew she couldn't say no.

"Fine, but you have to stay with me the whole time, understand?!" They both nodded. "Ok, let's go. Ugh… who can I get to stall the crowd? I remember Tadao telling me that the person who was supposed to perform is gonna be late so I need to think. Someone has to stall the crowd. It has to be someone who can move a crowd with just their presence. Someone who can, not only carry a tune, but preform extraordinarily well. But who?" she thought.

About ten minutes passed and Anzu basically ran to this huge stage in the middle of the park and a crowd. When she ran, Atem grabbed Yugi and quickly followed.

"Excuse me, important person coming through!" Anzu yelled while heading backstage. Everyone there turned and saw a woman with a hat on. Anzu quickly took off her hat and the all knew who she was.

"Anzu, thank goodness you're here!" yelled Tadao who came down from checking the speakers. "Everything is set, but we still need…"

"Someone to entertain the crowd, I know." Just then, Atem came in.

"Hello…?"

"Security!" yelled Tadao. Atem's eyes widened.

"No, stop! They are friends, I told them they can come." The bouncers backed off and Anzu glared at Tadao. "To think I was having fun before… oh well."

"Miss Mazaki," Anzu turned to a man in a suit. He was tall, short brown hair, dull blue eyes, no doubt a C.E.O. "My name is Seto Kaiba…" Anzu gasped.

"S-Seto Kaiba?! The Seto Kaiba?! C.E.O and head of Kaiba Corp?!" Atem saw Anzu tremble a bit, and he didn't like that. "What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to see how you handle this, that's all." Anzu glared for a moment before smirking.

"Fine, just don't get in my way!" Anzu thought for a minute as Kaiba chuckled and walked off. When he left, Atem walked up to her.

"What's wrong?"

"Atem, if I do well here… he's going to offer me something. I just don't know what."

"Well, let's think. What have you always wanted to do with your company? If Seto Kaiba, the one person who can control anything he wants, offers you something, it must be a way for you to achieve that goal." Anzu gasped.

"Atem… you are brilliant! Now that I know what's going to happen. I have to get there first." Anzu began looking around the room and finally saw the people playing the music. "Tadao,"

"Yes Anzu?"

"I forgot who was supposed to play here."

"Ne-yo ma'am."

"Whoa Ne-yo, really?!" asked Atem.

"Yeah, you like his music Atem?"

"Yeah, Atem loves it! He listens to it every day!" said Yugi. Atem blushed a little and tried to change the topic.

"Wait… 'It has to be someone who can move a crowd with just their presence. Someone who can, not only carry a tune, but preform extraordinarily well.' I can't believe it, the answer was in my face the whole time!"

"What?" asked both Tadao and Atem.

"You Atem! You have been the answer. I just need you to get out there and sing one song for those people. Oh and dance a little bit too." Atem paled.

"Oh is that all?" he said sarcastically. Anzu walked closer to Atem and held Yugi.

"Atem, I need you to do this for me. Please, I will be in your debt." Atem sighed and heard the crowd, and it sounded like they were getting impatient.

"Uh… fine! But on one condition." Anzu nodded.

"Yeah, anything!"

"I don't want you to think you owe me or anything." Atem walked passed her and grabbed the mic.

"Play song one!" yelled Tadao. Everyone ran to place while a make-up team was quickly putting something on Atem to protect his skin from the lights and other stage elements.

"Damn it Atem, one little kiss and you're hooked! Damn… well, at least I'll be helping Anzu reach her goal so I guess it's worth it." Once Atem reached the curtain, he heard the cries of people wanting what they came for. And who is he to deny them that.

"Curtains up! Music, lights, let's get this show on the road people!" yelled Anzu. Before Atem went out there, Anzu came up and hugged him. "You have no idea how thankful I am of you right now." Atem didn't turn around.

"I said don't worry about it Anzu." He turned. "I'm doing this cause we're friends." Anzu looked up at him, she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Thank you." She leaned up and kissed his cheek. "Do your best Atem." He smiled and nodded. The music started and Atem ran out onto the stage.

"You guys ready for an awesome show!" They roared. "I can't hear you!" They roared even louder. "Let's go!"

Anzu watched from the side, which was unseen by the audience, and hoped that this would work. Feeling her pants being tugged, she looked down and saw Yugi.

"Oops, sorry Yugi. Come on," Anzu bent down to pick Yugi up. "Ah, let's watch your brother ok?" Yugi raised his arms again.

"Yeah! Go Atem, you can do it!" Anzu giggled since Yugi's so excited.

"I just hope Seto Kaiba likes it. His company is an international sensation, and my goal is to make my company the same. An international sensation." she thought. "Please Atem, I'm betting all my cards on you. Don't let me down."
