POV specifically targeted in this chapter: Sol Deuce (Midnight Crew), Lux Deuce (Midnight Crew)
"Sol are you sure that this is a good idea?" Your name is Sol Deuce, and this was a great idea. You were sitting in your living room, setting up a camera while your brother Lux looked down precariously from the top of the steps. Ever since you two saw those really cool parkour videos on Youtube, you wanted to try doing some of the stuff at home to see if you could start your own channel and make millions!
…Unfortunately, neither you nor Lux were skilled in parkour, so skateboarding would have to do.
"Sol, I don't really think this is safe…"
You tsked at your brother's warnings. "Lux, it's not supposed to be safe; it's supposed to be cool."
"…But, I'm not cool." Lux said nervously. "Why don't you do it?"
"Who's going to film it then?"
"I will."
"No way, you say you will, but then you'll forget to turn it on or something and I'll have done something really awesome for nothing."
Lux sighed. "Can I at least have a helmet?"
"Cool guys don't wear helmets, Lux."
"I DO NOT WANT TO BE COOL!"
"What's going on?" You paused for a moment, smiling dreamily at the person in front of you. Aradia Droog, the person you'd basically had a crush on since you realized what a "crush" was, and even a little before that. Yeah, it was no secret (to basically anyone with eyes) that you gushed over this girl whenever she looked your way. Due to your eleven year old temperament, however, you wouldn't openly admit your feelings for her; instead, you'd always result to complicated and obscure plotting to win her over. Of course, you failed every time, mostly because your plans never made sense. Hey wait a minute…maybe this could play into your plans…
"What does it look like?" You replied smoothly (with a stutter). "We're making a video."
"It looks more like you're just torturing Lux again."
"What? I would never torture Lux." Tease him, sure, but torture him? That'd just be too cruel.
"He's crazy! He wanted to skateboard down the steps!" Lux chimed in, whining as per usual. He was such a tattletale.
Aradia sighed, looking annoyed as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "You guys are so dumb…speaking of dumb, did you hear what the Felt Kids tried doing yesterday?"
You bit your tongue, hoping she's not going to say what you think she will. "Feed the homeless?"
"No, they tried to do parkour for some reason. Caliborn kept saying how he saw some kid on Youtube do it and thought he could make Gamzee do that kind of stuff for views. Sounds stupid, right?" So that's who was staring creepily over your shoulder at break time. You knew you'd felt some kind of presence there, but by the time you looked to see who it was the other person had run away.
"Uh yeah…completely stupid…" She scrutinized your awkward stance, how you kept pulling your gaze nervously to the floor because wow did the black carpet just get more interesting.
"…Sol…you didn't…"
"Um…"
Aradia looked at the twins and the stairs with mild exasperation. "Really? Skateboards on stairs?"
You most certainly DIDN'T BLUSH from embarrassment (well, maybe you did…but it was TOTALLY COOL AND MANLY). "Well yeah…parkour's dangerous, you know."
"It's just about as dangerous as this! Were you really going to let Lux break his arm or something?"
"Well if I did it, who would hold the camera? Lux would forget and then we'd just be bored all over again." Aradia sighed, looking kind of mad…before smiling a little. Then smiling a lot, then just bursting out laughing. "What? What's so funny?!"
"I…I don't know…" Aradia replied, wiping a tear from her eyes. "Just what guys do when they're absolutely bored…it's so weird!"
You were conflicted on whether or not you liked being considered weird, before Aradia interjected again. "If you really wanted to do something fun, you could just come geocaching with me and Slick."
Your eyes grew wide in shock at this astonishing revelation. "Geocaching? Since when do you…"
"Well, one day I kind of found a box on accident, and then once I learned about it the idea seemed like fun. Dad doesn't like to go though, since he has to do lots of numbers stuff for the Midnight Crew, so me and Slick have fun and do it once in a while. Slick loves treasure."
"What about Karkat?"
"He doesn't like geocaching, so he just stays with Droog and writes stuff. I think he's been trying to make a movie script or something, but it's for one of those rom-coms he always watches." Aradia grinned. "So what do you say, wanna come with me and Slick? It'll be a lot safer than making a silly video."
"Sure!" You were probably too excited for this, quickly zooming to get on your shoes (specifically the really cool black ones that were incredibly shiny). This was your chance to finally have some (kind of) alone time with Aradia. What were you even doing before?
BE THE FORGOTTEN ONE
Your name is Lux Deuce, and you're not sure if you guys were still doing the video. You'd been left alone at the top of the steps, probably to mourn your lonely existence…nah, you weren't going to do that. You weren't that depressed about being left behind, in fact you were glad. Staying here meant not having to be exposed to Sol's poorly hidden lovey-dovey stuff.
Now you could do what you did best: going to hang out with Eridan and Feferi while ignoring Eridan's poorly hidden lovey-dovey stuff…Well, at least with Eridan you guys got your own unique flavor of ice cream. It was Neapolitan flavored, because your trio was just so weird that you each declared yourselves one part of the flavor. Feferi being strawberry was a given, she was just way too…well, pink, there was no other word you could possibly use to describe her. Eridan picked chocolate because he believes that it is the flavor of the gods (and in some cases, he's not wrong). As for me, I just went with vanilla. It was simple sure, but it was a good classic. You hoped that you could be one of those someday…a classic, not an ice cream flavor...although admittedly that would be awesome.
Lulu: End~ If the SolAra wasn't obvious before, it is now.
Confirmed ships so far in this fanfiction: JadeTav, TerNep, DaveKat, SolAra
