Prompt: A different take on 11x09 ending.

April looks around the now empty hospital. The only people that were still here were the doctors. She cleans up the beds and switches the pillows. Her hands need to keep busy, she needs to keep herself busy. The baby starts to kick when Jackson talks to Owen in the background. She wants to cry every time she feels him move.

Callie walks over to her with a concern look on her face while April clutches her stomach. "April, April is everything ok? Is there something wrong with the baby?"

April drops whatever is in her hand and starts to laugh. Her laughter fills the hospital the quiet hospital and everyone watches her. Jackson tries to touch her but she shakes him off. "No, no it's funny you should ask that, is there something wrong with the baby?"

"April, don't." Jackson pleads to her. "Let's just go home.

"No, you all want to know what's wrong with me!" Her voice gets louder. "Well who already knows? Jackson, obviously, who else? There's Arizona, Herman, oh and of course, Stephanie." Steph winces beside Alex and Jo. "The baby, our baby has Osteogenesis imperfecta. Let's refresh everyone on this. OI also known as brittle bone disease is a congenital bone disorder characterized by brittle bones that are prone to fracture. People with OI are born with defective connective tissue. There are eight types. Now you all tell me, how am I supposed to act?

"There are mothers who kill their kids everyday! Me and Jackson are the ones that have our baby get OI! How is that fair? How is anything that has happened here been fair! I can't cry because if I cry, I won't ever stop!" Amelia leaves the room with tears in her eyes. "So can all of you let me get back to surgery? Because if I do nothing, I'll explode." Jackson wraps an arm around her shoulder. April looks at him with tears in her eyes. "Did I tell you it's a boy?"

Jackson's eyes widen. "No."

"We're having a boy." The couple hugs each other and sobs.

Slowly one by one the doctors come over and gently put a hand on the couple's back. Jackson can feel Alex and Richard's grab his shoulder. While April feels the gently rubs on her back from Arizona and Meredith.
