Surprisingly Nick and Jeff had much in common. For example they both liked comics, swimming and drawing. When they got to Jeff's house they started to talk, tell each other random stuff about them selves.
"So you and Kurt were really Cheerios before?" Jeff blushed, a little embarrassed.
"Yeah... We thought that we were gonna be a little more accepted if we joined, but it really didn't work out as planned. Plus, Sue can really be a pain in the ass." Jeff said and laughed nervously.
"Oh..." Nick said. He didn't think Jeff or Kurt was being bullied, he never noticed. I guess I never really looked, I should start doing that. "But I understand what you mean about Sue. She actually scares me a bit."
"That's what she does." Jeff smirked. "But she has also helped us through some hard stuff so I'm very grateful that she has been here." Nick looked up to look at Jeff's face but his eyes where watching his bed sheets.
"Anyway... Enough about me and my boring life, I wanna know why you have been acting like you did when you got here." Nick froze and his blood drained from his face. Jeff looked worryingly at him.
"I-I'm sorry I asked." Jeff then said and felt stupid.
"No, just... I understand that you wanna know and I will tell you. But I'm just not ready yet." Nick whispered and sighed.
"Of course, take you time. I shouldn't have asked." Jeff said in a rush. Nick smiled a little and laid his hand on Jeff's shoulder.
"I said it was okay. But can't we talk about something more fun?"
"Yeah, of course." Jeff smiled back and changed direction of their conversation.
"See, we're progressing." Kurt said with a smile. Sam smiled back and closed his book with a sigh. Kurt had been tutoring him for two hours now and they both were a bit exhausted.
"Thanks Kurt! You've really helped me lot today." He said and hugged Kurt. Kurt hugged back but when it became a little too long he pulled away and put his hand on Sam's shoulder.
"Anytime." He spoke softly. "So tell me when you are free so we can decide when we can have a little study session again."
"Whenever works for me." Sam said and stretched his arms above his head.
"Okay, so maybe tomorrow after school again?" Kurt asked and yawned slightly. "Does that work?"
"Sure, works well." Sam smiled and rose from his bed. Kurt did that too and looked at his watch.
"I better go home and make sure that dad or Finn doesn't find the place where I've hidden all our unhealthy food." He said and gave a little laugh and walked to the door. Sam walked after him. "Don't worry, I can get out myself."
"Right... Well, see you tomorrow Kurt!" Sam said a bit awkward from where he'd stopped.
"Bye!" Kurt called and went out of the room. When the smash of the door to his house echoed through the rooms Sam walked to the door to his room and closed it. He leaned his back against it and sank down until he sat. He put his arm around his knees and sighed.
"What am I going to do?"
Even though they changed subject and even though they said goodbye hours ago he still couldn't stop thinking about it. Jeff turned around in his bed again. What happened to him? He was exhausted but he couldn't sleep because the question was stuck in his head. Why did he drop his mask, his façade that easily? Jeff thought it was really strange even though he felt kind of honored.
Stop thinking about it Jeff! He said he was gonna tell you when he was ready!
Jeff sighed since he couldn't argue with his thoughts. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep.
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?
His thoughts were so loud that it was giving him a headache. Nick paced the room while he ran his fingers through his hair.
The mask that you've worked up so much! And you just drop it for some random guy!
"Uuuuuuuughhhh!" Nick cried out in frustration. He threw himself on his bed and buried his face in the pillow. He turned around and glared at the ceiling.
"But he's different." He hissed at himself.
No he's not! Do you really wanna go through THAT again? Like it wasn't enough with the actual issue...
"SHUT UP!" Nick growled out loud. He was lucky that only his mother was in the house and she was a heavy sleeper.
Sam sat on his bed and sighed. I can't stop thinking about his lips on my neck. He put his hand on his neck and rubbed the still slightly visible hickey.
If only he felt the same way about me.
But then he shook his head with a determinate look.
Nothing goes from sitting here and whine. I'm gonna show him that I want him as more than a friend.
Review! :') xoxo
