Notes: My heart is still hurting from the episode and it goes out to every single Merder fan. Obviously below are spoilers for tonight's episode so don't read it if you don't want spoiled. Here's a very short and quick story please follow, favorite, and review.
"What are you doing?" Jackson asks while April throws clothes into her bag. "April," his voice is still horse from all the crying at the funeral, "please tell me what you are doing."
"I'm leaving. We're leaving. I need a break, everyone is dying. Everyone, he was our mentor, our friend, and he died because I wasn't his trauma surgeon. I would've given him a CT, they killed him." April grits between her teeth.
Her husband wraps his arms around her and kisses her head. "Listen to me. We are not leaving, we can't. Everyone in the hospital needs each other, Meredith needs us. That hospital was bad yes, and we will sue the hell out of them but there was nothing you could do. You were at work, ok?"
April sobs into her husband's very nice suit. "He died on birthday."
"I know and I am so sorry." Jackson kisses her head again.
