"Mommy won't get up, again. Did I do something wrong?" Meredith looks at the little girl sadly. Today was Alex and Meredith's turn to watch young Rosalie Avery, since her mother refused to get up.
It's been two weeks.
During those weeks, each day one of the doctors from Grey Sloan came over and watched Rose, since her mother would not get up. She just lies in bed, unwilling to see her own daughter. Meredith understood what she was going through but someone needed to snap her out of it.
Just then the door knocked and Meredith quickly answered it, and was not shocked by who the guest was. "Where is she?"
"In the bedroom." Meredith watches the figure walk to the bedroom and she returns to making lunch while Alex played with Rose.
April sits up in bed and wipes her nose with a tissue. "What are you doing here?"
"What kind of a question is that? April what are you doing?" Catherine grabs her daughter-in-law's hand.
"I can't leave. Everything smells like him."
Catherine looks around and sees his various shirts in the bed with her. "You have a daughter that needs you."
"She looks too much like him, I can't." She shakes her head quickly and wipes her eyes.
"Yes you can, and you better. This is what you're going to do. You are going to take a shower, then you're going to see your baby girl, and your going to love on her and give her a big hug. Then your going to arrange the funeral, you'll invite everyone from the hospital. Everyone who touched his life, you'll invite. You'll put on a nice black dress, and then you'll say goodbye. You have to because, I lost a son, and you lost a husband. But the worst of all is Rose lost a father."
April nods and walks out of the door.
"Mommy!"
They plan a funeral and the whole staff shows up.
Yet again they bury another one of their own.
April holds Rose tightly to her side as they say their goodbyes.
