Prompt: April fights for their marriage

Notes: So it's been awhile, mostly because I have had no inspiration and the way their storyline is going into season 12 pisses me off. But thank you so much for 101 reviews! It makes me so happy! Please follow, favorite and review.

Jackson and Alex walked down the hallway in silence. They had to leave the wedding early because of their patients. The sound of heels and the sight of a very upset Kepner made them stop in their tracks. "You!" She pointed at Jackson, "You don't get to just call it quits."

"I'm not calling it, this is your choice. I didn't get to grieve my child!" Jackson tries to keep his voice calm, "You left me all alone. I'm not going through that again."

"This was supposed to be me and you, remember? You don't get to just throw in the towel. This what we do, we fight, I freak out and do something stupid and then we have sex and make up. I'm not giving this up, you're not giving this up. Because then, then you standing up at the wedding, me giving you my virginity, the bus exploding, bathrooms, on-call rooms, us eloping, our secret marriage bubble, the death of Samuel, will mean nothing. Our relationship will be nothing because you sign a little piece of paper saying you wanted to be separated." April takes a quick breath and wipes the tears away. "I wasn't there for you, I'm a horrible wife for not even letting you grieve. I'm not leaving though, I'm staying and I'm going to hold you and you're going to mourn the loss of our son. Then we're going to get back to normal, we could get house, I don't know, you choose what we get to do. I'm not giving this up, because if something feels really, really good it can't be bad."

Jackson grabs her and kisses her, passionately and deeply. Alex quickly makes his escape, disgusted but happy for the couple. When they break apart, they walk down the hall, knowing that it wasn't going to be easy. They love each other though and they want to spend the rest of their lives together till the day they die.

April quietly hummed Total Eclipse of the Heart while they walked into the elevator. "I hate the new sofa by the way."

Jackson just smiled as the doors closed.
