A/N: Hello Hello Hello. I have was orginally going to pair kaci up with Genesis, but now I can't decide between Sephiroth and Genesis! therefore I will post a poll and let you decided. But I have a few tricks, so bear that in mind.
Genesis: I am by far the best suited to be with the lovely Miss Shinra.
Sephiroth: You hate her.
Genesis: But between you and I, I am more suited for romance.
Sephiroth: You are a loon.
Angeal: SOLDIERSAngel87 doesn't own Crisis Core, but she does own Kaci Shinra and the plot line. HEY! Genesis put the rapier down!
Kaci: Enjoy! And good luck, you're gonna need it.
Kaci Shinra slipped a towel around herself as she stepped out of the shower. Her caramel brown hair still looked perfect and that made Kaci smile. She threw on her uniform except the jacket, so she was in black leather pants and a black tank-top. She dried her hair and decided to leave it down. Kaci sighed and cast one last glance out the window before leaving to get breakfast.
Kaci hadn't run into her teammates yet, and so far that was a good thing. As she savored the good tasting breakfast a large amount of red caught her attention near the door. Kaci looked up hesitantly and saw it to be Genesis. Not wanting to be seen she slipped away and pitched the remnants of her breakfast before hastily leaving.
She sighed and decided to wander about before heading to the heli-pad. After about ten minutes Kaci had no earthly idea where she was. Judging by the thick stench of disinfectant it was probably the Science floor. Kaci touched her neck remembering the brutal injection of Mako that Hojo and stabbed into her neck. Wincing, Kaci decided it was time to go meet everyone else.
At the meeting place only Sephiroth was there, "Where's everyone else?" Kaci asked the silver haired general.
"I have no idea, but if they don't come soon we just might have to leave without them," Sephiroth said seriously.
Kaci chuckled. Her eyes went to the general trying to figure him out, "Hmm…"
"What?" he asked upon seeing her staring.
"Nothing, just thinking," Kaci said.
Sephiroth didn't say anything, but he was rather curious as to why she had been staring at him. His curiosity was ended when Angeal and Genesis came out. "Apologies for being late," Geal said. Sephiroth and Kaci stayed silent and all four boarded the helicopter. As Sephiroth and Angeal talked Genesis and Kaci stayed silent and avoided eye contact.
It was only when Genesis took out LOVELESS and began quoting, did Kaci relax. "To become the dew that quenches the land, to spare the sands, the seas, the skies I offer thee this silent sacrifice."
Angeal and Sephiroth turned and watched as Kaci and Genesis relax. Angeal and Sephiroth were surprised that Kaci was relaxing, they both knew that she always calmed down when Genesis read the poem, but given the circumstances…
Kaci closed her eyes and pressed her head to the cold metal behind her. She had no idea why she gave into the poems calming effect on her. "Infinite in mystery is the gift of the Goddess, We seek it thus and take to the sky, Ripples form on the water's surface the wandering soul knows no rest," Genesis quoted again.
Kaci let the words soothe her into sleep.
She looked up and saw that helicopter was landing. Kaci sighed and got up following Sephiroth. As Angeal went over the mission Kaci wasn't paying much attention, knowing that Sephiroth would brief her later. "Come on, Kaci," Seph pulled her from her thoughts and she followed him into Modeoheim.
"You weren't listening were you Kaci?" Sephiroth asked, smiling a little.
"Of course not," Kaci replied.
Seph chuckled, "Angeal and Genesis are supposed to go the operating room and shut down the signal. While we're going to the reactor and cutting the wires that were set up with the transmitter."
"Hmm, sounds simple."
"Wrong, Kaci. There are also troops that came back, we'll have a great time, Kaci," Sephiroth smiled.
Kaci laughed halfheartedly. As they neared the reactor sight Kaci and Sephiroth both pulled out their weapons. They walked along the main hallway and Kaci spied Genesis and Angeal going down the left hallway, while she followed Sephiroth to the right. The yellow lights slowly began to get smaller and not as bright. Her eyes went past Sephiroth's shoulders and she saw a darker space indicating an open doorway. "Seph," she whispered. Sephiroth turned, followed her eyes, spotted the doorway and nodded to Kaci.
Both readied their swords and Sephiroth walked further ahead of Kaci. Kaci followed behind but was stopped by a Wutai troop attacking Sephiroth. Kaci waiting in vain for an opening but the he was finished before Kaci could enter in. Seph turned and continued on.
That's more or less how the rest of being inside went. Wutai troops ran around corners and Sephiroth and Kaci defeated them promptly. "What happened to it being easy, hmm?" Kaci asked.
"I said it would be a great time, not easy, Kace," Sephiroth answered. Kaci scoffed at his answer. He opened the door and light poured in from outside.
"Think they've made it to the computers by now?" Kaci asked.
"They're probably on their way out here, Kaci," Sephiroth answered.
Kaci nodded. Two Wutai troops ran out; Kaci got one and Sephiroth got the other. As Kaci back flipped to avoid a blow she barely saw the large vat of the Mako reactor behind her. Kaci dodged the soldier's blows and gave her own; she stepped back and felt her foot hit the edge. One more step and Kaci knew she would fall into the reactor. She did her best to use only forward blows and it worked. Until the soldier went at her head and she had to avoid the blow and stab him simultaneously.
Barely done, Kaci slipped, but her hand hung onto the ledge. Her heavy sword seemed to pull her down as it dangled in her right hand. The two seconds felt like hours until Sephiroth appeared above her, "Kaci!" his hand wrapped around hers.
"Do me a favor and don't let go," Kaci begged. She threw her sword up it landed next to Sephiroth.
She gave him her other hand, and she tried to scale the slick reactor wall. She almost got a footing when a third Wutaian soldier ran head on into Sephiroth's side sending him about four feet away.
"Sephiroth!" was the only thing the general heard before killing the Wutai. He ran to the reactor and didn't notice that Angeal and Genesis had appeared beside him. Only seconds later a thud was heard and the Mako in the reactor reacted with Kaci's causing it to come up. The three men shielded their faces to avoid burns, but their minds were far from their physical well-being.
Angeal was the first to stand up, "We'd better let the President know," he said pulling out his phone. Sephiroth stood up as well, while Genesis stared at Kaci's sword.
Angeal snapped his phone shut, "Come on," he went down a few steps and opened a door, "We can't just leave the body."
Genesis carried Kaci's sword and Sephiroth followed along silently. When they reached the bottom of the Mako reactor and opened the door the men saw that the Mako came up from a section of wires in the middle about fifteen feet off the ground. Almost in the middle a female body clothed in black lay, dead.
Solemnly and silently the three walked over the girl. Angeal knelt down to brush a stray piece of hair out of her face but stopped upon feeling something on his wrist.
"Angeal?" Genesis asked upon seeing 'Geal stop.
"She's breathing," was all Angeal whispered. Quickly his glove came off and went to the pulse in her neck, it was weak but there. "She's alive."
Sephiroth and Genesis both knelt down and could see her small shallow breaths. Sephiroth picked her up bridal style and they all went out to the waiting helicopter. Angeal was on the phone with the President he closed his phone and turned towards the others, "The President will have medics waiting when we arrive."
"Hopefully she'll be ok," Sephiroth muttered.
A/N: I am evil. heheheh
