A/N: Hello! This chapter was fun to write.
reply to Lily: I;m so glad that you like my story. And i haven't had any inspiration for my Sandlot story, and I would be soo happy if you could help me.
Disclaimer: Square ENix owns Crisis Core, I own Kaci Shinra, and the themes.
Kaci walked through the halls and sighed. Today was her first day of training the Thirds; apparently all the other trainers were away on a mission so that's why she and her friends were asked.
Kaci clasped her hands behind her back and entered the room. A few of the Seconds looked up but they didn't do anything. Kaci glared to herself. "Formation!" she called. The SOLDIERS all sauntered to their positions a few of the younger ones ran to their places but not many. "Now, this won't happen again I trust it?" Kaci asked.
"Ma'am, no ma'am!" they all chorused, except one.
Kaci walked slowly to the one who hadn't replied, "What's your name, SOLDIER?" she asked.
He smirked, "Alan Rodgers, why missy?" a few of his buddies laughed.
Kaci took a step back and looked at him through steely eyes, "Eight laps around the Shinra building go."
The Second Class made no move to go, "I do not tolerate that disrespect and I know that the SOLDIER Corporation doesn't either. If you decide to do that again I can take you out of the program all together, now take your laps, go," she inclined her heard to the outside door.
He smirked again and half-heartedly jogged to the door, "If you're so weak I can make you a cadet!" she called. That sped up his pace. Kaci turned back to the other soldiers. "Now, I expect you to respect me as you would any other First Class. And I never want to see the behavior I saw when I came in, understood?"
"Ma'am, yes ma'am!"
"Good. Now I want respect not because of my position based on who I was born to, but because I am a First Class SOLDIER. Now, take five laps as a warm up." The Seconds all began running and Kace went to the clipboard on the desk in the corner.
A few of the cadets were bunched together while running, "Yo, she's pretty hot right?" a few of the others laughed.
"Yeah, but she means it. Think Alan'll try to do that again?"
"He might, but still she is wicked gorgeous!"
"You wouldn't have a chance with her! She's a First!"
"No, but you might, Sam," the brunette smirked at his friend.
"No way! I couldn't go up to the President's daughter and ask her out! She'd turn me down flat, Cal!" Sam replied.
Cal shrugged and entered the training room with the others.
Kaci looked up at the first few soldiers who had come in, "Take a break." They nodded their thanks and sat down to talk. Once the others were in, Kaci walked to the front, "Formation," it wasn't loud but they all returned to their positions, Kaci smiled, "Good, very good."
"Now you all will be working on hand to hand, pair up and I'll watch you. I may choose a few of you to go against me." A small wave of chatter rose up, as the cadets paired up. "Begin!" Kaci said as when they were finished.
She walked around slowly giving comments such as, "Head up," "Watch his body, not his eyes," "Keep your hands up, SOLDIER."
All in all the training went well, they sparred with swords as well and Kaci went against two of them. She didn't go full out but she didn't go to easy.
She now stood with the cadets talking to each other and she wrote down some things on a chart. The door opened and Kaci turned her head to see the silver haired general walk calmly in.
"Line up!" a SOLDIER called and the others all ran to formation, "General, sir!" they saluted. Kaci felt jealous, they didn't do that for her.
"As you were," Sephiroth said before walking to Kaci, "Almost done?"
Kaci didn't look up from writing, "Almost," she turned to the SOLDIERS, "You all did very well, dismissed. Alan Rodgers, come here." Alan looked up and almost hesitantly walked towards her, because I have Sephiroth standing behind me Kaci thought.
"Alan, you will never do again what did you today right?" she asked.
"Ma'am, yes ma'am!" he stood at attention.
"Good, because I keep my promises, dismissed SOLDIER," she said.
Alan saluted and turned to leave. "Something happen?" Sephiroth asked as they both walked out.
"Disrespect, but nothing I can't handle. How'd the Thirds turn out?" she said.
"Weaklings," he scoffed, "I only made them do fifty laps and they all looked like they were dying," Sephiroth commented.
"Fifty!? I only did five!"
"Ah, you're too soft Kaci," Sephiroth smirked.
"Shut up," she lightly hit his arm.
Sephiroth chuckled and walked with Kaci to the cafeteria where Genesis and Geal already were. "How's the training go Genesis?" Kaci asked.
Genesis groaned in answer, "They were completely weak. Obedient," he took a sip of whatever he was drinking, "But weak." The others laughed.
Angeal looked to Kaci, "What about you?"
Kaci shrugged, "It went well, I didn't work them like Sephiroth did though," she cast a pointed look towards the general.
"I did not overwork them," Sephiroth calmly stated.
The rest of the time consisted of some mindless chatter. Kaci sighed and stood up, "I think I'll go and work in my abandoned office."
The four Firsts had an office but they only got paperwork after a mission and generally Kaci used her room for that. In her office she had a desk, with her computer and a few files on the corner. Other than that her room was bear. She sighed and sat down opening one of the files she had to fill out because of the training session with the Seconds.
She looked up, after who knows how long, when someone knocked, "Come."
A Second Class came in and she briefly recalled his name being Sam. "Lieutenant Shinra?" he asked nervously.
Kaci smiled, "Come on in, Sam right?"
"Yes, ma'am," he stood at attention in front of her desk.
"Relax, SOLDIER. Now what do you want?"
"Um… Kaci," he looked at her to see if she was upset by using her first name, he could see that she wasn't. "I was wondering if you'd like to go to lunch with me this weekend?"
Kaci was surprised to say the least. What about Genesis? Wait it's only lunch… what am I saying he's asking me out. I don't wanna crush him but… Kaci sighed, "Sure. This Saturday and eleven thirty?"
His face lit up, "Yes ma'am."
"Alright I'll meet you outside of the Shinra building, do you have a place you'd like to go?" she asked.
He looked kind of nervous again, "Not off the top of my head ma'am."
Kaci smiled, "Alright I can think of one, but that means that I drive alright?"
He nodded, "Dismissed, SOLDIER. And Sam?"
The Second Class turned back to her. "You can call me Kaci when we're there." He nodded again and left the room. Kaci smiled but realized why was she going? Did she want to maybe go out with this blonde kid? No, not really.
It can't be that bad, and maybe I'll like it.
