A/N: Hello a new chapter here. Hope this one is as good as the last and I know it's short but I have another story that I want to work on, but, hey, i updated.
Disclaimer: Square Enix owns Crisis Core, I just own My OC and themes.
Kaci pulled the blue denim jacket over her grey tank top. She was wearing a pair of jeans, converse and her sunglass were about to be found. It had been a while since Kaci had worn something casual. She had on some light makeup, nothing fancy, but she still looked nice. She had left her hair natural and she had on her diamond stud earrings. Kaci grabbed her phone and shoved it into her pants pocket. She pulled her sunglasses out of a drawer and put them on top of her head. The keys to her silver car were in the same drawer so Kaci left the room spinning those keys on her finger. She glanced and her friends in the lounge and smiled. She knew they were full of questions but she would just have to wait.
Meanwhile Sam and Cal were in Sam's room. "Man you are so lucky!"
"I felt like a wreck asking her, but she said yes," Sam said and smiled. Cal flicked his black hair out of his eyes.
"Think she'll go out with you again?" Cal smirked.
"I don't think so; she seemed kind of hesitant to say yes…"
"She still said yes!"
Sam sighed. He had on a black V-neck, and jeans as well, "Do I look alright?"
Cal looked him up and down, "You look great man." Sam smiled and glanced at the clock. He had three minutes. "Bye!"
Kaci pulled her silver mustang up to the front of the Shinra building. She loved her car. She looked up and saw Sam looking around for her, "Sam!" his head flicked over to her and he smiled.
Kaci got out against the hood as he walked up, "Ready to go?"
He smiled, "Yeah." Kaci nodded and sat back in the driver's seat. "Nice car, by the way."
"Thank you, it was a birthday present," she said as she pulled out of the lot.
They talked a little and Kaci liked Sam, as a friend of course.
She had taken him to a simple little restaurant nothing fancy at all. As they took a seat outside Kaci remembered when she had Genesis had gone to see LOVELESS. Stop it Kaci, you're with Sam not, Gen. She told herself.
Sam was a sweet kid. He was from a little town and he had his mother and younger sister at home. His father had died right after he left to come here, so he sent some of his paycheck home every month. "Why are you a SOLDIER?" she asked him.
He looked thoughtful for a moment, "Because I saw them once in our town. They fought a monster and saved us. I vowed I wanted to be like them. Why are you a SOLDIER Kaci?"
Kaci smiled, "It's nothing as great as your story, I'm afraid. My father wanted his children to become SOLDIERS and I was that child. I always wanted to make him proud of me, so when he told me that I would protect the empire, I knew I would. If it would make him happy. It wasn't easy but being his daughter it made it easy to apply, but I had to work to get accepted and be a First."
"You're doing a good job, Kaci," he placed his hand over hers.
Kaci pulled her hand back, "Thank you Sam, you're not doing too bad yourself." She stood up and Sam followed her out to her car.
"Kaci I'm sorry, about that-"
"Its fine Sam," she dropped into her seat, "But I really don't think we should do this again. Not because of anything you did, but because I don't think I'm ready to go out with some else right now."
"Is it because I'm a second?" he asked, hurt.
"No! That's not it. You're really nice, Sam. And if the circumstances were different I would go again. But I have too many things on my mind. Please understand me," she begged.
Sam nodded, "Alright, it was still a good time though right?"
Kaci smiled, "Yes I did have a good time."
Kaci threw her sunglasses and phone on the bed. She fell back and sighed. She didn't like breaking up with Sam, but she had to. I can't think of anyone else but Genesis. Kaci got up and changed back into her uniform. She lies on her bed and fell into a heavy sleep.
Kaci had no idea how long she stayed there but once again she found that it was night. She tried to figure out what had pulled her from this state until she heard the knock repeated. Kaci groaned and got up to answer the door, "Genesis?" she asked the red haired SOLDIER who stood at the door.
"Hello Kaci," Kaci backed up and allowed him to come in.
"What are you doing here?" she asked him.
Genesis turned towards her, "Kaci, have you thought it over?" he had to turn around because she had migrated over to the window.
"I think I have, Genesis," she said. Genesis slipped to her side and ran his hand along her shoulder.
"And?"
"Yes," she whispered. Genesis smiled and pulled her to his side. Kaci smiled and leaned against him. "Do you really think I'm a goddess, Genesis?"
Genesis smiled and kissed her head, "Of course I do," his mouth slipped down to her ear, "A perfect goddess, with a perfect body," he kissed her ear, softly.
Kaci leaned back her head and she suppressed the urge to breathe his name. "Even with all my scars?"
Genesis grabbed her waist and pulled her back to him, "Especially with your scars, Kaci." She felt his breath on her neck and she was reminded of what they were doing. She pulled away, and leaned against the balcony rail.
"Kaci?" his hand brushed her hair away from her face.
She sighed, "Not tonight, Gen."
Genesis turned her towards him and wrapped his arms around her waist; she was forced to put her hands against his chest, "Whatever you wish, my goddess." He kissed her and she was overwhelmed by passion. She was reluctant at first but gave into the feeling. Genesis continued to kiss her passionately and felt Kaci's body become relaxed.
When Genesis broke away Kaci hungered for more. But as she regained her breath she was happy with just being with him. "Kaci?"
"Hmm?" she smiled and laid her head down on his chest.
"You sound tired," he told her.
"I am," she replied.
Genesis kissed her head again, "Then get some sleep," he brought her head up and pecked at her lips. Kaci nodded and watched as Genesis left. She changed into a black tank top and shorts. Kaci smiled as she slipped under her blanket.
She loved having Genesis as hers. Maybe something could become of this, but still something was nagging at her in the back of her mind. I'll make this work, the first real love I've had since my mother left and I won't let it slip through my fingers this time.
