Okay, my fellow readers, I'm sorry for taking so long to update this story, but I've been busy with my other works and, up until now, I couldn't think of any way to write this chapter. I also took notice that I've been more focused on Sonic and his friends, so I decided to dedicate this chapter to Pac and the others. Sonic and the rest of the Mobians will make an appearance or two.

Pac Finds Some Emeralds!

"…and that's about the sum of it," Sonic said. He had finished explaining everything to Silver about what happened while he was out cold. This included meeting with Pacster and his friends. Silver was definitely surprised at what had transpired after Eggman Nega had kidnapped him. The psychokinetic hedgehog was still recovering from the whole ordeal.

"That's quite a story, Sonic," Silver said before taking a look around. "Although, now that I've seen enough of this place, I can definitely tell that this is not our home. We've got to get the other Chaos Emeralds and find some way to restore them."

Sonic smirked at his friend. "Well at least you've got the objective down pat, pal. Sadly, our only way to restore them that I can think of is through the Temples of Gaia and they're on Mobius." Silver looked at the blue Werehog in shock. "Don't worry about how we'll get back, Silver. Tails is working with Sir Cumference on a ship that'll get us back home. Granted he might have to work with Eggman again. I can already tell you that he won't like it, especially after the last time."

"Yeah, well he's going to have to get over that, Sonic," said Shadow. "As much as we all can't stand Eggman and his bumbling henchbots, we're going to have to work with him."

"I've got no problem with Orbot and Cubot, Shadow. It's 'Baldy McNosehair' that I can't stand." Everyone laughed at the joke.

"That's a good one, Sonic," said Knuckles. He then looked at the sky. "The Sun's coming up." They saw that the Master Emerald's Guardian was indeed right. Sonic reverted back to his hedgehog form again.

"Man, I've got to get rid of that Werehog form once and for all," Sonic said. "I think it's best if we search for the Chaos and Sol Emeralds during the daytime. That way, we can collect them faster, along with anyone else that might've gotten caught in the Chaos Control Wave." The others agreed.

Pacster was going through another boring day of school just waiting to get out. Much to the chagrin of Cylindria, he was going to meet Pinky a little later. He couldn't believe it, but he also wanted another ghost attack to happen. Coincidentally, that's what Betrayus had in mind. After he heard the words 'Class dismissed', he was the first one out, followed closely by Spiral and Cylindria. Once they got to the cafeteria, they saw that there were ghosts there.

"Oh ho, this is going to be one good appetizer," he said. The ghosts saw the group and charged at him. Of course, Pac ate a freeze berry, turning into Ice-Pac. Eventually he froze all the ghosts and ate them. Of course, the normally yellow Pac burped out the eyeballs. "Like I said: 'One good appetizer'." It came as no surprise that Skeebo got sick to his stomach watching that.

"I don't know how many times I've told you this, Pacster, but that is just plain disgusting," Cyli said.

"I can't help it. That's how I get rid of them."

"I know that, but can you at least go somewhere else to burp?"

"Oh that. Once again, I can't help it."

"If you ask me, I think it's cool, even if it is used on other ghosts," said Pinky, who was one of the only four ghosts Pac didn't eat.

"Heh, thanks, Pinky."

Once school was over, the trio split up, with Pacster going to meet Pinky at the maze. She set up a picnic with some of Pac's favorite foods. This ranged from peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to apple pie. "Wow, Pinky, this looks great," he chuckled. "Was this what you wanted to show me?"

"Of course, Paccums. I thought we could enjoy a nice picnic together," Pinky said. Once Pac sat down, he felt like he hit something hard. "Are you okay, Pac?"

"Yeah, but we might want to have a look at what's under the blanket." Pac and Pinky lifted the blanket up and saw that he sat on a dull looking gem. Feeling a sense of familiarity with it, he dug it out of the ground and saw why it looked familiar. "I think this is one of those gems that Sonic was talking about. I believe he called it a Chaos Emerald."

"Let me see." Pinky saw that it was in a diamond shape, but like the one that Sonic had, the color and energy was drained. "Yeah, it is. I believe he said that there are two types of Emeralds: Chaos and Sol. The diamond-shaped ones are the Chaos Emeralds, while the Sol Emeralds are in a more rectangular shape. Is that right?"

"Yeah, and that means that we can help him find the other Emeralds," Pac said. "Now there has to be a Sol Emerald around here somewhere."

"I can convince Inky, Blinky, and Clyde to help, but after meeting Sonic, Blinky isn't going to be happy about helping him."

"Okay, Pinky, thanks. Now about that Sol Emerald…" Pacster looked in the bushes and found the Sol Emerald he was looking for. "I've got it!"

Meanwhile, Betrayus was watching the activity that was going on with Sonic and friends, paying no mind to Pac, or one of Dr. Buttocks' rants. "Now how come I've never seen those creatures on this planet?" he asked. He was referring to Sonic, Blaze, Silver, & Shadow. "It seems that PacWorld has gotten some new wildlife."

The slug-cam picked up some audio. "Okay, Sonic, this is the point where we split into groups of two. You and Blaze take one way while Silver and I take the other. If anyone finds an Emerald, let the rest know," Shadow said.

"Okay, Shadow, but what about this 'Betrayus' guy and his little band of ghosts?" asked Sonic.

"If we spot any ghosts, we better run. Remember that the only way Blaze can handle them is through her Burning form and Silver's still recovering. He needs his Super form anyway."

"Alright, be careful, you two," said Blaze.

"Same with you," Silver said.

"Searching for gemstones. How boring can that be?" Betrayus asked sarcastically. "I think I'll see what that talking yellow ball is up to." He switched the channel to Pac and his friends and saw him showing the Emeralds he found to Cyli and Spiral.

"I found these at the Maze earlier. I believe these are a couple of the Emeralds that Sonic was talking about," Pac said.

"You know, you might be right. These do look like those Emeralds that he and Ms. Blaze had shown us. I suggest you take that to Tails. He'd be happy to tell Sonic about them," Cyli said, getting a nod from Pac.

"Sonic? They couldn't be talking about that blue creature that I saw earlier, could they?" Betrayus asked. He then got an evil grin on his face. "So the Pac-Man has some new friends, huh? I say we give them a nice Underworld welcome to PacWorld."

While Tails and Sir C were working on finding Mobius, Pacster came in excited. "What's up, Pacster?" Tails asked.

"Look what I found," Pac said, holding the two dull Emeralds.

"You found a Chaos Emerald and a Sol Emerald? Way to go, Pacster!"

"Let me see," said Sir Cumference. He looked at the Emeralds. "Hmm, it seems that they're in the same condition as the ones Sonic and Blaze have on them."

"I'll keep these with me until Sonic and Blaze get back," Tails said. "Sonic told me that he and Blaze found Shadow and Silver. Last time I checked, Silver wasn't in the best condition. Go see if you can find any more Emeralds."

"You got it," said Pac, who then headed back out.

Sonic and Blaze were still looking for the Emeralds…well Sonic was. Blaze was looking nervously away from the blue hedgehog with a blush on her face. Sonic took notice of this. "Hey, Blaze, what's wrong?" he asked.

"*sigh* Sonic, do you remember the night before when you've first turned into your Werehog form?" she asked getting a nod from her friend. "The hug I gave you. Do you…do you think I jumped the gun?"

"No. In fact, I actually appreciated it. I've got to be honest with you, I never expected that, but I'm glad you did. I've been trying to tell you for a long time how I feel about you. Blaze, I love you," Sonic said, getting a gasp from Blaze.

Her shock turned into a smile. "Sonic…I'm touched. It's my turn to be honest with you. I've been falling for you ever since we started to work together against the Eggmen. You know, you've helped me more than once. If I had to pick who my best friend, between you, Silver, and Cream, I'd have to pick you. You're the one I love. I want to spend as much time as I can."

The two Mobians leaned in for their first kiss, but before they could touch lips, they got an unwelcome interruption. "Oh great. Ghosts," said Sonic. He picked Blaze up and ran away from them. The ghosts gave chase, causing Sonic to take a sharp right. They looked out for any more ghosts. Once they found none, they let out a breath they held in. Sonic and Blaze looked at each other and laughed. The two speed demons sat down, but shot straight up when they felt something on their hind ends.

They dug through the leaves and found a Chaos Emerald and a Sol Emerald. Sonic picked up both and handed the Sol Emerald to Blaze. "It's amazing what you find when you're running from ghosts," joked Sonic, earning a giggle from his new feline girlfriend. Sonic then got on his communicator to Shadow. "Shadow, we've found two more Emeralds, one Chaos, and one Sol."

"Okay, Sonic. Meet us at Pacopolis," Shadow said over the communicator.

"Got it. Sonic out."

Pac looked around and saw that there were ghosts on their way to the city. He got ready with a power berry, the Chameleon Berry. "Okay, ghosts, time to dine," he said. He headed towards the ghosts, who all looked confused as if they lost their target(s). He took the opportunity to eat a majority of the ghosts. They all saw that their companions were disappearing. They knew that Pac was responsible, but they couldn't find him.

Before they could catch him, he ate them all up. "Mm, tasty. Betrayus is definitely sending the delicious ones lately." He saw Sonic and Blaze along with two more hedgehogs. He presumed them to be Silver and Shadow. "Hey, Sonic!" he exclaimed, getting their attention. He joined up with the Mobians. Before Pac spotted them, Sonic and Blaze compared notes with Shadow and Silver, finding that they also found a Sol Emerald and a Chaos Emerald. Silver handed the Sol Emerald to Blaze while Shadow gave Sonic the Chaos Emerald.

"I take it Betrayus spotted us?" Sonic asked Pac.

"More than likely. I found another pair of Emeralds. Tails is watching them right now," Pac said.

"Then that makes four of each set. I think we're on a roll here," said Silver.

"Let's get the other Emeralds off of Tails," Sonic said.

CHAPTER 4 END

I know what you're thinking, so I'll just come right out and say it: "It took me long enough". Cut me some slack, alright. I've been having trouble coming up with this chapter for two months now.

Sonic and Blaze have finally gotten together, but the others don't know about it yet. Also three more of each set of Emeralds have been found, bringing the total to 4 Chaos Emeralds and 4 Sol Emeralds. At this rate, Sonic and friends will have the normally-powerful gems back in their possession, just so long as Eggman doesn't double-cross them like he did on the Lost Hex.
