Victory Lap

In Present Day PacWorld, all of Eggman Nega's robots were shut down, leaving Betrayus and his ghosts by themselves to deal with Sonic, Shadow, and Blaze in their Super Forms. The ghost leader remembered a machine that Nega made for him that would siphon off the energy of the Sol Emeralds, given that he was after them first. Nega built the machine in hopes that he would only have to deal with Sonic and Silver, not taking Shadow into account. Betrayus would just have to deal with Sonic and Shadow since Silver had the scientist taken back to their time and world.

The fire ghost pushed the button and fired a beam at Blaze, only for Sonic to take the hit. Betrayus didn't see any effect it had on the hedgehog, but Shadow saw a dark aura leaving Sonic and entering the machine, coming to the conclusion that the machine could also absorb dark energy should one of them betray the other. The effect may not have been visible, but Sonic definitely felt it. He knew what Shadow also figured out: Sonic the Werehog was gone for good! Betrayus saw the switch it was on. "Oh Eggman Nega, you filthy rat!" he said. "I can't believe he actually had something in mind should I betray him! Oh well, I bet he was going to betray me as well." Soon, Betrayus was covered in the same dark energy, turning into a giant version of himself. "I don't think I need the Sol Emeralds' power for this now!"

"I'm afraid I would have to agree with him on that one. I didn't expect that to happen. This has my counterpart's fingerprints all over it," Eggman remarked.

"Well then, Egg-brain, why don't you do something about it instead of just standing there?!" asked Tails, enraged that Eggman's robots were either hauling away Nega's or just standing there.

"Does it look like I would be able to do anything about the ghosts, Tails?! The last time I made a machine like that, it drained Sonic of his Chaos Energy, gave him that blasted Werehog form, and unleashed Dark Gaia! Oh, and last I checked, robots can't fight ghosts!" the scientist shouted back.

While Pac was chomping on more ghosts, Sonic was getting more frustrated with Betrayus by the minute. Blaze was trying to get his attention as the ghost was at his max. In spite of the fact that she was in her 'Burning Blaze' form, she was scared and clinging onto Sonic for dear life. Sonic was frustrated because Betrayus attacked Blaze with the cannon. "Now, weaklings prepare to face the wrath of Betrayus!" the fire ghost exclaimed while cackling like a mad…ghost.

"Get real!" Sonic shouted, causing him to stop his laughing. "If anyone's going to be facing anything, it's a royal butt-kicking, especially from me!"

"I would have to agree with Sonic on that one! Your days are numbered, Betrayus!" Shadow added. "Stand down while you still can!"

"Now what makes you think I'll be doing that?! I'm much more powerful than you three!" Blaze got a determined look on her face to match Sonic's and she let it be known. The three of them charged for Betrayus and attacked him with everything they had. The ghost leader, in spite of his size, couldn't keep up with them. "Hey, get back here! Hold still, will you?"

Shadow kept hitting him with his 'Spear of Light' while Sonic and Blaze charged at him head-on. Betrayus was starting to lose his patience. Soon, he became covered in a giant purple inferno, to the point where even Pac wouldn't want to mess with him…at least, not in his current state. The little yellow ball ate a Power Berry that gave him his ice powers so he could try to cool Betrayus down. This resulted in a lot of steam building up and the fire ghost getting pissed off even more. Shadow figured he could use this opportunity to fire some more 'Spears of Light'. However, Betrayus caught Pac in his hand and slammed him to the ground.

He tried to do the same thing to Shadow, but he was much quicker. The three speedsters (after grabbing Pac) went back a distance to see if they couldn't find a way to take Betrayus down. "Do either of you have any ideas? I'm fresh out and my 'Chaos Spears don't look like they're working," said Shadow.

"I don't have one. Do you, Sonic?" Blaze asked

Sonic thought for a minute before snapping his fingers. "I got one, but we're going to need to use 'Chaos Control' and a whole lot of speed." Shadow and Blaze nodded while Tails and Eggman looked at the trio, knowing that they were trying to find a way to deal with Betrayus.

The trio got back up and went after Betrayus again, who just laughed at them. "Do you fools really think you can stop me?! You don't stand a chance!" shouted the fire ghost. Sonic and Shadow smirked before powering up.

"Chaos Control!" they shouted simultaneously. Time froze around Betrayus and the speedsters started to spin around him at a breakneck pace. Tails and Eggman, as well as the others, saw what they were doing and cheered. Sally saw a tornado forming around Betrayus and knew that they were going to put out the fire with both the earth and the wind. Soon the flames around Betrayus were gone and the 'Chaos Control' wore off. Betrayus was dizzy from the excitement, too much that he couldn't see straight.

He recovered and looked at himself, only to see that he was in his original form. "You're going to pay for this, Sonic the Hedgehog!" He saw Pac running after him and knew that he better hightail it out of there. Sonic and the others just laughed.

"Go get him, Pacster!" Sonic exclaimed.

Later, after Pac ate Betrayus (again), it was time for everyone to say goodbye. Pac, Cyli, and Spiral were sad to lose their friends so soon, but they knew that they had to go home. "Hey, cheer up, buddy. We'll see each other again. I'm sure of it. Until then, keep on munching on those ghosts, alright?"

"You got it, Sonic!" Pac said.

"And don't forget to take care of him, Cyli. I know people like Pac can get into a lot of trouble. Just ask Sonic here," Blaze said.

"Hey!"

"Don't worry, Blaze. I'll take good care of Pac. You and Sonic watch out for each other as well," Cyli said. Blaze nodded in response.

"Hey, Spiral, how about the next time we see each other, you and me go a couple of rounds?" Knuckles asked.

"Yeah, that sounds like fun, Knuckles. You name the time and place," said Spiral, eager for a chance to spar with Knuckles.

"Well, it was nice working with you, Tails. I hope I get the chance to do so again."

"Don't worry, Sir C. I'm sure you will."

"Shadow, are you ready?" Sonic asked.

"Do you need to ask? I've been ready."

Sonic nodded and took out a couple of Chaos Emeralds, handing one to Shadow. "Chaos Control!" they both said. A portal opened up and the others went through it, starting with Antoine, followed by Rotor, Bunnie, Amy, Sally, Rouge, Omega, Cream, Tails, Knuckles, Eggman and his goon-bots, Blaze, and finally Sonic and Shadow. Sonic grabbed Blaze's hand as they walked through.

Everyone was back on Mobius safe and sound, knowing that Sonic and Shadow hit the coordinates of the Master Emerald dead-on, which was shown because they landed near the shrine. Eggman took a look at the Master Emerald. "Hmm, to take the Master Emerald or not to take the Master Emerald?" he asked himself. "Bah, we've been through enough. I'll leave it alone for now. I have to get back to my lair."

"Well then, how about I give you a one-way ticket," Knuckles offered with a smirk on his face.

"You know how to carry a grudge. Just get it over with!" Eggman pointed himself in the direction of his base while the red echidna was winding up. Once he threw the punch, Eggman was sent flying high into the sky.

"At least we don't have to worry about him for a while," Sonic remarked. Blaze grabbed the hedgehog by the face and kissed him, much to the shock of Amy and Rouge. Sally was smiling, though, happy that Sonic found someone who could keep up with him since she knew she couldn't.

"I've wanted to do that for a good while," Blaze said once they broke apart.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm happy for him," Rouge said after recovering from the shock.

"Well I'm glad you are, because I'm not! Sonic, you were supposed to be mine!" Amy shouted in anger. She grabbed her Piko Piko Hammer and chased after him.

"You better get used to saving him, Blaze. Sonic can only take so much," Bunnie said.

"I guess I better start now," Blaze said before running off after Amy. Yep, everything was sort of back to normal.

Okay, I thought about this and decided I better end it at 9 chapters instead of 10. I didn't have enough for a 10th chapter, so here you go. This story's been on my mind lately and I couldn't find a better way to end it, so I figured I'd put it behind me and focus on some other projects. I'm sorry that this wasn't very long, but you know.
