Family

~Peter's POV~

Once I hear Susan's horn I immediately forgot everything Aslan told me about when we had our talk. I knew she was in trouble so I immediately started sprinting to get to the river where they said they would be taking a bath. By the time I got there Blake was there too but he hadn't pulled his sword out like I had expected him too. Anyway, the wolves were in front of me now. The alpha wolf of the pack provoked me shamelessly.

"Look, we already know you don't have it in you," he said slightingly.

Blake spoke firmly to me instead. "You can handle this, Peter. Remember what Father Christmas said. Trust in your sword. This is your fight. I have to go check on Penny."

With that, I watched as my best friend ran off. Turning around I see the wolf growl to me once again "All my queen wants is you and your family, Son of Adam. It's so easy. But you've made your decision, I see. And now you're going to die like a dog!"

He pounced at me but I quickly remembered what Blake had said. Trust in my sword. Quickly I shifted my stance to stab the wolf and fell on the ground from its dead weight. I couldn't believe what I had done. Suddenly the wolf was moved off of me and revealed Lucy and Susan goggling at me, concern and worry written all over their faces.

Susan gasped. "We thought we lost you!" She shook her head, smiling anyway, as Lucy grinned at me.

Aslan then approached me. "Peter, clean your sword."

~Blake's POV~

I ran through the tents blindly as I tried to find Penelope's tent. When I stopped in front of it I took my sword out and stepped in. I continually yelled her name until she came around the wardrobe changer in one of my tunics. She stood there rubbing her eyes. "Blake, you woke me up. What's wrong?"

Quickly I enveloped her in an embrace and she curled up in my arms. Quietly she whispered in my shirt. "What happened?"

I shook my head buried my face in her hair. "The wolves attacked Susan and Lucy so Peter killed one."

"So you thought one came to our tent?" She turned to look at me.

When I nodded, she just smiled. "Well one didn't."

I became red in the face "Should I let go of you now?"

Giggling Penelope shook her head as she buried her face in my chest. Growing even redder I noticed how small she was compared to me. Suddenly she started trembling and my shirt became damp. Pulling her away from me I crouched a little so I could wipe her tears from her face.

"I used to hold my dad like that. I miss them so much," she sobbed.

Frowning, I wiped away more of her tears. I didn't know what to say. My father wasn't really a part of my life since he was in the army.

She spoke again. "I sometimes feel like nobody even cares about me."

I cracked a smile. "I care."

She shook her head ruefully. "Even if you did care, you would one day leave, Blake. Everyone leaves."

Smiling and gaining the most courage I thought I had inside me I slowly dipped down to her face close to her lips. Blinking Penelope glanced at me before her face went really red. "Are you about to kiss me?"

Wow, way to kill the mood. Laughing, I nodded. "Yes I was."

She only giggled in response.

"Would it be alright if I did kiss you?" I queried.

Awkwardly wrapping her arms around my shoulders, she bit her lip. "I guess."

Snickering I fixed her arms and shook my head as I moved closer to her lips "You know you ruined the moment."

She just nodded and I figured that that was all it took for me to attack her lips. I could even taste a bit of saltiness from her tears. I felt her smile in our kiss as she moved closer, causing me to wrap her tighter to me. As I kissed her even deeper I knew this was how it was supposed to be. I understood it now. We were meant to be together. Even if we had hated each other at some point in our lives – oh how silly we were. And she would be mine for forever.

~Edmund's POV~

I still trembled in fear whenever I thought of the fox that was turned to stone. It was because of me. I was sure of it. I should have never said anything in the first place about the Stone Table.

It wasn't the first time I'd seen disappointment in someone's eyes. I got it all the time from Peter and mum.

If I missed my family now from only spending a few days apart, I wondered how Penelope would feel, knowing she couldn't ever see her parents anymore.

As the little dwarf, Ginnabrik, I frankly had nothing but contempt for him. He kept taunting me, calling me a traiter, while several other animals came in front of me, slaying others in their process. The dwarf moved from in front of me revealing a large horse-man. Quickly he cut down my ropes and tied the dwarf up in my place. I hardly even knew what was going on.

As we sped through the woods I glanced to him and all of the other animals. He spoke to me without looking to me. "Your family is very worried about you, Son of Adam."

My brows furrowed together in puzzlement. "Who are you all?"

"We are soldiers in Aslan's army. I'm Oreius. The General."

Now I had no words until he spoke again but in a softer tone. "Your family has gained special weapons from Father Christmas. I have a sword that I crafted myself for you. Are you aware that Penelope is Mother Nature?"

I was quite taken aback. "No. She is?"

"Yes. She probably already knows we have you in safety. We will be at Aslan's camp soon, Son of Adam."

I just nodded as I glanced at all of the fauns and other animals. If they fought that quickly and easily against her portion of her army then, we would do well in the war she was planning for.

~Penelope's POV~

As Blake had me pinned on the wardrobe changer I felt my eyes change to something I didn't know. Just then he pulled away and his eyes went huge. "Your eyes are green Penelope."

A strange feeling swarmed over me and I had the urge to touch my wand which was on a satin pillow a dryad had given me. An image of the centaur and Edmund flying through the woods appeared, but it had vanished quickly.

Turning to Blake, I spoke abruptly. "I think they found Ed. Should we tell the others?"

He shook his head smiling. "Let them have the surprise."

Smoothly he wrapped me in his arms and I rested my head on his chest smiling. This was exactly how I wanted everything to be.

~Lucy's POV~

The next morning, Penelope came and woke me and Susan up, smiling and glowing. As she did my hair, I asked without turning around. "Did something happen yesterday?"

Her hands left my hair as she giggled. "I think you two already know."

Susan gushed. "You two kissed!? Really?"

I knew it! I knew this would have happened!

Afterwards, the three of us left to find Peter, but then I noticed Edmund on top of a hill with Aslan. My eyes widened as I tried to run to him and yell his name, but Peter held me back before I could shout in excitement. I finally got my brother back! As much as he could really be 'a disdainful and detestable prick' at times – Susan taught me those complex words – I still missed him.

A soft hand was placed on my shoulder and I saw Penny beside me. "You can see him in moment."

I looked back up to the hill and saw the two of them approaching us, a faint smile appearing on Edmund's face. Aslan left us to talk, so Edmund was more comfortable with letting his happiness show once he saw from our faces that we were more relieved than angry at him. "Hi," he said, smiling.

Penelope grinned. "Hi, stranger."

I was the first to step forward to hug him, while everybody else engulfed him in an embrace. Once everyone let go, though, I noticed that Peter was the only one who didn't hug our beloved brother. All Peter said to Edmund was to "go get some sleep".

Anyway, we were a whole family now and Edmund finally accepted us. Everything was back into place now.
