Hibari's steps were wide and he took on a full stride, back straight, head up high and eyes staring at all those who walked pass him though most chosen to keep their distance. Behind him, Mitobe walked along quietly, unsure what the cloud guardian wanted, they both lost their watches so he had no reason to think he was going to be assaulted or attack, but as a nervous habit he rubbed against his switch blade that was tucked in his jacket. The mid day sun beated down on them, Mitobe stared down to avoid being blinded.

"Where are we going...?" Mitobe muttered catching up to the disciplinary leader.

"Some where you've been before." Hibari replied.

"That doesn't tell me much since I can't remember..." The shorter one snarked.

Kyoya ignored it and kept walking before he muttered something loud enough for Mitobe to hear, "You still remember me, and that should be all the reason you need."

"Says the guy that stole my first kiss..."

"Trust me it wasn't your first."

"Are you some kind of pervert?"

"I would ask you if you were some kind of idiot but then it would be a rhetorical question."

"I would reply but it seems your puny little brain has yet to comprehend my words." Mitobe sneered. Hibari gave him a small glance and disregarded what he said, he could easily tell by the enhanced vocabulary that the other was nervous, he could tell just by the way Mitobe was walking let alone his tone. He wasn't hard to read.

The two didn't say another word until they reached the park, the same one he remembered from a long time ago. It hasn't changed much, still the same. It made him comfortable.

Hibari made his way to sit on the bench beneath the tree, Mitobe followed obediently. It was nice to get out of the house, and although the younger one as grateful, he wasn't going to admit it. Hibari has yet to say another word since they had their little playful argument, and Mitobe was starting to regret what he said.

It was quite, mid day and the civilians were either working or at school, which made Mitobe wonder why Hibari wasn't at school because he was wearing a uniform.

Noticing the bespectacled boy's distress, Hibari spoke, " Don't worry about it."

"How do you know I am?"

"It's all over your face."

Mitobe gave him a funny look before turning his gaze back to the view.

"What's the point of this...?" He asked unsure.

Hibari tilted his head waiting for a further explanation.

"I mean...bringing me out here...taking me on a walk...It's not like you're getting anything out of it."

"...That's because there's nothing for me to get, I'm being generous and you should learn to appreciate it because it's rare."

"Yes, because stealing me from my house and forcing me to go into the burning sun and walk to an isolated park with a man I barely know is generous." Mitobe replied with a hint of comedy that the skylark caught, it almost made him smile, and by smile he meant smirk.

"You came willingly."

"...You made me."

"How?"

"intimidation."

"You've never been intimidated by me."

"Yeah well you learn something new everyday don't you? You should really be in school though..."

"Don't tell me what to do."

With that Mitobe shut his mouth not knowing what to say next, he turned his eyes to the swing set, watching the wind pull in the chains softly.

FUCK

It was hard to carry a conversation. He didn't know what to do. Mitobe turned to look at Hibari, he didn't seem to mind the silence, he was simply leaning back onto the bench and twisting a leaf with his index and thumb. Mitobe followed his example and stayed quiet despite his urge to say something but he knew that would lead to more silence.

.

.

.

.

.

A minute passed, neither said a thing, it was getting tense and Mitobe didn't like it, not one bit, he began to kick his legs back and forth before playing with the helm of his jacket's sleeve, searching for an interesting topic to talk about.

"...Nice...weather we're having.." He commented.

"Sure."

"..."

SHIT

Mitobe looked around he park, how he wished there was something to distract him...

Mitobe blew some hair from his eyes, but it simply fell back brushing against his glasses and then falling slightly above the bridge of his nose. He was determined to get a hair cut. It was becoming inconvenience.

"How did we meet?" Mitobe asked carefully to Hibari after a brief silence

The skylark raised his eyebrow and gave a curious look to the youngling. "I beat you up."

"Oh." Mitobe replied with a bit of astonishment and terror at the same time.

"You caught me fighting some herbivores and took an interest, after that, you stalked me for a while...and then you moved away."

"But I came back." Mitobe added quickly in his defense without knowing exactly why he had to exclaim that fact out loud.

The tip of Hibari's lip stretched up as he nodded, "Yes, you did, like the stalker dog you always have been."

Mitobe smiled a bit himself letting out an exaggerated huff. "I fail to see how I got that name..."

"You're a stalker and you're obedient."

"Oh darling you should see me in bed~"

Hibari eyes widen slightly and he turned to Mitobe quickly, the other one realizing what he implied turned red from his roots.

"Wa-wait! I didn't mean it like that, it was a joke! A joke!"

Hibari cleared his throat after regaining his composure.

"I would hope so."

Mitobe let out a small laugh, it made Hibari feel better, the walk to the park and everything that followed was tense, and although he could handle it, he much prefered it when Mitobe was making stupid jokes and fooling around. It was good to hear him laugh again after so long, the kiss they shared had been forgotten but Hibari did not mind, he much prefered to spend his time with Mitobe just enjoying each other's company.

He knew about the situation at the Masato's household, he felt like Mitobe needed a break from all that stress, after all, coming out about being in the Mafia isn't the easiest thing, fortunately, Hibari's parents did not care much since they were mostly away for most of his childhood, and now that he's grown, they have given him less contact. It didn't matter, he prefered it that way anyway, the freedom of doing what he wanted. Although he considered himself bound to Mitobe, it wasn't so much like he was trapped, with Mitobe, it was much more. He could leave anytime he liked and do as he wished, but when he returned, Mitobe would be waiting there with a smile welcoming him back and the boy would treasure the moment until the skylark leave and he would follow the routine of waiting for him to return. It is because he trusts Hibari that he allows such freedom for the skylark to come and go as he wishes.

This fact brought great comfort to Hibari, which was rare, but he have appreciated all that Mitobe gave him even if he will not verbally say it, Mitobe did not need to hear anything to know that he was treasured, if not by the skylark then everyone else. He might just be over confident but he knew.

The wind blew leaves in the air and on the two decided that it was best to enjoy the rest of the day in silence, green grass beneath their feet, blue sky above with clouds covering the land in cool shadows, sun shining bright. Mitobe closed his eyes taking in the smell, he wanted to remember this moment.

He laid his head on Hibari's shoulder, hoping that the other would not mind, carefully Hibari rested his head on Mitobe who smiled and flustered.

A perfect moment.

perfect.

By the time that Mitobe got home, it was possibly around four in the afternoon, his mother welcomed him and Misaki invited him to play some video games. Since he was in a good mood, he agreed, his mom was more than happy to see her son up and about, she could only hope that he hasn't been visiting the mafia again. She smiled none the less and started on dinner. Mitobe ate with the family that night, even his dad and Melissa came to see him, happy smile on their face to see that the illusionist have joined them. Yosuke told many jokes that night, most that Mitobe did not get but appreciated dearly.

After dinner he took a shower and returned to his room, that night he tried to get a good night sleep, and it was the best sleep he has gotten in a while, he secretly thanked Hibari for that, and after a few more weeks of their little walks and talking to the Skylark, Mitobe was finding it easier and easier to get along with him.

Hibari would often walk him to his therapy session and he was starting to get his memories back, his parents were happy for him, but he knew that therapy was not going to get him back everything he lost, he still had his deal with Verde, that he did not forget.

One morning he received a letter from Reborn requesting that he came to visit Tsuna, since his parents were rather suspicious, they didn't agree to it at first, but when he told them it was an emergency and that he promised not to get involve and that they probably wanted him to return their things such as a fake ID or some other token he made up, they agreed, but only if Misaki was able to come to watch over his brother. He did a lot to lose their trust, and he knew it was too much to ask if Misaki didn't come but he agreed, grudgingly.

By the time he got to Tsuna's house, most of his friends were there, they hugged and laugh and sang and shouted their joy, Misaki watched from the back ground feeling guilty that he had a hand in taking away something that made his brother happy but he didn't want Mitobe to be hurt. Tsuna was more than welcoming, giving Mitobe a great big hug and Yamamoto did the same, Gokudera settled for a pat on the back but it was still appreciated. he really could not of have wished for better friends, he only wished he could be among them once again. The smile on his face never faded, it has been a while since Misaki saw something so true, this was the brother he was used to seeing, joyful, lively, and some what dangerous, but it fitted him, it fitted him well.

The little one smiled.

Eventually, they died down and Reborn announced the news.

"Mitobe, thank you for coming today, now, we have been keeping very close tabs of you lately, and it seems you have regained some memories right?" The Toddler spoke, but Mitobe swears that Reborn have gotten taller. He nods.

"Have you gotten all your memories back?"

"Not all of them...Why do you ask."

Reborn smiled. "I had to pull some strings, but I got verde to finish the machine he promised since the deal was technically completed. The Vongola has agreed to fund his projects for the next three years, but since he's a freelance scientist, it's the best we can offer him."

"I...I-"

"Don't worry about it." Reborn replied with a sincere yet sinister smile.

They lead him to a room where the green hair infant was sitting on the floor, scattered around him where blue prints and he was polishing a helmet. It had wired falling from the back and looked like it was heavy judgin gby the metalic covering, it was definately metal. Mitobe felt Misaki tense up beside him and pat him on the head softly and gave him a reassuring smile muttering an apology followed by "It'll be okay."

The other members were asked to leave the room since Verde claimed he could not work in such a situation, Misaki was NOT pleased, but he understood and obeyed. Mitobe smiled and assured him it was going to be okay, it was anothe rminute before Misaki finally agreed to it since Tsuna was kin denough to explain the situation to him outside.

"Hello Verde...I...thank you..." Mitobe grinned.

"I did it for the money." The infant curtly replied sparing no tie but slid the helmet onto the boy's head and turned a few knobs on his control bad and flipped a few levers.

"Are you ready?"

"Will it be painful?"

"Extremely, you'll have a headache afterward and might feel like you have to throw up, but that's normal, I'm going to send electrical signal to your brain and reactivate the parts that have locked itself, I'll basically be freeing your memories, after that I suggest you get some bed rest."

Mitobe nodded and layed down on the bed as Verde guilded him to it. The baby connected a few needles into him, piercing the skin and winded him up to monitors that began to pick up his vital signs., Verde pressed a big button and Mitobe felt a small shock before it gradually grew stronger and stronger. he pulled his hands into fists and let out a painful screams. Years and years of memories unlocking it self, it was all reconnecting, he remembered, he remembered. He remembered his first bicycle, Misaki's first birthday, his mother panicking because she lost her favorite earing, his dad trying to make sushi and ended up getting rice everywhere, his first day of middle school, Hibari, how he joined a gang, meeting everyone, and a very passionate kiss.

His head felt like it was being smashed with a hammer over and over again, every single poundng adding more to the last one and made him shook uncomtrolably on the bed. The infant had to get strap him down (with special help from his other robotic inventions).

Verde made sure to keep track of his vital signs to know when too much was too much, but he finalized his calculation, they they were always correct. Mitobe could take it, if this kid had gone thorugh all that he heard he has, then this is no problem. The scienctist turned another lever, slowing down the process and then cranked up the generator beside the bed a little higher.

When it was over Mitobe let out a painful groan, he was bleeding out of his nose and true to Verde's words, he was experiencing symptoms but he was more happy over anything else. Even with his blury vision and pounding headache, he couldn't help but think how happy and lucky he was.

DAMN, was it good to be back.
