Revival
~Penelope's POV~
The dark sky lured my sore eyes into opening. Quietly I looked to my side seeing Lucy curled up in between Aslan's body and mine. Glancing towards Susan, I quietly got up and kissed them on their foreheads, trying to not wake them. The lot of us honestly hadn't been getting much sleep lately.
I had missed my friends so much. The image of them crying and witnessing Aslan's death and mine still made me numb on the inside. I was so sorry that I had caused them so much pain and grief. It's like I wanted to do something about the situation that we were stuck in but I just couldn't. We were powerless children, prophesized or not.
My gaze finally diverted to Him. He lied there peacefully and quietly. I kneeled in front of his body, feeling tears well up in my eyes. Smoothly, I kissed his nuzzle and stood changing into my nymph form. Then I did something I hadn't done in a long while – I smiled. I finally knew who I was. All I had to do was believe in myself. It was simple as that.
Looking at the Stone Table, my mind suddenly switched to thinking of Blake, which caused a huge smile to appear on my face. I missed him already. Smoothly, a grin covered my smile as I remembered how freaked out he was when I had seen him when I was coming back from Aslan's Country. I doubted he even felt my kiss I left on his cheek. I was partially dead by then.
Turning to the woods, I felt the trees take me and soon enough the wind was dabbing on my face helping me to get to the camp before everyone left to go to the battle against the White Witch. They had to be in their best gear, putting their best foot forward! As soon as I arrived, I went to the gryphon's resting spot, seeking out the leader of them. Once he saw me his eyes went huge. "My! Mother? Is that really you?"
I beamed, nodding, as I sat down in front of him. Normally they would hate it when their beaks were touched by humans, but this form of physical contact from me was from nature, not from mankind. So it gave the gryphon a different sensation. "I need you to help me in the battle," I voiced out my request.
~Peter's POV~
I climbed on the white unicorn the Narnians set out for me and he spoke to me quietly. "My King, I will protect you as much as I possibly can."
I thanked him as Blake came beside me on a cream horse. His facial expression was hardened. "Peter. Would it be weird if I told you that I saw with my own eyes –"
Turning to look in front of me as I was distracted by the sound of a whoosh, I saw a gryphon flying down in front of us and only two words came out. Blake couldn't even finish his sentence. He looked at me curiously before hopping off his horse. We were both astonished by the sight.
Penelope. She was alive and in front of us with a bright smile on her face.
"You're not insane. I'm alive, trust me," she explained, until our astounded expressions softened. Blake ran to hug her while a warm smile came onto my face.
"I'll be with Edmund. You two can do your thing," I said cooperatively, but neither of them said a word to me. It was just a knowing silence.
~Blake's POV~
This was actually real. This was really happening. I couldn't believe it. She looked so beautiful. My Penelope looked like true Nature. Her hand touched my cheek and made it all even more believable. "Did you feel it when I kissed you?"
"No, just air," I shook my head.
"Hmm" was the only thing she said but I broke the silence. "But I can guarantee we both will feel this."
All I gained was a grin as I scooped her up into my arms and kissed her as passionately as I could. She was mine and I would show it to her. I felt her soft arms go around my neck and I held her even closer to me, even tighter in my embrace. For a while we stayed there until the gryphon looked towards us. "We must leave soon, my liege. We have a plan to put into action."
Our lips broke away from each other but she still allowed me to hold onto her for a few more moments. I really needed that. I had missed her so much, and she knew it too because she had missed me a great deal as well.
When I finally let her go, I asked, "How were you able to come back?"
"I just needed to learn a lesson. I never was really dead, just in an unconscious state," she beamed.
Smoothly the gryphon's wings flapped as she smiled at me. "See you at the battle."
A simple nod was my response. I had her back. I had my lovely wife back, and now I would protect her always.
A/N: I simply love that ending! Did you love it? Did you hate it? Just tell me in your lovely review! Xoxo
