Cair Paravel
Penelope's P.O.V.
"Just think about it, Penny! We're going to be royalty? It's going to feel so weird!" Susan said, grinning from ear to ear.
I beamed at Susan as we both walked down a corridor to our rooms. "Su, the four of you are fit for the position. Do you know anyone else who fits it better than you do? And you will be royalty, not me."
Su looked at me and giggled. "You know what I meant!"
Laughing, we both hurried to our rooms to see what they looked like. Once I stepped into mine my eyes widened as I looked around. It was huge! Whoever had designed my room certainly got the idea of Nature as there was green and gold literally everywhere.
Suddenly I felt a kind of warmth behind me, causing me to turn around. I saw Blake there smiling as if something was funny. "Your eyes are so large, Penny, but, well, we haven't seen rooms this big in forever."
I giggled as I quickly ran and jumped onto the bed. "It's really soft too," I said, stretching my arms. A smile etched onto my face as I turned from the decorated ceiling to to look at him. "How did you know what I looked like? At the battle you said my hair was really long."
Blake grinned. "I guess I was faced with the decision between coming back and going to Aslan's Country. You were there and you looked so different than now. Could you show me what you really look like?"
I looked down at my feet then shifted into my nymph form gradually. When I looked back up at his face, his eyes were wide. I half expected him to look at me in fear, but his gaze was almost full of admiration.
"This is what I really look like."
Silence stood still in between us until I almost changed back but he stopped me.
"Wait. You're beautiful."
I felt my cheeks go hot as I blushed madly and he pulled my chin up to his but someone had interrupted us by clearing their throat. Biting my lip, Blake just shook his head and pinched his nose. Smoothly he turned around to see who was there and it was Peter.
He was leaning on the doorway beaming madly; he seemed proud of us. "Well you two get comfortable easily. Penny, the girls wanted me to come get you because you need to be sized for something, apparently? I don't know. It must be a girl's thing."
Laughing, I hopped off of the bed and exited my room but before I left I saw Blake bump Peter and mutter, "thanks a lot". I couldn't stop giggling.
Peter's P.O.V.
As Blake and I made our way to the courtyard to go see our horses, something caught my attention. That voice. It was the exact same one from my dream. Quickly, I whirled, looking for that voice and when my eyes found the speaker, I stood frozen. Blake nudged my shoulder, "Dude, you may be a prince and about to be a king, but let up on the ultimate stare."
I barely could spare any of my attention and halve it for Blake. This girl in front of me. She was everything I had imagined her to be. Rich brown curls cascaded down her shoulders and her eyes reminded me of a blue-green stone. I found her.
Soon she turned to look in our direction, probably feeling the intensity of my stare - or glare, but as soon as she did I turned to look to Blake again.
"Who is that?"
He just turned to look at me. "Peter, both us just got here. We dont know anyone yet."
I just glowered at him till he finally got that I was serious and nodded his head. "Fine. Do you want to go talk to her?"
"About what?"
"I don't know? She's your mysterious girl that's in your dreams, not mine."
"Well...how do you talk to Penelope? I can try and talk that way."
Blake just sighed, "Peter, me and Penny - we're different. It's not going to work-"
I quickly interrupted him, "Blake, she's coming over here! Help me."
He just stared at me like I had three heads for a minute but finally shook his head pinching his nose. Smoothly he turned to her when she curtsied in our direction.
"My Lords, I am Annalise. I found your lordships staring at me and my friends over there. Are we bothering you, my Lords? If that is the case we could go to somewhere else or maybe-"
"No!"
Annalise just stood there with her mouth open from my sudden burst. Blake sighed quietly. "Hello, Annalise. I apologize for Peter's...outburst of excitement. You and your friends are not in our way; don't worry. When did you arrive at Cair?"
"Oh, we arrived last night, after your battle. I'm a healer in a village not far away and Oreius sent for me. He said I would be staying for a while. Is that alright with you, Prince Peter?"
All I had thought about while she talked was how beautiful she was. It was like the whole world had stopped and I returned to that meadow in my dream. She called my name out and I had run after her but soon something brought me out of my trance.
Blake was hitting my ribs with his elbow staring at me in the corner of his eye. Sighing he turned to her once again, "I am sorry, Annalise. I will let you go on your way."
Nodding, she went away.
My mouth stayed open until she was out of my sight and for some reason my heart hurt. Blake grabbed my arm and pulled us into a separate room, "If that is your way of flirting, you got a 100. In the real way of flirting, you got a 10. What is wrong with you?"
"Uh. I don't know. I - I couldn't say anything."
He laughed and punched my arm. "You are going to need some help with the ladies."
I rolled my eyes. "Blake, please. You're exactly the person I need help from."
"And give me one good reason why I should help you instead of laughing at you when you're awestruck by a girl's looks?" He tapped his foot playfully.
"I helped you that night in the snow, didn't I?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Oh. I knew that would come back to haunt me," he joked. "Alright then. I shall help you."
I nodded happily. I would see her again and I wouldn't wimp out like I had done this time.
I wouldn't.
Susan's P.O.V.
I turned to Lucy smiling. "Really?"
She nodded happily. "Really. I had thought the yellow one would be prettier."
Penelope just grinned. "The blue one brings out your eyes."
I turned to look at my reflection in the mirror in front of me. It brought out my blue eyes indeed, and slowly I nodded. The dryad beside me smiled and clasped her hands together, "Splendid, Princess Susan! Give me a moment please, my Ladies. I believe I have something for you, Princess Lucy."
Lucy beamed at Penelope. "I see how people like dryads."
She chuckled in response and I turned back look to my reflection. I looked pretty, I supposed. I never had remembered a moment when I thought I truly did look like I could compare to someone's beauty, like Penelope. She was always flawless, but now I had seen radiance in myself. Turning to the two of them, I blushed. "I really like this dress."
And then, girl entered the room that we were in and called for the seamstress but with no answer she sighed to herself.
Lucy hopped up from her seat on the floor. "Hi!"
Startled the girl turned around with wide eyes. "Oh!" She inhaled. "Hello, my Ladies. I'm sorry."
"What's your name?" I asked with a friendly smile. She introduced herself as Annalise and explained where she was from.
Penelope's head shot up. "Wait. I thought there were only animals in Narnia?"
Annalise shook her head. "No, my Lady. There are a few humans left. Most of us moved to Archenland when the White Witch started her reign, but my family had the most powerful healers so, we stayed. Orieus and his wife kept us safe," she explained with her gentle voice. "It is truly a fine pleasure to see you all, but...I have to find a seamstress."
I pointed to the door the dryad had vanished behind. Annalise thanked us, curtsied and left.
Penelope was the first to speak. "Interesting. All I felt from her was pure kindness."
I too nodded and sat down but quickly the dryad seamstress came into the room grinning as if something incredibly amazing was happening. "Penelope, this one is perfect. And Princess Lucy, this one matches you perfectly." (A/N: Penny's on my profile)
The two girls got up in front of me to examine the dresses but I smiled to myself as Lucy jumped in her place when she saw hers.
